Thanks @BlueLimes and @PenelopePerseveres. It’s quite an unexpected feeling as he bought the house at the beginning of the year and we’ve all been working on it so I’ve had plenty of time to get used to the idea. He was away for uni and was in a temporary flat share when he started his current job but came back here when rumours of lockdown started and he’s been here since. There’s no sign of DS2 making any moves yet.

I’m ready to downsize now. I have been for years. DH loves the house and there’s the menagerie to consider so it could take a while for him to adjust. I’ve always fancied living in a market town which is a very specific pipe dream but I suspect we’ll end up in a run down property with some land and at least 20 sheds 🤣

myladyjane · 28/07/2025 21:43

@PenelopePerseveres been on 7.5 for 3 months but went up very slowly - so click counted for the whole of the first 7.5 and half of the second pen (so 7 doses I think) the the full 7.5 for the next 7 and hopefully a bit more for the bonus dose.

also @Jins that makes sense. Even though as @PenelopePerseveressays it’s our job to make them ready to go it’s sad. Dh and I had this conversation today - realistically I’ve got 6 years until they are through exams and uni, it only feels like yesterday that they were toddlers. I have twins so will be a double whammy for me too. Dh and I are already planning our downsizing though. I fancy urban, he wants small market town (where we are already basically). I suspect he’ll win…..

Thelittlestranger · 29/07/2025 01:17

@Jins is the name of the duck Hoisin?! Or Crispy?

@Grecianrainbow I'm fully expecting a gain after this holiday. Drinks every day, and while I haven't been eating as much as I would have usually on holiday, I have been eating more than I have while at home. 3 days left to go, and I'm now ready to go back to normal eating habits and being able to make it myself.

Have thoroughly enjoyed being a slim person on holiday though - so much easier. Don't care about how I look in my bikini, can chuck on a pair of shorts and nice top in the evening, not constantly covering up around the pool, not nearly as sweaty. I'm here for it.

Aimingdown · 29/07/2025 02:05

@myladyjane I share your love of swimming - enjoy!

Thelittlestranger · 29/07/2025 06:38

Oh no...I've just found a set of scales in our hotel room. I've just come on, and at the end of a two week holiday, and they aren't my usual set. It will not be pretty.

Must. Stay. Off. Them.

2025istheyeari · 29/07/2025 07:31

Step away from the scales@Thelittlestranger !!! Definitely don’t do it!! Your holiday sounds great, enjoy the rest of it!

@Jins love the ducks and chickens, thanks for sharing photos. Sending hugs, it must be so hard when an offspring leaves home. DS is 16, so fully expecting him to go off to uni in a couple of years and that’s bad enough. I’m already dreading it!! Hopefully your ds will be back for lots of food and sleepovers, you sound like a very close family.

@myladyjane enjoy those lake swims. I love them too, and must be fab after so long!!

@Grecianrainbow try not to worry about your gain, you’ll definitely have water weight and like you say once you’re back on track it’ll come off. Hope you had a fab holiday.

@MJalltheway thanks for the swimming costume idea, will take a look.

@DGonMJ thanks for sharing. Wow those stats are incredible, really is a wonder drug. Wonder if this will lead people to stockpile🫣.

@RockyisMYRhino hope kids ok and that dh has his op soon.

I don’t know what to do, I’ve not got much more I want to lose, I’ve got my maintenance call with Oushk in a couple of weeks but wondering about moving back to 7.5mg for my next pen. I’m not sure the 10 has done much more for me to be honest and it’s more £! May bite the bullet and order one, am I right thinking you need to nitrate down anyway?

I need a dose of motivation, I’ve got an exec coach through outplacement who I met last week, I’ve got a load of stuff I need to do but I’m just not in the right headspace. My Senior Civil Service interview was cancelled last week because I wasn’t well and the panel couldn’t move it ( told me everything I needed to know, it wasn’t the right job for me!!). I’m still not feeling 100 % and I’m thinking maybe I leave it until I get back from Portugal and then get on it. I’m known for having a mission, weight loss has been it for the past 6 months, maybe I can channel that focus into finding a new job when I get back!!

sorry for the rambles!!

Stay off the scales. A lot will be water/ carb weight.

We have to enjoy the moments too- it’s getting back to our diet that’s key and the jabs will help. Been pondering this myself !

BlueLimes · 29/07/2025 07:43

@2025istheyeari yes enjoy your holiday and look forward to a more suitable job when back 😊

BreezyPeer · 29/07/2025 07:44

@2025istheyeari sometimes you just aren't in the right headspace and that's ok! You have to be kind to yourself.

This weightloss journey is amazing but it's also full on- takes a lot of emotional energy.
@Thelittlestranger step away from the scales! This is a case of do as I say, not as I do 🤣 my twice weekly weighing has already fallen apart with a sneaky weigh this morning.

I did enjoy not weighing when I was away 🌞 😎
Morning losers! Love this group ❤️

Zempy · 29/07/2025 07:50

Is the duck called Daisy?

