It's too hot to type. And I've stayed indoors with the windows closed all day as my worst nightmare was outside. In swarms. Coccinellidaephobia 🤢

Edited

I killed the thread

@Blondeshavemorefuni was thinking of you this morning, you take naproxen and I was thinking about someone I know who ended up anaemic as she wasn’t taking a stomach protector with it. I’m sure you are taking something, but just wanted to mention it on the minuscule chance you aren’t.

All good here. Just quiet as some of those that are still actively losing are more quiet. Only so many times you can say, maintained, everything all good here, happy in my new body without being worried that you’re rubbing it in on those that are still losing that are being quieter. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I worry that I don’t want to harp on!! I just don’t want to annoy anyone still on the grind!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/07/2025 23:45

I get what you are saying @owlyboo

but for anyone on this auggies 🥰 please do post if still trying to lose weight so that we can support you

agree my weekly replies on WWJ are the same as maintaining

but this is for all who are trying to lose weight or maintaining or anything else 😂

OP posts:
owlyboo · 13/07/2025 23:51

Completely agree @Blondeshavemorefunbut because I’ve been maintaining for a good few months if I’m not replying to others I’m just saying the same thing!

I really want to stay and support everyone so agree to keep
posting and I’ll keep replying! Anyone that needs support both losing and maintaining!

This is a thread for all August MJers @owlyboo. Wherever we are in the journey. Keep posting! I've been far less active on it recently but still use it as I need to and love all the success stories.

poppym12 · 14/07/2025 08:22

You look great @FurForksSake, very slim - and cool for this weather.

NippyNinjaCrab · 14/07/2025 08:23

I didn't post my weigh in on Friday, back at the 11st goal so now maintaining.

I have a slight dilemma. Ideally I would like to lose another wee half stone BUT my DH says he thought i was too thin and looked like the gable end of a pound note 🤣 I do agree with my flat arse I wasn't looking as I would prefer to look. However, I don't feel right, I feel squidgy and I want more off. We went for lunch yesterday and I put a dress on I wore on holiday and across my boobs and hip area it felt snugish. I don't want to feel like that, nor do I want to look thin to him. I want to be attractive but not just to him, I want to look in the mirror and find myself attractive. Please help with your words of wisdom. We've always been truthful with each other, he is now on MJ and lost 2lbs last week on his first weigh in.

FurForksSake · 14/07/2025 09:27

Build your glutes? I don’t know your fitness journey, but you could maybe do lots of work to build up muscle to give yourself definition?

and also, please yourself. In May my step-mum told me if I lost any more weight I’d look gaunt. I’ve lost going on for a stone since then and want to lost another 7lbs. I don’t feel I look gaunt. People like the status quo and don’t love change often.

in sure there is a middle ground.

Azuresky68 · 14/07/2025 09:48

@NippyNinjaCrab do what you do for you when it comes to weight loss. I don't think anyone has the right to comment on someone's weight. I have been all weights and sizes and I never had any negative comments but I get loads of positive comments now. What BMI/weight are you now and what would you be happy with?

It's great to hear of success and hopefully it helps people still on their journey to goal. Personally I am a bit scared of regaining so this thread is a lifeline for me. Never had this kind of support before.

Azuresky68 · 14/07/2025 10:20

Regarding my post and @Weepixie's post about celebration's I once read a book that listed all the celebration's you could have in a year...it didn't leave many days where you could be on a 'diet' That was interesting but didn't help me. I still really strongly associate celebration's with food and alcohol.
The surprise party for my other half was an amazing success..he was actually emotional and very happy. I was so busy sorting food and being hostess that I ate nothing and drank water. Only had a banana for breakfast. Finally had two small slices of pizza and piece of birthday cake plus lager shandy then made sensible cheese omelette for evening meal..this added up to around 1800 calories over the day. Didn't even enjoy the party food really but had a wonderful day feeling loved and part of OH's family..he rarely sees them as they all have busy lives with children and don't live nearby. His sister and partner came too and they live miles away. It's been 5 years now and I have waited this long to do anything to host a family event..they don't really do them anyway. Will definitely do it again in the future.

Oh and for for those who know what I am talking about I mentioned the L word on holiday and it was all good!

