Hi all

Does anyone have any tips to stop burping? They aren't sulfuric but do make me feel nauseous

Thanks :)

I read somewhere peppermint oil capsules were good for this

W3D1 I've ordered the next pen to make sure I have it. Moved from MedExpress to Medicine Market Place as ME seem to have a bad rep at the moment and I didnt realise there were cheaper suppliers in my initial eagerness to order.

Decided to stick on 2.5mg for another month. The suppression for me is not so strong I dont want to eat, but enough that I make better choices, and I can still actually enjoy food when I DO eat. I'd rather that than completely be put off food. Also I want to increase as slow as possible so I have 'somewhere to go' once the 2.5 isn't doing its thing.

Depending on how I feel, I might stick with the 2.5 for the second pen.

I've just completed one week.

SomethingAboutYou · 17/06/2025 07:59

Morning! This is a positive message for anyone in week 2 feeling like it's not working the same...I had this, wasn't sure if the effects were wearing off, stuck to it and kept going. I lost 1.5lbs in week 2 but today I'm w3d4 so had a little look at the scales and I've dropped a further kilo since Friday so hoping week 3 brings at least a 2lb loss, possibly more 🤞

For reference, I'm aiming for 1600 cals a day and ate lasagne last night (homemade) so the loss this morning isn't a result of a particularly light day of eating yesterday 😅

W2D4 Suppression definitely waning to the point I was hungry yesterday and looking for snacks. I eat and then get full up easily but hunger definitely returning.

Part of me thinks this is good, conquer that hunger beast! But part of me thinks then I'll never reach my hoped for 3 stone loss.

Overall I will move up to 5mg when the time comes but really would like to stay on that 5mg dose if possible.

@SomethingAboutYou
yeah week 2 doesn’t feel as effective as week 1 but we’re not supposed to starve ourselves. I think week 2 feels healthier - no desire to eat treats but ready for healthy food when hungry. Week 1 I was not into food 😂

I had a slightly different experience to yours, my week 1 was wanting food but no desire for snacks/unhealthy foods and week 2 that desire came back! I found fighting the desire easier than pre Mounjaro but I've definitely eaten a packet of crisps and a biscuit or two over the last week. Thankfully in moderation! I like this feeling of hunger and being able to have snacks but not crave them constantly. I've decided to stick with 2.5 for my next pen for that reason ☺️

Thank you this has helped, I was feeling a bit despondent today 🙏

Gingercar · 17/06/2025 08:19

I’ve just finished week 4 and didn’t have much suppression for the whole time. And thankfully no side effects either. But I think it’s good to have some hunger. I’ve eaten quite a lot and had snacks, but it’s been really healthy food. Tons of fruit and veg. I’m due to go up to 5mg tonight, but will do a midway golden dose tonight and see how I go on for the week. I’d like a tiny bit more suppression but would be gutted if I couldn’t eat. I’m enjoying the healthy choices. Personally I don’t calorie count. I just eat unprocessed food and no refined sugars.
Oh and I am 13lbs down after four weeks - so nearly a stone! (I was actually 0.8lbs away from losing the first stone!)

Re burps, I haven’t had any since I started, it’s the sugar that makes me burp - I used to get them a lot. Rennie worked well.

Gingercar · 17/06/2025 08:21

My losses were
-6
-3
-2
-2
so It did slow a fair bit after the initial big water loss.

Andrasa · 17/06/2025 08:26

Hello! New (re) starter here. Back again after after I stopped about fourteen months ago when I had issues with my gallbladder - assume it was due to incredible but way too fast weight loss when I was on ozempic. Put about half the weight back on in that time so decided to try mounjaro this time, but learnt a lot from the ozempic so will be deliberately trying to lose slower and eat way more protein.

feeling very sore after my first dose, like my back is bruised! Google tells me it’s a fairly common immune reaction, similar to feeling a bit off after the Covid jab, but interesting I never had similar with ozempic.

baggybags · 17/06/2025 08:27

@Andrasa did you have your gallbladder removed?

