New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

Thank you all, feeling thrilled with how its going!!

@Arglefraster I’m painting, with acrylic! Thoroughly enjoying it too!

In keeping with the MJ tribulations, managed to extract a 6th dose from my 10mg pen. Have been taking 5 doses of 8mg and not bothering with the golden as felt I was getting a decent deal and since the hard twist stopped performing, and never bothered getting proper needles. Managed to use a pliers to hard twist and it didn’t break, so feeling very thrifty!! It also gives me an extra week leeway while my supplier gets stocked.

Another Asda update attached. I am expecting my order to be either cancelled or on hold in the next day or two. I’d like them to hold it and honour the prices, but my guess is they will cancel me.

Some poor grammar here - some poor panicked soul clearly working overtime!!

I’m in the same position @Darlinghag with Pharmulous. My regular order from last week is still marked as processing and they are listed on monj as out of stock on all strengths. It would be good if they honoured the order but I’m expecting it to be cancelled.
I did manage to get a pen from a previous supplier so have a month to figure out what to do next.

Evenstar · 18/08/2025 09:26

I am with ASDA, have been all along, I have just collected a 12.5 so have five weeks worth, but it’s hard to know what will happen with reordering. I haven’t heard from them at all which is disappointing

GiveMeWordGames · 18/08/2025 10:27

Happy MJ anniversary @Darlinghag and you've done amazingly well.

Jab day today - and after 21 weeks I am finally, officially no longer obese AND I'm just into the 13s.

SW 17st 4
CW 13st 13.75
GW 11-12 stone

It puts my BMI at 29.7, down from 36.8 at the start. Very pleased.

On the topic of fridges, I have two purely because my kitchen is so tiny there's only room for an undercounter one in there, so we had to put the main fridge-freezer in the dining room. I've never had cause to be pleased about this arrangement until now.😬

I gave myself a right scare yesterday when I was juggling things around the main fridge. It was my Mum's birthday and her and my Aunt were over for lunch. The open MJ pen (only done one jab from it) box fell out and when I picked it and all the spare needles up, the pen was nowhere to be seen. I'm scratting around on the floor, looking under the fridge, under the dining table, the sideboard. Nothing. It was only as I stood up and paced around in a panic that I felt it in one of the very loose pockets in the front of my dress. It had fallen straight into the pocket! Luckily my Mum and Aunt were outside in the sunshine on the other side of the house, oblivious to all the drama. 😂

AnneinEdinburgh · 18/08/2025 10:41

Pharmacy2U is meant to be delivering 15mg pen today hooray

gimmemounjaro · 18/08/2025 11:30

Congrats to @Darlinghag on the anniversary and @GiveMeWordGames on being merely overweight 💪💪

RobinEllacotStrike · 18/08/2025 12:02

Congratulations on your MJ Anniversary @Darlinghag & all you have accomplished this last year. So well done & I've very much enjoyed being part of this process with you via these threads.

Hi everyone!

A small gain for me this week and I have noticed a pattern. Whenever we have really hot weather, I dont cook properly and because I have lots of fruit trees and the plums are in full swing, I have been mostly eating them! So, its been a high carb week, like it was with the last heatwave, when I also lived on fruit and also gained.

SW - 20st 3lbs Aug 24
CW - 14st 4.6lbs Aug 25
WG - +1.2lbs

This week is cooler, so I will be back to cooking proper meals and that should get be back on track for my weigh in next week.

I am also dropping my dose down again to 4.5mg = 54mls/clicks. If the food noise stays away at this dose I will stick with it for a few weeks, then consider dropping or staying again.

Have a great week everybody!😊

Evenstar · 18/08/2025 16:54

Quite concerned about the stock shortages, have been on ASDA website this afternoon and there is nothing available over 5mg and I am currently on 12.5mg, hope things will settle down before I need a new pen at the beginning of September ☹️

I expect I will just have to pay the higher price.

taylorswift1989 · 18/08/2025 19:45

I got an email from Bolt pharmacy today saying that they're approving my 10mg pen and it will be sent in 1 - 2 days. Hopefully no problems with that. I'm a new customer to them but I guess they have enough stock for now. Just a heads up in case anyone is still looking.

