Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

@BETTYBOBBO - someone on one of our previous threads kindly posted a link to a cooling case for me .
I can’t find the link now but if you search Amazon for “ insulated case for meds “ there are loads from £8 upwards.
Am sure other retailers/ sites are available!

Yes I stall / slow during period weeks - I tend lose only 1lb compared to my usual 2lb xx

BerfyTigot · 22/06/2025 14:15

Sneaky midweek weigh in last night gave me a bit of a boost.

SW 102.2kg
CW 94.5 kg (5.5 weeks in)

7.7 kg lost 🥳

Have been stuck for a couple of weeks so really pleased.
Hope everyone else doing well in this heat 🥵

BerfyTigot · 22/06/2025 14:23

I've lost a sperms whale's brain.

Next stop: a car tyre 😆

@SussexLass87 Did the person being anti WLI have any original objections or was it more anti WLI bingo?

Oh my word - it was absolutely WLI bingo!
🎲

  • it's lazy
  • you should lose the weight "properly"
  • just eat less and move more
  • how do you know it's even genuine?
  • you're big, but you're not that fat
  • it's cheating
  • you'll put all the weight back on again

They managed to get all of those in before I interrupted 🤣

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 22/06/2025 15:22

It's so ridiculous! I'm glad you told them you were on them.

Pennydoenstwhistle · 22/06/2025 15:45

Hi everyone ,
I have been lurking around here for ages so I thought I may as well join in.
I started 5 weeks ago and I have lost 15lbs so far which I think it’s 10dozen eggs!
I love reading through the threads, great tips and motivation!
I have decided to stay on 2.5mg as I have good suppression on it .
Hope everyone is having a good day 🙂

OhPolly · 22/06/2025 16:00

Hello everyone!

Just place marking here.

I've lost 5.4kg/12lb so far and took my first 5mg on Friday night.

We went to a BBQ yesterday but I didn't overindulge too much and was careful what I ate.

However I woke up in the middle of the night feeling nauseous and ended up being sick. This happened occasionally the first time I took MJ and I think it's because the food sits in my stomach for longer.

I felt a lot better afterwards and went back to sleep for a few hours.

We've swapped dinner round today so had a big meal about 1.30pm and will just have something light such as cereal for tea. I prefer it that way sometimes 🤣

tostaky · 22/06/2025 16:06

My DP saw a couple he had not seen in an year. The last time he saw the man, the man told him that they were both starring WLI. It was a year ago. DP saw them both today and the wife probs dont know her husband told my DP about the jab last year. When my DP said wow you’re saw different than last year. She straight away said, dont worry i am not ill, i have just lost weight.
It makes me a bit sad that people might assume that.
my DP said that she lost perhaps too much weight - her husband did lose weight but it was less dramatic.
i would like to stop before people start worrying about me being ill! Then again i am very far away from this now!

With DD and DSiL it was a bit more difficult as they are both diabetic - DD has Type1, so needs insulin injections, her main objection was worries about continuity of supply.
But DSiL is Type 2 , he struggles with his weight and the very meat-focussed diet here doesn’t help .
He works long hours and apart from walking and cycling doesn’t do much exercise.
His endocrinologist suggested WLI’s as a stepping stone to more healthy lifestyle, but he worries about possible long term side effects and is totally opposed to them.
Ironically , DSiL is a doctor.

Mounjour · 22/06/2025 16:08

Welcome @Pennydoenstwhistle

@OhPolly do you find it leaves you feeling poorly afterwards or is it just a case of being sick and feeling better?
Left to my own devices, I much prefer a light breakfast mid-morning and a main meal early afternoon and then fasting. This is possible on a weekend. So, just had a stir fry and feeling I ate too much. Need to remember this when I go up a dose.

Ah lots going on there for you - tricky to navigate! Especially with it being family, always an extra element of dynamics there.

Hope you're having a wonderful time away 🏖🌴

I always feel much better afterwards. I didn't go to sleep feeling nauseous. I think the food just settles in my stomach if it's 'heavy' and doesn't digest as fast.

A lot of the times, it can be when I've had certain types of chicken which can also cause sulphur burps.

I'm stocked up on pepto bismol!

OhPolly · 22/06/2025 16:52

Me and OH have booked a Mon-Fri get away, last minute for the end of June. We are off to a lodge in the South West or Scotland, which has a hot tub and will be taking DDog with us.

We are both very burnt out and just need some peace and quiet. We've yet to have a holiday this year with everything that has gone on.

GherkinsOnToast · 22/06/2025 17:05

Afternoon all,

Sorry to hear some are struggling. Friday was w8 and my last dose of 2.5mg - I twisted my pen a far as I could and got our about 8 or 10 more clicks. I didn't weigh myself on Friday as I was struggling with the dreaded lack of 💩 thanks to the heat and not enough liquid intake. All solved on Saturday by a gut buster juice shot and 2 espressos 😮😊Once that was sorted I was down just under 1kg.

SW105.4
GW 80kg
CW 97.6
so just over 7.5kg down and moving to 5mg on Friday.

