Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

Yes, this strikes a chord with me.

chergar · 21/06/2025 20:41

Checking in to new thread

Started 5mg today, no SE except extreme tiredness as usual on jag day.

loses so far
wk1.-6.8
wk2 - 4.2
wk3 - 4.6
wk4 - 2.6
total loss 18.2lb

smaller loss this week but still a loss and I think more sustainable

FlorenceNightshade · 21/06/2025 21:01

Tonight after asking a fellow dog walker to put his out of control dogs on a lead as they were circling my on-lead (very small puppy sized) dog and barking at her he started shouting at me. I walked away but crossed paths with him later on, more shouting ensued (I tried to be reasonable but he wasn’t having it) ended up in tears on the way back to my car.

When I got home my husband was making a curry and I had a smaller than normal portion but also had some gelato and a few cinnamon pretzel things. So annoyed that my emotional reaction was still to eat crap after being upset! I definitely ate LESS crap than I would have before but crap is crap!

It really bugs me now that I can understand it better with the food noise being shut down more just how wired we are for food for all occasions! Bad day, good day, big day, sad day…food and drink is what we turn to!

Thanks for coming to my pity party 🙈

Gingercar · 21/06/2025 21:53

@FlorenceNightshade what a horrible man. I’m really sorry you had that happen. Why are there so many idiots around!🤬

I know what you're saying about the emotional eating - but that sounds like a horrible experience with a horrible man. Sending you a massive hug 🫂 I think: nothing wrong with some gelato tonight. Tomorrow is a new day x

If it helps @FlorenceNightshade I had a lion bar for breakfast after a load of family stuff kicked off last night.

Apprenante · 21/06/2025 22:29

👋 hello @ElsieJay! How's the holiday going?

Cucumberinginplease · 21/06/2025 23:50

Found you!!! I was panicking a bit there!

Well, concert was amazing, but I'm a sweaty puddle now, it was so hot!!
We stopped off and I got a salad from M&S and ate it by the floosie - Birmingham's very proud naked lady waterfall statue thingy. So panic over regarding that.

It's forecast to be cooler tomorrow, I am so pleased!

planesick · 22/06/2025 01:25

I have lost a bald eagle 🦅What have other people lost?
I have just come back from seeing Peter Kay and my brain is wired. I want to eat...but I won't! I will be strong!

Foreveronaplane · 22/06/2025 03:52

Ah, thought I’d lost the group. Checking In. Jabbed today (a few days late) as moved up to 5mg and needed to manage any SE. Here’s hoping they are limited. 12llbs down so far.

Elle771 · 22/06/2025 04:51

Checking in 🥰🥰

HereIGoOnceMore · 22/06/2025 08:46

Gingercar · 21/06/2025 16:37

It annoys me that list though, most of the things I am familiar with on it weigh loads different. Ie a welsh pony, even a small one, would weigh nearly double that. I think we should make up our own list.

Edited

I’d be up for that - I’m currently on 8Lb (slow but steady), which is a human head on that list but most heads are around 11Lb.

Further research tells me that I’ve lost a small cat, a raccoon, or a newborn baby.

Have a good day all.

ElsieJay · 22/06/2025 08:59

Hello @Apprenante @SussexLass87 @Seahorsesplendour @DidILeaveTheGasOn , and anyone I have inadvertently missed.
Have no idea of my present weight , but I have some shorts here that I couldn’t get on at Easter -they fitted fine when we arrived , and still fit now , so hoping I haven’t done too much damage. Not even halfway through the hols yet, however!
Trying to stick to grilled meat, preferably chicken, but seems the predominant meat is pork, and I’m not a fan. Luckily I don’t care for chips either, but finding the wonderful locally grown potatoes ( especially roasted) harder to resist , and same goes for ice cream - some delicious flavours.
Change of location and Self-catering from tomorrow for myself and DH until Friday ,so that should make for more control.
BUT big restaurant dinner on Saturday with all the wider family is looming !
Love this sort of outing normally - hopefully there’ll be so much chatter going on that nobody will notice if I skip a few plates ….
Have been mailed a £10 discount from Asda and have requested they contact me in 2 weeks, I’ll order a 2.5 pen ready for homecoming.
Preferably to collect from Asda pharmacy rather than deliver , but that’s dependent on supplies apparently .
DD and DSiL very vocal at the weekend about WL injections, both appalled how easy it seems to be to obtain in UK - am very relieved I didn’t fess up to them or to DH!
Sorry this is a bit rambling - the thrill of WiFi has gone to my head today.
Onwards and upwards, φίλου μου !

