I’m an elephant’s brain.

HOW is an elephant’s brain smaller than its penis?

I’ve met some men with that ‘problem’

I have lost only 59 lbs. Is there a category of slightly under-endowed elephants?

They wouldn't admit it though.

In my experience, men invariably tend to over-estimate their penile dimensions. I daresay that male elephants are the same.

🤣🤣

Well we women all know that men think with their cocks, not their brains, so...............

I have lost almost 39% of my starting weight.

Wow! That's essentially two fifths of me!

Oh I've lost, 117 = an average fashion model and she’s 5’11”

Also if I've done the maths right, I've lost 37.25% of myself.

PearlsPearl · 05/07/2025 10:10

Hmmm, weighed myself (unofficially- only logging monthly weighs) and I've only lost 2lb in 10 days. Just shows all of those little chocolates here and there that I mentioned and the daily caramel lattes I was having with my mum on dog walks have made a difference. As I lost 1.6 stone in the first month.

Going back to basics today, no more little things creeping back in. Mum and family have left now and took all the treats with them!

Curse my weak willpower and sweet tooth. I'm going up to 2.5 this week after 6 weeks on 1.25.

@PearlsPearl 2lb in ten days is fine, I think.

Wk19 weigh in this morning (wk7 on 5mgs) … holiday period for me (2 foodie weekends and an all inclusive cruise) so have been a bit up and down but back on it as soon as I got home from cruise. Results are in … I’ve lost 3lbs!!! So 16% of my start weight lost and losing an average of 2.3lbs per week.

Start weight (15 Feb 25) / BMI: 19st 9lbs / 44.4 (obese class 3)
Current weight / BMI: 16st 7lbs / 37.3 (obese class 2)

Wks 1-4 (2.5mg): -17lbs
Wks 5-8 (2.5mg): -6lbs
Wks 9-12 (2.5mg): -11lbs
Wks 13-16 (5mg): -7lbs
Wk17: -0lbs
Wk18: cruise/hols
Wk19: 3lbs
Total loss: 44lbs

NSV:
Wore vest tops/shorts and swimsuits, and no-one was injured lol
Clothes sizes are down from 24 tops to 18, and 22 bottoms to 18
Measured for new bras, was 42J now 40GG

Goal 1: 10% of starting weight (27.5lbs loss) ✅
Goal 2: 10% of wk11 weight (22.4lbs loss, total 49.9 loss)
End Goal: healthy BMI (between 18.5 and 24.9 (8.4st-11st) for my height)

Billybingbong · 05/07/2025 17:45

Back from holiday, and week 13 weigh in, 1 day later than usual. Another 2lb off, which I am delighted with. Just 2 more lb to 3st, hopefully next week 🤞

SW 22st 8lb
CW 19st 10lb
GW 11st 4lb

This trip was so different to usual. Our holidays are usually quite sedentary, with minimal activity. But this time, we did loads of hill walking, had a whole day wandering round the nearby city centre, hired some mountain bikes (my backside was sore for 2 days after!!), and just had a jolly good time. I feel like I've found the happiness and freedom I never had pre MJ. I'm convinced its not just the weight loss that's made such a difference, mounjaro does so much more than that, its altered my entire mindset, and helped me realise my worth. I am enjoying every minute of this journey 🥰

TragicMuse · 05/07/2025 18:33

I know exactly what you mean @Billybingbong

My whole face cleaning skin regime is a new-me thing. My skin looks and feels fabulous, but I’m also really enjoying looking after it properly. Just taking care of myself I suppose…

Agree. A lb a week is normal /average

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 06/07/2025 06:11

Yes 2lb in 10 days is good!

So last night's musings (not in a shower this time!)

I went to hear one of my children play on an orchestra (lovely evening) and even though we are not at Sitting With Legs Crossed stage I could happily sit at Almost Sitting With Legs Crossed. Sort of one ankle over the other leg (if that makes any sense).

So I did that all evening alternating ankles (thrilling stuff going on here!).

And not having such a round stomach in front affects everything. It was mainly a slim crowd - but I felt less self conscious and just aware how much more space I have around me than when I last went to something like this!

Also... Walk back to the car park has an inclined road and couple of flights of steps. First time ever I've not paused halfway to breathe... Or moaned...

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 06/07/2025 06:42

Strength work - can anyone give me any tips where to start? I have some low weighted dumbells and in moments of inspiration in the past I've enjoyed arm exercises. I struggle to squat and when I've done so regularly seem to get pain in my bum/hip/legs so probably haven't got it right and then worry about technique for pretty much everything in case I "break myself".

I'd love to develop a regular routine (alongside walking which admittedly flags now an then when I get exhausted) but I get overwhelmed looking at random yoga bits then weights and then stretches and not sure what to do to "get it right". I can't afford a gym (and would struggle to fit it in) but 15-20 mins fairly regulalry could be a thing. I need a "thing" to follow or a routine and I googled the general mumsnet threads but I'm SO not at Joe Wicks level or bouncing around or anything... I thought maybe someone here might have some inspiration!?

(I'm also so aware of the need to protect our bones as well as muscle - is strength work the main thing we need to do during a big weight loss journey or am I missing other things too?)

OvertiredandConfused · 06/07/2025 07:11

A bit late, but can I join you please?

I started at the end of January. Today will be jab 23. Did one month on 2.5mg, one on 5mg, three months on 10mg and now just starting third week on 10mg.

SW 21st 10lbs
CW 17st 8.5lbs
GW1 13st
Loss so far 4st 1.5lbs

I’m averaging between 1.5lbs and 2lbs a week now. I know that’s nice and steady but I’m not eating my calorie allowance most days. If my water intake drops for a day, I’m stuffed. Which isn’t great on days I’m out and about as I need the loo constantly.

We’re going away for 2.5 weeks soon (to France) and I’m dreading not being able to drink enough because finding a loo in rural France is not easy. I can’t up activity levels as I’m a wheelchair user. My goal is to come back no heavier than I am now.
