Well I have swung from total constipation to explosive diarrhoea 😔. Don’t know if it’s the mounjaro or a virus but it has been very very bad. So today I’ve been eating humbugs and digestive biscuits and drinking sweet tea. It’s all I ever want when I am ill, figure it must have some efficacy? But it’s 5 hours since the last explosion so I’m going to try some salad.

GeraniumRoseblush · 08/07/2025 18:56

@Zebracat I'm joining you on the diarrhoea train. Ugh. Horrible isn't it! 😳 It came out of nowhere again and I spent half the night nursing the loo. Lovely! Took immodium during the night and it calmed down eventually. Just wish I knew why it happens randomly, my last jab (still 2.5mg) was Thursday and I honestly can't think what I ate yesterday that would have triggered it. Anyway have been very cautious today and only eaten toast with honey so hoping for some respite (and sleep!) tonight! Hope you feel better soon @Zebracat

PoisonIvy89 · 08/07/2025 19:07

@dozywelshbird congrats on being overweight!

@Coventree I am in awe of your pooping skills!

Thanks @wlinewbie0425 you're right of course, slow progress is lots better than no progress

@Hawkmoth I actually like protein powder in my overnight oats and shakes and was using it long before mounjaro. Maybe you haven't found the right one yet, I tried a few yucky ones before finding and loving the protein works vegan protein

@AbundanceofKatherines also not a fan of mixing it into yoghurt

@Zebracat and @GeraniumRoseblush hope you both feel better soon

@violetmondays Great NSV!

dozywelshbird · 08/07/2025 21:13

Thanks @PoisonIvy89 🤣😁

Lidlbitofmonica · 08/07/2025 21:28

Right, you’ve influenced me into the fruit cubes @Coventree , as I’m still not going enough!

Just wanted to share two NSVs. I can take off my wedding rings whenever I want now, previously they had been stuck on my finger for a long time. Also, my husband commented today that he was noticing the colour of my eyes more, because he can see my face getting thinner. That’s almost romantic for the two of us!

Merlin23 · 08/07/2025 22:28

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words.
I have thought about getting rid of the clothes, but like many of us I've been here before. I have kept 4 of 7 stone off from a previous diet.
I will be very mindful to help me but as others have said I too worry about having an appetite again. I now force myself to eat. I buy food that I enjoy good meat so I can enjoy eating it.
I still have just over 2 stone to lose to be a healthy weight. So onwards and (scale) downwards.

We've all got this!

wlinewbie0425 · 09/07/2025 06:16

Joining in on the protein chat - I don’t like the powders usually but someone recommended the one in B&M that’s a clear whey protein. I got the peach flavour one and it’s quite sweet but very easy to drink. I use more water than recommended and whisk for ages, then strain through a fine sieve. Don’t lose much but prevents the gritty bits.

Sorry to hear about the back up turning to the runs @GeraniumRoseblush@Zebracat that’s not a nice alternative. Hope you both feel better and more regular soon. I’m still feeling a bit of the former and it’s frustrating as sure it’s contributed to today’s weigh in being a tiny loss.

Wednesday weigh in for me is only a 0.6lb loss. I expected a smaller loss after last week’s whoosh but as a daily weigher I know I was a whole lb less than this a few days ago so I am blaming 💩 and also due period.

the silver lining though is even that 0.6lb takes me down another stone bracket just into the 11s which has been amazing to see on the scales as by the bottom end of this stone I will reach top end of healthy weight!

Hope the other Wednesday weighers have some losses and/or NSVs today. Jab 12 for me, we’ve been doing this a while now!

‘Poo-phoria’ @ymemanresu, love it!

Bet you will look fab @violetmondays, rocking your belt 👗

Oh @Zebracat and @GeraniumRoseblush, hope you both feel better today ☹️

Hope they work for you as well as they’ve worked for me @Lidlbitofmonica and anyone else thinking of using the cubes 😬 (Amazon was the cheapest, I believe). Will be interested to see if you get same results - as I say, it took a few days of two a day to kick in. And definite 👏 for the rings NSV. It’s horrible when they’re stuck. Aw, how (almost) romantic 👀

Coventree · 09/07/2025 06:24

Wednesday weigh-in time for me…and 2lb lost 🎉 (must be all the 💩 after zero loss last week!), taking me to 30lb in total. Still got another 3st to go before I’m anywhere near where I want to be, so can’t really even think about life after MJ. But steadily chipping away and building up the exercise so hopefully creating those good habits for the future. Jab 12 later today, taking 7.5mg from an 5mg pen, and sticking with the 7.5mg for my next pen 👍

Coventree · 09/07/2025 06:27

Well done for tipping into the next stone bracket @wlinewbie0425, a real mood boost…but totally understand the up and down frustration of daily weighing (I still eagerly do it first thing every morning though!)

wlinewbie0425 · 09/07/2025 06:30

@Lidlbitofmonicathats a lovely NSV - this is something I’ve really noticed on the videos of MJ people on tik tok - some of them have huge, lovely eyes that didn’t show up so well in their before pics (even without those freaky effects that make them that way - those creep me out).

