W3d3 today and the scales don't seem to be budging nearly as fast as they did initially. I seem to be stuck at 95kg. Despite walking around five miles per shift in my job and tracking calories pretty religiously. I'm hoping I will get a big ish drop again soon.

They are going down, but the drastic loss of week one looks to be an anomaly now

The first week usually always has a bigger loss. Don't be disheartened.

healthjourney · 16/06/2025 08:56

Morning June jabbers! I woke up feeling awful with a nasty migraine 😕 I have been losing water/weight very quickly the last couple of days which must have left me dehydrated. Took my meds and some electrolytes and feeling a lot bettter but In future I'll be taking electrolytes every other day to try to prevent this.

Suppression is strong after my second jab Saturday night and food noise is silent. Struggling too hit my protein and calorie goals but I am doing my best and it will likely get easier over the next day or two, that's what happened last week at least 🤞

For hydration generally (but not specific to Mounjaro), I’ve seen a few sources recommending to drink 22ml of water per kilo of body weight. I think I will aim for 3l a day to try to avoid constipation.
I just can't believe this is correct.
If you're proper big, which many of us are, you're potentially drinking 4 or 5l a day under this.
I can't think that would be healthy

I'd say 3 litres of water is an extremely good amount and I agree that one doesn't need to be drinking 4 or 5 litres. I'd be sick of I tried to drink more than 3 litres. I was in the Cambridge diet before and was able to drink 3 litres..sometimes a bit more.

Otherwise, 2 litres is very good for most people to drink per day.

Morning June Jabbers, will be doing my second jab today!

Bit nervous as I had a meal out yesterday which was steak and it went straight through me 💩 Literally so embarrassing in the restaurant having to run to the loo! Haven't told anyone except my husband and we were with extended family so they probably think i'm weird keep running off to the loo😂

How's everyone else doing on week 2?

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 16/06/2025 09:26

W2D4. Been struggling to ‘go’ properly. Started to panic. I’m having loads of fibre. Loads. Had 6 prunes yesterday and has helped but not enough. Will continue prune plan and pray 😂

dietstartstmoz · 16/06/2025 09:26

I have a holiday question.
I have just taken week 3 jab so will need to order my next month's pen soon. I'm having good suppression and loss so far. I don't know if to stay on 2.5 or increase. My dilemma is I will have one more month on the next pen, then go to the USA for a holiday and will need to start a new pen a few days after travelling. we are staying overnight in a hotel the evening before we travel so I can't guarantee I can keep a new unused pen chilled for that length of time before the first use, so wondering whether to leave it in the fridge at home. When I come back it will be 12 days since I last jabbed so I am just in the window to stay on whatever dose, and not have to go onto 2.5mg, if I had increased. I can't decide if to stay on 2.5, or attempt 3.75 but can't work out how many clicks that would be.
Is anyone else in a similar situation and has decided what to do yet?

Midlifecrisis23 · 16/06/2025 09:47

I did it! I did my first injection and it’s didn’t hurt at all so now I’m concerned I did wrong 😂😂

I am 0.5L of water down already as it’s warm and brought the soft 75 book to keep me focused. I can and I will do this!

Question - how quickly did people get appetite reduction?

Puffalicious · 16/06/2025 09:47

Thanks for all your recommendations. I'll get on to it & order.

magnoliaday · 16/06/2025 10:11

Really hoping when I move to 5mg next week I see the scales moving more.

MummySharkDoodoododoo · 16/06/2025 10:13

Hello, I hope it's ok to join you! I'm on my third week, so did start just before June but not long. I've not lost anything so far which is frustrating, despite having all the side effects of the jab! Was really really sick with D&V for the first few days after the first jab. Like uncontrollable at both ends - sorry for TMI!
Since then no actual sickness but just feel really bloated, tired and miserable most of the time 😫
I'm eating much less but not loosing which is disheartening.

I will go up to 5mg once I've finished my first 2.5
Mg pen but do worry about the side effects if they are as bad as when I had my first 2.5!

I've been drinking as much as possible and adding electrolytes to one drink per day. But don't feel like anything is helping. I constantly feel like over over eaten, which I guess is part of the point. I wouldn't mind it all if the weight was going down even slowly, it's just not done anything so far. But going to try and keep going.

I'm going to start with meal replacement shakes for lunchtime as this seems to be the meal I struggle with. I only get a 15 mins lunch break, and not great at prepping in advance so end up just snacking. So going to do a shake and that's that meal done. Eating 2 Weetabix for breakfast and then a normal family meal in the evening. Not much else, other than fruit and maybe a yogurt.

Id hoped to feel more energetic after cutting out the crap food. Hoping it will come in time. ,

Cocopuff · 16/06/2025 10:21

Wow June Jabbers are a chatty lot. Did 3rd injection on Friday - loving the lack of food noise and trying to ensure I meal prep and choose healthy protein stacked food to eat (e.g. chia pudding with berries for breakfast) for meals while not hearing the little voice in my head saying to eat all the sugar. Am hoping that by doing this I'll have got use to sustainable habits (and food prepping) by the time I come off Mountjaro.

