Excellent work everyone!

I went to the cinema and was able to CROSS MY LEGS!! I’m stunned!

Once you start you can’t stop! 😂

Excellent work everyone!

I went to the cinema and was able to CROSS MY LEGS!! I’m stunned!

Last time I was down to a healthy weight I could do that double cross thing where you tuck your foot behind your leg. Really hoping to hit that milestone again as I remember feeling such a slinky little thing 😂

GnomeDePlume · 07/07/2025 03:27

@Iwouldratherbesinging absolutely stunning views. Well done! Such an achievement.

Motnight · 07/07/2025 08:43

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne belated happy birthday 🎈

GnomeDePlume · 07/07/2025 08:54

Tried on some clothes over the weekend. Now more confused than ever about what size I am. I think the problem is that I don't have anything which actually fits.

I need to go through my wardrobe and pull out all the things which definitely don't fit and see what I'm left with.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 06/07/2025 23:07

Once you start you can’t stop! 😂

I always sit with my legs crossed now 😂

I feel a bit at a standstill with weight loss at the moment, I'll obviously just continue as I have been but now it's slowed down so much it's affecting my motivation.

I really need to do some new progress photos as well maybe that will help me a long a bit.

GnomeDePlume · 07/07/2025 14:11

I do find weightloss and size/shape change can be a bit disconnected.

A bit peeved, I went up to 12.5 to try to reduce my diabetes symptoms especially skin infections. What have I got? A little painful skin infection in my tummy overhang. That's not fair, I'm losing weight, eating healthily, avoiding added sugar and processed carbs in general.

Muckypup2017 · 07/07/2025 16:15

Hi lovely people.
I hope you don't mind me joining you. I have my first pen being delivered tomorrow and am both excited and terrified.
I have been overweight all my adult life. I was at my heaviest in 2011 at over 32 stone. I had a gastric sleeve in 2012 and at that point was 27 stone. I lost around 8 stone and then gradually it all went back on again. In March this year I was back up to 27 stone. Since then I have tried to change my mindset and have been working on 'rewiring' my thoughts around food. It has taken me a long time to take the decision to see if Mounjaro can help me (having 'failed' with the sleeve). I have bad lipodema in my legs and have read some reports that it may help reduce inflammation so decided to give it a go :)
I am starting out at 24st 11lbs as have lost just over 2 stone since March. I look forward to sharing my journey and learning from you all

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/07/2025 16:24

Welcome @Muckypup2017
Very best of luck.

I think I can say that everyone on the thread has found that MJ has changed their lives.

Wow @TragicMuse!!! I was aware on Saturday that that nsv is on sight for me... But not yet!! I can't wait!! And can compeltely share in your excitement!!

And having said I haven't needed new clothing.... Its like overnight I've been aware that my size 26 seasalt dresses are... Baggy. I went through a stage where they just fitted better (I had so got bigger so just slimmed into them) but now there's definite extra material. And my size 26 leggings are baggy on the thigh. As in loose.

Its quite exciting!! It's taken me 6 months to get here and aware those on the other groups go down clothes sizes much quicker but it's exciting to finally be happening here! I think I'll keep wearing them and get some need some new clothes for the new term in September but like pp - I genuinely have no idea what I'd get. My weight-loss me at this size is carrying fat v differently to the me that was this size on the way up. My shoulders and general me-Ness is slimmer (less inflammation) but it's all sunk into my stomach/hips. I still measure a larger size if I go by measurements around my middle.

I have a size 18-20 cardi (I'm not 18-20 hut they didn't have bigger and I reasoned it would just hang so is only back and. Arm size) and it's perfect!! But anything round my middle would be much much bigger. I've got some 24 and 22 leggings as I tend to live in them with dresses. 24 fits, 22 feels okay.

I'm very very tired at the moment and finding sleeping a challenge. Lots on.

I'm starting rebelfit for strength work.....

TheZingyFish · 07/07/2025 17:42

Week 13
SW 24st 9lbs
CW 21st 13.5lbs
Total lost 2st 9.5lbs

Another loss, not huge but is consistently coming off. I went through my last Slimming World losses, I keep everything in a spreadsheet, and the best I ever managed was 3 consecutive weeks of losing weight, whereas I’ve now lost 13 weeks running on MJ. That is the reason why this is successful, I’m not losing huge amounts every week but I am losing every week. It is so easy to think 2 lb a week is easy so that is 52 x 2 =104 lbs in a year which is over 7 stone but it is so difficult to lose something every week even when it is a “small” amount.

