Al, you lucky people getting a holiday. Jealous. I am about to fet two months garden leave so although I won't be able to afford a holiday, and I'm not allowed to leave the country as I have to be available to work if they decide they want me I am hoping to have a look at some gyms , you never know, I might go

Doggymummar · 23/07/2025 15:36

3lbs is not so bad, so long as you had a great time

getthingsdone · 23/07/2025 15:47

Thanks for your kind wishes @doggymummar and @Iwouldratherbesinging😊! My doctor's appointment this morning went well. The second mammogram was clinically inconspicious so I am very relieved and happy. As promised I went right back on track following my eating plan and exercise plan.

Doggymummar · 23/07/2025 15:51

Oh such great news @getthingsdone what a relief

afaloren · 23/07/2025 17:22

NSV: bought a dress in Marks and Spencer and it’s a size 18! It is a swing style and I know M&S sizing is generous so not kidding myself I’m an 18 overall (I am definitely not) but it’s still exciting just to be able to see, try on and buy something off the rack. I usually have to order my clothes online.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 23/07/2025 19:23

Great news @getthingsdone - you must feel so relieved.

I guess a sort of NSV for me - I’ve just completed the third run (and so the first week) of the None 2 Run programme. I did the first two runs at home on my walking treadmill but today I thought “fuck it” and I went for a run outside. And you know what? It was absolutely fine. Not sure I’d exactly describe it as fun but it certainly wasn’t horrible 😂

Needed a boost because the daily weigh ins this week have shown bugger all progress sadly. Trying to trust the process!

TheBeesTrees · 23/07/2025 22:28

I think I need to start checking this thread daily, it's so inspiring!! Well done to all with weight losses and NSV! And non mumsnetty hugs to @getthingsdone That must have been really stressful.

I have times where I dont want food at all, and other times when I still seem to reach for food, possibly habit, also possibly comfort eating, so I'll need to work on that for sure. And upping my water, I'm a terror for a cold fizzy drink!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 23/07/2025 23:30

Impressed at the running and all the NSV. @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Your photos are amazing. I genuinely can't see where you could lose another 2 stone.... are your scales definitely right...??!?!

My shower thoughts today were simple. I noticed I just get in and out of the shower - and it seems completely natural. I'm not sure when it shifted from finding it a big effort and being nervous of slipping to just getting in for a quick "pits and bits" each morning. I'm definitely showering more often and have less of the dread around doing it.... (partly adhd/depression but it often felt overwhelming.) We also had a non slip thing a year ago when i was even bigger as I was aware of slipping. And... possibly tmi but it is SO much easier to be thorough in cleaning ...

In other news I'm feeling more confident in myself. Mix of reasons for this but I went into the hairdressers and didn't panic about the mirror. I feel good. I'm almost the other way with thinking I'm thinner than I am - so I get a bit of a shock when I look at a photo. But I think its an ease in my body.

I'm getting back into my walks (although short today I just marched up the path and back for 20 mins and realised it was just something I could do - not an effort) and also following an at-home weights programme. Baby weights and stretches now but I completely believe it will improve which is so different to before.

Weigh in this Friday - I am slowing down. Grr. But it is going down. I was a fraction below 17 stone today. As in 16st 13.9999999 so really still 17 but still very exciting to see a 16! I'd really like to see a 13 by Xmas even if its 13st 13 but with it slowing down I'm not sure I'll be quite so lucky. Whatever it is it will be worlds apart from the year before!

Elephantscantjump · 24/07/2025 06:40

Its brilliant to hear how well everyone is getting on! Touch wood my upset stomach has cleared up and hoping that'll be it for a little while SE wise.

I did invest in some pepto bismol as recommended by people and whilst it has to be hands down the worst thing I've ever tasted it did do a good job.

Only thing I truly think I'm missing currently is Pepsi max, I love a fizzy pop and even though I always get sugar free im trying to be more mindful with it.

Looking forward to my NSV starting after seeing everyone's on here!

YAY!! 6 stone down, also puts me under 100kg. I don't really feel like I look that different unless I look at my before and current photos and I'm still in size 20 clothes.

PositiveAttitude · 24/07/2025 07:27

I love all the photos. You are all inspiring me!! And I need it desperately.

I have had a crap week. I was on the verge of giving up to be honest. I went in to the "I am destined just to be fat" mode. I was on week 4 of the 2.5 mg. A week ago I ordered a 5mg pen thinking I would do 2.5mg for a couple of weeks before going up, but by Monday I was feeling as if it was having no effect at all. I have had 3 days of stress eating and feeling crap. So yesterday evening I decided to jab a 5mg 12 hours early, so that I could wake up this morning with a different attitude.

