Thanks both. I think the photo is a good demonstration of my waist being larger than my hips. I’m absolutely blown away by this though. Wetsuits are the most soul destroying item of clothing but this one makes me feel great

MJalltheway · 24/07/2025 11:02

There is something especially depressing about a wetsuit! I bought myself own XXL one because I got fed up of the hiring places either not believing I needed an XXL or not having any. Now way too big of course!

Zempy · 24/07/2025 11:03

Well done @MJalltheway it’s like a little miracle isn’t it? I threw away all my old baggy pants and pyjamas this week. I was fed up of pyjama bottoms falling down! I am size medium pjs now, and size 12 knickers. Bloody marvellous.

Congratulations @Jins It’s going to be weird for all of us as we start reaching for our jumpers and winter wear. Lots of Vinting will be done!

I appreciate the support on the friendship issue. There was some real spite attached to some of the comments which shocked me. I’m really hoping it can be resolved to the extent that the group can continue to function, but I certainly won’t feel the same about this friend, and will distance myself to some extent.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 24/07/2025 11:06

DH is into diving and he's very slim - even he lost a few kilos before summer, as he claimed he looked like a seal in his wetsuit otherwise.

Cabinfever20 · 24/07/2025 11:10

I have to tell someone (apart from my daughters who are also on WLI and are very supportive, and doing amazingly themselves) and I know you will all know what it means - I got into the 8 stone bracket yesterday. 8.13.6. Just sneaked in! Only just but I’m down from the 9s. I’ve lost 2.5 stone so far. I’m 5 ft and I think I was 7.5 stone when I got married 33 years ago. My goal is 8 stone, as at my great age of 70 I think I might look a bit scrawny if I go any lower. I’ve also got the horrible “old lady underarms” which came as a shock. I’ve had bingo wings for years but now without the fat plumping them out they just look very crepey and sad. I’ve been doing weights since I started in January just for my arms so they are fairly toned. I just hope this last 13lb might help. My goal is 8 stone. Must be over 25 years since I was that weight. Congratulations to everyone on their amazing weight losses.

Zempy · 24/07/2025 07:21

Happy birthday @BreezyPeerand congratulations!!!!

Sounds like everyone is doing well ☺️

I too have wrinkly extra skin on upper arms and tops of thighs, but I don’t care. The only thing that does bug me is my turkey neck 😡. I will see how it settles.

Yesterday was a DISASTER. I had a HUGE falling out with a close friend over something that involves our whole very close friendship group. I have a horrible feeling there’s some jealousy at play over my weight loss (she has form) but it’s been very upsetting. Anyway, I didn’t overeat at lunch, but I did pack away two large glasses of wine! I felt really ill after. Most unlike me.

So I hardly slept for worrying about it all. 😞

Oh @Zempy that sounds stressful, really hope it gets sorted soon. I know we’ve spoken about Trinny Elevator before, I’m still using it and it is def making a difference. There’s 20 % off her whole site for 48 hours if you were still thinking about it.

@Jins you will do it!! Last few pounds are always bloody stubborn!

so chuffed for you @BreezyPeer, what a fab birthday gift to you! Well done @PenelopePerseveres and @discov too🎉

@HeidiNotSoHeavy 👏 on next summer holiday!! We’re waiting for BA to release their flights to hopefully use reward flights for next summer. Always good to have something to look forward to!!

discov · 24/07/2025 12:03

@MJalltheway amazing work!! Well done! I wear the M&S ‘Good Move’ leggings as they have a drawstring on the inside of the waist so you can pull them in tight when they start getting a bit loose. I have been really impressed with them.

@Jins you look fabulous! Looking good in a wetsuit is no mean feat. I think the next time you need a new wetsuit a size small or even xs will be calling your name.

@Zempy I’ve got rid of all my too big knickers now and have a drawer full of size 10 pants which fit me perfectly! Pyjamas are another story. They are all hanging off me but I’ve been pulling the drawstrings in. It’s my birthday soon as I’ve asked for new pjs 😃

@Cabinfever20 that is brilliant, well done you!

2025istheyeari · 24/07/2025 12:08

Argh sorry there is a delay between new posts coming in and me putting on posts so missed a whole load! @Jins you look fab, what a great nsv!
@MJalltheway amazing, well done, heathy BMI is brilliant!
@Cabinfever20 wow, that is phenomenal!!!

its all going on here this week with NSV, goals, and great weight loss, go us 💪🏻

BreezyPeer · 24/07/2025 12:21

@Cabinfever20 well done! What a brilliant achievement ❤️

mince3point14159265 · 24/07/2025 12:53

Happy birthday @BreezyPeer ! 🎁🎉🎂🍾🥳 And major congrats on reaching your goal! Wonderful news to celebrate!

Jins · 24/07/2025 12:53

@Cabinfever20 you superstar!

You’ve all said such lovely things about my wetsuit I think it will have to be my going out outfit 🤣😍. I’ve taken a look at it and I think it’s going to be hacked into a shortie. Possibly sleeveless but will keep my options open. A shortie is far more use for my fair weather paddle boarding

meatyryvita · 24/07/2025 16:58

Congrats @BreezyPeer on reaching a healthy weight - what an achievement! Congrats to all losers and best wishes to those feeling unwell or with unwell family members.

We are on holiday in Italy (travelling around northern Italy after a long, multi-stop drive here). After a few days of not enough water or protein and hastily cobbled sandwiches (torn baguette with pre-sliced cheese) eaten by the tailgate, I was expecting to put a pound or so on. The astounding sum of 100g has been lost some way some how, so I shall count my blessings!

Have a great day all!

Happy birthday @BreezyPeer and yay !
Amazing losses and NSV today for pretty much everyone 😊 @PenelopePerseveres you've smashed through that plateau!!

