I've been away in Italy and having a social media break (mostly!). I have just weighed this morning after getting back yesterday and I've lost 3/4 of a lb. I can't believe it, never, ever, lost weight on holiday before.

I had pizza and pastry but several massive salads too. I found I could eat half a portion or less.
We walked miles too and I feel so much better for it. As well as sorting out my formal exercise I am going to try to be more active generally. I work at home and it's easy not to leave the house.
I have a real post holiday buzz!
I've got today off work so starting my day with a decent coffee and a book. Got a good few weeks coming up socially so feel really positive.
I have a few different dresses ( bought for the holiday) that fit me so I am going to be giving them an airing over the next few weeks.
@SteveHarringtonsHair isn't it strange when we come to think of maintenance, oin January I could not have dreamt that I would be where I am now, its a miracle😀
I have been thinking along the same lines as you, although I have more still to lose. I need to re establish a set point I am happy with and use mounjaro to keep me there while my body figures out this is the new normal ( I think 🤣)

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 07/07/2025 07:58

morning @SteveHarringtonsHair - sorry to hear about the side effects, but what an amazing weight loss!

Same here, I'm the slimmest I've been in my adult life and I would not have managed it with MJ. And not just slimmest, fittest - DH has changed my name in his phone to Lara Croft. 😂

@tinyemmy glad to hear maintenance is going well.

Thelittlestranger · 07/07/2025 08:20

@myladyjane I had a couple of MJ voms when I over calculated what I could eat as drink during work trip. It's not nice - but there was relief afterwards! Hope you re feeling better now.

@SteveHarringtonsHair nearly there. What level did you get up to?

I have my Oushk maintenance call this morning - will report back.

DGonMJ · 07/07/2025 08:20

Sorry to hear about the side effects @myladyjane hope you get the balance right soon.

Well done on the progress @SteveHarringtonsHair @BreezyPeer and @tinyemmy

I managed to weigh-in yesterday morning but didn’t jab till just before bed - first time I’ve left it so late. Jab #27, kept it at 4mg as I’m 60.5kg so back to the WI from 2 weeks ago. Seem to be maintaining well on this dose but I’m thinking I might reduce to 3.75mg next week anyway and try doing that for a month.

Jins · 07/07/2025 08:50

Sorry you’ve had side effects @myladyjane. I’ve been plagued with them since I went up to 7.5mg.

I seem to be maintaining very well, fluctuating a pound each way. The only problem is that I’m half a stone above where I’d like to be. I’m actually not too bothered at this stage as I feel ok at this weight and don’t look too horrendous so if my body wants to stay here then I can deal with that.

What I’m struggling to deal with are weird sugar cravings. Yesterday was tinned peaches, the day before was mango sorbet. Not great for someone on a restricted fruit regime. I’m giving in to them to some extent as I’m a firm believer that your body tells you what it needs. It’s not food noise as such, it’s very specific cravings for items that we don’t generally buy and it’s mostly for fruity things rather than chocolate or sweets.

MJalltheway · 07/07/2025 09:11

Hope you are feeling better today @myladyjane.
it's so reassuring to hear from the folk who are already at maintenance that things seem to be going well so far, well done @Jins , @tinyemmy , @HeidiNotSoHeavy and @DGonMJ

im still feeling pretty rough, but slightly better than yesterday. Most annoyed that I've had to cancel classes for the next couple of days, never thought I'd miss it so much. Weighed today and have hit the 20kg lost milestone! Next one is to get to a healthy BMI, should take a couple of weeks.

my plan for this week had been to get out ALL of my clothes and go through/try on everything and get rid of the too-big stuff so I can see what I have left and decide what to buy

Jins · 07/07/2025 09:33

I’m not officially maintaining. I’m just losing and gaining the same pound or so. However I’ve had a rough time with side effects and I’m reframing a plateau as maintaining at a weight slightly above goal.

If and when I get back on track with my dose level I’ll try to shift the last few pounds but the important thing is that I feel ok at the weight I’m currently at. Yes there’s flab here and there and my stomach isn’t going to be flat but I’m at peace with that for the first time in my life. At 61 I don’t think I need to strive for the perfect shape, I just need to have the healthiest body I can achieve. And if I’m honest I look ok in my new top 😀

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 07/07/2025 09:38

@MJalltheway - sorry that you’re feeling so rotten. Having to lose some of your holiday is awful - we look forward to them so much.

@myladyjane - sorry to hear you’re feeling rough too. But I was intrigued to see what you said about the link to eating too much. Is that generally a thing, everyone? That you can eat to a greater capacity but it makes you feel ill afterwards? And that translates to vomiting? And diarrhoea?

