Still feeling a bit sick after my first dose 🤢 just ate a small dinner yesterday and nothing else which helped a bit, but need to give myself a kick to eat more. Trying to do more keto style lunches so I get the protein/fat hit without the carbs filling me up after a few bites, but expensive to eat chicken breasts etc every day!

re: regular weights and not losing weight, I lost loads without the gym and stalled once I started going more - assume water retention and some muscle growth, plus a bit sneaky eating more which doesn’t show up when you don’t weigh everything you eat precisely (another teaspoon of oil in a dressing, or an extra potato surprisingly adds up when you’re not eating loads). On the other hand I looked miles better after regular gym and dropped a dress size without my weight shifting at all. Photos really helped to see the differences even without the scale shifting.

Beans and pulses have protein and are much cheaper than meat.

MontysMum909 · 18/06/2025 14:24

@Crinklecat I took my second jab early (after 5 days) because I had no side effects or suppression. I read it was ok to do that. Second jab made all the difference!! Hope you get the same effect.

CreepingCrone · 18/06/2025 14:28

W1D6 for me. Am not sleeping great, feeling very tired. Bit more of an appetite today, but I'm also having a really stressful time at home, so I honestly don't know whether it's physical or emotional/psychological hunger.
Have been a bit bunged up, despite eating lots of veg, so I've added a tsp of inulin to my brekkie.
I have a work awayday tomorrow which I'm nervous about. A very long day with travelling. Worried about what the lunch catering will be, access to the loo, and whether I'll be able to drink 2.5 litres of water.
Scary when I'm just trying to find my feet.
But am looking foward to my next jab.

I'm trying to eat more wholefoods, and found a fab recipe for protein porridge. All stuff from the pantry, so cheap:
200g oat
25g chia seeds
25g flaxseed
20g quinoa
I added 20g walnuts

Nutracheck says 248 cals, cooked with water. And I added a splash of oat milk & mixed berries. Really nice, but I'd ditch the berries next time.

I know SheMed is a little more expensive. It’s £159 a month regardless of dosage but I can recommend them. They send a little care package with box of medication for any side effects you might have, constipation, indigestion, diarrhoea, sickness etc.

I'm on SheMed too.

I was out with work today. It was a catered lunch, lots of salad and fruit. But I want to do this because I want a healthy attitude to food. And that means sometimes eating a cheese sandwich on an away day. Eat less, but one reason why so many diets fail is the anxiety around going out for dinner, work etc.

Be kind to yourself and acknowledge that you will be tired, you don’t have control over your food and just do what you can.

Ah cool, where in Scotland are you? Maybe we're still just baltic compared to the rest of the UK 😂 my colleagues are having a bloody heatwave haha!

This is the one I have... So good! https://amzn.eu/d/1LjqAoR

Thanks for that recommendation, looks great! Hair drying was definitely cooler this morning- but don't know if it was just a cooler morning generally. It's not scorching here by any means.

I'm in Glasgow - South Side. Yourself?

T27 · 18/06/2025 15:53

@MissMogs - drink your water would be my main one. I’m only on D4 but got really bunged up even eating fruit and veg plus it’s really hot atm. Eat healthy and personally I’m just trying to take it day by day. Protein shakes are good if you can’t face food but do try and eat - wish you luck x

Gettingfitorbust · 18/06/2025 16:03

Thanks very much Sam187

Puffalicious · 18/06/2025 16:36

W1D2 no real appetite suppression yet. Had my same food & will have similar dinner. I suppose I didn't reach for the crisps in the staffroom, but I often side step those. I have a really healthy attitude to food, this bloody menopause is the root, I'm telling you!

Anyhoo, upwards and onwards.

Meal 1: Overnight oats with raspberries, chia seeds, pecans & Greek yogurt.

Meal 2: Salad with boiled eggs, 1/2 an avocado & 2 oat cakes.

Snacks: Babybel light & rhubarb yogurt.