His son's fiance who knows my OH really well as she and OH's son lived at OH's house for a while said that none of the men in the family overtly show their feelings they just 'do stuff' This was nice to hear as I always thought the way he was reflected on me and he wasnt bothered but clearly not!

Azuresky68 · 14/07/2025 10:23

Rearding.maintenance I am still on 10 mg but last week I opened a new pen and accidently used a 7.5 one. Got to say that suppression is still good so that gives me hope

pharmer · 14/07/2025 10:41

Is there anyone here who still has significant weight to shift. I have lost 5 stone but still have 4 to lose to get to a healthy weight. I am on 12.5 and a switching up to 15 next month. I am losing so slowly now, it is really frustrating, although I would say 'inch loss' has been better without consciously exercising more. I find moving easier and I think I must be doing more!

FurForksSake · 14/07/2025 10:43

I’m so scared of regaining, really it’s my biggest worry. I’m so glad oushk hopefully will have my back for the long term with continuing medication.

I think Christmas is a good example of times when every day can be a celebration. Really it’s one meal technically, but maybe a few other Christmas parties and things. Yet many years we are eating treats from 1st December until well into new year! I’m not doing that any more. I’ll get a few nice treats in, but focus more on higher quality nice meats and exotic fruits and things.

Hi there Nippy, I’m not sure if you have any physical health problems by my immediate thought is that you could lose your half stone and work out properly in order to build up your muscle.

I don’t believe it’s something a person can do with Zumba or the likes but a couple of sessions with a PT who’d work out a 4 or 6 week schedule for you to do at the gym once you understood technique would be good. And then once you’d done your 6 weeks or so you could see them again for the next lot of sessions.

And if you have a physical health problem they can usually create a workout that works around the problem, so for eg Ive not been able to walk for almost 3 weeks with a foot injury but I’ve still been doing my PT because my coach decided a work out for me that was done sitting down. It was very effective and I loved it - I also still burned more than 350 calories like I normally do. They’ll also incorporate exercise that can help with your ailments - before I had my new knee my coach had me working on my quads to strengthen them for eg. It really helped and I was back in the gym about a week after my surgery to start rehabilitation. My point is that any good PT could tailor make a workout to take into place any physical limitations a person may have.

I know you walk miles with your dogs and it is a great exercise but we need more than walking to replace any muscle we may have lost along the way whilst losing weight. And I think quite often if someone says a person looks too thin they’re actually saying there needs to be a wee bit more of the person build wise, which is different to weight.

Im loving the gable end of a pound note - I’ve never heard that before.

lookathatbookcase · 14/07/2025 11:47

@pharmer I have around another 2.5 stone to go, having taken a break for the first bit of this year.

@NippyNinjaCrab I was going to ask: how you are doing for exercise atm, particularly strength-training? Was wondering if some of what you mention about flat bum and squidginess could be addressed through toning, weight-training etc?

@Blondeshavemorefun is right, I still have about 4 stone to lose! I use this thread as well as a 10 stone one for support. Have lost 6 stone so far. It's a blooming London journey!

Weepixie · 14/07/2025 11:53

@Azuresky68

I just saw your post and I’m glad you had such a wonderful party day.

And as for the L word. I’ve thought about it over the last wee while and I’m so pleased for you that it’s all good ❤️

FurForksSake · 14/07/2025 12:13

Lost a 1lb! The heat and not fancying food and the mj meant I haven’t eaten hugely over the weekend.

I can’t wait for my hip to be fixed so I can get back to exercise. I’ll definitely be working on body decomposition and going for muscle building. Having a decent level of body fat means I will be able to see any muscles I grow, for the first time ever.

I’ve got a decision to make, I’ve slimmed out of my size 12s. Do I hold on to them or sell? I was happy to get rid of the 16s as I really have non intention of getting back there. But with the 12s, if I come off Mj at some point and regain I’d be happy at a 12. But then I don’t want that to be my target.

my target weight is going to be somewhere between 8 and 8st7 with a ceiling of 9st.

oh and i still have a tummy overhang. I did have a c-section and have been overweight all my life, but I was so hopeful losing weight it would be almost gone. I’m guessing only surgery would sort it now.
