@Zempy I haven't had cheesecake in months! Really fancy some now 🤣
Hope you feel better soon
@PenelopePerseveres that's great about the whistles dress. I hope you can get the next size down ok
I have done my first mid week weigh instead of every day. I've put on nearly 2lbs! 🤣🤣 but, it has been my birthday, meals out, cake, even some sweets in front of the TV last night. So, to be expected but still a bit annoying 🙄
Hope everyone has a good Sunday xx

myladyjane · 27/07/2025 08:09

I don’t know what to do today. I have just started 2 weeks off so I don’t have that rush to get practical things done. I toyed with going swimming but my period is dicking around (kind of here now) and I have this sort of low level cold so given I know I will be going at least 3 if not 4 or 5 times in the next 2 weeks now I’ve healed I may not today.

i have people sort of popping in on and off and dds bestie is staying today (my daughter from another mother) so the house needs a little bit of a tidy. We did a massive garage tidy yesterday and I need to go to the tip. I have a podcast I want to listen to so want to go for a walk to do that as it’s the only way I will get to concentrate properly but dh will want to come and I do t want him to as I want to listen. How dare he want to spend time with his wife the arsehole. If he really loved me he’d get up and make me tea. and I feel
like I should start up with some strength training again after 2 months of not being able to. My arse and arms feel droopy. But see above re feeling slightly off colour. Maybe I’ll start coughing really loudly to see if I can get that tea….

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 27/07/2025 08:16

@myladyjane sometimes you just need alone time.
I've told my entire family to basically bugger off today, was running around DC the entire day yesterday - (can we go to H&M to spend my birthday money? Can I have a friend for sleepover? Can we get sushi for dinner?) while DH was doing his hobby, so I warned him that I'm taking a day off as well.

PenelopePerseveres · 27/07/2025 08:40

I’d have a quiet day in your shoes @myladyjane … and @Zempy !

I’ve dialled my own day back today. It is my only proper day off this week and I’ve got three late nights. Taking DC2 for a train shortly that will take me a couple of hours and then I’ve got about three hours of work work to fit in.

I’ve ordered the dress @BreezyPeer, they sent me a discount code …. Come back to our sale Penny, type thing so it cost less than the first one. Hopefully it will fit, I always found whistles on a par with jigsaw size wise but this dress is big. I think my shoulders/bust might well be heading towards a 14 but I doubt my bottom half is right now. We will see.

I did go through a section of my wardrobe yesterday. I’ve got a number of work dresses that are firmly too big. I’m going to pack them up and send them here. I’ve decided that I cba with Vinted.

Jab day, no 22. Recording 13st 11lb. I’d really like to lose that 11lb by mid September.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy mine pounce the second I get home sometimes. I love all 3 of them including the big hairy one more than life itself but jeez they get on my tits. And he’s got up, gone to the loo and is now back in bed. No tea. What’s the actual point of him?

@PenelopePerseveres I am possibly the same size wise. Somewhere between the 14 and the 16 and it’s a bit hit and miss isn’t it? I like whistles and they do petite which is useful for me to have the option. Good for you for the donations. I love organisations like that which feel so practical. And you’ll smash the 11lbs post plateau.

urgh I shall have to get up.

DGonMJ · 27/07/2025 09:19

Morning losers!

@Zempy good going on the drinks and cheesecake! Hope a lie in and a big pint of water help you feel better ❤️‍🩹

@myladyjane your post reads as my own stream of consciousness, especially on the ‘how can I listen to this podcast if I have to make conversation?’ 😂

Jab day stats:
Jab#30 • wk 10 of maintenance • 3.33mg
SW 79.6kg • GW 62.4kg • CW 59.7kg
Gain 0.3kg since last Sunday, which I’m happy with.

This week has been my second on the lower dose of 3.33mg and I’m noticing the effect of the levels of MJ in my body dropping. When I dropped from 5mg to 4mg the reduction was really positive - better sleep, brighter eyes, less dry mouth, mood lifted. However I was still losing weight and struggling to eat enough to maintain.
As mentioned this last week I’ve noticed:

  • More hunger
  • Craving a second/third cup of coffee
  • More likely to reach into the cupboard and have a handful of tortilla chips while waiting for dinner to cook
  • My impulse control is down - I’ve been online shopping more. Had to return the over priced hiking boots as they didn’t fit (will now shop for a cheaper pair).
  • More doomscrolling on Instagram (went to bed early on Friday and just doomscrolled for 2 hours).
  • More drive at work - chasing the dopamine high I get answering emails and ticking off my to do list.