I’m feeling much happier in myself so a huge thank you to those who’ve kept me going in my low moments.

TragicMuse · 07/07/2025 18:49

I had a major challenge at work today. All the leftovers from a team meeting came into my office. Sausage rolls, cheese straws, sandwiches. Cake.

Dammit I was so sensible!

I allowed myself some bits and pieces but counted all of it.

But it was hard, for a change. I’ve been fine with doughnuts, but savoury is absolutely my thing and ignoring a sausage roll was beyond me!!

Still, it’s all counted, and I’m still within my day’s calories.

I used to suffer a lot with skin infections and HS but started showering with Hibiscrub about 10 years ago and the difference was amazing. Went to USA once for three weeks and forgot to take it and they came back. I highly recommend it ☺️

SilenceInside · 07/07/2025 18:57

@Muckypup2017 hello and welcome to the thread. Congratulations on losing 2 stone so far since March and hope your first week on Mounjaro goes well for you.

@Lds1 new progress photos sound like a great idea. I think on our long weight loss journeys there are periods where it all gets a bit tiresome and demotivating as you say. But we keep plodding on!

Sorry to hear about your skin infection @GnomeDePlume it is particularly unfair when you’re doing everything right! Hopefully it will clear up soon and not reoccur.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGardeni am very excited for you that you’re at the point where new clothes are needed! A Vinted spree needed, maybe? I lived in stretchy leggings/tights and dresses for ages, it’s only been very recently that I’ve bought jeans and more structured dresses/tops.

@TheZingyFish congratulations on another loss, you’re very right that they all add up and it’s the long term consistency that gets the results.

TragicMuse · 07/07/2025 19:11

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden and @GnomeDePlume

Do you each have a John Lewis within reach? They stock Live Unlimited and I’d recommend a personal shopper session. Most of their stylists have insta accounts I think, so you can see their own style, and then book one you like the look of, maybe?

There’s no obligation to buy, and I found it so empowering, it completely changed my relationship to clothes, even before the MJ.

Worth thinking about…

I found at the John Lewis in Oxford St that there were really limited choices offered to me when I was a size 16/18 and used a personal shopper. To be fair I got what I needed and was shown stuff I wouldn't have normally considered but there wasn't a huge choice.

GnomeDePlume · 07/07/2025 19:52

Thank you @Iwouldratherbesinging I will take a look at hibiscrub.

That is a good suggestion @TragicMuse, thank you, I will take a look and perhaps go for this when I am closer to goal. At the moment I'm not keen to go to wild about clothes. I'm still barrel shaped so I would like to see what shape I am going to be.

I have some deadstock stretch denim and a pattern for jeans on the way. This will be a new challenge as I havent made jeans before and I definitely need some new ones.

52soon · 07/07/2025 22:34

no jab for me today, I’m going in for surgery tomorrow under General Anaesthetic, day surgery so hoping to Jab Wednesday all being well. Stayed the same this week even though showed 1lb loss earlier in week.

Kay2000 · 07/07/2025 22:35

I’ve finally started losing weight again (yay! Am below 19 stone!) however I’m also losing my hair. My husband says I’ll be skinny and bald by the time this is over. Please tell me this is temporary? It’s definitely not due to “rapid weight loss” as Google suggests, as I’ve been doing an average of 1-2lb a week and none for 3 weeks until I managed to tolerate 7.5 without diarrhoea after weeks at 6.25mg.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden my 26/28 Seasalt are hanging off me now and trousers are getting longer (!) and at risk of falling down. My bust has finally gone down 2” to 52, but needs to shrink more before I can fit into a 24 top.

I went out for lunch last Friday with my husband and got shown to a wicker style chair that 6 months ago I’d have had to ask to swap but this time, I fitted in it, such a good feeling. Worth going bald for - well, maybe 😂

Good luck for today, hope your procedure goes smoothly.

@Kay2000 I am losing a lot of hair, luckily its very thick so I don't think its all that noticeable. I think its called telogen effluvium. Its to do with losing a lot of weight and changing your diet which puts your hair into a resting state and then after a few months you shed all that hair. Its supposed to be temporary and your body will adapt to it and it should regrow

Motnight · 08/07/2025 07:17

Good luck @52soon

52soon · 08/07/2025 07:39

Sat on the ward waiting, wishing they would make hospital gowns that go all the way around you!
