Congratulations from me too @BonjournoMonjourno.
How exciting!

@SusanSHelit I do aqua. Look HIDEOUS in a swimming costume (and in everything else I wear) but I bloody love it, and it can be a fantastic work out.

@TheMagnificentBean I'm with Lloyds too, and it came the day after my videos got approved

I love how people on here are at different stages. I'm drinking in the experiences of those ahead, and cheering on those who are following

@Puffalicious also true, although I was in Salzburg at the wknd and it was 32°, didn't feel cold there 😂

I mean, I am in Scotland so probs a little cooler than you all, but not quite blanket weather haha. Awww no, I've made you cold talking about it 🥶. Let's hope it passes you by.

PS I did have one night last wk I was so cold I ordered a hot water bottle from Amazon. Obscene 🤣

Also in Scotland, so snap! We're used to the cold 🥶 😄- in fact, Winter is my favourite season. Although 32 in Saltzberg does sound lovely.

Hair drying in menopause is hateful. I still insist on doing my make up first only to have it slide off my face with sweat as I blow dry my hair

I actually had to towel dry my face on Friday, then ran to the car & get the air-con blasting. Hell.

Puffalicious · 18/06/2025 00:15

Sam187 · 17/06/2025 22:09

One of the best things I've bought is the blow dryer brush. Much faster, less heat blowing at you, and minimal straightening required afterwards! I don't detest drying my hair so much any more!

Oooh which one? Sounds good.

Week 3 starts today and weighed this morning, I’ll jab before going to bed.

SW 109.9kg
CW 106.7kg
GW 73kg maybe (dare to dream!! 😂)

The email has come through asking me to request the next prescription, my suppression this week was great for 4 days and then moderate for 3. I’m tempted to stay on 2.5 for another month. What is everyone else thinking for July?

I reordered yesterday and decided to stay on 2.5mg as I’ve got various things like sports day and a 6 hour drive to wales/holiday for my second month and didn’t want to risk getting bad side effects. I’ve got a relatively clear month after that so will go up to 5mg then. I’m W3D7 and feeling a bit hungry this morning although managed to go to a wine tasting last night and then not eat anything when I got home so no drinking munchies which is an improvement! Not looking forwards to weigh in tomorrow as the scales have been static for nearly 10 days…

Shwingbada · 18/06/2025 06:28

W3D1 so jab 3 this morning. I've lost 4kg in total, mainly off my boobs... 😟
Would like to slow things down as so far my fat % on the scales hasn't changed (37.7) but the muscle has gone down. Not sure how accurate they are though. I need to plan ahead better so as to eat more protein and fibre.

FoxRedPuppy · 18/06/2025 06:43

@Shwingbada are you doing weight training? That would help with muscle loss.

I slept really badly and woke up early (i am not a morning person!). And was hungry. Then realised that last night I took a second dose of my morning medication, rather than night (I have one of those pill sorters). One of the meds I am on can disturb sleep if taken late at night. What a tool!

Will be difficult to sort the posssible day 2 side effects from MJ and those from double meds yesterday!

Shwingbada · 18/06/2025 07:10

Good point @FoxRedPuppy , I definitely need to start that.

How annoying about your meds - hopefully you can have a relatively gentle day.

SomethingFun · 18/06/2025 07:25

W1D7 for me. I don’t think I’ve had any issues - I’m snotty and sneezy and itchy but I think that’s from the megaton of pollen in the atmosphere. I’m surprised how much I’ve liked being on mj so far, it’s so nice not having my days revolve around food. I’ve also lost 4lbs which is amazing!

SW - 180
CW - 176
TW - 133

lyinginthebathpondering · 18/06/2025 07:28

Morning!

On W2 day 7 today so will be injecting third dose tonight.

Strugfled awfully with nausea, headaches, exhaustion and ZERO appetite in first week but this week has been so much better - only occasional nausea, no headache, less exhausted and enjoying food more (naturally choosing healthier choices and no cravings).

A good week for me and am hoping it continues into next week and beyond.

Have lost 8.5lb over the two weeks but I’ve been really careful to eat 1700 calories per day and max protein intake. I’ve had slight gallbladder issues in the past so am very keen to not lose too quickly (as well as protecting muscles).

