Thanks for these suggestions. I would eat more meat and fish if I wasn't having to do veggie so much!

TidyWasp · 17/07/2025 21:31

It's definitely harder veggie! I forgot about eggs as well, I'm having at least 2 a day. Halloumi another possibility?

Powdered peanut butter is also quite useful for adding to yoghurt/shakes etc, the one I have is 8g protein for 71 cals. Love peanut butter but can't be trusted with the real stuff lest the whole jar be licked from the spoon.

GnomeDePlume · 18/07/2025 06:12

Reading all this makes me realise that there are many ways of mounjaro-ing.

I am not calorie or protein counting.

My approach is that I eat what I ate before except my portions are much smaller and the proportions have changed. My ideal 'plate' is 50% vegetables: cabbage, beans, salad etc; 25% meat/fish; 25% potatoes/rice.

I always eat all the vegetables, then the meat/fish then the carb. Quite often I don't finish or even barely touch the carb.

Another thing is cutting out the 'peripherals':

  • Sitting down for a drink & nibbles (crisps/nuts etc) before having a starter then a main course.
  • Having a takeaway just because
  • Celebrating anything and everything with a food treat
  • Having a bottle of wine or two because it's Wednesday

Mounjaro is meaning I don't want those extras. It is completely changing the food I want to eat.

mamabeeboo · 17/07/2025 18:42

@Bulldogsummer I know what you mean. How have you felt moving up the doses? Have you needed to move up or did you move up because you wanted to or your supplier advised?
In terms of hunger, Sunday was some time away, so it makes sense given the half life. Are you actually hungry, stomach rumbling? Or are you missing suppression? I'm assuming you're doing the usual tracking calories, high protein, loads of water?

My journey has been relatively drama free and no side effects other than weightloss. So I felt comfortable jabbing every 6 days to keep up momentum.

Of course only do what you are comfortable doing. I wouldn't encourage anyone to go against instructions, just saying what works for me.

Something that I do is calorie cycling, feel free to have a quick Google if you're not familiar. But it helps me keep my calories low at the beginning of the week and higher at the end so I don't feel too restricted.

I moved up each time I felt it wasn't working
Yes hungry stomach rumbling a lot
Yes tracking calories approx 1200 a day .not tracking protein,it's always been a bit of a. Issue.
I jabbed last night ..I'm so far behind,I've always got a full pen in the fridge and at least half of a current one , because I use the golden dose I expect
Will have a look at calorie cycling..thankyou x

Iwouldratherbesinging · 17/07/2025 19:35

@mamabeeboo yup, love ‘em! Especially with a couple of cherry toms and dill pickled gherkins
@WafflingDreamer that’s an amazing difference, you’ve changed so much!

@Bulldogsummer If I remember rightly we started MJ around the same time and you’ve done so well to lose 7 stone, you should be really proud of that… I’ve been on 15mg for a few months now and it’s still doing its thing. I do feel hungry most days which is what I want to feel, I just find it easier to choose to have a big drink or fruit to stave off the hunger rather than reaching for carbs. I don’t like the full on suppression where I struggle to eat one meal a day. Are you hungry all the time or hungry at the right times, such as proper meal times? I also second what @mamabeeboo says about calorie cycling.

Thanks yes .but my current weight ,is a lot of peoples starting weight..so I get a bit frustrated with the process sometimes

It's kind of helpful to know feeling hungry is normal then ..I've never had full on susrpension..I've needed an awful lot of willpower

SilenceInside · 18/07/2025 09:58

It's my weigh in and injection day today, week 54. I have lost 3lbs/1.2kg this week which I am very happy about. That takes me to 81kg or 12st 10lbs, BMI still 29. 81kg was my fifth interim target, so now I am aiming for 73kg as my next interim goal. To be anything under 80kg would be amazing, as I am now looking at weights that I haven't been since my late teens and early twenties.

Billybingbong · 18/07/2025 10:00

Week 15, and 3lb off. I'm now in the 3 3 club, yippee 🥰. Next mini target is to get into the 18's

SW 22st 8lb
CW 19st 5lb
GW 11st 4lb

It's been a tough week, we've had some really difficult family stuff to deal with, and I'm feeling a bit like I've been knocked off my axis. And in the middle of that, I'm now sporting a nice red cast after tripping over the bloody cat and fracturing my wrist, ffs. So its not been the best week, you couldn't make this shit up!

But thankfully, the MJ has still been quietly doing its thing, and I haven't turned to food for comfort as I usually would in times of crisis, so at least that's one less thing to stress over. Every cloud has its silver lining.

Have a great week everyone, onwards and downwards

Fffreeeeezing · 18/07/2025 10:01

Week 18 (and 4 month anniversary was this week) and a 4lb loss bringing me to a total loss of 3st 13.
(That would have sounded so much better if it has been 4mths, 4lb off, 4st total 🤣)

Tantalisingly close to the under 50bmi (0.6!), only 4lbs from being in the 200's and 15% of
me gone.
Onwards and downwards.......