MsRinky · 16/06/2025 10:43

I thought I'd managed OK over the weekend - we were doing a 600-mile round trip to see my parents and in-laws, so a lot of driving, other people's food and schedules etc. Ate moderately, skipped the cake and ice creams had by everyone else, had three glasses of wine on Saturday night. Well, my stomach has been shall we say explosive this morning. Am sipping electrolytes and peppermint tea and hoping it passes soon.

Crinklecat · 16/06/2025 12:05

w1d1 - took my first jab last night, still feel hungry and have eaten as normal. Hoping the suppression comes soon

Hi all,

I know it's a Sunday & Father's Day & folk are busy. I'd just like to get recommendations of where to go to get started? Which provider?

Thanks

I went with boots. It's more expensive but i just wanted to use a reputable company i trust and also comes with an online Dr that you can message at any point with questions and they check in on you too.

WorkingStudentMum · 16/06/2025 13:14

First jab done today! I’m doing this through Voy and have to say am impressed with their support so far. Didn’t even feel the needle - however I did 5 years of IVF before having my daughter, so all that needle practice has finally come in useful! The needle is nothing compared to some of the beasts I had to handle then! Feeling quite apprehensive but hopeful and have a session with my Voy coach later. My main problem is time - as a mum to a nearly four year old, no family support, full time worker and part time student every hour is packed between 5.30am and 10pm every day, leaving no time for meal prep or exercise. Hopefully my coach can help me, but anyone else in the same boat?

Magnesium is also really good for helping to keep things regular!

Mumofboys2006 · 16/06/2025 13:44

Hi, just wanted to ask. Is anyone here taking supplements alongside the mounjaro. I’ve always taken Vit D and C, collagen and magnesium (occasionally) but wondering if anyone else takes anything else like Vit B complex. I’m so exhausted I’m wondering whether that might help.

It's so different for everyone. For me personally I felt like nothing mega happened at first. BUT whether it be my own influence or the jab but today (W1 D5) i realised that I haven't reached or been interested in my usual crisps or bits of food i usually snack on. I have felt hunger for sure, but it's almost like i'm just not fancying anything in-particular. Does that make sense?

I take WellWoman+ and Bare Biology collagen.

I felt similar & have gone with the pharmacy my sister uses. It's an in person appointment tomorrow. They've already responded that i qualify as BMI is 30.4, so have just made their cut off. I hope it goes well 🙏.

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 16/06/2025 14:42

For everyone thinking they have put weight on or low losses please try taking measurements or putting on clothes that didn't fit you, you may be surprised. Don't feel downheartened. It didn't go on overnight, so it won't come off that quickly either. A couple of pounds is more sustainable and it does make a difference to your health. Please stick with it. 🥰 Also for people struggling with water intake; you don't have to drink litres and litres of water, you can include any fluid in that, like tea. From research drinking litres and litres can upset your electrolyte balance especially if you are exercising. I'm not a medical professional I just research things. I'm also not saying don't drink, as obviously you need to and this drug can dehydrate you, just don't be stressing thinking you aren't doing it 'right'. Sending lots of support to you all 🥰 (this is in no way meant to be condescending or 'telling' people. It is hard to get the tone right in a post, especially when you don't know the person). xx

very very pleased (I always seem to lose big on first week of healthy eating then it plateaus, aiming for slow and steady in long run.) had a bad eating day yesterday as I was at a summer fayre, had an ice cream and a cookie, most sugar had in ages so my body didn’t react well to that 💩💩😂. Back on it today. Starting to think about exercise, especially strength work but not sure where to start!

Hope both your appointments go well.

i was the same and have gone with a local private gp practice who run a weight management clinic. All face to face and regular blood test so yes I’m paying more but wanted the reassurance. Might switch to a cheaper provider in the long term but happy at mo whilst I settle into things

Edited

I’m just coming to the end of week 4 with Voy. They’ve been really good. Joy, the AI coach is amazing- I’ve had recipes, meal plans, picnic ideas and exercise suggestions off her. It’s like talking to a real person, but the replies are quicker. My human coach said use it as much as you can and it builds a profile of you. I also love the protein log with the plate analysis, although it seems to have disappeared this week! I had a few technical issues with the app in week 1 so they discounted my second month by 20%, but I don’t think I can stay with Voy after that. It’s so expensive as the pen volumes go up. Hopefully I’ll be in the swing of things by then.

Itsjunedeer · 16/06/2025 15:55

I’m W1D3. No side effects apart from the vaguely spaced out feeling that comes and goes. Food choices have been good and no snacking on either evening so far. Had a small amount of dessert and half a vodka and coke yesterday but didn’t really need or want the alcohol so won’t bother again for a while. I’m not sure food noise has reduced significantly. As with other times I have been trying to lose weight I find I have to give it my full attention and that is a bit mentally draining. Maybe I will feel greater impact/reduction with further doses.
Reading everyone’s posts is proving a great source of information so thank you 😊
