I've lost a grand total of 1.5 pound since June 8th. It's a bit infuriating paying £189 a month, especially now I am redundant but I know it would be a gain every month without it. I'm 90lb down as of today BMI is 27 down from 42 but it's slow and expensive now.

I spoke to my doctor about low mood on MJ and he wasn't really bothered. I am just to flat and lots of people on Oushk FB page saying the same. I'm having to really force my reactions. Oh bought me a new laptop as a complete surprise and I just felt meh. Had to fir e myself to even say thank you. Then I cry at wedding videos. I dunno what's going on.

Why don’t you use a new supplier then you’ll get a discount code and it won’t be £189

SAZ your BMI is 27 and you’re with a company who does maintenance so you can always go back to them when you’re 2425 then you can do the discount code they give you which is 15% off and free Post and packaging, which is £7 I think so it’s good to get that free

Checking in after a week and have religiously read all 166 new posts or thereabouts 😅

Some fab losses and NSVs!!

Re the holiday panic thing i honestly think if you don't go crazy and get back on it soon as you're home its amazing how much drops off and isn't "real" gain!

I had a 10 day all inclusive recently and ate and drank what I wanted (within limits of MJ and not being ill!)... weighed day after we got home scales said gained 9lbs.. weighed literally 5 days later and was 1lb light than when I went away so it was just a ton of water/bloat/silliness basically?!

Anyway am 2 months in now and steadying 2lb per week loss which am happy with...

But can relate to other posters if I think too much about the sheer volume I have to lose overall and time it will take it makes me want to cry 😭🙈

Excited to see where we all are by Christmas!

(Have also given up on my monthly starters thread for same reasons as others!)

GnomeDePlume · 14/07/2025 06:29

Someone I knew went on a cruise and came back having put on 3 stone. Obviously some was just holiday 'bloat' but from what she said, a fair bit was 'real' gain.

She said it was something to do with the way food was presented as though eating at that point was perfectly normal:

  • first breakfast
  • second breakfast
  • something to fill up the corners
  • pre lunch nibbles & cocktails
  • lunch
  • mid afternoon cake
  • afternoon tea
  • pre dinner nibbles and cocktails
  • dinner
  • supper
  • midnight snack

As it is only on mounjaro that I have a modicum of control we have never gone AI or on a cruise.

Chapeau! (the Tour is on) to all of you going on holiday and not coming back with major weight gains.

Holidays have always triggered the end of diets for me. Something about both the end of the holiday gloom, wanting to extend the treat and not wanting to get back into the diet saddle.

New trousers arrived. I could squeeze into a 2xl but have also got 3xl for comfort. I kept both pairs to give me something to go down to. Just got to make a top and I will be sorted for lunch in Brighton.

One more week at work then I have another week off. This will be another allotment and sewing week. Can't wait!

Something mounjaro has given me is a real enjoyment of vegetables. For dinner last night I had cabbage, French beans, carrots, courgette, potato all from the allotment. Served with honey mustard chicken (Mary Berry recipe). Totally delicious.

Doggymummar · 14/07/2025 07:45

That does sound good @GnomeDePlume. I live in Brighton, have you chosen a restau5for lunch? Last time we ate out was my birthday in November and we went to the Ivy Asia which was lovely.

Motnight · 14/07/2025 08:00

Ooh Ivy Asia in Brighton is indeed lovely @Doggymummar!

GnomeDePlume · 14/07/2025 08:40

@Doggymummar we are going to Il Bistro. We have been to The Ivy in The Lanes a couple of times but are now experimenting with other places. Not tried Ivy Asia yet. Thank you for the recommendation.

Last time we met up we went to Food for Friends. We aren't vegetarian but are enjoying trying out different places.

GnomeDePlume · 14/07/2025 08:59

@Doggymummar and @Motnight do you have any other recommendations please? We are both arriving by train so needs to be walkable.

Thinking of bringing my jab a day forward to tonight, has anyone done this, any side effects? How's everyone feeling today??

I have moved my injection day around due to being away, and then brought it back each week to my usual day (Friday). So I would have injected a few days late, on a Monday, then the next week injected on the Sunday, the following week on Saturday and then back to my normal day of Friday. I have never noticed any issue with injecting a day earlier each week in this way.

Lozzie118 · 14/07/2025 10:37

My starting day is a Tuesday, but I'm thinking of moving it eventually to a Friday as the weekends are the hardest days for me, thank you for your post I'll have a think about it

SilenceInside · 14/07/2025 10:41

@Lozzie118 Just to say that this was all on the same dose level, not moving up at any point. If you have a dose tracking app or website, you can see the rise and fall of the estimated levels in your system, and bringing it a day forward doesn't make a huge difference to the overall rise and fall of the medication in your system.

Thank you for this, I was thinking of ordering another 2.5mg pen for next month anyways and then going up to 5mg

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/07/2025 11:02

@Lozzie118 I've frequently changed my jab day, with no ill effects.

Hi, what would you like recommendations for? Sounds like lunch is covered @gnome

Lozzie118 · 14/07/2025 11:44

Where does everyone order theirs from?? I started with juniper but looking elsewhere

SilenceInside · 14/07/2025 11:50

@Lozzie118 currently got my most recent pen (10mg) from Simple Online Pharmacy. The one before was from WePrescribe. The time before that it was Pharmacy2U, for two orders. Before that I've used Asda and Zava. The only reason for changing pharmacies has been to keep the price down. I've not had any issues with any of them.