RockyisMYRhino · 29/07/2025 07:55

Thanks for the support everyone it means a lot! DH is doing ok considering but we’re in a bit of a limbo situation until we hear from the hospital as to when his operation will be. We weren’t called yesterday so we’re heading out to the zoo with the DC later as a bit of a treat (and to get some walking in for me!). The DC took the news that we aren’t able to go away exceptionally well and my amazing sister has done some sort of magic and managed to get the caravan site to agree to let us move the dates to next year instead of going on the holiday herself so we haven’t lost any money there which is great! Have also been in contact with two lovely ladies who helped us manage the DC while we were waiting for the ambulance and once DH has recovered a bit we’ll arrange to meet up with them to buy them a drink and give them some flowers to show exactly how much we appreciated them. It just goes to show that the karma you put out into the universe comes back to you in spades when you need it most. I’m going to do my best to put more good karma back out there as and when I can going forwards.

Jins · 29/07/2025 08:03

@Thelittlestranger @Zempy the duck is called Crispy.

Her chicken friends are Nugget, Kebab, Royale and Dipper.

Thanks for all the kind words during my ‘moment’ yesterday. I’m feeling much better today but the empty bedroom is still a bit odd

PenelopePerseveres · 29/07/2025 08:10

I guessed Crispy 😂@Jins but I didn't fess up in case everyone thought it was in poor taste. 😎

Jins · 29/07/2025 08:14

@PenelopePerseveres she was initially called Fuzzy but we decided to change it. Too many sensitive folk in our families.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/07/2025 08:49

@2025istheyeari if things don't work out, they were not meant to be. I'm sure it will lead to something better. But yes, have a break and then re-start. and as unfair as it is, our chances of getting hired improve when we lose weigh: "applicants of higher BMI were less likely chosen for employment while other information given was held constant (as for example job qualification). One study suggests that obese females might be even more affected by this hiring bias than obese males"

Zempy · 29/07/2025 08:52

You’re a sick woman @Jins😂😂😂

myladyjane · 29/07/2025 09:35

Weighed in today as did a change of supplier (zava to iq doctor - fingers crossed they are as speedy). Needed the discount tbh as it was 30 quid cheaper than my last zava order. Another 1.5lb off this week. But urgh the photos. To be fair, I did stick my tummy out but I looked like a giant B. And my face looked awful - really hollow. And my hair seems to be thinning a bit and dank and grey. Not gonna lie, I looked really quite ugly and it was hard to see positive differences.

myladyjane · 29/07/2025 09:37

Sorry ignore me! I am meant to be trying to be positive. I just need better shampoo and camera angles I’m sure

Jins · 29/07/2025 10:06

@myladyjane i think we all have those moments. In my latest updated photo to Oushk it didn’t look like I’d lost any weight at all. I think we’ve all been so wary of the camera in the past we’ve forgotten that it’s rare to get a flattering photo at all.

I’m back fluctuating between two weights again but at least the lowest point is lower than before. I keep forgetting that this is what happens to naturally slim people. It’s going to be a while at this rate to see that elusive 9 0.0 on the scales but increasing my dose isn’t an option at the moment. I think I’m just going to sit tight on my conti maintenance plan and keep ordering 7.5mg pens as that gives me more options.

BlueLimes · 29/07/2025 10:42

@myladyjane it’ll just be a crap photo and you won’t look anything like it.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/07/2025 12:26

@myladyjane even supermodels take crap photos. I'm sure you look loads better compared to your original pre-weight loss photo, no?

2025istheyeari · 29/07/2025 19:18

@myladyjane I think we’re probably more critical of ourselves as we’re losing weight. In my case like Jins said I hated ( avoided) photos at my biggest and think I forgot how I look 🫣, I bet if you look at the original photo, you’ll see a huge difference. Don’t be so hard on yourself!

have we heard from @Polkadotdash recently? Was wondering how her recovery was going and hope she’s ok.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/07/2025 19:25

I am still baffled by my photos from last year. I of course deleted many, the ones that 'made me look fat'. But still have a bunch of them where I thought the photo was quite flattering and I looked reasonably good.
I did not.

DGonMJ · 29/07/2025 20:25

I also guessed Crispy @jins 😂

@RockyisMYRhino glad people are rallying round

@2025istheyeari agree with others that you should absolutely enjoy Portugal and get back on the work treadmill once you’ve had a rest.

Had two eggs on toast for breakfast today and I really struggled to get the second egg down me. But 1150am bang STARVING. Ate my lunch, left a few bits in my lunchbox coz I ran out of steam. But then 4pm STARVING again. Made myself a green tea, got through the last meetings and am clinging on for dinner! So my appetite when I do eat isn’t out of control. But about 3.5 hours after a meal I’m ready to eat again. So now I’m back to weighing food and tracking calories to figure out whether I should be acting on these hunger cues.

Thelittlestranger · 30/07/2025 01:11

I've stayed away from the scales - even when my husband jumped on them. It's been 9 days since my last jab of 7.5mg and my levels are apparently at 3.1mg according to Shotsy. One day left of hols then back to normality by Friday...