I'm currently on 7.5 and was planning to go up to 10 but have now decided to go down to 5mg and make my pens last twice as long. I know this is not ideal but I'm thinking of it as like going onto maintenance (even though I still have loads to lose). If it doesn't work for me then I guess that will be the end of the road, as there's no way I can afford the tripled prices. But I'm trying to be optimistic! Maybe there will be a way forward for all of us who need it. Let's hope so!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 18/08/2025 21:34

I am feeling really worried about all this price hike and limited access.
Shemed haven't said anything yet. I am awaiting approval of my next pen.

alltablenochairs · 18/08/2025 23:18

Grrrrrrr,
Missed the pharmacy2u delivery today so its gone back to the depot. Of course I cant collect it because they're delivering it tomorrow (whyyyyyy) so not only do I have to actually be in or tell the teen to be in, I'm probably getting a warm pen for my efforts. Not the biggest deal because that can be my 'non fridge' pen for the month. What's more annoying though is that the other parcel delivered with it (temu stuff) got shoved under my garden gate like they usually do if I am not in. This is why I usually avoid anyone delivering RM. At least DPD give you a timeslot and they will also garden gate stuff. My garden gate is solid, the fence cant be climbed and unless you're a 6 year old or a cat you're not getting under the gate. Parcels are perfectly safe.

More annoyances. I used my left leg this week and it would seem that allodynia is also annoying me. Its so flipping painful- if anything touches it, it hurts. Clothes hurt. If I am cold it hurts. Blankets also hurt. As my style is very much tunic+trousers I either have to put up with it or go half undressed. Around the house is fine. In public- nah. Does anyone else get this?

Reginaphalangeeeee · 18/08/2025 23:32

@alltablenochairsI have never injected into my legs, a tummy only girl. I have not heard others have this response but if over front of thigh sounds like meralgia parenthetical. Is it just since injection?

So frustrating you missed delivery of your pen.

QueenOfHiraeth · 19/08/2025 00:29

@alltablenochairs How frustrating! Is it because RM need a signature?
I used Ashcroft for a while and they used a RM before 1pm delivery which was great as it came in a little Postman Pat van separate from the normal post. When their prices went up I moved to SwiftDoctor who use RM 24hr or DPD. By us DPD are useless and I couldn't cope with that stress so I opt for RM but it comes with the normal postie which can be any time in the afternoon and they do need a signature

Arglefraster · 19/08/2025 01:02

Oh that's wonderful @Darlinghagmy friend was showing me photos of her art in a local exhibition recently. She was away so they had written the blurb for her & it was epic🤣 she said she had no idea that she was such a deep thinker when all she wanted to do was play with colour!

Oh mabel you lucky thing with plum trees . My daughters have been absolutely delighted by next door's tree spilling all over our side of the wall! I've never seen so many plums on that tree in 20yrs!

That sounds horrible @alltablenochairsi hope it resolves quickly. Couriers do my head in we had one leave a box on our front step today - didn't so much as knock & we were ALL in !

HumBumBum · 19/08/2025 09:17

My existing supplier has just confirmed my order, I am so relieved - I won’t run out now!
Have cancelled my new customer call with Oushk (will save until I’m ready to go onto maintenance, if I can afford it by then)

Darlinghag · 19/08/2025 09:17

Thank you again, folks.

@Evenstar Asda’s comms have been shocking. They’ve always been poor in that sense but I have hardly needed it, so stayed, and in recent months incredibly slow to approve/dispatch but its taking the biscuit now!! My order is still processing, I can only hope its slid down the pile in the hope they can get stock in to fill it before it needs to be cancelled. I will give them til Friday and I will call them.
I’ve been keeping an eye on Zava’s site too, given its the same place.