Well done on the 3lb with all that going on but I'm intrigued how you lost 3lb with a cast on? 🤣

afaloren · 18/07/2025 10:39

Well done everyone on their losses!

I’m naffed off this week because I only lost 100g, so basically stayed the same, despite being on point all week. I’m blaming the heat and water retention! Irritatingly DH lost a kilo
this week without even trying Hmm

I did have big losses the last two weeks so will just consider this a consolidation week. Onwards and downwards!

Me too, its a cumbersome thing. But its only one of those half soft cast things, so probably doesn't weigh too much. Im back at the fracture clinic next week, and hoping they will swap it for a splint, so at least I'll be able to remove it for weigh in days 🤣

Elle771 · 18/07/2025 11:31

I cant stomach many protein shakes but this lemon&lime protein squash has been a life saver in warm weather and is just so easy to get down me...

https://amzn.eu/d/fhOukh8

10g of protein and 50cals for a big drink of squash so I can easily do 2 a day if needed!

So happy you found another provider @tragicmuse and love all the pics everyone its so inspiring!!

@Billybingbongouch on the wrist! I once tripped over my cat, got my feet entangled in my knitting and broke AND dislocated my ankle, I needed surgery and have a metal plate and screws!

I’ve gone up to 5mg and the appetite suppressant effect is back. I’m trying to eat enough protein and veg, I’m finding cottage cheese and yoghurt are my go-tos at the moment. Weigh in on Sunday!

PositiveAttitude · 18/07/2025 12:42

Week 3 weigh in for me today. This week just a 1lb loss, but 9lb in total on MJ in 3 weeks.

I was worried I was going to gain as we have been away for the past week and eaten our every evening.
Yesterday we arrived home and I had to go into work for 4 pm. I expected to be home about 6.30 for dinner.... I got home at 9.30 and I was ravenous!!! I ended up ramming a load of cheese and bread down my throat, and then felt terribly sick all night. 🤦🏻🙄

Off to my pharmacy to get my next pen now.

Well done for your losses. You all give me hope that I can do this. 💪🏻

Mumble12 · 18/07/2025 12:46

Jab 11 this week, should have been jab 12, but stretched the last couple out to 10 days between jabs.

SW 19st 9lb
CW 16st 4lb
GW 11st 0lb

Massive NSV today, I popped into Poundland for a charger for the car, saw a lovely summer dress in their clothing section, largest they had was a 14 and it slipped on so easily. I know this won't be the same in other shops, but I'm not ashamed to be excited by it even if their sizing is a bit off. I'm so cross I didn't take a proper 'before' picture now. I was too ashamed at the time and didn't want to look at it, but I'd love to have one now. Never mind!

TragicMuse · 18/07/2025 12:52

I have no idea what’s going on with my weight. I seem to have either stayed the same as last week or gained. No idea how. I drink water at work, and have stayed completely within my calories, my 7-day average is around 950. It’s not menstrual, I’m long past that!

It’s beyond annoying.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/07/2025 12:56

@Mumble12 did younot need to send one to supplier

@GnomeDePlume where I count cals but yes eat often the same /similar stuff but less of it

Yeah I did, took it at in the very same spot as this one and deleted it immediately afterwards cos it was so awful. I was wearing a long dress that I thought looked lovely. Xan confirm it did not. I even went on my original order last night to see if they still had it on there but you can't see it.

Lds1 · 18/07/2025 13:18

I couldn't share my first order picture, I went all in with just a bra and pants 😂 was scared they might reject my order in clothes... As if!!

ManyATrueWord · 18/07/2025 13:52

Before I hit pay on this offer, it's asking me if I want to have three months at 2.5 (Mounjaro). Don't most people increase their dose after the first month?

SilenceInside · 18/07/2025 13:57

@ManyATrueWord yes most people do move up. It would be quite unusual to do 3 months on 2.5mg without needing to move up.

Are they offering a bundle of 3 pens at 2.5mg? Seems a bit unusual. You sometimes see an offer for a bundle of 2.5, 5 and 7.5mg which assumes you'd move up each month, because it's the standard dosing schedule.

What pharmacy is it?

Lds1 · 18/07/2025 14:21

Just checked my history, obviously everyone is different:
2.5 - 1 pen
5.0 - 2 pens
7.5 - 5 pens
10.0 - 5 pens

I just moved to 12.5

Lobsterteapot · 18/07/2025 15:05

Not sure what number weigh in (started in Jan) but lost 5 pounds this week, which takes me to 4 stone 11 off and tantalisingly close to 5 stone!

This is exactly how I'm doing it, too.

I have never bought protein powder and I wasn't aware of its existence before reading this thread.

I just eat what I used to eat, but less of it.
