Fantastic @discov, congratulations!! 🙌 so close to goal now!

Jins · 25/07/2025 10:18

Week whatever weigh in and I’m not doing the full stats as I usually try to.

Weight loss since last Friday - 0.8lbs 🎉
Current weight - 9st 0.4. Less than half a pound to initial goal. 🎉

On the negative side I’ve got the old MJ side effects of sulphur burps and diarrhoea on day bloody 4 after a dose of 4.375 instead of 3.75 so I’m back to square one. Due to jab tomorrow so will push that to Sunday and go back to 3.75 every five days for the foreseeable.

I’m not sure why this is happening so late in the process and why I’m not coping on doses that suited me while titrating up. Priority now is finding the dose where I get the positive benefits even if weight loss doesn’t happen

Aimingdown · 25/07/2025 14:09

Hi Losers, checking in.
SW 80kg
CW 64.5
GW 60ish, tbc

After a couple of weeks away with slightly worse choices available, feeling a bit plateauy. Need to push for those last few kilos I think. Delighted with how everything is fitting now though.

I’m very inspired by hearing the progress on this thread, we have all come so far!

Zempy · 26/07/2025 07:21

Finally got back to 9:8 today after gaining since July 10. It’s been a really tough couple of weeks, but I guess I need to be able to ride those out, as we all get them.

I cleared the air with “friend” last night and although I am now far more wary of her, I feel able to socialise within the group. Big relief. I am single and my friends are so important to me.

Off to a BBQ today which shouldn’t be too bad. I feel pretty suppressed after injecting 10mg on Thursday night. Hopefully I can really get stuck into this final half stone now.

Still baffled by how I am going to prove my height at my Oushk call!

Those who have had maintenance calls rather than verification. Did you have to prove your height at those? By the time I get my verification call I should be ready to start maintenance so I might try to change it and just pay the £5

SteveHarringtonsHair · 26/07/2025 07:27

Morning all, well done to all those losing and those at maintenance.

Having had a week away I was delighted to find I’d lost a pound when I got back.

I don’t think I’ve ever been on holiday and lost weight before.

I ate very small portions and drank loads of water (it was so hot) did loads of walking and still ended up incredibly constipated 😩 I’m allergic to kiwi fruit so have to rely on less natural methods unfortunately.

Needless to say I was extremely surprised at a loss.

Just three pounds to go before I reach my first GW. Still can’t quite believe I’m typing that.

Good luck to all for the week ahead.

SW 196lbs
CW 136lbs
1st GW 133lbs
2nd GW 127lbs

2025istheyeari · 26/07/2025 07:39

Happy weekend everyone!

Glad you cleared the air Zempy, that must be a weight off your mind.

Well done on all the losses, isn’t it mad that we’re able to maintain and sometimes lose when we’re on holiday!!

I'm also a bit perplexed about the Oushk height thing. I cancelled my weight verification call
and hope to do it with my maintenance call next month 🤷🏻‍♀️. Does anyone remember the other providers who offer maintenance? I’m a bit less convinced about Oushk recently, they’re definitely not as receptive to emails etc, I’ve had to chase a few times.

I’ve had my first ‘official’ weekly weigh in since being back from hols ( I weigh daily but you know!!) and I’ve kept the weight off! So I actually lost 5 pounds over the 2 weeks I was away and this week- mind blowing!!

5 stone gone forever and debating my goal. I’m 24 bmi at the moment and can definitely see my stomach and upper abdomen shrinking, I'm
going to see about losing another 7-10 pounds I think.
I’m also feeling hungrier, don’t know if it’s still jet lag but I never eat breakfast and am waking up hungry. I think I’m going to start upping my calories a bit.

PenelopePerseveres · 26/07/2025 08:19

Good news @Zempy , I’m single and I get it.

That’s fantastic @2025istheyeari amd @SteveHarringtonsHair .

I’m not sure what it is about holidays but it seems to have kick started my weight loss. Down again today by 0.2kg. I’ve literally lost weight every day since I returned from my holiday 🤯 after not losing for two months doing exactly the same thing.

My first 7.5mg pen arrived yesterday as I was going to up my dose, I’ve got three more weeks of my current pen but I wonder if I’ll feel that I need to if this progress continues.

I think that Ouskh have probably grown too quickly to keep up their customer service levels/governance at home @2025istheyeari . I’m not sure I have any reason to leave them personally but I can see why others would.

I found another old favourite work dress that I haven’t been able to wear for a couple of years yesterday that is almost too big now. I’m going to have to go through my clothes this weekend otherwise I will definitely miss things on the way down.

ETA @Aimingdown sorry I missed your post on my phone. Fabulous progress and very near goal 🏆.