@violetmondays rediscovering your old clothes is the best NSV, enjoy wearing your lovely dress with the belt! I’m the same this weekend - have a lunch with a large group of friends I don’t see often and found a button up linen blend dress that didn’t even come close to doing up for years, but now fits perfectly, it will be such a change to feel comfortable in the heat, and more confident again.

@Crunchymum that’s amazing achieving stopping smoking and alcohol, you sound really focused on best way to tackle this last addiction. There are a few others on this thread and others like yourself who haven’t felt much suppression until higher doses. that must be so frustrating when lots of us talk about it from 2.5. I read something about it being thought that those with greater insulin resistance don’t feel the effects much until higher doses so perhaps it’s that and when you get to the right dose you will know. Hope it does get easier for you after all your effort.

Hi All. I've not posted since the first thread but check in periodically. Great to see everyone's losses, NSV's, poop struggles and experiences generally!

Myself, I have been on 3.75mg since week 5. I've lost a total of 26lbs/11kgs on MJ (but 30lbs overall) and I'm now a comfortable size 14 so I'm really pleased with that. I'm very lucky that I've had no side effects beyond the first week apart from a random day of burping last week! However the last 3 weeks, I've been gaining and losing the same 2lbs. I feel happy with the way 3.75mg reduces the food noise, I wouldn't say I get hungry but I'm now usually ready for my tea, and I feel like I'm able to eat more during meals. I would say I'm eating "normally" but this obviously isn't translating to weight loss and I still have 2 stone to go. I haven't started regular exercise yet (had a really stressful time recently and all that's taken a back seat but stress could also be the reason I'm hanging on to weight) so I know I can probably make a reasonable change by adding in exercise. Would you stay on 3.75mg or try 5mg to see if I can kick-start a loss? I'm worried about going too high up the doses and my eating habits becoming unsustainable when it comes to stopping.

SweetChilliGirl · 09/07/2025 10:15

I haven't posted for a while either but check in regularly and love reading about everyone's successes!

I weighed this morning (I weigh and record on jab day so this is 'unofficial') and have now lost two stone! I told my husband I'd now lost a stone (I can't bring myself to tell him how heavy I'd let myself get!) and he said, 'Wow, really that much? Well done!' 😁

violetmondays · 09/07/2025 13:09

@wlinewbie0425 great news about the dress! I always find button up dresses to be not forgiving at all so it's so lovely you can comfortably wear it now. Hope you have a lovely lunch with your friends this weekend!

@TheDogsKnees I am in a similar position, I am still on 3.75 and although I am losing a tiny bit it is getting harder and slower. Although I am not in a rush I would like to lose a bit more before I go on holiday in a month so I am planning on going up to 5 either the next dose or the one after. I am hoping the increase will be enough to to just tip it but not be enough to give major side effects or too much suppression.

@SweetChilliGirl if only he knew!! 😜

Well done @Coventree @wlinewbie0425 @dozywelshbird on your losses and @Lidlbitofmonica great NSVs!

@Zebracat I hope you're feeling better, sounds like it's been one extreme to the other, not nice at all.

Seahawk80 · 09/07/2025 13:13

Well done to everyone on the NSVs / losses / 💩 victories!

V quick check in from me as work manic but I love reading about everyone’s progress. Weigh in day for me and 0.5lb down which I’m happy with as had a crazy week with lots of drinking and work lunches and dinners. Big push for next week as I really want to dip under 12 stone and 2 stone lost before I go away!