DottyMcDiet · 22/06/2025 17:15

I did my 3rd 3.75mg dose today, after 4 weeks at 2.5.

My only SE has been the dreaded ❌ 💩 and that appears to be finally resolving without resorting to medication.

11kg down and I feel so much better!

I don't understand why people are so offended by the concept of WLI! It's not their body and it's none of their business. If I hear one more 'it's not that hard, you just have to eat less and exercise more' comment!!! The whole multibillion pound diet industry has been built around the the misconception that it's is 'just that easy'!!!

WLI finally help people who are physiological predisposed to overeating, partly due to evolutionary survival mechanisms. It's a life changing medical treatment but yet there is so much underlying prejudice about it from fatphobic folk who actually want people to remain fat because it probably makes them feel better about themselves.

Sometimes I wonder if thin people might even be threatened by the thought of losing the social superiority status - now they'll have to work on their personalities too! 😂. Watch out folks, the fat and fabulous people are getting hotter, healthier and more confident, there will be no stopping us! 😀 💪💃😂

Sorry, rant over 😂

FlorenceNightshade · 22/06/2025 17:45

@SussexLass87 @Gingercar Thank you for the kind words very annoyed with myself for getting so upset!!

@Mounjour fairly certain Lion Bars are a valid breakfast choice so I hope you enjoyed it!!! I hope your family drama is more calm today!

I decided today to get back out on my bike, not been on it since I had a wee accident a few years ago and lost my confidence. I think after yesterday’s run in with that p@£&k at the park I needed a wee boost! So back in the saddle I went! Still nervous but hopefully time will build up confidence as I really love exercising outdoors.

Loving everyone’s updates keep them coming team!!! ✌️

dizzyupthegirl86 · 22/06/2025 17:55

Hello all - I’m new to this thread but Mounjaro is taking over my life (in a good way) and I love hearing about it!
I started 18th may so I’m five weeks in as of today. Still on 2.5mg. Starting weight 236lbs, I’m currently 12.8lbs (or a bald eagle) down. I lost 6lbs in my first week and since then 1.4-1.9lbs every week, which I’m pleased with. It could be more but I’ve had two pre arranged dinners out where I’ve not eaten/drank as healthy as I could have - fine with that, I’m still having a life - but I’m now looking forward to a couple of weeks of focus with nothing to slip me up!

Mounjour · 22/06/2025 18:28

@OhPolly I’ve just booked a three night hot tub break too. Ours is a shepherd’s hut. Never stayed in one before and we really needed something to look forward to.

@FlorenceNightshade thank you lovely. I have felt better as the weekend went on.

Welcome @dizzyupthegirl86 !

I can’t remember if I have already mentioned this but I weighed in at 11st 13lb this morning. The scales are moving again! My non-linear weightloss seems very hormone-related. The last time I weighed this weight was January 2019. That’s quite mind blowing and something to remember when I am frustrated by “slow” progress.

GherkinsOnToast · 22/06/2025 18:35

Forgot to mention earlier - I wore shorts today! Out out in public, with people I know present! Shorts are normally saved for garden days when no one will see me!

Gingercar · 22/06/2025 18:50

@Mounjour id be interested to hear what the shepherd’s hut is like. We keep thinking about getting one to let out.

Ive had a mixed weekend. Stayed on track, it’s been the first week I haven’t been out in. But it’s my birthday next week and I’m going out for three meals! The weather has been iffy here so my cafe was quieter. Had a 😱😱 moment yesterday when a customer wanted to film my cafe for his YouTube channel. My cafe is a converted horse trailer. He had a drone and took some fabulous footage which he made into a 3 minute film. But he interviewed me. I had no make up on and could very easily have run away and hid! But I didn’t actually look as bad, or fat, as I expected!

dc82 · 22/06/2025 18:55

Heya everyone!! Hope you’re all well and losing eagles, eggs and grass strimmers.

I’ve been a bit awol as work was insane last week and then I went away for the weekend (I have been popping in and out to read some of the chat though). Because I wanted to be able to enjoy some nice food this weekend, I delayed injection 6 from Friday morning to this evening. I did manage to eat some yummy stuff and have a couple of drinks and I really enjoyed it but also didn’t go bananas (I didn’t know I could do moderation 😄). Weighed in today and it was 1lb loss, which considering everything this week I’m pretty ok with.

HereIGoOnceMore · 22/06/2025 18:56

I heard a good quote on some weight loss training I did at work. Telling someone to eat less and move more, is like telling someone struggling in deep water to drown less and swim more.

Has anyone ever suggested a lifebouy is cheating I wonder?

Checking into the new thread. I moved up to 5mg and had my second jab on Friday. The major SE for me have been fatigue and constipation.
I had so much energy on 2.5 but suppression wasn't great. I used to go for long morning walks on my days off but now I can't get out of bed before 10am and I have to force myself.
After my first 5mg jab I stayed in bed til 3pm because I was that exhausted. But now I know what to expect . suppression is great for the first 4/5 days but I just feel so tired. Is anyone else going through this?
