Heading home tomorrow, curious to see what the scale says. Have been eating pretty much what I wanted during this holiday, difference being that I didn't want that much this time. Still probably some gain - but it's holiday season so have a lot of substitute fitness classes to teach, should help.

MissPobjoysPonies · 16/07/2025 22:09

Lowest weight I’ve been in 20 years today - 4lbs off not being overweight!

BMI 25.5
Two bra sizes down - band wise.
size 12
feel amazing except I have no clothes that fit me!

2025istheyeari · 17/07/2025 02:14

Thanks for sharing the article @Polkadotdash , interesting and worrying at the same time! My last jab was 2 weeks ago and I am definitely feeling hungrier BUT I’m practising restraint, so I’m hopeful as beeezypear said that by using these new found habits ( in my case no alcohol, more exercise, intermittent fasting and less sugar), I’ll maintain. Having said that I am also clear I need to stay on MJ, albeit hopefully a much lower dose. I’m home from holiday on Sunday evening so it’ll be interesting to see what the scales say on Monday! I’ve walked a lot but definitely eaten more, even breakfast sometimes which I don’t normally have. Happy Thiursday everyone!

BreezyPeer · 17/07/2025 07:45

Weigh day and jab day for me!
SW before MJ 16st
SW 15st 12
CW 12st 2.75
1st GW 14st 6lb MET!! 🎉
2nd GW 13st 3lb MET!! 🥳 🎉
Final GW 12st 0
Week 27 1.25lb loss
Total loss so far 3st 11.25lb

So close to a healthy weight. Quite desperate to make it by next Thursday as that means I will be 'normal' BMI by my birthday. Got 2.75lb to lose to make it!
Stayed on 5mg this week.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing! Xx

Morning all

Great to hear that people are doing well on holiday and if gaining just a minor blip.

It's now two weeks to my wedding! This hasn't been a wedding focussed weight loss, but obviously it's hard not to see the date as some sort of target. I'm now 10st 1, which is 1lb off my initial goal weight, size 12s are fitting nicely and I'm also in the need new knickers club!

Like others I'm revising my goal down a bit, 9st7 feels ambitious but I will definitely need a little wiggle room, and would be happy settling in the high 9s.

I'm continuing to jab 6mg out of a 10 pen, but am going to skip a jab over wedding week to maximise my enjoyment (and cake!!).

Beyond that I will keep going through August, and then look to taper down, although this may be limited with a tropical three week trip where we'll be moving about so I can't have full confidence in keeping the pen below 30 degrees. So I may well just have to cut off more suddenly and let my new habits do the talking! Hopefully that will go ok with hot climate (less desire to eat anyway), fresh fruit and minimal processed food.

Somewhere amongst all this I need to up my exercise. I'm really impressed with everyone's activities and have no idea what to pick up, I do yoga and Pilates once or twice a week but know that I need to do more!

Have a great day all!

discov · 17/07/2025 10:05

@MissPobjoysPonies fabulous well done! None of my clothes fit me either and I’m still trying to hold off until I’ve lost these last 11lbs to buy anything apart from the basics. Living in M&S leggings and baggy tees at the minute! I did cave and buy a pair of jeans from ASOS but they were in the sale and super cheap. So glad you are feeling amazing!!

@BreezyPeer excellent, you are so close! Almost 4st loss is incredible.

A friend of mine who started in October and had similar stats to me messaged me the other day and said she’s totally come off MJ now, as of 2-3 months ago. She said she was so worried about hunger coming back with a vengeance but she said it’s not as bad as she expected and she’s managed to keep up the healthy habits she developed, and has maintained pretty easily. My habits are not so healthy recently so I need to focus on getting everything back on track (I know I sound like a broken record!!).

Sorry if that link isn't working. I posted from the app and did get it to work there but looks very odd now on laptop and won't redirect! There was something on Reddit that I followed that gave access to the article if anyone is interested. I could try to screenshot if you can't find it.

Jins · 17/07/2025 11:34

I’m not sure what the criteria were a couple of years ago and I’m not sure how many people were self funding but we’ve all forked out around a grand so far and I can’t imagine any of us wanting to go through this again. £150 a month is quite a motivator for me.

Anyway I seem to have gone back in time to months ago when all I had to worry about was constipation 🤣. It feels like my relationship with MJ is being reset which is no bad thing. Strong suppression today with a blood level estimate of 6.3 which has surprised me. I don’t think I’ll move up again as I want to take this stage slowly.

'about a grand so far' actually made my stomach drop - argh 😅 DEFINITELY a reason not to go backwards...

Isn't it great that targets that were previously out of reach are now possible, should we want them!

Enjoy your wedding day ❤️

If you want to take your pen a frio will keep the pen below 30 and just gets activated using water, so great for travelling. It's not fridge temperature so not good for new pens in storage, but perfect if you want to keep an in use pen ok. I'm using it in my bedroom currently as that's where I keep my pen and I'm worried being in the loft room that it could get too hot. I just put the Frio in water every couple of days.

MJalltheway · 17/07/2025 12:24

Thanks for sharing the article @Polkadotdash, while it's a bit concerning, it's helpful to be aware of to try and avoid the pitfalls afterwards. It makes sense that just using MJ to drop weight without addressing habits, diet, exercise etc would have the same results as any other diet does when you stop and revert back to previous levels of eating. Also I would say that it would seem like the people in the study possibly didn't use it for long, their average drop was 9kg which doesn't seem very much.
Its worrying as we don't know what the long term holds but I've changed so much this year, cut out (as much as possible) UPFs, upped protein and fibre, cut carbs, cut out crisps, biscuits, unhealthy snacks and massively increased exercise. None of it feels like a chore or anything I would want to change when I get to goal so I'm hopeful I can sustain this for a good while.