I’ve had reasonably frequent upset stomach bouts. I wonder if that’s why. I don’t get much suppression. I do have very small portions but could easily eat a lot more. Unless I can’t because of the consequences?!

I had the worst upset stomach last night - cold sweats, the lot. I did eat quite a bit more than I usually do yesterday, but I think it’s because I ate a tiny bit of insufficiently cooked cold chicken from Saturday’s bbq. I have a delicate stomach at the best of times.

Hope everyone has a good start to the new week.

Polkadotdash · 07/07/2025 09:39

Morning all. Day 5 post op for me. I was curious to see how much weight I would have lost removing my football sized uterus. Climbed on Rubeboy scales to find out …. ONE pound. One flaming pound lost. Not even sure how such a small reduction is possible. I lost an entire organ!!!! And I didn’t eat anything for 36 hours.
The body is truly a weird thing.
I’m still on my MJ break for another week until I feel well enough to start again. Currently feeling sick all the time with pain meds and only wanting to eat the blandest foods so I don’t want to add anything extra in to the mix.

MJalltheway · 07/07/2025 09:42

You have the rudest scales @Polkadotdash ! There must be a whoosh in your future, maybe after you've finished on pain meds, they can be notorious for constipation etc.

meatyryvita · 07/07/2025 10:36

Those aren't just rude scales @Polkadotdash - they're downright offensive! I imagine you still have some bloat/water retention, so hopefully your scales will see the error of their ways and become more polite in the short term.

Thelittlestranger · 07/07/2025 10:56

Had my maintenance call with Oushk. Have to agree with others who say Hira is beautiful - and very kind.

I'm going on the Taper plan as my ambition is to titrate down and come off eventually. I can change my mind at anytime, and they still offer being able to come off and pay £15 per month to get access to the jabs if I ever need it again - with no questions about my BMI. Received my discount codes and ordered my 5mg pen. I finish my 7.5mg pen next week, have two weeks on holiday and then will start on the lower dose.

Pleased to be starting this next stage of my journey.

@Polkadotdash not quite the same, but I had 2.5kg of skin removed from my stomach for my tummy tuck. My scales did not recognise this at all at the time. Weird.

myladyjane · 07/07/2025 11:04

@Polkadotdash I am happy to give those scales a piece of my mind. Unacceptable.

@0ncemorewithfee1ing yesterday definitely felt like I was too full and that’s what made me sick. In my pre MJ days I did used to find I’d have a stomach upset after big meals occasionally which is apparently a ‘thing’ where you are over full so logically perhaps that does make sense as a correlation?

@jinsI still get quite a lot of wind based symptoms and don’t seem to be settling much. 24/36 hours after my jab are the worst for me but they do continue a bit. I’d hoped by this stage they’d pass (so to speak) but certainly puts me off moving up a dose. Not that I need to yet but i don’t think I could.

Jins · 07/07/2025 11:20

@myladyjane that sounds very similar to my symptoms. Lots of wind, I’ve never been a burper but I am now! Sulphur burps and the runs at 36/48 hours which reduce up to jab day then the circus starts again.

It started on my second 7.5mg jab and sadly it’s the same now I’ve dropped back to 6.25mg which I tolerated perfectly before. I’m trying half doses every 5 days at the moment so I did 30 clicks yesterday and I’ll do 25 or 30 on Friday depending on how it’s going. So far so good as no windiness after 24 hours and normally I’d be burping a bit. Shotsy tells me my level is 6.24 today and starts to decrease tomorrow.

It’s a complete pain but I’m determined to find a dose that suits as I feel so good when it’s working without side effects.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 07/07/2025 11:21

@Polkadotdash another severe remonstration for your scales from me. Hope you feel better soon too.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 07/07/2025 11:42

I'm having some stomach issues this morning, bit of ache that is sort of travelling around, wind I guess. And indeed ate more than usual yesterday - not massive amounts though, and nothing unhealthy except for a bit of yoghurt ice cream. Sitting here with my mint tea hoping it helps - we're leaving for holidays first thing tomorrow morning, not really an ideal time.

tinyemmy · 07/07/2025 13:13

Congratulations @SteveHarringtonsHair goal weight in sight. I have found losing almost addictive and have moved my goal a few times from "just healthy" to a weight I was a few years ago to a weight I was a few years prior to that to them a goal that I hadn't been since my 20s to now tempted to hit a weight I was last in my early 20s (a pound away). My hubby has said to not lose any more so I need to stop now!

@BreezyPeer isn't it amazing to feel like you've eaten what you want but actually lose weight!

Congratulations on the weight loss @MJalltheway

And great maintaining @DGonMJ and @Jins even if unintentional!