flyawaybirdieboo · 22/06/2025 09:01

Hey everyone, today is my 1 month jab anniversary. Iv lost 7.5lb since 22nd May, and that’s with one week All inclusive in Turkey
. I feel like I’m getting braver with food I’m eating and drinking as had no SE at all other than a bit of nausea on my first jab. I will be doing two months on 2.5mg and Iv just ordered next pen for 5mg as I feel as I’m getting braver with food I could be swayed to eat more naughty. But definitely enjoying the calmness around food with less food noise.

m00rfarm · 22/06/2025 09:23

I started around 88kg and now 83kg with the 2.5. Have been hovering 83-83.5kg for nearly 2 weeks and started the 5 last week. Hoping that the second 5 injection will start things moving again. I have just moved from obese to merely overweight. There is no visible difference though. The main issue is that I managed to sprain both ankles last Sunday, so my usual 2 hours a day of tennis or pickleball has been abruptly stopped - I am guessing that the lack of proper exercise is going to have a fairly large impact on future weight loss.

BETTYBOBBO · 22/06/2025 09:27

Hi, has anyone used a cooling case for transporting their pen whilst on holiday? I will finish the pen whilst away and also need to know how to safely dispose of it so I don’t t have to carry it home. Any tips?

Mounjour · 22/06/2025 09:52

I'm not sure about transporting @BETTYBOBBO as I've only travelled in UK. I just brought the pen and needle home (with the top back on the needle). If I wasn't keeping hold of the pens, I'd have thrown that in the general waste though.

Booklover2021 · 22/06/2025 10:19

Hi all, I'm an early June jabber but just thought I'd lurk here for advice, 10lbs down but did anyone find their weight stalled with their period? Mines due and it's my first one whilst on MJ so not sure what to expect xxx thank you!

ElsieJay · 22/06/2025 12:09

@BETTYBOBBO - someone on one of our previous threads kindly posted a link to a cooling case for me .
I can’t find the link now but if you search Amazon for “ insulated case for meds “ there are loads from £8 upwards.
Am sure other retailers/ sites are available!

ElsieJay · 22/06/2025 12:16

Aha, @Gingercar - I’ve read Thread 3 now, saw your post about name change . Glad you’re still here !
And also from Thread 3 @OhPolly - so glad your Ddog is on the road to recovery , she looked so content in that paddling pool ❤️.

Ahhh 👋 @ElsieJay Your holiday sounds amazing...hurray for WiFi! Sorry about the anti injection chat. Had one myself the other day and it was very awkward.

The person was so anti them, and misinformed that I cheekily I told them I'm on MJ just to see their face! The back peddling was very funny to see.

Enjoy your holidays! Brilliant news about the shorts 👏👏

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 22/06/2025 12:40

@SussexLass87 Did the person being anti WLI have any original objections or was it more anti WLI bingo?

Woodywig · 22/06/2025 13:33

Afternoon May starters

Hope everyone is well. Things are feeling brighter for me now I’m recovered from a terrible gastro bug and / or SE.

I am fully recovered and have now been able to take 3rd dose from second pen - albeit three days later than normal jab day. Though I did count clicks and took the 3.75mg dose instead of the full 5mg. Good news is no side effects at all so far - so I’m hopeful it was just a nasty bug and not tue severe reaction to the MJ that I was worried about.

After being completely unable to eat at all from Saturday to Monday and only able to eat a little on Tuesday and Wednesday, I’m now absolutely starving and have been really enjoying having what my body craves which has been fresh fruit and real fruit juice ice lollies. I’ve been eating a bit more carb than I was before getting ill - a few jacket pots, rice cakes with marmite etc…it’s just what my body is craving so I’m going with it - while sticking within my calorie allowance (500 under tdee).

So glad to be finally feeling better! It was a tough week.

solidarity to anyone suffering SE or gastro issues xx
