Update from the dunce of the class: total loss in 6.5 months = 1st 6lbs. Still upping the dose and hoping to have it all kick in at some point. Definitely less hungry and eating a lot less, it just doesn’t translate across to the scales of doom.

Avidly reading all your posts with triumphs over the scales and apart from them (huge well done and admiration from me), thought I’d try on a dress that’s a bit too small. It’s still too small, probably unsurprisingly, given the meagre loss.

And congratulations to @tinyemmy for a mammoth post and some seriously meticulous attention to all the updates!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Grecianrainbow · 04/07/2025 11:04

Just keep plodding Once, I’m 48% to my goal atm. just under 2.5st lost with a little over 2.5st still to go. So I’m going to be here for a good 6-8 months still before thinking about maintenance.

I have official weigh day tomorrow but today I am so close to seeing an 11 at the start I really hope to make it before my holiday. I will end up missing a dose whilst away as I’m not taking it with me, and no scales for 2weeks will be a bit of a change as I weigh daily. Hopefully this will be the first time I don’t come back having put on half a stone a week 😝

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 04/07/2025 11:08

just before we started, I put on 4 kilos during Xmas + 2 weeks in Thailand. Not all inclusive where you want to get your money's worth. Also hoping to finish my curent holiday slimmer, not bigger.

Zempy · 04/07/2025 11:37

I got an email from Oushk saying I need to do a verification video call. I booked it but the earliest is September. I’m hoping to be moving to maintenance by then…

I noticed the verification calls are free but you have to pay for the maintenance calls! I will see if I can wangle my way through. Gosh! Haven’t used that word for decades!

Looking forward to a peaceful weekend.

Polkadotdash · 04/07/2025 16:35

Hi all, just popping back up. I’m still in hospital. Recovery has made a slow start. Operation was bigger than planned so my recovery is going to be a bit tricky I think. Uterus was HUGE when I saw the picture. Like a football. Stomach is very painful and swollen today. No immediate flat stomach for me, which is frankly RUDE! Hospital food is rubbish. But I’m getting lots of cups of tea.

Zempy · 04/07/2025 17:39

Tea fixes everything @Polkadotdash. 💐

myladyjane · 04/07/2025 19:43

@Polkadotdash lovely to hear from you and pleased you have tea. I agree it’s not acceptable re the stomach- happy to send a strongly worded letter of complaint if it willl help. Do you have things to keep you occupied? I can recommend Jilly Cooper on audiobook.

@Zempy- excellent wangle

@0ncemorewithfee1ing fingers crossed something hits the scales soon. And no, no dunce pls.

all this holiday talk is making me envious as no hols for me this year. I have some time off though and rumour has it we may hire a skip so strap in for some exciting stories from me.

myladyjane · 04/07/2025 19:58

Also I don’t know is anyone is interested but the Jack Moseley book re food noise and weight loss drugs is 99p on kindle today. There is also a book about dopamine which I may consider as the dopamine hit from food is my biggest challenge.

Zempy · 04/07/2025 20:13

@myladyjane. God I bloody love a skip!! I have skip envy!

BlueLimes · 04/07/2025 20:14

@0ncemorewithfee1ing that’s a good loss. What dose are you on now? I’ll be here long term too with my 2-4lbs a month loss..,

rest up @Polkadotdash hope your visitors bring you some tasty nibbles.

halfway there @Grecianrainbow - hopefully goal by Christmas

@tinyemmy everyone’s posts gets answered hopefully, don’t think we can expect all too

look furwarf uo exciting skip stories @myladyjane anything like my village and they’ll be skip dramas.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 04/07/2025 20:38

@Polkadotdash but once the swelling settles down, think what amazing waistline you will have - and weighloss, at least football sized uterus worth.

mince3point14159265 · 04/07/2025 21:22

So glad you’ve made it through the surgery @Polkadotdash ; agree they will have pumped you with all sorts in order to do the surgery and will take a little while for the swelling to go down before you can admire your new flatter stomach 🤞
Wishing you much love & gentle hugs for your recovery 🥰