I'm going to stick with Simple Online for a while I think, unless they put their prices up, as they are pretty cheap and support maintenance for when I get to that point.

Thanks for all your help this morning Silence, were they all the same doses?

SilenceInside · 14/07/2025 12:05

I'm procrastinating from work....

No, different doses at various points. Asda was for the first few pens, 2.5mg, 5mg then 7.5mg for a while. Zava was 7.5mg for several months, Pharmacy2U was a 7.5mg and then 10mg. WePrescribe and Simple Online were both 10mg.

In retrospect I should have jumped ship from Asda sooner as they were much more expensive back then, and I haven't paid anywhere near as much recently for the higher dose pens as I was paying for the first few pens.

Lozzie118 · 14/07/2025 12:13

Any more pearls of wisdom for me on this Monday morning?? Have you been on Mounjaro for a long time then? What part have you found most difficult. I'm a mum of 3 who is 40 next year and I'm hoping to get to my target weight by then.

SilenceInside · 14/07/2025 12:30

I've been taking Mounjaro since the 5th July 2024, so into my 54th week this week! I was 22st when I started, actually the week I ordered for the first time. I lost 2lbs the week I was waiting for the first pen to be delivered so started at 21st 12lbs on my first injection day. BMI of 50. I'm now 12st 13lbs and BMI 29.

The most difficult part was at the start, in the first 3 months, where I had some side effects on 5mg and 7.5mg. But not lasting very long, thankfully, and manageable. Since then I have no side effects at all, other than feeling a lot colder than I used to, but that's a positive for me! I have not minded the recent heat waves at all and have for the first time in my life not been hot, sweaty and grumpy with it.

I have about 2 and a half stones to go to get to my target weight of 10st 4lbs, which was a bit of an arbitrary number. I perhaps didn't think I'd get anywhere near it, but now I know it will happen. I will have another think about what my final target weight might be, as I think I'd prefer to be in the middle of the healthy range, rather than nearer the top end.

I think my main "pearl" is that it is really just a matter of time, if you keep at it, eventually you will reach your target. I haven't done anything special or amazing, the Mounjaro has just enabled me to keep consistent for a long time, and all the losses, big or very small, add up.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 14/07/2025 13:05

I’m back to earth with a bump from 2 glorious weeks in Cornwall - I don’t go back to work until tomorrow which is a good job as I’m in domestic chaos as you can imagine! But just sat with a coffee catching up on everyone’s news. Sorry to read that some of you are feeling a bit low 🙁

I weighed myself this morning for the first time since my last weigh in on the 24th June and I’m 3lbs down so I’m more than happy with that and have hit my first big goal of weighing less than 13 1/2 stone.

A few post holiday musings. At first I was scared to eat anything outside of my normal diet, I then worried that I’m still allowing food to rule me as I found on a few days there was nothing really acceptable for me to eat so I went without, then realised that’s an old habit whereby I starve myself and then end up binging, how easy old habits can creep in. I did relax a bit, I ate normal size portions, had a couple of ice creams, bites of hubbys pasties, had a child’s portion of fish and chips (couldn’t finish it!) and even had a cinnamon cream cheese cruffin (lasted me 2 days) and still lost weight. Hubby however gained 9lbs! Must be water retention…
walking, hill walking, climbing hundreds of steps and going up sandy hills was so much easier, hills I was dreading were a breeze. I didn’t feel as if everyone was staring at me, I was so much more relaxed in general and it feels so good.

@mamabeeboo your pictures are epic, that’s such an amazing change, so pleased that the weight is falling off again!

@PearlsPearl congrats on the reappearance of your nunny 😂 and even bigger congratulations on the wedding ring, that was so lovely to read. Also… look at that waist!

@AlicesMum2025 well done for hitting your first goal! I know it’s said over and over, but we are all on different journeys and we all lose at different rates, but we all have one goal in common so be loud and proud of your losses! I’m Norfolk based and know what you mean about Wells. I’m now going to make a point of going there to see how I get on now 😊

@Bilbette I’m one of these who has never suffered with sulphur burps or diarrhoea but have eaten plenty of rich fatty food. Our bodies are strange things and we are all so different in the way we react to food and the jabs, I find it so baffling.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden Im now able to grab handfuls of fat/skin rather than just being solid fat, and yes it’s an oddly strange sensation. I’m looking into maybe starting dry brushing. I religiously use skin firming (I very much doubt it does) moisturiser morning and evening, I need to put myself on a 90 degree wash to see if I can shrink some skin 😂

Medino. They give everyone an 8% discount every time you place an order. The service is more personal and you're not tied into a subscription.

Hello @Gillandtonic, if I find I can’t face a full meal I’ll eat a couple of babybel cheeses and a handful of nuts, another of my favourites is a sliced beefsteak tomato topped with some ham and cottage cheese with black pepper. Roasted salmon and a crunchy green salad is another go to dinner, I usually buy a whole salmon every month and cut into portions to freeze.

love the new picture @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne 😍

@Lozzie118 Ive swapped my injection day loads of times to bring it forward and have never suffered any ill effects, I’ve done it both ways, delayed a day or jabbed a day early for a couple of weeks to move from a Friday to a Wednesday for example.

PearlsPearl · 14/07/2025 13:45

I live on precooked chicken (bbq flavour, or greek gyros from Tesco are my current faves!), Longley Farm cottage cheese, houmous, and rice cakes. I can't face meals at all really.
