Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

I'm on week 6 and have only lost 2.5kg according to my rubbish scales, however I have gone down a dress size, so I think I am not going to weigh myself regularly anymore as I just wanted to be slimmer rather than an arbitrary number. Although maybe I should invest in better scales - can any one recommend any?

I got a set of renpho ones, they were only about twenty quid off Amazon. There was nothing wrong with my old bog standard ones, but these ones track so much more - and update various apps automatically as well.

Hi all. I was on the first thread and then disappeared shortly into thread 2 as has a lot going on in ‘real life’.

I’m so disheartened. After initially losing 8 pounds (I’m sure lots of it water) in week 1, that the scales now just don’t move. At all.

I’ve cut out carbs entirely & eat only veg, salad, fish or meat. Small portions. Move as much as I can. I’m so fed up. I’m going to end up just being fat forever. I’m on 5mg. What on earth do I do!?

BerfyTigot · 23/06/2025 11:10

@DidILeaveTheGasOn sorry to hear that you're suffering again. If I take more than 1.25 every 5 days then I have bad side effects. So odd how we all respond so differently.

Hope it passes soon.

Did you measure yourself at the start? Have your measurements gone down? If not can you tell from clothes getting looser?
Are you definitely eating enough? A few carbs are fine and part of a healthy diet. I have a little whole meal pasta or brown rice quite often. Do you count the calories? I’m on a Facebook page called Weight Loss Medication Support U.K. which is run by The Care Pharmacy (they’re an online provider) and they’re really good ar advice. They often say one of the biggest causes of plateauing is not eating enough.
I bet you’ll find you get a big loss suddenly, so don’t give up.

No I didn’t but I put some jeans on yesterday that I hadn’t worn in a few weeks and they fit exactly the same ☹️
One of the reasons I cut out carbs is that I struggle with constipation quite often (always have) and I find carbs make this worse. Maybe I need to introduce some small amount as you suggested. Maybe I should eat a bit more but also up exercise a little more? Do you think that could help?

Seahorsesplendour · 23/06/2025 13:20

Hi @Bundleflower sorry that sounds frustrating! You mention life stuff going on, stress is really good at making us hold on to weight which is v frustrating!! I wonder if this is what is going on with you!

whatever has caused it I think @Gingercar is right hold on in there & it will come off at some point!!

Mounjaronew · 23/06/2025 14:19

Sorry as I know it's here somewhere but what needles best to use for golden dose? Do you extract it from the bit at the bottom that the needle goes on?

Mounjaronew · 23/06/2025 14:21

I'm also wanting to change supplier from voy. I'm wanting to stay on 5mg but that's actually showing as more expensive than going to 7.5mg.
Which reputable site would anyone recommend for discounts thanks for any help!

I ordered these
https://www.medisupplies.co.uk/Syringes-Needles/Needles/BD-MicroFine+-05ml-30G-8mm-Syringes-Needles

the needle is a bit longer than the one on the pen but not enough to be scary!

you just stick it in the gasket thing at the end of the pen (where normal needle goes) and extract the fluid. Clean the gasket first, with a wipe like normal.
Extract more than you need, because when you remove it, you still want to hold the syringe upright and tap it to make sure there’s no air bubbles. A dose is 0.6ml (don’t let the difference in 2.5 MG and 0.6 ML throw you off!) so expel liquid/prime until you get to that level, and off you go!

BD MicroFine+ 0.5ml 30G 8mm Syringes & Needles

@Bundleflower I think it’s difficult to advise without knowing exactly what you are eating and how much. You said life’s been a lot recently too - so how’s your sleep and stress levels? How about your eating window and time between eating?

Might be worth tracking your calories or fibre or protein or water consumption or eating window. Just pick one to work on at a time?

What are you noticing about the Mounjaro? Feeling fuller quicker or appetite suppression?

I’m with Voy too and will probably move next time too. I’ve heard that they offer a discount if you press the button to leave. If so I might stay another month. When I move I’ll probably go to The Care Pharmacy as their advice and support on Facebook is superb. I’d rather be with someone who can support me if I need to query something- that was my reason for choosing Voy initially. The Care Pharmacy are not the cheapest but much cheaper than Voy. (have you queried with their customer services why a second 5mg pen is more expensive than a 7.5? It doesn’t make sense.)

Did you have a problem with air bubbles with these @dizzyupthegirl86 ? I couldn't get rid of one. I think I ended up injecting it into my leg, but I'm sure it will be fine....😆

dizzyupthegirl86 · 23/06/2025 16:14

Kind of! I did have one air bubble I couldn’t get rid of, but it was at the plunger end rather than the needle end? So I just left more of the medication in the pen, and didn’t inject all the way! Honestly for how much I was fretting about it, it was basically seamless.

MissFizzyPop · 23/06/2025 16:57

Thanks for sharing the link for what syringes to buy dizzyupthegirl86, I've been deliberately on what to do for a while but makes sense to use the medication to me.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 23/06/2025 18:15

Ah here you all are! Lost track with the new thread.