Scousebloke · 09/07/2025 13:36

I am another who has not posted for a while, so I assume this thread has been a man free zone (It is mumsnet after all). Well done to everyone for carrying on. I've had a little pause on my weight loss as stayed the same last week. Still lost 26lb in 11 weeks so can't complain. Constipation isn't great as a few of you very well know 😉

violetmondays · 09/07/2025 14:32

Ahh @Scousebloke missed your updates! 26lb in 11 weeks is insane if you think about it (compared to without MJ)! I have lost 25 so a very similar amount. I am not sure if there are any other men on the thread but all are welcome as far as I am concerned 😊

Hawkmoth · 09/07/2025 16:07

Weigh in Wednesday: W12D1

Lost 2kg last week, 6kg in 4 weeks (since I last went to the chemist).

I'll be staying on 5mg!

It's a bit confusing as to how much I have lost since starting because I gave up sugar a week before starting the jabs and lost a LOT of weight that week as well, plus the chemist scales weigh 8kg lower than mine and GP scales (what a poor business decision for a WLI provider!) but it's between 20 and 24kg.

Had a look though, and to be in the middle of the healthy range, I have to lose half of my current weight, which is 114kg. That seems really daunting actually, but I'm going to do my best!

I've already smashed the 15% of starting bodyweight target, which is fantastic and I'm quite proud of myself.

Brunocatmon · 09/07/2025 17:42

So I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 5lbs since the day I went on holiday 11 days ago so maybe the plane weight was a thing and instead of maintaining on holiday like I thought, I had actually lost a little.

Flowerchild547 · 09/07/2025 21:12

I’m another one who has gone MIA for a few weeks whilst life got manic.

People are doing so incredibly well. It’s astounding really.

I’ve lost 2lb this week (a couple of days ago that was 3lb) which brings my total to 26lb.

It’s also my jab day today and whilst I thought I would stay on 5 for another month, I decided to give 7.5 a try with the thought that I can count clicks and reduce down if I don’t enjoy it this week.

I’m starting to get disheartened that I’ve been doing this for 3 months and it feels like I haven’t even made a dent in where I need to get too. But that is the bed I made when I allowed myself to get to this weight I guess. I think it’s finally sinking in how long this process is likely to take and like others, I am worried about what happens after.

toobusytoclean · 09/07/2025 22:27

Jab day weigh in and another 1lb lost. Slow and steady. 15lbs in 11 weeks is fine.
final 5mg jab this evening then up to 7.5mg next week - end of school term next Friday so have some time and space to manage any SEs from the increase.
Well done everyone on your losses. I’m starting to get a bit of a flabby bum so will be looking to add some strength work in at the gym when the summer break starts. Should also be able to do 5 Aqua classes a week and 2 yoga classes

PoisonIvy89 · 09/07/2025 23:25

Well done @wlinewbie0425 into the 11s is fantastic!! @Coventree @TheDogsKnees @SweetChilliGirl @Seahawk80 @Scousebloke @violetmondays @Hawkmoth @Brunocatmon @Flowerchild547 @toobusytoclean So many excellent losses today!!!

Crunchymum · 10/07/2025 07:43

Hello all. We'll done on all the losses, NSV's and just generally digging in and getting on with it.

I weighed a day early as I won't have my scales tomorrow and I'm -2lb

So that's -25lbs in 11 week. -3lbs away from losing 2st.

I'm away 2 weeks today so I'd be over the moon if I could shift that 3lb.

I seem to be having the opposite of NSV's though. Nobody seems to have noticed? None of my clothes are too big? My size 18 knickers aren't falling down? 😂

I'm absolutely thrilled to bits with my loss but thought by now I would look a bit slimmer. I'm all still tummy?

AbundanceofKatherines · 10/07/2025 10:20

Morning lovelies.

Well done to everyone! @Crunchymum- I predict you’ll miss out size 16 altogether and go straight to 14s in a couple of weeks 🤞

I’m off on holiday again, for 3 weeks this time. I was going to bring my scales but have just realised I forgot them so will be weight blind 😳 Am taking my pen and hope to continue to lose on holiday - albeit perhaps a little slower.

I weighed yesterday at 10st 9.5 - which is 26lbs in total so far.

keep up the great work!

x

Coffeeandallthebooks · 10/07/2025 11:18

Hello everyone, it is great to hear of losses and NSV's galore!
Also sympathise with the poo problems, this week has been all or nothing for me, after my complaints about constipation I have found alternating is worse.
Is anyone else still suffering side effects? I was sick last week on day 5 (of week 9!) And I wanted to move up to 7.5 but they dont seem to be settling down so I dont know if it would be a good idea.
Still lost 1lb this week which takes me to 22lbs lost, 13 7 or 189lbs, so I am still quite pleased despite no longer being good company at lunch!