In those 4 weeks I have lost 10lb, so it has not all been bad. I had lost a little more, but the past few days have wiped that out.
The work stress is going to be there for the next few weeks, so I need to get a grip of how I deal with it.

I am generally feeling better with just that 10lb loss. I can move easier and I already feel my clothes are fitting better too. Maybe I am imagining it! I have my starting measurements, so maybe I will redo those in a few weeks.

Thanks for this thread. I know I haven't been very visible here, but I do read all the posts.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/07/2025 07:39

@WafflingDreamer Wow!!!! 6 stone!!! That's amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. And the magic 100! I will be v excited to get there too when I do. We'll done ❤️. 6 stone is an amazing change.

@PositiveAttitude 10lb in the first month is amazing!! Dont give up! I think it's quite common to feel less of the effects of the drug towards the end of the week as it wears off. It also won't feel the same every week. For me it sometimes feel if I've had a good loss (as you have!) sometimes I have a hungrier week where I eat a bit more to balance it out but overall it keeps going down.

I hope the work goes okay.

I found I had very little suppression on 2.5mg and actually moved up a bit early to 3.75mg in the end. I think the first couple of months are the hardest then when you have lots to lose you just settle into a new normal!

I find photos and measurements really help me see progress as genuinely I dont feel like I look much different, I also like listing all my weekly losses as you slowly see them add up to bigger loses.

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 108.2kg BMI 42.3
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

No change from last week but I am on holiday this week so eating/drinking/allotmenting more than normal. Goodness only knows what my correct weight is!

I made a top yesterday, 4 sizes smaller than the last time I made it. Today I am going to start work on making a pair of jeans. This will be a voyage of discovery in many ways.

That's amazing, j would love to make something. Maybe when I'm on garden leave. Can I ask about water? I've been dieting for about 20 years or more and I always thought when people say drink water they actually meant liquid.

But I saw post yesterday where someone was saying they needed to drink more water as they were relying on protein drinks and coffee. I don't drink much water, I have 36 ozs of coffee which is about 3 pints and maybeb2 pints of water throughout the day. Should I be drinking 3 litres of water on top of other fluid? And why? What's the purpose?

TickyandTacky · 24/07/2025 08:54

Other drinks will still have calories and other things people are trying to avoid. Water is 0 calories and fills you up.many people find they eat when they are thirsty or when water will distract them from snacking.

That be said, I also drink very little water and should probably increase it.

GnomeDePlume · 24/07/2025 09:19

I drink almost no water. My drinks are all sugar free and, other than my morning milky coffee, fat free.

My go to drinks are black chai tea, ginger beer and dandelion & burdock. All sugar free, zero calories.

@Doggymummar if you are interested in starting sewing there are lots of 'starter' patterns to try: bags, clothes, soft furnishings. Hobbycraft do some workshops. A sewing machine doesn't have to be super expensive. A good starting off machine will be well under £100.

I find sewing very relaxing but be warned, it can be addictive!

flipent · 24/07/2025 09:23

I tend to stick with water as removing UPF's has been high on the list of good things you can do for your body for a couple of years - and it makes total sense to me.
I've always avoided the sugar free drinks because artificial sweeteners which are used instead of the sugar. If I want something sweet, I'd rather have the real thing than a chemical version.

Doggymummar · 24/07/2025 10:52

OK, i will try to drink, more water, but it will be sparkling because plain water is yuk. I have two or three massive mugs of coffee usually and I can't drink fizzy drinks or alcohol anymore except Baileys as it's too acidic. I couldn't drink coffee for the first year or so but at Christmas I discovered the Starbuck cinnamon latte packets and they are so nice. I feg the whenever they are on sale, which they are this week on ocado. So good and I use them as meal replacements I guess as they are very filling.

flipent · 24/07/2025 11:22

@Doggymummar Each to their own - but the latte sachets have a lot of sugar an not much else in the way of nutrients to be a meal replacement.

Doggymummar · 24/07/2025 11:26

I didn't mean a literally meal replacement, or maybe I did. I've been OMAD for probably 15 years now so I'm used to having to make that count.

Fffreeeeezing · 24/07/2025 12:09

I don’t drink any water, really not keen on the stuff at all. I drink sugar free squash (I don’t give a toss about sweeteners), always the same kind, Sainsburys apple and blackcurrant. I drink 4 litres + most days and have to make a conscious effort to not drink more. Apart from the squash, I have one cup of tea and that’s it for the most part.
Drs usually say clear fluids, that doesn’t have to be water

But she enjoys them!
I still eat Jaffa cakes and ice cream tubs sometimes. I love them and I'm not giving up everything.

I drink about a litre of water a day, but mostly I drink tea. Lots of tea.

I have milk and sugar in my tea, too, because it's gross without them.
🤣