I’m half way through week 7 and have lost 9kg so very pleased. It’s my 2nd week of 5mg and I also jabbed on Friday @DidILeaveTheGasOn and today have had terrible sulphur burps and then diarrhoea and nausea. I had some of Diss birthday cake yesterday so was blaming that, first processed sugar I’ve had since I started! I’m also still pretty exhausted but less so than last week. I think I’m going to do at least another month on 5mg so hopefully it will ease over time.

I am also thinking of moving from Voy now I’m more confident, need to save some money! My 5mg second pen is less than the 7.5 though, same price as last month.

i was looking at Livewell, may give that a go next week or I may try leaving voy and take the discount for one more month if offered as we are off on holiday soon and I don’t want stress about it arriving etc. I will miss the AI meal thing to track protein easily though!

Mounjour · 23/06/2025 18:58

W12D4 and I am absolutely exhausted. Going to go to bed very shortly as I've been craving my bed since midday.

Sleep is horrendous. I’ve got a young baby who seems to be going through sleep regression so my nights are patchy at best. I can’t rest in the day as I came back to work very early on (own business).

Stress through the roof.

I tend to have my evening meal around 8pm then I’ll next eat at maybe 1pm for a light lunch?

I think I need to start strictly counting calories just to be certain but there’s honestly no way I’m remotely over eating. I’m not even having sauces etc.

I am feeling fuller quicker (this could also be because my stomach has shrank or I’m eating a lot of protein) but I’m concerned that there might be a problem with my pen. I missed the postman (by literally 30 seconds and then spent the next hour trying to find him) and it meant that by the next day the cooling packaging was barely cold. I’m worried that has affected the Mounjaro?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 23/06/2025 20:11

@confusedmiddleager83 I had an ice cream yesterday, could it be that? I dunno. Felt fine the rest of the day, but the fatigue has been unreal.

hottubsundays · 23/06/2025 20:14

@Bundleflower sorry to hear about your struggle. I’ve lost 13 lb but then I go up and down. I’m not sure the 5mg is enough for me to lose weight but I’m on it as a t2 diabetic and the nurse doesn’t want to increase it at this stage. So I’m trying to up the exercise, walking seems to be the best thing.

ive been at a festival all weekend and on Saturday came down with a really itchy rash all over my torso like chickenpox. Ended up at out of hours Sunday night and I have a week of antibiotics for a bacterial infection of some kind so I already feel like this week is a write off as I just need to get better, no energy to exercise! It’s my birthday next week too so let’s just write off the next fortnight!

tostaky · 23/06/2025 20:14

I’m completely exhausted and it is a mix of being on my periods, poor sleep due to DS and feeling super nauseous after a 3.75mg jab on friday…. I saw a friend earlier and she was shocked that i looked so pale and unwell…
early bed ffor me too tonight
i was with shemed and i cancelled my plan. I will go with a cheaper provider now i feel more confident. I havent looked yet but i have a full pen waiting for me in the fridge so i have plenty of time!
weight is stable but i feel so unwell i dont give a damn!

night night

SussexLass87 · 23/06/2025 20:22

Wow - so many of us feeling shattered. Same here.

I feel like someone has literally drained my life force - tried to have a cheeky nap earlier though and just couldn't sleep or settle.

Very strange.

Hope you all manage an earlier night - massive sympathy @Bundleflower - it's tough when the babies are so young. My midwife told me when I had my first that a rest is very almost as good as sleep when my baby kept waking. It helped me as I found I couldn't relax back into sleep as I was worried the baby would be up again as soon as I shut my eyes! ☕️ 💐

Gingercar · 23/06/2025 21:22

I screenshot these from The Care Pharmacy’s Facebook page (which sadly is about to be removed due to Facebook regs). They have a lot of factsheets - this is the one on tiredness-

GeraniumRoseblush · 23/06/2025 21:34

I'm joining the 'where the hell did that side effect come from' gang- woke up during the night with diarrhoea which appeared out of nowhere, have no idea what triggered it as was fine when I went to bed and haven't suffered at all with it so far (week 8). But my gosh, there was a lot of OMGs and WTAFs coming from the bathroom 😅 it carried on through the night and I had a really busy day at a venue that was an hour's commute from home. Was so worried about being caught short but found some immodium, knocked back some of them and then prayed 😁 still not right now and eating bland food just in case it recurs as I'm at this new venue all week. Jeez, talk about timing!

GeraniumRoseblush · 23/06/2025 21:39

@SilkCottonTree I've also got the Renpho scales that @dizzyupthegirl86 mentioned. They're so useful to see muscle mass, water levels, body fat etc and they're cheap. I think totally worth it.

Gingercar · 23/06/2025 21:41

Having a paranoid- did I share the screenshots? Or are they just pending.
