Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

@lissie123 i dont think it was “missing” as such but it has been a revelation! I love it, i feel more confident in myself and in my body, i feel good because im looking after my physical health, i have more energy and a more positive outlook. I feel you ger! It’s a game changer. i also feel like i am role modelling healthier eating habits to my kids - so important! Not normalising snack and upfs culture, but normalising small portions of nutritious food.
i am so very grateful for it.
also i feel as a 48 yo woman, i do not take hrt or any other meds and so it is more than ok to get a nudge from MJ if needed (and it was needed!)
i would be happy to remain on it for ever!
im happy to report a 1kg loss tbis week after thinking i was plateau-ing!

FlorenceNightshade · 22/07/2025 10:48

Weekly check in for me today.

11th jab complete, 6th at 5mg.

SW 92.9
CW 77.9

Total loss so far 15kg 16% body weight
BMI down from 30 to 25.2 in 10 weeks!!

Loss this week 0.9kg but been on nights so I’m happy with that! Nights again this week so will just do my best to get some exercise every day and hopefully a decent sleep!

I have been tired and nauseous this week but that could be my shift pattern, trying to eat on nights has always been hard for me so will try to do better this week and hopefully see a difference. If not I might do 3.75mg next week.

Heart warming to hear how everyone is winning little battles (and big ones!) in their own way. You are all amazing and should be bloody proud of how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved in a few short weeks!

Onwards and downwards ✌️

Gingercar · 22/07/2025 11:13

I don’t think of MJ as a missing part, but for me it’s been a very useful tool, and I hope it “keeps me steady” for the whole journey. I’m now so used to not having suppression and having to curb my hunger regularly that I’m dithering about going up to 7.5 because I don’t want to not be able to eat. I definitely do think MJ is doing something and is helping, but I definitely want to stop taking it at the other end. I want to have somewhat retrained my eating habits and to be in a lean and healthy position to pick the ball up myself to stay fit and slim. I’m using MJ as a means to get to an easier position to do this. I really don’t want to continue on any drug that I don’t need. For the moment the risks of MJ are less than the risks of the issues obesity brings, but once I have lost the weight the risks are there alone, so to speak. I know people with diabetes can be on it long term, but to me that’s different as theyre offsetting other risks. So I’d rather come off if. But these are just my personal feelings- everyone makes their own decisions. I’m m not judging anyone who decides otherwise.

FlorenceNightshade · 22/07/2025 11:31

@lissie123 @tostaky @Gingercar so interesting to hear your thoughts!! Bits of what you have all said really resonate with me.

I think for me using MJ has made all the difference. I would never have lost 15kg in 10 weeks without it. I led a relatively healthy lifestyle before but struggled with food noise and bad habits like pretty much everyone else.

I couldn’t just move more and eat less without being very miserable, MJ means I am doing that and not even thinking about it.

I also have had barely any side effects, I think our thread has shown that extreme side effects do happen but are relatively rare and for me I was happy to take that risk.

Moving forward when I’m ready to stop (I have no idea when that may be!) I’ll titrate down slowly and if I end up microdosing I’m ok with that. The financial cost is worth it to me to maintain all the hard work. And it has still been hard work. Choosing to take medication isn’t something I imagine any of us have done lightly. Prioritising our health is hard. Working out and being more active is hard. I’m hopeful my new habits will stick but if they don’t I’m okay with taking MJ for as long as I need to.

Its a cliche but it has changed my outlook and what I believe to be possible for myself!

SussexLass87 · 22/07/2025 15:14

Waves from a campsite in Dorset...no phone signal...no electric 😜😜👋👋

Hope you're all doing well...not enough signal or battery to read all the news but sending hugs and high fives all round.

MJ + camping = "interesting" !!

Gingercar · 22/07/2025 15:20

That made me smile @SussexLass87 - I’ll look forward to hearing about it when you’re back. Have fun!

Im also smiling because the regular customer that was in my cafe a couple of weeks ago and who remarked that I’d lost weight/looked well but then said “I hope you’re not on those silly injections!” came back in today. Proceeded to tell me that she’d just had her breast implants removed as they were leaking. So I thought she was in no place to tell me off for injecting (not that I told her, I just said I was eating healthy food, which is true).

SignedUpAgain · 22/07/2025 16:24

Had my first person comment on my weight loss today.

Was kinda weird and I didn't really acknowledge it properly. She asked how I was doing it. And I lied and said "eating less"

I've lost nearly 2 stone, but no one else has said anything, but then most wouldn't. I mean I wouldn't say anytime that- it's so personal.