Andrasa · 17/06/2025 08:28

baggybags · 17/06/2025 08:27

@Andrasa did you have your gallbladder removed?

Yep, round this time last year. Was fairly painless and have no issues now other than occasionally meals upsetting my stomach a little bit.

baggybags · 17/06/2025 08:31

Thanks

FineandDandie · 17/06/2025 09:02

End of week one and I'm shocked and delighted to be down 5lbs! This stuff is witchcraft! Onward!

Can I join you?

W1d4 here.
Heaviest weight - 98kg. Lost 6 kg with lifestyle changes then stalled (ok, lost 8kg, put 2 back on…). GP hit me with a raised cholesterol warning as well as the weight stuff, so that was my motivation.

SW 92kg
CW 90kg.
TW 65kg.

definitely feeling the appetite suppression but not finding it hard to eat. Am learning though that fatty foods bring on the most evil burps and loose stools. Not during the day so much but up several times in the night. Children highly entertained by the burping flatulent windy balloon their mother has become.

hoping the windiness subsides - I’m quite reliant on public transport and I’m definitely antisocial right now!

Im with Voy and they keep cancelling the intro chat with 15 minutes to spare then emailing me telling me I need one. Which is a little frustrating! But I am loving their food logging system. Although either their AI is assuming my portions are larger than they are, or else I am assuming my portions are smaller than they are, since their calorie breakdown is significantly higher than my own. Suspecting they are accurate and that’s why I weigh what I do.

Is anyone else turning into a giant windbag, and if so, have you found foods which trigger it less?

T27 · 17/06/2025 09:14

I’m on my 3rd day after jab and tbh at a loss to know what to eat! Feel really bloated - drinking loads of water - aiming at 1500 calories a day but it is hard to reach that when you’re just not hungry. Any advice as I know it’s important to keep your calories up. TIA x

I never managed my intro chat with Voy. The app didn’t work for the first four days and then when it was finally working they cancelled my appointment for the intro chat. I grumbled to customer services and said how frustrating it was and they knocked £40 off my next pen. I had the coach chat, which was good. Their AI coach is so useful too.

Seriestwo · 17/06/2025 09:25

I’m on day 8 after jab 1 and down 2.5lb. suspect I have 3lb of poo in me though...

I AM disappointed, which is silly. I’m using chat gpt to chart my calories and protein which is working well because it’s easy, but not that accurate.

notagainyoufool · 17/06/2025 09:38

I’ve just taken my 4th injection. Last week was an absolute write off. I’ve not wanted to weigh myself. I haven’t craved anything sweet, but just wanted to eat a lot more. I’ve stuck to high protein mostly. I think it could be due to where I am in my cycle. I also drank slightly more wine.
I’m putting last week down as a little blip. I think I’ve going to order some sterile syringes to get the 5th dose out of the pen for next week and then I’ll go up to my 5mg pen.

MsRinky · 17/06/2025 09:51

I am a bit of a fibre evangelist, and I don't think many people realise how little they eat - you can hit your five a day and still barely touch the sides. I see people mentioning prunes, but even six prunes is only 3.1g of fibre - we're meant to be aiming for 30g a day...

That's brilliant. Well done.

Crinklecat · 17/06/2025 09:58

Very jealous of you all not wanting to eat. Day 2 and I’m thinking about food as much as normal

Sisterlove · 17/06/2025 10:01

Just completed week 1 and have lost 6 pounds. I actually started a stricter calorie reduction the week before and lost 5 pounds before starting with MJ.

I'm feeling pleased. Hunger is at bay. I was in the supermarket yesterday though and got a Cadbury freddo bar 😔. I was trying to get additional steps instead of online shopping which I usually do... but I don't think it was a good idea if the chocolate outweighs the step benefit.

Anyway, I'm overall pleased with myself.

Sisterlove · 17/06/2025 10:05

I saw this quote just now after my first update and think it's perfect to us on this journey.