DGonMJ · 26/07/2025 08:32

@2025istheyeari back in May when I was expecting my maintenance call I emailed to ask if I could also do the weight verification at the same time. Instead, they booked me in for a separate call for weight verification. I had Hira and I think she wants to make sure you have enough time to go over your history and then discuss your maintenance goals. But maybe it’s changed since then?

I was on the Oushk website yesterday as I’d heard they’d updated a few things, they have a card you can order or print out that you can take to your GP or local pharmacy and have them fill out your weight, height, BP etc.

PenelopePerseveres · 26/07/2025 08:38

I saw those cards @DGonMJ . Not sure how successful they’ll be with them. I’m not sure it’s something I’d bother with, maybe that’s just me!

I think I would do the card thing if it was the only way to verify height. I need to get access to my NHS records on the app, see if my height is recorded in there somewhere.

BreezyPeer · 26/07/2025 08:44

Morning losers!
@Zempy I am also single and totally understand about friends being so important. So pleased you managed to clear the air 😊

DGonMJ · 26/07/2025 08:46

@PenelopePerseveres must be a relief to finally be off the plateau! Maybe your holiday was a good de-stressor, lowered inflammation. Whatever it’s done, it seems to be working!

BreezyPeer · 26/07/2025 08:49

I am loving the maintenance talk! How far we have all come in such a short time.
Not there myself yet but on the way 😀
I haven't weighed for two days. I'm going to step on the scales tomorrow and hopefully start a new regime of twice weekly weighing now I am a healthy weight. I want to to stop waking up thinking about the number on the scale 😂
Have a lovely Saturday everyone xx

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 26/07/2025 08:56

It is so inspiring seeing how close everyone is to their goals, or how you’re AT your goals!

I realised today that if (IF) I can lose 2.2lbs by next Saturday, I’ll be able to say I’ve lost exactly 5st in exactly 7 months. I do like nice round numbers, I hope I make it 😅

I’m 8lbs away from my goal, which is BMI 25. Now that my horror at my own saggy skin is fading 🫠 I might try and go for another half stone or so though, to give myself some wiggle room. I’m quite nervous about maintenance, I’m still on 3.75 and not sure about how it’ll work - I guess I’ll try 2.5 and see how it goes. I definitely don’t want to come off it altogether.

Jins · 26/07/2025 09:06

@Zempy - great that you cleared the air. Must be a relief.

Some really great reports coming in from the best bunch of losers!

I’m back up to 9st 1 this morning but it’s not a great shock as I must have lost an awful lot of water weight during yesterday morning’s purge of everything in my digestive tract. Back to normal today so may jab later on rather than tomorrow. Still very frustrated to be dealing with side effects 6 months after my first dose.

We did loads of gardening yesterday and it’s looking better. Also discovered a horde of baby koi in our pond. We’ve had 4 koi for about 20 years and never seen any babies but when I fed them yesterday the water started bubbling when there didn’t seem to be any fish. Looked more closely and there were at least 10 black baby koi there. Went back when it was dark with a torch and there are loads of them including some beautiful orange and black ones. Far too many for a pond the size of ours so we’re going to have to find homes for them.

Re Oushk - definitely not what they were when I joined them but I’ve no plans to move at this stage. They’ve grown too big too quickly.

DGonMJ · 26/07/2025 09:18

@whyamisuddenlygettingolder I know, it’s great seeing people near their goal, and getting to goal. But also, those getting to their halfway points still feeling motivated because it’s still the longest they’ve been able to keep up a steady weight los. I can’t believe I’ve been in maintenance for two months already.

My maintenance update following the two hungry days where I’ve tried to make good choices, but also made a few unwise choices (too much coffee, mindless snacking/cupboard snaffling)…and I’ve stayed the same weight - 59.3kg today vs 59.5kg on Weds and 59.4kg last weekend.
So I’ll do another dose of 3.33mg from my pen tomorrow, and mentally prepare for more hungry days next week. Have already planned to make sure I have two eggs for breakfast rather than one (need to nip this craving for a second breakfast in the bud!), and increasing the protein for lunch, and remembering to bring high protein snacks for work. I’ve become lax at tracking macros.