This friend is usually quite blunt. In the past she has (when drunk) suggested I get a gastric band, or lose weight.

I guess I could have been honest with her. Maybe i will at some point.

I've done 11 weeks. Been quite a lot of SE.

4 weeks 2.5
8 weeks 5
Moving on to 7.5 this week.

SaintAgatha · 22/07/2025 16:37

@SignedUpAgain I haven’t told anyone aside from one of my best friends, who is also taking MJ. Your quite blunt (rude as fuck!) friend doesn’t need to know how you’re doing it.

I’m about to move up to 7.5mg with my next order. I wish you luck! Onwards and downwards.

ElsieJay · 22/07/2025 18:14

Congratulations to all the losers - @Gingercar , just shows how the pounds can add up . I think slow and steady is the way to go. Sorry about the loss of your bunny.
@SignedUpAgain - you weren’t lying, you are eating less!
It does make me cross, those people who assume we make zero effort if we’re having weight loss injections 😡.
@Mounjour - great to hear you’re feeling more positive . Jeans and a sparkly top sound fine, the main thing is to be comfortable and confident . Have a great time !
@SussexLass87 - camping would be my idea of hell, so hats off to you ! Hope the weather is agreeable and do the best you can in the circumstances.

Asda online pharmacy have finally approved my order, so fingers crossed should collect it after 3pm tomorrow and jab that same evening.
I’m still getting to grips with the WW eating plan , there’s a very useful app to record your food intake , check the WW points of whatever you eat and (very helpfully) analyses the fat, carb and protein content.
Don’t feel I will have done very well this week as have had three meals out - I need that appetite suppression, and fast !

Gingercar · 22/07/2025 19:20

A friend noticed that I’d lost weight today too. I didn’t mention the jabs. Just said I’d cut sugar and was trying to eat healthier. Which is true.
I got offered a prediabetes course on the NHS as my bloods were just on the prediabetic scale. I initially thought it was just one session, but it turns out it’s once a fortnight for two months, then once a month after that. It’s diet, nutrition and exercise advice and they weigh you each session. A few people know I’m doing that, so it’s a handy smokescreen for the injections if need be. I will tell people eventually. I’d like to be able to tell them when I’m at goal and maintaining! (🤞🤞🤞!!)

BerfyTigot · 22/07/2025 19:44

10 week weigh in and I'm down 400g. Bit disappointing but I've definitely been hungrier and eaten more carbs😳

SW 102.2kg
CW 92.4kg

I really wanted to have lost 10kg in 10 weeks, but life is never neat like that, is it?😆

Also just got back blood test results and sadly my inflammatory markers are back up to their usual levels. I know this probably all means that I should move up a few clicks but I have such bad side effects for 24hrs that I can't face it. I'm definitely not eating as much as without MJ but it's slow progress and crisps and sweets have crept back in to my diet 😪.

But I'm staying with it for now, because it's still worth it to me.

Hope the rest of you are doing better 🤞🤞

Gingercar · 22/07/2025 19:59

That still looks pretty damned impressive to me @BerfyTigot. You shouldn’t be disappointed. Especially with being so up and down with side effects. That might affect your inflammation levels too perhaps?

SussexLass87 · 22/07/2025 20:11

Hello all...I'm back. Camping with DH and the kids was absolutely lovely but it's also absolutely lovely to be home with wifi and electric 😄

We went to a site with a lake included so have been paddleboarding every day...lush. Touch stressful when your solar charger doesn't work so the kids tablets (both ND and need them to chill and regulate) wouldn't charge.

Camping on MJ...hehe...DH and I both realised quickly that we'd both forgotten to take our doses before going...but it was interesting that we both ate a lot less than previous trips. So positive! But...traipsing across the site to the loos multiple times a night / day...not so fun! 😜 Also food! The usual bbq / processed food that's easy to store obviously didn't cut it but managed with salads, cold meats and tinned tomatoe soup.

So sorry about your bunny @BerfyTigot - I love bunnies. Such special animals!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Congrats on the house move! 🏡

@Elsiejay hehe...I must admit I'm a bit of a boujie camper...proper coffee, camping sofa etc...definitely missed the phone signal at this site! 😄

Seahorsesplendour · 22/07/2025 20:20

Hi all lovely catching up with all the messages too many to reply to all! Sorry to those struggling with MJ or life stuff that is sent to test! Flowers

we’ll done to losers or those celebrating NSV’s! Not much to report here! Plodding on!! Only 11ams until we go away and thinking I might have to get a few new clothes!!