So, some of annoying habits creeping back but I’m not putting on weight. I do need to calm down on my spending, and doomscrolling - so I think I need to find other ways to get those pops of joy, as it’ll be better for my mental health. I have a pile of books by my bed that I need to get into, I’m sure once I start that it can be my new obsession.

The plan is to eventually get down to 2.5mg or lower so I can buy cheaper pens. Go back to being me, but keep off the inflammation, keep sugars stable and maintain the ability to burn fat.

DH now interested. His BMI is 29, but he has asthma, is struggling to exercise and is constantly getting joint pain. We did the questionnaire with Voy and he qualifies. He’s very very needle-phobic, but I think he’s reached the point where he’s seen the huge benefits I’ve gained and knows that it could be so good for his health.

MJalltheway · 27/07/2025 09:23

I hear you with the need for alone time! When we were on holiday, there was one point I just snapped at all of them (DH included) after the constant, Mum, where's this, mum how does this work, mum what do we have to eat, mum what are we doing today, mum what's the weather like and on and on and on. Drives me insane when 2 of my kids are (almost) adults and can function perfectly well when I'm not there but somehow turn into helpless toddlers when I'm around. And no one EVER asks DH ANYTHING, he can just sit happily reading his book and ignore what's going on - ggggrrrrrrr 😡

Slightly struggling with motivation this morning, I have my mat out and the kettlebells workout lined up on the TV ready to play and yet....I'm on MN....
must get on and do it!! I like getting it done before anyone else gets up in the morning, in a little time to myself!

Jins · 27/07/2025 09:28

Must be something in the water as I’m having a cba day today as well.

Listed 4 pairs of sandals yesterday and I’ve sold 3 and had a frankly insulting offer for the 4th. Couldn’t be bothered to counter offer on that one.

After months of grumbling, complaining and regretting buying his house DS1 has decided that tomorrow is the day and he’s moving in to it. DS2 is cautiously planning a celebration. There’s no love lost between my two. On the plus side my collection of useful sturdy large boxes will disappear.

I’m feeling my age today. DH and I have generally ignored the passage of time and keep doing what we’ve always done but today I’m feeling a bit tired and a bit achy and slow to get going. I’ll join @myladyjane and @Zempy having a quiet day.

That’s a fabulous initiative @PenelopePerseveres. I wish I had something suitable to send them but all my workwear is long gone. I didn’t have much to start with, just enough to cover days when equity partners were doing their tours. The rest of the time I was the casually dressed aberration in the office but I took the view that they’d head hunted me so didn’t get to try to fit me into any sort of mould 🤣

Delayed jab today and it’s down to the last drops in the pen. I’ll have to resist the temptation of doing whatever is left and just stick to a 3.75mg dose.

discov · 27/07/2025 09:50

Morning all,

Just caught up! Lots of wardrobe sorting going on I see. I had another sort recently and have sent two big bags to charity and have another bag for Vinted but not going round to listing yet. I still have a lot of t-shirts hung up which are too big but if I get rid of them I’ll have nothing left!!

Visited my parents yesterday and my DM said I look ‘gaunt’ which is frankly absurd. I have a very round face so think it’s impossible to look gaunt 😂 She’s not really the type to say things like that so it took me by surprise!

This!

MJalltheway · 27/07/2025 10:21

Well, I did it! Kettlebell workout done ✅

That's 6 workouts this week so back on track after illness and holiday.

im trying to find a new swimsuit, ive tried on so many from all different brands and cant find a single one that caters for both a long torso and a big bust. The style that used to suit me really well at a size 18 just doesn't work on me now, it's too saggy. I've tried so many brands but just can't find anything. 😭 I actually do have a Tesco one that I wear but it doesn't have any bust support so it makes me look very lumpen which I'm actually not any more.

myladyjane · 27/07/2025 11:03

@MJalltheway I don’t know if it would work but I get my cossies from Amazon. I am a hobby swimmer (ie I swim for ages but slowly round the lake or pool). I used to find ‘sporty’ suits unsupportive for boobs and had a recommendation to try these ones which have a ruched torso and bust support from the fabric. They do look like beach ones but they do swim well. I am short torso’s though

MJalltheway · 27/07/2025 11:18

Thanks @myladyjane I'll have a look. Sporty ones are generally terrible for bust support - seems you can't be sporty with a large bust! I need quite high cut necklines because I wear them for aquafit generally rather than swimming which involves a lot of jumping (and therefore bouncing!) and I have had incidents where it gets rather close to full-on boob escapage.

Jins · 27/07/2025 11:47

Swimwear. My speciality. I have a fairly long torso and while my bust was never huge my tummy certainly was. Proper racing and training suits are designed to flatten the bust to reduce drag so probably best avoiding them. Leisure suits are either designed to show off your assets and maximise a tan or to mimic the look ‘proper’ racing suits without actually having the features.

