Disappointed with Mounjaro

this is my 5 week on Mounjaro, I moved up a dose on Monday. My appetite is suppressed which I am grateful for, no sickness or upset tum in fact I’m constipated! My issue is this, I have only lost 1 st in these weeks despite calorie deficit …is this normal ? I really thought I would lose a lot quickly.
Sorry to sound so negative but looking for advice to quell my ignorance &
fristration.

You've lost 14lbs in 4 and a bit weeks? That's a lot. Obviously you're more likely to lose more in first couple of weeks but even taking that into consideration, 14 lbs is still a lot. Losing really quickly just isn't sustainable or healthy and will be much harder to keep off.

FiercelyFree · 09/07/2025 13:04

I think that's a good loss, I'm week 6 and 17lbs down so losing at a similar rate to you.

Doggymummar · 09/07/2025 13:05

I lose 4lb a month. A stone is an awful lot.

Dontwanttobeanebsnamum · 09/07/2025 13:06

You’ve lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks and are disappointed. I’m on MJ and if I was loaing weight this fast I would be worried I’m not meeting my nutritionally requirement and about being left with loose skin.

Motnight · 09/07/2025 13:06

@India4 any weight you lose whilst on MJ is because of a calorie deficit.

Comedycook · 09/07/2025 13:07

A stone in five weeks is loads.

I lose 4lb a month. A stone is an awful lot.

Yes that's about the same as me. Just heading into month 4 . I too thought it was a small loss but hoping that's more sustainable whilst I work on retraining my poor eating habits .

SilenceInside · 09/07/2025 13:09

That's loads! What on earth were you expecting? 1 to 2 pounds a week is the expected rate of loss, and some people don't lose anything at all until the higher doses. Honestly, to be disappointed at losing a stone in weight is... surprising.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 09/07/2025 13:11

Did you mean to write 1lb or 1kg rather than 1 stone?

If it was a typo and you've only lost a pound, remember that 2.5mg is a loading dose and many users don't actually lose weight until they go up the doses.

Lookwhoseinsideagain · 09/07/2025 13:11

Put it in perspective, would you have lost a stone in the last 5 weeks without mounjaro? I highly doubt it

Scousebloke · 09/07/2025 13:12

Jesus Christ. ONLY lost a stone in 4 weeks ??.
What were you expecting to lose ?
I think this thread is a wind up.

HansHolbein · 09/07/2025 13:19

What’s your starting BMI?

Titasaducksarse · 09/07/2025 13:31

I'm down 2 stone in 6 months and really pleased as I've consistently lost and kept it off. Therefore averaging 1lb a week but I can go weeks without a loss then have a 5lb drop.
All these I lost a stone plus each month stories are really unhelpful and actually OTT to what you're actually expected to lose.

BedlingtonWillow · 09/07/2025 13:32

In what way is that a bad result? That's a huge amount to lose in a month.

perimenopoppet · 09/07/2025 13:35

Like the others I hope you mean 1kg rather than 1stone. 1 stone is an excellent loss for a your first pen and on the high side of what is considered a sensible effective rate to lose at. I lost about the same in first month then around half of that in second and third - so 2 stone in 12 weeks. I am delighted as it feels sustainable and healthy.

GrimDamnFanjo · 09/07/2025 13:36

It doesn’t melt fat!

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/07/2025 13:40

Honestly, how much were you expecting to lose?

1 stone is 14lb.

The average adult bald eagle is 12lb, 10 dozen large eggs is 15lb. Most newborn babies are about 7lb, so in 4 weeks you have lost 2 babies off of your body. Being realistic, how much more do you think you could have lost in that short a time period?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/07/2025 13:46

You’ve lost a stone in a month and you’re frustrated?!? How much did you think you were going to lose?? And where on earth did you get the idea it would be more than that?!?

Honestly, TikTok has a lot to answer for!

You need to bin your expectations! If you’re ‘frustrated’ now, wait till you stall for a couple of months or have a gain! Mounjaro is not magic. It will not make you lose half your body weight overnight (it took me a year!). It merely supports you staying in a longer term calorie deficit than you’d be able to on your own. A healthy weight loss is 1-3lbs a week. Amy more than that and you are risking serious health conditions as well as the loss of a load of hair.

Clam down and be patient!

FlowersFawb · 09/07/2025 13:46

I'm 24 weeks in and 4 stone 11 pounds down (67lbs) so 2-3lbs a week.

Twinstudy · 09/07/2025 13:55

How much did you expect to lose?! A stone in five weeks is loads. It doesn't instantly dissolve fat 😂

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 09/07/2025 13:55

I've lost five stone in a year, so 1-2lbs a week on average and there have been stalls and minor gains along the way too. It's still an absolute miracle!

socks1107 · 09/07/2025 13:59

A stone in a month is a lot! Takes me 3 months to lose a stone calorie counting

PutThe · 09/07/2025 14:05

That is a lot! I wouldn't want to lose any faster than that.

Redlightbulb · 09/07/2025 14:13

Just to echo what others have said on here a stone in a month is a great loss for your 1st month.
I don't think you will find many on this board who thinks that's a slow loss.
The average since I started nearly a year ago is about 1.4 pounds a week with the last 6 months being 1 pound a week.
That's with having 9 stone to lose from the start.
Don't be taken in with those on social media.
It's not a race to lose the most weight in the least possible amount of time.
Keep going :)

Gingercar · 09/07/2025 14:14

What were you expecting?
