Any reassurance would be great this morning. I took my 2nd jab on Sunday evening and have woken up today with a really upset tummy.

I didnt really get any side effects last week after jab 1 and this is unpleasant!

Did it settle for others sharpish? I have training this morning that I cant really afford to miss 😟

I had that once ,I spent from 5 am to 8 am mainly on the loo .
No idea what caused it ,but it ever happened again
Probably I'd eaten something greasy as I don't usually eat greasy food
Hope you feel better soon

Is so amazing seeing all these photos, often numbers can get lost but to see actual results in a visual form is so inspiring.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your photos ❤️

I have a lovely NSV today.

I’m back in an old pair of size 18 skinny jeans! They’re even a bit loose! (None of my other 18s fit yet, but I’ll take it!). I wore them with a short-ish t-shirt. And didn’t spend all day tugging it down!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/07/2025 19:03

Me in a size 14 dress this week.

How are you feeling @Elephantscantjump
I've needed to take loperamide quite often, but it generally works very quickly.

Luckily loperamide definitely doing its job, I'm tentatively trying some banana and porridge now 😂 .

Think I got myself in a bit of a spiral earlier looking more into side effects and felt quite panicky but feeling a bit calmer now.

You'll probably be fine.
I had a few SE early on but haven't had any for ages now. Just an occasional need for loperamide.
I also sometimes need Peptac.

Weigh day for me today and I hit 6 stone off! I wouldn’t have ever believed this time last year that this is something I would ever be saying, a total loss of 6 stone 0.4 lbs whilst on Mounjaro and I lost about a stone and a half before starting. I don’t recognise myself when I look back at photos.
I was just under 20 1/2 stone in the photo on the left. Note the deliberate crossing of the legs didn’t really make me appear any slimmer! I’m now 13 stone 2.5 lbs but still in a size 20 top and 18 bottom.

Sorry missed this. Well done @Iwouldratherbesinging

TidyWasp · 22/07/2025 20:47

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne lovely dress, you look great!

That's fab, well done.

I know we all say at the beginning of this journey how far we have to go, and yes, in the early days it’s so daunting and can be overwhelming when thinking about how long it will take, but I can honestly say that once you get halfway, or even before you reach that point, it really doesn’t feel so far out of reach, all the nsvs along the way are like mini victories and such morale boosters.
This isn’t the same as the misery of a restricted diet where you are constantly thinking about your next meal and what you can or can’t have. I’m the happiest I’ve been for a long time, I don’t really care about how long this will take anymore, I know that I will get there and then I’ll be worrying about maintaining/gaining and I don’t want to think about that for a while as I’m happy in my ‘little’ weight loss bubble.

Hi all,
Just checking in as my first MJ jab arrives tomorrow.
Weighed in at 23st 9lb today so it's going to be a long haul. I'm really nervous about starting.
Any hints and tips would be welcome.
Thank you.

SilenceInside · 22/07/2025 22:57

Hey @MontysMissus glad you’re joining us! We’re all long haulers here, so you’ll be in good company. I joined the thread for the month I started (July last year) and there’s only a couple of us left from that thread that are still posting on there. So this thread is definitely a welcome corner for me.

In terms of hints or tips, I would just say that the first injection seems like a big thing, but then once it’s done it’s a bit of an anticlimax. Other than that, it depends on how you get on with the first doses. Some people get the full effect within a day or two. Others it can take the first 3 or 4 weeks. Some people need the higher doses before they start to feel it. Side effects can vary a lot. I find that eating lots of sugar/fat/processed carbs could lead to digestive upset, but also random odd foods too. I’ve stopped eating a vegetarian mince that I make for the family as I find that gives me an upset stomach, for example.

Take and keep Photos Of Doom and starting measurements. You'll hate them but it's so satisfying comparing them as you plod onwards and downwards.
I wasn't sure I could see much difference just looking at myself after the first couple of months, but putting the photos side by side I could see where things were starting to change.
And try not to compare your progress with anyone else's. Some people get suppression from day 1 and can loose loads on 2.5. Some people barely lose at all until the higher doses. Some people lose a stone in the first week, some of us do not. Some people have hardly and side effects, others are all about the sulphur burps and nausea. Assume nothing and just take your own path day by day.

Welcome! I’ve lost 4st 2lbs since 23rd March this year (24st 9 to 20st 7). At this point I’d say while some people start with a big loss first few weeks don’t be disheartened if you don’t, it’s all about consistency. Best advice I had was on this thread; be patient let the MJ do its thing working with it by having plenty of nutritious food and the weight loss will sort itself out over time. Best of luck

GnomeDePlume · 23/07/2025 07:14

Ultimately the NSVs are what it's all about, not the number on the scales.

I'm on holiday this week. An NSV for me is thinking I can go to the allotment this morning and get done all the jobs I want to do without secretly dreading it.

This afternoon I am going to start on making a new top for me. It will be quite simple, t-shirt style so that I will be able to reuse the fabric at some point. This type of thinking is a novelty for me.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 23/07/2025 07:30

Welcome @MontysMissus

I’ve weighed in a day early this week as I’m off on holiday tomorrow - 4lbs down which I’m delighted with! I’m really looking forward to being able to fit comfortably into the plane seat tomorrow without a seatbelt extender! And I’m actually looking forward to wearing my new swimsuits around the pool instead of dreading having to have so much flesh exposed!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 23/07/2025 07:56

Welcome @MontysMissus , the nerves about starting is completely understandable but you will look back and think what on earth was I worrying about. Remember that your journey is unique to you, try not to compare, the weirdness about this is no two people seem to react in the same way.
My top tip which I’ve said before is to be careful how you put the needle cap in the sharps bin, push it in the ‘right way up’ with the cap on, not upside down. I stabbed myself as I stupidly didn’t consider there being a needle on the underside! You’ll also find yourself wondering if every twitch or niggle is a result of taking Mounjaro 😆

Have a wonderful relaxed holiday @MummyInTheNecropolis enjoy the lack of seatbelt extender!

TragicMuse · 23/07/2025 11:10

I’m about to go to Latitude so doing WI today.

Week 22, 7.5mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 8lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 15st 10.5lbs
Loss this week 2.25lb
Total loss 48.5lbs

Interim GW (set by Nutracheck!) 15st 8lbs

Jabbing in a couple of hours.

I’m feeling pretty good! Hauling 3.5st less weight up the hill to our camping at the end of each day will be great!

I have protein snacks packed and am looking forward to enjoying myself within my own limits.

Keep on it losers!!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 23/07/2025 11:26

Not jealous at all @TragicMuse, enjoy snow patrol!

SilenceInside · 23/07/2025 11:28

@TragicMuse enjoy Latitude and hope the weather is kind to you.

@MummyInTheNecropolisenjoy your holiday!

I’m off on holiday too today. I injected two days early to avoid taking the pen with me, so I hope that doesn’t upset my even keel. I’ve been side effect free for ages so hopefully that will continue.

Doggymummar · 23/07/2025 13:02

Al, you lucky people getting a holiday. Jealous. I am about to fet two months garden leave so although I won't be able to afford a holiday, and I'm not allowed to leave the country as I have to be available to work if they decide they want me I am hoping to have a loo, at dome gyms , you never know, I might go

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 23/07/2025 14:37

Well, I'm home.
I gained 3lb but it'll come off in a few days (it did last time so I hope it will).