All ready made swimwear is designed round a block or standard size for that range and scaled up or down. If you look at a size L against a size XS you’ll see it’s significantly longer. This isn’t because of height differences, it’s to allow the 4-way stretch fabric to give room for larger busts or just general fat overall. They design for the shortest average torso possible because every cm saved in length makes a big difference to profits.

So your combination of larger bust coupled with a long torso is going to make it difficult. A couple of places claim they have a long torso range. Pour moi was one I think. But your best bet for a suit to use for aquafit is a sports tankini if you can find one for your bust size or my personal preference of a properly fitted supportive bikini with an activewear vest top over it.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 27/07/2025 12:05

I hear you on both counts: mum?? mum? mum! mum! 22428 time per day. When I point out they have a father, they go: Dad! Where's mum?

Also yes to people trying to talk to me when I want to read or something. I always thought I was an extrovert (sociable, outgoing) and DH (more quiet and reserved) would be an introvert. But oh no, we are both the ooposite, in hiding. DH needs to share everything - I get all the details about what he did at work ever evening. He then goes: and how was your day?
Me: fine. 😁

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 27/07/2025 13:52

I am sitting here now, trying to find motivation to go upload another box to Vinted. My balance is running low there.

MJalltheway · 27/07/2025 14:52

Ah @jins that absolutely explains why I'm having more trouble now than when I was in a size 18 which would therefore have been longer. thank you for the very useful explanation!
I've been looking at pour moi but they almost all seem to have plunge or wrap-over necklines, neither of which have enough oomph to hold the boobs in place.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy myself and DH are the opposite! I blather on about everything and everything and his response to how was your day is always - fine.

PenelopePerseveres · 27/07/2025 15:17

Have you looked at Lands End @MJalltheway . They do both long and cup sizes, I am not sure whether the two overlap but my 5'11 DC finds that a long from there fits very well.

myladyjane · 27/07/2025 16:02

@DGonMJ I found your post really interesting, especially around the non weight loss effects. I must say that my doomscrolling habit has not been impacted by my mj use but other things have been.

i got a boook called DOSE on a kindle 99p deal a few weeks ago. It’s about dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins. I have only read a bit but the dopamine chapter is really interesting with some practical ways to improve these.

2025istheyeari · 27/07/2025 19:19

@PenelopePerseveres ooh, even better when you get a discount! Hope it fits! Well done on finding more clothes in your wardrobe even if because of insomnia 🫣and that charity is great!

@zempy, you need to let your hair down sometimes, hope you had a great evening and that you’re feeling better.

@Jins i feel your pain on shoes and bags, they’ve always been my go tos but well done on your clear out! Thanks so much for the swimsuit advice too, I went open water swimming this morning and am in dire need of a new costume, mine is very saggy on the bum and boobs 🫣🤣 and I’ve also been struggling to find one, but I have a slightly different issue- big chest but short torso ( all my height is in my v long legs!).
@myladyjane hope you’re feeling a bit better. Would you mind sharing the link to the costume you mentioned, sounds like it may work for me!

@MJalltheway impressive exercise stats 💪🏻.

@BreezyPeer it'll come off v soon I’m sure, it was your birthday, that deserves celebrating🎉.

hope you’ve all had good days, like some others I’ve been feeling a bit can’t be bothered today! After my swim I’ve sat on the sofa holiday planning for next year, cuddling the dog and that’s about it!

myladyjane · 27/07/2025 19:46

@2025istheyeari I can’t find my exact one but it’s similar to this one

https://amzn.eu/d/3BaMoZ2. The adjustable straps keep the girls firm.

i did my walk podcast and had such a nice time.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 27/07/2025 19:55

I wonder when varous websites adjust their size recommendations? You know the ones that recommend based on past purchases and how other customers report the fit, and go 'we believe for this item, size L will be your best fit'. No dear Zalando, I really don't think so.

RockyisMYRhino · 27/07/2025 19:57

Well today has been alot different than planned for me! Was supposed to be just doing the last minute bits before a caravan holiday starting tomorrow but DH had a bad accident and I’m currently sat in hospital with him waiting to see if he needs surgery or not!!! Not sure if it’s the MJ working, or just my usual reaction to stress but I’ve not eaten a thing all day!!! Not sure we’ll be going away tomorrow if he does or if I’ll take the DC on my own but we’ll just have to wait and see I think

oh no, @RockyisMYRhino , fingers crossed for both of you, hope they say it's not as bad as you fear.