Fabulous work on that bag @Jins ; I had one just like that and also in dark brown (did I mention I might have a bag addiction? 🤪) but I sold nearly all my Mulberrys when we were doing a rather large house project and I was trying to reduce my collection. Still have my very first one from the 80’s and possibly
a Mabel and a Roxanne or 2, whoops! Did say I have a little bag problem!! 😂
I would just like to point out though that the Phoebes that I sold were in immaculate condition so can’t possibly have needed Jins fabulous care & attention! 🪡
On the bag front, I was delighted to see that the Chloe Paddington is having a revival, so might have to dig that one out and look like I’m ahead of the fashion curve for once in my life!!

Like Penny am on a very small phone screen for the next few days so may struggle with reading everyone’s posts, so apologies in advance.

Much love to all you lovely losers ❤️

Jins · 04/07/2025 23:22

I really didn’t need to hear that the Paddington is having a moment @mince3point14159265 as that’s one that I moved on ages ago. I did find it ridiculously heavy though. The one I really miss is the Spy that I treated myself to when I got a new job in 2006. That had to go to fund my business start up and if I’m honest I probably wouldn’t have sold it if I had my time again. There were so many fakes around at the time that everyone assumed mine were fakes as well which annoyed me 🤣. I still have a replica Balenciaga Motorcycle which I’ll keep, couldn’t justify the expense of the real thing back in 2001/2.

I’ve really let myself down on the food front today 😢. I started off well enough but by 6pm I was mainlining mango sorbet and flapjacks. 3lbs up from this morning and buzzing with a sugar high isn’t where I’d hoped to be at this stage.

BlueLimes · 05/07/2025 06:39

@Jins think of it as a cheat day, one off sugar won’t cause much damage. I love the Balanciaga bags, never splurged on one though.

@mince3point14159265 I’ve a Roxanne - must dig it out in the Autumn.

I really need new jeans and a casual jacket but think I’ll wait for half a stone loss.

Thelittlestranger · 05/07/2025 06:53

@BlueLimes I have bought 4 pairs of new jeans so far - one pair I have already sold on, and the others are comfy, but don't want them getting looser. I can only counsel to wait a little - while hard (and I didn't listen!) the smaller you get, the bigger difference each pound makes.

There is no rhyme or reason to weight gain sometimes. I haven't gained while on my period this week at all - for the first time ever I think. In fact I've lost. Even after drinks the last two nights and plenty of food. I expect it will arrive when I'm least expecting it. I did go for a lovely 1km open water swim yesterday though - really enjoyable.

BlueLimes · 05/07/2025 06:58

I’ll take your advice @Thelittlestranger I’ve discovered that things that now fit, I no longer like and feel frumpy in.

I’m feeling annoying with people not on WLI who frequent this board to write judgy posts. What do they get out of it I wonder …

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 05/07/2025 07:32

@BlueLimes the most judgemental I've met are the ones who are not naturally slim, but manage to keep their weight down with massive efforts. People like us, who could not keep themselves slim despite our efforts, they could feel superior to us.
So they are not happy we are now messing with the natural pecking order.

MJalltheway · 05/07/2025 07:54

Morning all! Concert last night was fab, even though part way through I was basically disappearing under a mound of snotty tissues 🤧 Lucky were in a box that wasn't full so could keep my distance from people. Hotel is pretty crappy though and the bed is like being on a pile of lumpy cardboard so have not slept much. I'm not really a fan of London or cities in general - Royal Albert hall spectacular though, loved it.
Sent a photo of me and DH to my mum who said I looked 'quite slim' 🤨
She is generally very supportive!

Jins · 05/07/2025 09:25

Posting purely for accountability - I’m 2.2lb up this morning, all my body fat metrics are up (including visceral fat) and I’m 60 again. It’s not like I don’t know that carbs aren’t my friend so it serves me right really.