I’m hoping that the delay in informing is due to some decent news around pricing, maybe it won’t be one of the top ones. I can live in hope lol!!

@Arglefraster thank you! I’ m really enjoying it. I am no master at it, but its been such a good experience!

Evenstar · 19/08/2025 09:32

@Darlinghag let’s hope 🤞🏻

MooBaggage · 19/08/2025 09:50

Feel like I've missed lots of posts, but needed to take a tiny mini break, as I was getting too bloody stressed with the MJ stock/ordering/prices palavers...

I've now told myself that it is what it is - nothing to be done except for (a) factor in the cost to future budget planning and (b) not panic that I'm going to run out! I've placed an order this morning with Ashcroft, who seem to have stock of 7.5mg pens at not much more expensive than I paid last time - if the order goes through that will at least give me a few weeks.

Sigh. This is the kind of thing that would have massively have de-railed me in the past - I'd have used it as an excuse to stop all together and misery eat until the weight was all back on.

Thankfully, as I'm still on Mounjaro (and have 1 x more dose left!) I can think rationally and not hunt for excuses to eat/drink.

So, although I haven't lost weight this week (good lord it's all slowed down!), I'm OK and talking myself into getting back in a positive frame of mind.

Onwards and downwards! 😊

Welcome back @MooBaggage and not surprised you were getting stressed with it all. The world has gone mad thanks to the orange buffoon and even the calm and non bitchy discussion channel got derailed by bitchiness. OMMMMMM

What is the opposite of an NSV? I used to spend a lot of time reading in bed morning and evening lying on my side with my trusty kindle propped up on a pillow. It was always lovely and I used to drop off and have to find where the hell I had got to in my book as my finger and gone on autopilot. It has now become uncomfortable - and I finally worked out why, my previously very padded thighs are a little less padded and now it isn't comfortable at all. Well worth it but ... :-)

Hang in there everyone and definitely onwards and downwards

Anne x

Arglefraster · 19/08/2025 10:59

I'm joining you in the ommmmm Anne 😆

No idea if I'm getting a pen next week so delaying my last dose that's due today until I do. Also determined not to be derailed moo especially what I have two far bigger stresses going on just now but a dear friend has just died (it was his time & long expected) which really puts things into perspective.

Trinck · 19/08/2025 11:01

SW 17st 11

I'm into my 2nd pen, 1 stone down. Been stressing about finding a supplier for my third pen. I plan to swap supplier and get discounts each month so have been worried about not being able to buy as a new customer from anywhere and having to have sn extra-big jump paying existing customer prices without a discount.

But I managed to ordered from Juniper yesterday morning as a new customer. £154 for 7.5mg, which I don't think is bad. I got the dispatch notification today, which I am incredibly relieved about!
That was with a referral code.

I have a £75 referral code if anyone needs it.

I'm actually happy on 5mg. My plan to save money though is to get my prescription up to 10mg but then only take doses of 5mg from the pen. I figure, with the bonus 1 dose at the end of the pen, I'll get 10 weeks of 5mg from one circa £190-200 pen. So about equivalent to the £100 my first two pens were.

I know this isn't ideal. I'm not risk averse though and am willing to minimise and manage the potential risks with good hygiene and fridge storage.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/08/2025 11:16

thats a great start @Trinck !

Are you sure its worth it chasing codes & changing suppliers all the time? I've been with the same supplier for over a year and I paid £154 + £5 P&P for 7.5mg without using any codes. I choose a supplier with no codes but sensible pricing through all the strengths.

Of course it might be all change now, with the price increase, but playing the code game to date hasn't necessarily been any cheaper.

The potential problem with your plan to use 10mg to dose 5mg is the risk of contamination of the pen/medication as the seal will be punctured more than double the amount of times its designed for.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 19/08/2025 11:36

@Trinckinterested in how I can make the most of my pens going forward. I thought once opened.. It had to be used within 30days?
Have I misunderstood this?
I know the golden dose (5th week) does take you over this slightly but only about 5 days. Is it safe to use the pen much after that?