She doesn’t sound much of a friend @Zempy sorry it’s so upset you.

usethedata · 24/07/2025 21:46

Checking in again... it's been a while! I have just crossed the 20kg mark which makes me around half way to target. I'm really happy with this loss and I can "see" it in how I look, although im only really 1 clothes size down. Maybe I was cramming myself into the bigger stuff! My main issue though is how sensitive I am to it and how careful I need to be or I get horrendous diarrhea and vomiting. In the past I could link these episodes to either an increase in dose or eating something I shouldn't, but this week I had 2 days of awful cramps and diarrhea and I've been eating like a saint! All of which means I am dropping back to 3.5mg and may go lower yet. Also considering having a week off to let my body rest a bit, but maybe just lowering the dose will do that.
I do seem to be having lower mood issues too, and worse PMT. Not sure if there is anything I can do about that. But could also be just because I was made redundant... what a summer!

PenelopePerseveres · 25/07/2025 00:43

Well @Jins , not many people look like that in a wetsuit! Fabulous.

@Zempy I hope you're feeling better about things this evening. I too have a lost friend story, friends for 15 years before kids, our eldest children were like siblings. We were like family, from uni and beyond. Still on LinkedIn and still really career focused but I have not heard from her for ten years. We were so close that she literally came to wherever I was in the world for a couple of weeks every year and when I returned to England we spent at least a weekend a month together with our kids. All that to no contact, no disagreements or arguments, just ghosted. Hard to understand but I've always suspected a new, controlling man.

@usethedata well done, sorry about your job. I've reset my goal today after things have started to move, I've now lost 16.3kg with 14.8 to go so I too am half way there more or less, forecast to hit target on 29/12.

Have a nice trip @meatyryvita , I love Northern Italy.

Urgh, I can't sleep tonight, no idea why. I do have a bit of a NSV, I put a suit on for work today and the trousers looked like they belonged to someone else, unwearable they are so big. At about midnight I was thinking about these trousers and my work wardrobe and remembered a L K Bennett tailored dress suit that I haven't been able to wear for at least three years because I was too fat to get the dress over my thighs/hips. I rifled through my wardrobe and tried it on and it fits, perfectly! Really pleased with that.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 25/07/2025 06:46

@usethedata I personally was definitely squeezing myself into clothes way too small, it took forever before they were first comfortable, then roomy and then finally actually too big.
But sizes will go way faster when you have less to lose. I keep warning people not to buy an entire new wardrobe when close to the goal - those last few kilos will be another size down.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 25/07/2025 06:48

I have lost almost a kilo again last week (900 gr, taking me to 56.9) and without calorie counting or even trying. Eating what I want. But so used to the small amounts of food, I simply don't want any more food. So weird. My entire life I've been restricting and fighting and now it's so easy.
But will go down with dose and see what happens.

BreezyPeer · 25/07/2025 07:00

Good morning losers! Xx

BreezyPeer · 25/07/2025 07:07

Thank you all for the birthday 🎂 good wishes! Love the friendship and positivity in this group ✨️ xx

DGonMJ · 25/07/2025 07:16

Morning - so many great posts yesterday on losses, targets achieved, NSVs!

Yesterday was a hungry day - I ate 2 breakfasts. I thought that would take the edge off lunch but no, by 1pm I was starving. Then home by 8pm, ravenous after my tube journey got disrupted, and ate a big bowl of chilli con carne and was still hungry - but sat and waited for the satiated hormones to kick in.
Wondering if this is life on a lower dose, or just a one off. I could do with gaining 1 or 2kg, so trying to go with it and eat more…but that feeling of being led by my belly and the hunger taking over my thoughts isn’t so great.

myladyjane · 25/07/2025 08:31

@PenelopePerseveres good work there.

@BreezyPeer yay/happy belated b day. I knew you had it in you

@DGonMJ a hobbit walks amongst us. 100% a fan of a second breakfast.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy I have your voice in my ear every time I go shopping. I am trying to hard to hold on although I did get some tops in the sale. But they are either wrap style so I can do them tighter or slouchy anyway. My summer trousers frankly look bizarre at this stage but I can do it for a few more weeks before the weather turns. Yesterday I wore my favourite dress to work which I’ve not worn for ages. It’s a floaty shirt dress thing. Frankly I looked like a loon - it was loose 3 stone ago….

MJalltheway · 25/07/2025 08:34

Morning all, weigh and jab day today.

SW 101kg
CW 79.1 kg
GW 70 kg
loss this week - 1kg
milestones this week - healthy BMI reached ✅ 20% of bodyweight lost ✅ 70% of the way to goal ✅

My 7th 10mg jab and the losses are still more than enough each week so happy sticking with this for another pen - hopefully won't need to move up at all actually. Happy scale is estimating I'll get to goal in around 12-14 weeks. I managed to get to 75kg myself in 2019 (and sustained it till lockdown!) but haven't been below that for many many years.
Going through my wardrobe AGAIN to move everything down a size. I don't work in the summer holidays and normally when I go back to it in September I find my work clothes are a bit tighter but not this year!

PenelopePerseveres · 25/07/2025 08:35

I bet it’s a one off @DGonMJ .

My weight is down again this morning, I have no idea what my body is doing 🤯.

thanks @myladyjane .

Ouskh have dispatched my pen without the height measurement photo. Must be the next order they apply it to then. I sent a doorway photo. I looked really cross/stern 😂.

PenelopePerseveres · 25/07/2025 08:48

Impressive stats @MJalltheway . I started a bit heavier than you at 104.1kg and have lost 16.5kg so find your figures inspiring. 🏆

discov · 25/07/2025 09:35

Well after my flicker of 8st something yesterday, it really was 8st something this morning! Never thought I could ever be this weight in my life!