Tinybirdie · 18/06/2025 07:52

Ive had rubbish sleep since the menopause. But, since starting Mounjaro it's even worse. Anyone else finding sleep an issue?

I'm only 2 weeks in but my sleep has been awful on injection night, pretty bad the next night then goes back to normal ish. I might try injecting in the afternoon next time to see if that helps but I'm hoping it calms down soon as I'm normally a good sleeper

TheMagnificentBean · 18/06/2025 08:12

My pen arrived so today is W1D1. I’m 96.6kg and my first big target is 70-75kg and I’ll see how I feel then. I haven’t been under 70kg since my teens I think (and maybe earlier).

I’m starting small-group PT sessions on Thursday too hopefully that’ll help me get a big stronger and prevent too much muscle loss (I don’t have much to lose…). At the moment I feel like a fat wet noodle.

Ah cool, where in Scotland are you? Maybe we're still just baltic compared to the rest of the UK 😂 my colleagues are having a bloody heatwave haha!

3 Rd injection today . No weight loss. No inch loss.
Post menopausal beeding . Going to see GP . On HRT . Thanks to this thread have seen that this can be a side effect.
Appreciate you all . Hope everyone doing better than me.
I eat right. Go to gym 3 times a week. Drink loads of water. Fed up

SomethingAboutYou · 18/06/2025 08:37

If it helps dear Scottish friends, the heatwave seems to have missed Wales too 😅 looking out at grey skies wondering if I can risk putting the washing out! (And yes I had a blanket over me last night watching tv 🤭)

NSV this morning, couldn't find a plain navy top but spotted an old one that's been a bit short & tight recently, decided sod it, it's going on as I'm working from home so just need something plain. It fits beautifully and I feel really good in it 🎉

Jab 3 for me tomorrow. I’m pretty certain I want to stay on 2.5mg too but going to order a 5mg pen so I can get 5 doses out, or increase dose if I need to? I’m still a bit woozy using the pen so know I won’t be able to do the insulin needle/golden dose thingy but hoping this way will work.

theaveragewife · 18/06/2025 08:52

Congratulations @BonjournoMonjourno

W4 D3 for me and I’ve recovered from the wine and fried chicken incident of Sunday, never to be repeated. Almost put off injecting until Monday but powered through (I’m also still wobbly with injecting so did it lying down before sleeping).

Down 13lbs in total so far. DH asked this morning - does it feel easy? In my case, definitely yes! I feel like I’m missing nothing, whereas without MJ I would ‘want’ things like fish and chips & wine for either a reward or to cheer me up. I do need to start weight training though, really conscious of becoming reliant on eating less rather than building new habits.

Borderslassie · 18/06/2025 08:55

Hi
I would like to join the thread too! My first jab of MJ arrives tomorrow.
I will take on Monday. How do you get the 5th golden dose?
I am thinking of going on the fast 800 to supplement my weight loss and hit my protein and nutrition goals. Going to try and aim for 1000 calories a day though. Has anyone else tried MJ with F800?

Hopefully, you’ll start responding on 5mg

W1 D3

I feel soooo full up, like I’ve eaten loads but I haven’t. We went out for lunch yesterday. I had a chicken salad and a couple of glasses of wine. I feel horrific this morning - like a giant hangover!

Urgh!

Sorry you feel rotten. I’m avoiding alcohol completely at least for now as I’ve read it exacerbates side effects and can make you feel awful. I haven’t fancied it at all actually which has helped.

Hope you feel better soon. Lots of people don’t feel any different until they move up to 5mg so fingers crossed for you.

SomethingAboutYou · 18/06/2025 10:00

@Oldlady62 sorry to hear that, must be very frustrating to lose nothing yet. If you're already going to the gym 3 times a week and eat well then it might need a bit of time, many people are seeing big losses in the first few weeks as they're going from no activity and a less-than-well diet so there's a dramatic difference and they inevitibly lose.

I've had breakthrough bleeding (I'm peri and on the progesterone only pill so don't usually have periods) and not had sickness or diarrhoea as a side effect so it definitely messes with the hormones a bit. Hope your gp is supportive and you get some answers x

Thanks. It's very frustrating. Been trying to lose weight for years. Maybe next week will see a difference