Sorry to hear some of you aren't well. I hope it passes soon.

asparagusfearne · 08/07/2025 08:09

@Polkadotdash glad all went well and surely the scales will catch up once your body has had a chance to relax and work through the meds.

NSV for me - was away with friends at the weekend, there were lots of pictures, and I look...nice? Or I look how I feel, and how I've always hoped I looked despite not being this weight for ten years.
Although I could work on my muscle/fat percentages as I'm sure my measurements are a few inches bigger than they were at this weight last time around.

PLUS I've got away without wearing undershorts with dresses/skirts for the last week. That will probably not be the case this weekend when it's hot again but I'll take it for now!

Happy Tuesday losers 😄

Zempy · 08/07/2025 08:35

Yeah I am wearing size ten skirts but still getting dreadful chub rub. My legs are slim but there’s pockets of fat on the inside right at the top. Always been this way.

I have had another big loss following time away, eating crap. Lost four pounds this week! It’s like going back to the 2.5mg early days!!

SW: 13:7
CW: 9:9
GW: 9:4

I might decide to go a bit lower when I get there, but the turkey neck is bothering me, and my upper arms are very crepey. Stomach looks absolutely fine though! I’m loving my collarbones and those little dents inside my knees! 😍

Jins · 08/07/2025 09:40

Great losses and NSVs here!

Today would normally be side effect day and they aren’t showing up! No windiness, no sulphur burps, no diarrhoea - I feel great!

Slight gain today which irritated me until I realised that I’ve now fluctuated between 9.2 and 9.4 for over a month which is pretty good. My wrinkly bingo wings seem to be improving a bit. So bearing in mind that period covers an AI holiday and a plague of side effects I’m not unhappy. Main priority is to get settled on the medication again. I’m a flabby BMI 23 so I’m happy to sit it out and I’ve just ordered another 7.5mg to carry on with my half dose regime. I’ll probably end up with a stockpile at some point but I’m sure it will work out.

MIL moves into a nursing bed today. DH and I have talked a lot these last few days and I’ve said I’m ok with cancelling bookings we’ve made in case he needs to be with her but he’s emphatic that all plans will go ahead whatever happens. The DSs last saw her in the new year and aren’t planning on another visit so that’s that I guess. Looks like it’s just me that’s going to have to process my feelings.

LillethCrane · 08/07/2025 12:37

I haven’t posted in a while or caught up with recent posts I’m afraid, but wishing good thoughts to everyone!

I think I’ve just been getting on with things without focusing on being on MJ too much- it’s just what I do now if that makes sense. In the early days I obsessed over every side effect or worried about every calorie. Now, although I’m still tracking my calories, I’m a lot more trusting of the process and trying not to obsess over the scales.

I’ve now lost 4 stones so my original target is a stone away, but I’ve realised I’ll need to aim for two more. I hope I’ll achieve it by the end of the year, fingers crossed.

meatyryvita · 08/07/2025 15:59

A busy few days for me too. In the office today and I've had about 5 people come up and ask me if I've lost weight - when I confirm that I have, I'm getting the 'you're looking really well' comments, which is lovely. I don't have access to a full length mirror at home (there's one in my daughters' bedroom but I don't go in there) and so it was a shock to see myself in the mirror in our lift today and see that my clothes weren't tight, I wasn't dressing strategically to hide my sins, I actually just looked....well... nice! It's a funny feeling!

Have a great day losers!

Thelittlestranger · 08/07/2025 18:29

I threw on a pair of trousers and a vest today. Felt comfortable all day. Didn't take loads of effort - super easy.

The skin on my arms is definitely getting tighter - so pleased about that too.

Polkadotdash · 08/07/2025 19:29

Thanks all for agreeing that my scales are behaving completely unacceptably. I’ve told them that a representative from our thread will contact them soon to discuss an improvement plan.
It’s interesting that @Thelittlestranger, you had a similar experience with the tummy tuck weight not being reflected in your overall mass. The human body is so odd.

As I’m working through my recovery I’m realising that so much of our health and wellbeing comes from our digestive system. Mine has been hit so hard with the surgery, the IBS type spasms are sooooo painful. More than the 6 inch scar across my tummy. No wonder we all get thrown off kilter when MJ causes digestive upset.

BreezyPeer · 09/07/2025 07:46

Weigh day and jab day today.
SW 15st 12
CW 12st 5
1st GW 14st 6lb MET!! 🎉
2nd GW 13st 3lb MET!! 🥳 🎉
Final GW 12st 0
Total loss so far 3st 7lb !
I adjusted my jab day to accommodate a holiday so I am now moving it back slowly.
I've been doing this 6 months now. It's been a brilliant experience for me. People are starting to notice and comment.
Stayed on 5mg this week as suppression was very high on holiday last week.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing! Xx