MJalltheway · 26/07/2025 09:59

@2025istheyeari monj have a list of providers who you can switch to for maintenance https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-maintenance-pharmacies/
I'd be surprised if most of them don't offer it (at least to existing customers) by now, it's a good way to keep the money coming in! I know when I started on Voy they didn't offer maintenance and now they do.
@jins so sorry you're struggling with side effects, that really does suck so far into this process
@Aimingdown another getting very close to goal, well done! Are you going to stick on the current dose or go higher to try and get past the plateau?
@zempy, glad you have cleared the air although as you say it'll probably be a bit strained for a while. Enjoy the bbq, weather looks gorgeous today. Not too hot!
@PenelopePerseveres yay smashing through that plateau! Amazing how it's been basically a textbook demonstration of that discussion we all had months ago about how plateaus work!
@SteveHarringtonsHair hope you had a great holiday. i find chia seeds work wonders for constipation, i try and have a spoonful each day, sprinkled over yoghurt and berries normally.
@DGonMJ I don't know how old you are, but if you've had the 40+ NHS health check, you might have your height recorded in there. Mine's on my NHS app under External NHS health check.
@BreezyPeer its so bizarre to get your head around being a healthy weight, isn't it?!
@whyamisuddenlygettingolder 🤞 for 5stone in 7 months! I mean, even if you don't reach it, it's still a phenomenal achievement to be where you are now!!

I'm feeling so good at the moment! Did a strength class yesterday that I haven't done for about a month what with illness and holidays and I was noticeably better and stronger at most of the exercises. The instructor came over at the end to say how well I was doing! Still suck at planks though. 😄 I'm still marvelling at the fact I have actual, discernible muscles. I am even considering giving couch to 5k a go having always been totally and dead against running of any kind 😂

off for a nice walk with a friend this morning then have the rest of the day to myself while DH is at a beer festival. Not sure what to do, maybe a trip to my favourite garden centre.

It would be interesting to be able to prove the stress theory @DGonMJ , I’m sure you are probably right. I’m doing my best to secure a new role (scarce at my level/niche) and have been second twice this year.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 26/07/2025 10:21

congratulations on all the wins! Many of us have had our first holidays without coming back several pounds heavier, isn't it just great?

DGonMJ · 26/07/2025 10:36

@MJalltheway I am indeed over 40. I haven’t been able to access records through the NHS app, keep getting an error message. You’ve prompted me to FINALLY email the GP surgery to see if they can fix it.

@PenelopePerseveres good luck with the search. I’m currently having coaching sessions, a new perk that they’ve introduced at work for people at my level. Once I realised I didn’t have to use it to ‘prep myself for promotion’ and could just use it as a therapy session for dealing with the day to day nonsense I got a lot more out of it, and now weirdly feel more prepared for a promotion should the opportunity arise. Maybe you already have a coach, but I highly recommend.

PenelopePerseveres · 26/07/2025 10:48

That’s a great initiative @DGonMJ, I’ve had a bit of coaching in the past and paid someone for a couple of sessions before a SCS1 interview last year. Wasn’t successful. All my feedback has been very good but I’m trying to break into a new area of work. Still relevant to my PhD but without a 15 years of direct experience.

I’ll probably retire in seven years if I can’t change organisations, this would be fairly early. I’ve got absolutely no desire to retire early at all, but if I re-gig my life I’ll be able to do that. Both DCs will have had enough time for a masters by then and I’ll have had a couple of years to replenish my savings.

Jins · 26/07/2025 11:33

Mixed bag of emotions going through my wardrobe. I have put 15 pairs of shoes out to go on Vinted and a further 3 pairs for the charity shop. It needs to be done but shoes and bags are my thing. They look good whatever my size.

Anyway I found my old leggings that I used to use when doing land exercises when I took my swimming seriously. Photo included next to a size 3 birkie for scale. I think you know what’s coming…. I bloody love Lycra.

Sadly the 14 year old size 12 Jacques Vert dress that’s my go to wedding guest outfit remains too small

Sorry to derail the serious and sensible chat.

Tiny @Jins!

I bought a dress from Whistles in the sale for a function I’m going to in a 16 last week, it has just arrived and it’s verging on being too big. My dinner isn’t for five weeks so I think I’m going to order a 14 and keep my fingers crossed that my plateau is well and truly over.

Zempy · 27/07/2025 06:50

That’s amazing re the koi @Jins. Ex FIL had loads of them, huge great things, but I don’t remember them having babies.

It is brilliant to hear from those who are already maintaining and to understand how that’s working for you.

Following on from my tricky week, I, erm, let my hair down yesterday at the BBQ. I very rarely drink alcohol but I had about five drinks and have been awake half the night, feeling sick, headache, high temp, 💩💩💩. I also ate a large slice of cheesecake 😬.

So my stomach is distended and I feel like shit this morning. Not going to weigh myself, it will be really high with inflammation. What an idiot!? Still, I did have a good time.

myladyjane · 27/07/2025 07:17

Oh @zempywell done on having a smashing time! That’s the main thing. Good fun and cheesecake, what’s not to love. Back to bed with a big glass of water and a cup of tea I say.