Feeling a bit deflated, I'm week 3 day 6 and my GP sent me another 2.5 pen instead of the 5mg pen that I ordered I have decided to stay on it due to a holiday im going on mid July and worried about SE off the higher dose but honestly I lost 4lb in the first week then nothing and it seems I may have put 2 back on although it's TOM so that might have something to do with it but it's frustrating because I have completely changed my eating habits going from eating one meal a day plus snacking to eating either a protein yoghurt and fruit as a snack or protein granola with some natural yoghurt at lunch or some chicken and my meal at dinner some days I'm not even reaching my 1200 Calories a day , the only thing I'm not doing is drinking enough water daily , its so hard I wish I had taken pictures and some some measurements at week one !

Booklover2021 · 18/06/2025 20:18

Any advice? Been very pleased with my losses so far, back to the gym and eating well. This week I only lost half a pound (slimming world weigh in). My period is due, could this be the reason?

Gingercar · 18/06/2025 20:20

Yes it absolutely could. I once lost three stones and kept a graph - it always levelled off the week I had my period.

latetothepartyweightlossinjections · 18/06/2025 20:44

Hello I have been following everyone since the beginning of first thread - just today I had my first injection - took me a while to work up the courage. Arm feels a bit weak.. worried about side effects, but having to balance that with being 8 stone overweight. Hope it's ok to join. Good luck to us all.

Tinybirdie · 18/06/2025 21:10

Welcome all newcomers!

It's really sad to see people downhearted about losses. Remember, we are at the start of the journey and our losses will never be linear. We will bob up and down, plateau and sometimes celebrate losses. This is the long game. Don't be a slave to every scale reading. We are in this for the long haul as a team.

Thanks @Tinybirdie needed to hear this tonight!

PloopDeck · 18/06/2025 21:17

Just want to echo what others are saying… we will have little wins sometimes, and other times bigger, whether that’s weight loss or understanding more about our relationship with food. Let’s keep at it and and the days will turn into weeks, and soon we’ll have developed new eating habits. Here’s a revelation.. who knew brown rice was so tasty?? Genuinely enjoyed it with chicken for my dinner 😊

Puffalicious · 18/06/2025 21:22

I'm definitely fuller after dinner tonight, so perhaps the suppression is starting- W1D2.

Just been painting the bathroom, so good excerise.

DD517 · 18/06/2025 21:34

Has anyone changed providers for their second pen? If so, was it easy? Thanks!

You're welcome. Defo cooler today. No heatwave whatsoever.

I'm not far at all, used to be southside too, now I'm Greenock ☺️

CaptivePeanut · 18/06/2025 21:50

Hi all, I have began my mourjaro journey today would like to join. Was abit worried that your all already a few jabs in but was recommended this group and can see some newbies recently too.
I have between 10-11st to lose so it will be a long journey ahead 🙂

averythinline · 18/06/2025 21:52

W3 d3 ... Lost 5lbs but not massively calorie counting as am focusing on portion control and food management.. eg just eating whats on my plate and nothing else! And maybe not finishing whats on my plate....
My carb cravings are noticeably less.. this week has been harder though as 3 nights out on the trot! But hoping to re balance over the rest of the week...
Need to sort out activities/excerise as well in a way I can maintain... Have bad tendency to quit healthy stuff at the slightest excuse
Ordered 5mg for next step... Will probably just stick to plan and see what happens..
Main side effect so far is indigestion/heartburn after more than 2 glasses of wine!

Sam187 · 18/06/2025 21:59

Welcome to all the newbies. You're in good company here. Some of us are a few weeks in, some are long timers with loads of good hints and tips. The main thing is we're all a friendly bunch and will help/support as much as you need ❤️

Yes I changed from Zava to PillSorted. V easy indeed

NeedyTiger · 18/06/2025 22:22

Thanks ladies you're right of course was definitely feeling down but there are definitely positives already changing the way I eat changing my mindset around food and thinking about how to plan accordingly and ahead with shopping etc I guess I got overwhelmed this morning, but I'm preserving giving myself a stern taking to that this isn't a fast race and slow and steady is what I was aiming for all along ! ❣️

MtKiloMounjaro · 18/06/2025 22:26