Tough times ahead with MIL as her refusal to take recommended treatment is not paying off for her. DH was at her care home yesterday to arrange movement to a nursing bed so she can get better pain relief. Realistically she’s in a final decline and at nearly 90 she’s had a good run. Trouble is that none of us know how we’re supposed to be feeling. I’ve got it easy as I processed her attitude towards me over 30 years ago but for the rest of my household it’s more complicated. DS1 is pretty robust and can laugh about the treatment he’s had but DS2 has always been her favourite and he’d prefer the opposite. DH has always tolerated her poor treatment of him but has been into battle a few times over the treatment of the DSs. It’s a sharp contrast to the situation when we lost my mum for sure!

As I say - tough times and not at all straightforward.

Anyway today’s another day, the mango sorbet won’t be touched and the flapjacks have been taken away by DH as they were for his snacks for a day doing energetic things with his mates. Jab day tomorrow and the first day of my half dose every 5 days regime. I need to order a new pen soon, think I’ll order another 7.5mg and make it last. I’m comfortable with going over the 30 days and I really need to trim costs as my pot of cash for WLI is now empty.

Sorry for the ramble. Can’t discuss any of this IRL so thank you losers for being here 😘

BlueLimes · 05/07/2025 09:49

Oh @Jins that’s really tough. Families are so tricky and relationships difficult to navigate. It’s helps to talk about it anywhere - possibly easier here?

re pens - I’ve used mine for 6/7 weeks with no problems. Main risk is bacterial contamination - easily mitigated by swabbing well.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy absolutely agree, when I’ve lost weight before, it’s always those that don’t comment.
glad your concert was good @MJalltheway my mum was also fond of the word ‘quite’ nothing was ever just nice 😬

Zempy · 05/07/2025 09:58

@jinsThat does sound difficult. When my XMIL died (she hated every woman her little soldier ever dated) I can’t say I was sad. I was absolutely full of care and sympathy for my adult DC. Luckily for me, XH new wife had to deal with him, and it nearly broke them up. Families are so complex. Vent away on here, it’s much safer when feelings are running so high.

Jeans! I bought myself some new 30/30 Levi 501s as I edged towards that size, hardly daring to dream I would ever reach that size and claim my reward…
You guessed it, one minute I couldn’t do the buttons up and three weeks later when I thought I was there, they were too big!! The lovely lady who bought them from me sent me a message saying how they fitted her perfectly and she was so happy with them. So I just have second hand Vinted jeans now, and I sell them as they become too big.

I am 9:10 today. The Juniper app has me in my final target zone. I have six pounds left to lose. My tummy is FINALLY starting to flatten down. I’m another one who eats carbs then wonders why I wake up with a football stomach!

Have a great weekend losers!

discov · 05/07/2025 10:15

Good to hear from you @Polkadotdashi hope your extended stay in hospital isn’t too uncomfortable, and you are home soon.

discov · 05/07/2025 10:20

I have also been buying jeans from Vinted but it’s very frustrating because the sizes vary so much. I always wore a certain style from Monki as they accommodated my small waist/giant arse ratio without being all gappy at the back. So I’ve stuck with Monki branded jeans as I’ve gotten smaller. The ones I’m wearing now are a size 28w but are a bit roomy (I think I could take them in at the waist), but then I’ve had the same size which are massive on me, and bigger size which are really small!

My friend gave me a pair of Levi’s when I was a size 14 and they were brilliant. So once I am happy with my weight I am going to go real life shopping and try a load on.

BlueLimes · 05/07/2025 10:51

My problem is - slim legs abs hips but fat tummy - so if they fit around the waist they’re too big elsewhere. Jeggings fit well but I’m over them.

Thelittlestranger · 05/07/2025 12:33

Maybe we should start selling each other our jeans?! 😉 @Zempy the pair that got too big for me were 30/28 501s!! I also have some larger Levis dad jeans, blue and black going on Vinted. Now in 27 (28 length) levis - and I bought all the colours of the 501 shorts. Levis definitely fit me well, but most importantly they do short leg.

@Jins rant away. Better out than in, etc...
