Best wishes for your procedure @52soon

NSV of the day: I can now move well enough in the shower to be able to begin to tackle the much needed exfoliating of legs and particularly my ankles. Quite frankly it was disgusting! But little by little it is improving.

Southwest12 · 08/07/2025 10:49

I reordered from Zava yesterday and had to do BMI verification photos. One on the scales, and two of your body (with some of your stomach on show!!). That part was not pleasant. Then it was approved almost immediately, which makes me think it was an automated approval. Hey ho.

I'm three days over due from when I would normally jab, but am not at all hungry (very miserable so maybe that's why) so am going to see how long I can go.

Was away at a conference last week and most people hadn't seen me for a year. It was a surgical conference so actually nice to just reply, yes there's 32% less of me thanks to GLP1s. Medics really see the benefits, there's lots of trials being looked at that plan to use GLP1s in auto immune conditions and in cancer. Very exciting times.

4 stone down! Just sharing my progress.
For the LONGEST time I was in a plateau, maintaining the same 2lbs for about 6 long weeks. Very frustrated at myself. But broken though this last week and the weight is falling off again😃

@mamabeeboo congratulations on getting through the plateau, and getting to 4 stone down! Great progress pictures too!

I love those PJ's! Well done in the weight loss

Billybingbong · 08/07/2025 12:48

Amazing progress pictures. It just shows it works, despite the blips and bumps along the way

Ive had a sneaky mid week weigh in today, and have hit 3st loss, so another happy bunny here

@52soon Good luck with your surgery, hope you're soon on the road to recovery

GnomeDePlume · 08/07/2025 15:05

@Southwest12 that's interesting about GLP1s being used for autoimmune conditions. I have an autoimmune blood disorder and also my immune system has done for my thyroid. It was also suggested that my immune system may have caused my T2 diabetes.

Basically, my immune system hates me 😀.

PearlsPearl · 08/07/2025 15:41

Welcome @Muckypup2017 hope your first week goes well

I had a realisation today that the gym leggings I bought 2 or 3 months ago, and worried they were too tight, are now baggy on me as I keep hoisting them up. Feels good.

TragicMuse · 08/07/2025 17:12

I’m feeling a bit slinky today! Wearing a skirt I made years ago, which fits nicely, and my stomach isn’t leading the way as it has for so long. And my makeup was complimented today too! I feel good and positive!

52soon · 08/07/2025 18:58

Thanks for all the good wishes, back home now and the wait for biopsy results begin. Blood sugars stayed good and BP in the 120’s I’m usually in the high 140’s even with medication so hopefully that’s the mounjaro working. Only eaten seaded toast so far today so might have a meal replacement shake later just to get some calories in.

Muckypup2017 · 09/07/2025 12:25

Good morning everyone. I want to ask if anyone had bloating/water retention when starting mounjaro. I took my first dose last night and weighed myself this morning to record my 'start weight' and had put on 5lbs since yesterday morning! I have just weighed myself again to check it wasn't an anomaly on the scales and have put on another 2lb! I haven't yet eaten today but have drunk a litre of water plus a cup of tea. I do feel very bloated. Does anyone have any tips? Thank you

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 09/07/2025 17:05

Hi @Muckypup2017 I've never experienced that, nor have I heard of anyone else that has happened to.

As you've put on half a stone overnight (WTF) I think you should discuss this with your provider.

@Muckypup2017 I would suspect the scales are not accurate. If digital, could the batteries be low? Are they on a flat stable surface etc etc?

You can't have actually put on 7 pounds of fat or water in less than 24 hours, I don't know what mechanism could possibly achieve that. So, it must be an issue with the scales!

Thank you for your response @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne . I do have lipedema and can retain water for England 😀. I am starting to feel a bit better this afternoon and have been drinking peppermint tea and nursing a hot water bottle. I am hoping things will sort themselves out overnight but if things don't improve I will get advice 🙏. Thanks again.

They can be temperamental which is why I weighed a couple of times. It is also possible the batteries are getting low. I know I haven't put on 7lbs of fat and did feel very bloated and have some fluid retention in my legs also. So it is possible they are correct but I am hoping things will sort themselves out and I will.have a very impressive loss in the next couple of days (which obviously also won't be fat loss!). Fingers crossed 🤞

mamabeeboo · 09/07/2025 19:18

@Muckypup2017 it's definitely not fat, you would have had to eat a whole supermarket to pile that on overnight.
Try new scales or batteries in your current ones.
The advice about averages is also relevant - it's normal to go up and down but as long as the general trend is downwards, you're on the right track.

If you don't see the weight settle, maybe GP? I'm not sure what to suggest.

NSV: I had an everything shower and could actually see my nunny instead of shaving blind!

That has to be the best NSV I've ever heard 🤣🤣

WafflingDreamer · 10/07/2025 05:36

Weigh in number 40
SW 21st 9lb (BMI 44.7)
CW 15st 13lb (BMI 32.9)
GW 11st 9lb (BMI 24.1)
3lb down this week
Losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, +3, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 1, 0, 2, 3, 1, 2, 2, 0, 1, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3
Total loss 80lbs / 5st 10lb
Broke into the 15's this week and hopefully I can reach 6st down within the next few weeks. 15st 9lb (exactly 6st down) will also put me under 100kgs. Still in size 20 bottoms though, I think I'll need to get into the 14s to get into size 18 bottoms

GnomeDePlume · 10/07/2025 05:52

@WafflingDreamer great results!

Clothes sizes are so variable though. Especially once above a size 14. It wouldnt surprise me at all if you skipped size 18 and went straight to a 16.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/07/2025 06:10

I've so not lost weight evenly. I've got a size 20 cardigan (as it is one that just hangs - so fits my back and arms). But at 17st 4 I'm still size 24 round my middle. I've got some 24 leggings which fit and some 22 I got for future which I can wear but are tighter. When I sit on the loo (!) it's like all my body fat decided to go to my stomach and have a party!

GnomeDePlume · 10/07/2025 06:16

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 109kg BMI 42.6
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

2.5 lbs in the week. I'm very happy with that. CW 17 stone 2 lbs in old money. The 16s are getting close! Loss to date 4 stone 6 lbs. Loss to go to GW 7 stone 3 lbs. Which rather puts it in perspective.

Started working on a pattern for jeans last night. It feels like madness to be working on something that I can squeak into knowing that when they are finished I will weigh less than when I started. This is the opposite of all my sewing for me up until now.

I'm meeting a friend for lunch in Brighton in a couple of weeks so I really need to get a new top made by then. Trousers are going to be tricky. I have a pair which are a bit loose but in a couple of weeks they could be very loose. I have never had this problem before.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/07/2025 06:50

Yay for loose trousers! I am in awe of your clothes making ability ❤️.
I had a similar moment this week as I'm 6 months in and a bit reflective. I've lost 4.5 stone and was feeling good about that... But Ive got 6.5 to go just to get to the very top enf of healthy (and I know weight loss usually slows down after the initial period...!)

Its a long journey isn't it!

Muckypup2017 · 10/07/2025 07:14

Thank you all for your support yesterday. I have woken up this morning feeling so much better and have now lost 6 out of the 7lbs of mystery 'bloat/water retention ' so am very happy. Onwards and downwards for day 2 😆. I hope you all have a great day ❤️