RockyisMYRhino · 17/07/2025 12:26

Weigh in and jab day for me again and a pretty successful week despite being a bit poorly and not being able to go to the gym at all. It will be a lot harder to get there for the next few weeks as well with both DC on holiday from school and not being old enough to be left alone at all. Perimenopause symptoms seem to have settled this week which has also helped I think!
SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 12st 11lb (-2lb this week 😁)
GW: 10st 7lb

Randomusernameforcode · 17/07/2025 22:54

Hey!
So my pen arrived Monday and I jabbed Tuesday. (8 weeks post last jab) Amazingly, I feel I can already feel the effects today. Nothing crazy but defo no food noise and im not ravenous.

Managed to eat a healthy lunch and 2/3 of an evening meal. The reason im surprised is that I've read people who have started and stopped have no impact when re starting on 2.5mg.

So,
SW 14st 1lb
GW 11st 7lb
Started 31st Dec and stopped (I think) 16th May when just under GW was achieved.

Current weight is 12st/ 12st 2lb.
In 8 weeks I've gained half a stone. Spent a few weeks dropping and gaining 3lb give or take.

New goal is 11st and I'll be happy with 7lb either side of this.

For context.. I realise its a marginal weight loss im chasing but, with hindsight I came off the jabs too early. I should have

  1. Set my goal lower.
  2. Not stopped just before a boozy, 2 week all inclusive holiday!
  3. As I mentioned before, I should have joined the gym ages ago.
  4. Prepared more when coming off the jabs.
The biggest thing I noticed was the increased hunger and I mean actual physical, cant concentrate, stomach rumbling hunger. Had I have anticipated this i could have put much more effort into meal planning and prep.

Great to read everyone's progress 😊. So many amazing loses and positive mindsets.

Onwards and downwards!

Zempy · 18/07/2025 06:36

Like others I am trying to balance my dosage and it’s tricky.

I can’t be ill like I was in France, but I really want to lose this final half stone. I injected 8.33 last night. Woke up incredibly tired but going to power through. Hopefully I get suppression without the dizzy spells.

tinyemmy · 18/07/2025 06:45

That's interesting @Randomusernameforcode I am still on 2.5 mj but maintaining for about 6-8 weeks. My issue is at this dose my desire for sugar has come back. I'm not hungry, I rarely got hungry before mj but I do chase sugar, the whole once you start you can't stop. I do stop, I just don't stop as quickly as I did on 5mg and I daren't come off as I literally had no off switch before I went onto mj! Could I if I tried really hard, probably but then I'd spend all day trying not to eat sugar so certainly planning on staying in for the foreseeable...

TomorrowPenny · 18/07/2025 08:17

@RockyisMYRhino , well done on your loss.

I'm more or less back to where I was pre holiday (still 0.4kg up) which I'm happy with. I'm going to inject two days early (had a smaller dose this week as I'd missed one) and get back to my usual day increasing to 6.25mg.

I'm not very hungry at all this week. I didn't bother cooking anything for dinner last night as I was home alone which isn't ideal as I only had a couple of yoghurts and half a sandwich all day. Must do better today. I also barely moved yesterday, at my desk from 8am until 6:30pm and then I carried on at home in the evening, step count about 3000 😱.

I'm reading everyone's maintenance stories with interest, I am really hoping not to need to stay on this for too long.

@asparagusfearne Have a wonderful day and break, you must be thrilled to be so close to your original target with your wedding day around the corner, many congratulations. 🌸

DGonMJ · 18/07/2025 08:23

Morning all, been reading all week just no time to post. Welcome back @Randomusernameforcode hope you get back on track, your list on why the regain makes sense.

Maintenance update:

Day 6 of my new lower dose of 3.33mg. I’ve ‘gained’ 0.9kg since last Sunday and am back up to 59.7kg. I feel like I’ve eaten really well this week compared to last week - less pastries, cakes, sugar. More protein, veg, salad - fruit instead of ice-cream. And less coffee than last week too. I’m still trying to shake this tickly throat cough, so have been chugging loads of water - so water intake is up too. Have exercised a little more compared to last week doing ‘something’ everyday - but I’m not at my peak yet.

I’m happy with this week’s maintenance. I’ve not calorie counted, I don’t feel deprived, I don’t feel out of control, and I’ve not lost any more weight which is great. Will stick to the 3.33mg for my next jab this Sunday.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 18/07/2025 08:23

Back from holidays where I ate what I wanted and..I've lost half a kilo. I love MJ.

We need a new thread very soon!

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 18/07/2025 09:23

Woohoo @HeidiNotSoHeavy, excellent going!

I’ve just done what feels like the most reckless thing I’ve ever done in my life - I’ve been using my 5 pen to 5 weeks of 3.75 weeks, and today I did a 6th week 😬 it wasn’t in the fridge either. I just looked at how much was left and thought fuck it. Now of course I’m convinced I’m going to die. If I don’t (!) I’ll do it again next month, but keep it in the fridge. Fucking hell I feel a bit terrified by my own foolishness.

whyamisuddenlygettingolder · 18/07/2025 09:32

That makes no sense - I’ve been doing 5 weeks of 3.75, before today, I mean!

I’m now on week 30
SW 18st 10 BMI 48
GW 9st 5 ( I’m only 5”2’ ) which means I need to halve my weight😳
CW 13 st
which means I’ve lost a third of my starting weight but still have 3 and a half stone to go, I’m hoping to get there by the end of the year!