GherkinsOnToast · 22/07/2025 20:49

@SignedUpAgain frankly it's none of her business - if you tell her what will you gain, probably nothing but she will gain what she believes is a weapon to us to put down your efforts - because without effort MJ doesn't do it all!

@Mounjour great to see you're feeling more positive.

No one seems to have noticed the over 10kg loss here - but I am still hiding under giant clothes!

Today I hit a big milestone I've been waiting for I'm below 95kgs! On Friday it's 12 weeks of 8 weeks 2.5mg and 4 weeks of 5mg. I'm going to go up to 7.5 and see what happens...

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 22/07/2025 21:05

Love having you back @Elsiejay, quite fond of our little May cohort.

Feel out of whack with eating. We're now in the middle of nowhere so cosy notions of popping to the Co-op for some coriander have been very much put to rest. We've got a big garden now, so I'd like to develop the type of personality where I have my shit together AND am capable of growing a herb garden.

It could happen...

In the meantime, I can't remember the last time I had a yoghurt bowl! I need to go out exploring to find the nearest supermarkets, and I need to adapt to a big range cooker that has its own ideas about how things are done.

We went out for lunch on the weekend and I had this wonderful salmon and mango salad, it was fantastic. I'd love to recreate that at home.

I also want to sleep for a week.

Apprenante · 22/07/2025 22:26

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Your new home sounds great BUT I think your desire for a week's sleep and at the same time becoming a self-sufficient gardener might be mutually exclusive.

The salmon and mango salad sounds lush - so long as you're not determined to grow your own 🥭 and start farming salmon.

I'm visualising you as Barbara from the Good Life. (I'm old enough to have watched that the first time it was broadcast)

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 22/07/2025 22:37

Think the sheer volume of cats we have might make it difficult to farm salmon. Lots of the cats are a bit daft though, maybe we could rescue salmon? It's getting away from me...

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 22/07/2025 22:47

I’m currently on holiday for a week in Spain. Struggling with being able to log anything on my fitness pal so I’ve given up. Also having a couple of glasses of wine with dinner every night although quite proud of myself for not day drinking! Am definitely still having much smaller portions. Am not hopeful for a loss this week - but will be delighted if I don’t put on!

Terry2025 · 22/07/2025 23:06

As the 2.5MG was still working for me I got two pens on a special offer. However, as you have already guessed the 2.5 mg has now stopped working!!
So, my plan is to move up to 3.75MG by increasing clicks by 30
I am wondering whether it would be better to do that injection in one go or to do that as two separate injections 3 1/2 days apart? Has anyone done this approach that could give me any feedback? Thanks.

stripesdotsdashes · 22/07/2025 23:18

Hi all, I've been lurking whilst v busy in home life but disappointed I've plateaued for the past few weeks, no loss to report. 6.5kg lost on 3 months. Just went up to 5mg a week ago, but pretty sure tomorrow's weigh in will show no change as I've been sneaky daily weighing.
Frustrating as im only 3kg off being 'normal' BMI, and nearly in body fat rabge, and then I want to stop, but seems my body likes this set point it's stuck at. Im doing lots of exercise, eating really well, few beers once at weekend but nothing crazy. I really hope to budge soon as I dont know what else to change.

MoggiMay · 22/07/2025 23:40

Checking in

sW 18st 11
cW 16st 5
tW 12st 7 but I may try for 10st 7 depending on how quickly I can reach tW

GherkinsOnToast · 23/07/2025 08:15

@stripesdotsdashes I also had a plateau when I started 5mg 2 weeks of the scales not moving - I think my body was adjusting to the weightloss. Have lost the last couple of weeks so back on track.

MyScaredCat · 23/07/2025 08:19

@Mounjoursorry for delay. No signal here.
i changed jab day. I’m normally a Wednesday and 2 weeks before I did the Thursday and then jabbed the Friday before I left on Saturday.
im going to jab on the Monday when I’m home, and then a day later each week to get back to Wednesday.
hope that made sense.
Can’t believe how much I’ve eaten and drank on holiday when I’m just not able to at home. The scales will be interesting when I’m home 🤣

Mounjour · 23/07/2025 08:58

Thank you. I think I’m going to stick to my normal jab the week before my holiday and then jab a day late after I get back 🤔.

Battling with constipation again here ☹️
