Yes it's my dream to no longer stand out as so obviously large!!! I think I'm already part way there - I'm now just "quite large"...

And a non wi weigh today - I've lost 30k!!!! I think @SilenceInside said close to when I started something about it just keeps quietly going and it really has.

I've ordered some seasalt dresses in a range of sizes. Mainly to see what fits and how far off the smaller sizes are. I will use vinted towards the end of summer to get some clothes for autumn!

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden will be really interested re the Seasalt dresses. I have my eye on a few but think that I need to lose more weight first.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 17:14

Arriving tomorrow... I think I'll ahve to return and actually given we have no money might be silly given I'm hoping to lose sizes. I just kind of wanted to "see" what the different sizes looked like for the future..

weegiemum · 16/07/2025 17:33

I’m also in Scotland (name a bit of a giveaway!).
Lived in Glasgow for 20 years nearly but our real home is the Outer Hebrides (not that we’re from there but we lived there for many years and still have a house there and go as often as we can).

PositiveAttitude · 16/07/2025 17:34

Thanks @mamabeeboo , my name is actually my original name from when I joined mumsnet in 2006!! I joined then for a specific reason and definitely needed a positive attitude and it sort of stuck. 😁

I am having a minor panic about my weight loss. Normally on holiday I expect to put on quite a bit. I am going back to my pharmacist on Friday for a weigh in and to get my first 5mg pen. I am getting myself in a stew about whether I will actually show any loss over the 3 week period of being on MJ. Being away from home means I can't have a sneaky peak and will only be able to hop on the scales a few hours before I see him.
Maybe I will be the one person in the history of MJ that loses nothing!!! 😱

PositiveAttitude · 16/07/2025 17:35

Hi @weegiemum👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

TragicMuse · 16/07/2025 18:07

Thanks for your support dear losers!

I’m very very pleased to have a result!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2025 18:35

Well done @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden

you have lost the weight of the much crafted elephants penis

🐘🐘🐘🐘

and more

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 18:42

Yay for elephants penis!!!

Please don't worry @PositiveAttitude I think we get more hung up on the numbers than anyone else. Many people don't lose on 2.5 as it's an introductory dose - the pharmacist is highly unlikely to attach any moral judgement at all - bit like doctors who see boobs every day not being fussed by boobs! It's just numbers. And just data...

Whereas I know for us we invest so much into the number each time. If anything I'm trying to break that sense of "good and bad" and just see it as data...

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 18:44

And as evryone told me and I now truly "get" this is absolutely long term for us in this group - there may be weeks it goes up/stays the same/slows down. But it just keeps working....

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/07/2025 18:50

Well done Fatsia!

Don't panic Positive!

@Markoj welcome! Would your wife like to post herself?

Weigh day tomorrow, this morning I had lost, so just hoping that on the day I have to write it down it doesn't sneak back on again!

I've been looking at some new dresses, don't need them yet but they're pretty!

Yes. I was checking back in my diary yesterday, and noted that it has taken me three months to lose my last stone.

But it's still going down, and my shape is changing.

I tried to take a picture in the mirror of the loo on the train but gave up because the train was moving too much

@TragicMuse Yes!!!!! Who are you going with? All sorted??

Doggymummar · 16/07/2025 19:29

That train is awful. I work for a company in Edinburgh and live in Brighton and I feel sick everytjme I go on it. I flew last time to avoid the travel sick.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 20:07

So 2 of the dresses have arrived.. What do we think of this - I'd love a genuine response given you understand not knowing what size we are anymore and also that with oddly shaped bodies thigns won't look the same as on a slim person!

Is it too small? I dont want to go "with room" as I'll hopefully lose a few more stone as I go on.

I feel so insecure buying things I really need another perspective.

And yes currently wearing leggings with them but they'd be okay without.

I'm so aware of my stomach. But I know it will get smaller! I don't have a full length mirror so I don't usually see photos of myself like this.

PearlsPearl · 16/07/2025 20:15

Oh I like that dress, looks great on you!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 20:17

Thankyou Pearl. I'm not sure if I'm just continuing my matronly theme.... But I think I'm still in "stretchy seasalt dress" stage until the stomach is smaller.

And not sure if it's too small. The bigger size is too big on my shoulders.

The other dress is too big and I don't like the pattern.

There's a third one coming!

SilenceInside · 16/07/2025 20:35

I would say it fits @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden it doesn’t look tight anywhere or loose. Just right, and would probably be ok for a while as you continue to lose. It’s a nice shape on you too.

TragicMuse · 16/07/2025 20:38

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 18:58

@TragicMuse Yes!!!!! Who are you going with? All sorted??

I’m with Medino!

I think I might make a post in the main topic area about IQ Doctor changing their prescribing practice to exclude anyone on Glpt 2

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 20:46

Wahooooo tragic.

And thankyou silence and pearl. I've never been good with clothes and even worse as I got bigger. And we don't have much to spend so I rotate the same few outfits... I think I've lost all ability to make decisions or objectivity. I think I'll get it - whole also looking forwards to being less bum/stomach in future 🤞.

And now I know rough size look on vinted! (I'm actually on shock it's a 20. It's a seasalt stretchy dress 20 not a real 20-but I was wearing seasalt 26 and some 24... And the 26 was tight in January. The 24 in a different style was all big round my shoulders). Also by their own size guide my top half is about a 20 and the stomach/hips 24/26....im all disproportionate but it's a stretch dress...!)

SilenceInside · 16/07/2025 20:54

It’s taken a long time but I am pretty much one size all over now, having been bigger from the waist down for a long while. A long time ago when I was in my early twenties I used to be hourglass shaped, but morphed into more pear shaped and then just a really round apple when at my heaviest!

Going from a 26 to a 20 is amazing. Soon you’ll be into 18s @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden!

Lobsterteapot · 16/07/2025 20:54

@TragicMuse It’s bloody nuts that! I take Forxiga and Mounjaro, both prescribed by the NHS why on earth would the private prescribers refuse it?
Especially when losing weight improves outcomes for those with type 2 diabetes

PositiveAttitude · 16/07/2025 21:19

I love that dress @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden. It looks good on you too. It shows you have a waist and a good figure. Be confident in it! You should be so proud of yourself.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/07/2025 21:39

Last post about my clothes anxiety - I've ordered cycling shorts/ 3/4 leggings from yours in 24 and 22 and kept a mix of both. I would definitely not be a 20 in those!!! Clothes and shape are funny.

Thankyou for being people I could do this with ❤️.
