My go to at the minute are wide legged culotte type cropped trousers, nice and breezy, look smart enough and can get some nice summery patterns.

Lots of M&S ones on Vinted... I've just sold a pair which got too big and another pair are heading that way so I might have to look for a new pair in a 10 (?!!!)

And I'm another member of the low blood pressure club! I've always been low - 110/62 would be pretty standard for me, but have noticed recently I might get dizzy when I first get out of bed or stand up quickly. Will keep tabs on my water consumption again as that has certainly tailed off.

Have a great day all

Jins · 17/06/2025 08:37

Oooh. Another club I can join! I’ve always had low blood pressure. White coat syndrome always delivers about 115/70 but at home it’s much less. I’ve only been dizzy once and BP was 80/60, not sure why. When I was in hospital after surgery it was so low they had to take it manually. Ended up with a cubicle full of people asking if I felt ok 😆. It probably explains my higher than desirable resting heart rate though.

Mild sulphur burps yesterday which is incredibly annoying as I’d really handled 6.25mg well a few months ago. I really wish I’d not gone up to 7.5mg, it seems to have triggered side effects. I’m going to push through with this pen though as initial goal is so close and second goal doesn’t matter too much

Polkadotdash · 17/06/2025 08:59

I put off doing my jab last night as I didn’t feel great. Going to just do 7.5mg from the 10mg later if I feel ok.

GP just rang me to ask me my BMI (part of my op stuff). I’m on the train so I was trying to be discreet. ‘28’ I said. To which she replied ‘28kg?’ Yes. Yes I’m 28kg. 🤯

BlueLimes · 17/06/2025 09:36

I’m absolutely p’d off. I’ve lost 5.5lbs in 8 weeks.
I think I’ll avoid this thread for a while, I don’t feel I’ve linked in well anyway.

Good luck all!

@BlueLimes oh I’m so sorry to hear that. I really appreciated your BP advice only yesterday. Hopefully a whoosh is due, what pen are you on? Please come back as and when you’re ready. Loads of luck.

Jins · 17/06/2025 10:47

@BlueLimes I hope your break is short lived. I love to see everyone’s contributions - not just on weight loss!

MJalltheway · 17/06/2025 10:50

How frustrating @BlueLimes , where are you in relation to goal?

moving up to 10mg has definitely been the right decision for me. I'm not really noticing much more suppression and still seem to be eating as I was on 7.5mg but have dropped 0.8kg since Friday (10mg jab day) so far.

I feel your pain. My weight loss is at a stand still. I have only lost 6 pounds since 2 April. I have lost 22 pound in total but I need to lose another 15 pounds just to get to a BMI of 25.

TicTac80 · 17/06/2025 12:38

Update on pharmulous order for second 10mg maintenance pen…order has been approved!! Yay/phew!

I am back to work tomorrow (unless I win jackpot tonight), so I’ll do some batch cooking today (suppers for me/the DC) and prep a salad for lunches.

For those not losing as much as they like, during my MJ weightloss, there was a clear pattern of loss then gain, then staying the same. Rinse and repeat. I weighed myself daily as I wanted to see if what the pattern looked like.

What’s your calorie intake? That made a big difference to me too. I THOUGHT I was doing the right thing on the 1500cals I used to be on, but I was still gaining (pre MJ). I saw someone on the earlier threads posted about us needing fewer calories the older we got (I’m 44 but menopause started when I was about 38), so I’m thinking my ideal intake once off MJ completely will be around the 1200 mark. I don’t know - but will log food and keep an eye on things. Good luck and don’t stay away for long, we are all supporting you xx

TicTac80 · 17/06/2025 12:58

Also reflecting, I think I’m going to need to be on the ball with this for the rest of my life. ie checking my weight and really keeping a close eye on what I eat.

It’s bloody scary how much weight I put on in 4/5yrs. Best part of 4 stone. Late last year, I looked after a wonderful lady who was morbidly obese. She had been on the list for bilateral knee replacements before Covid hit but then lockdown happened and more weight piled on. Her mobility was shot due to knee issues, poor thing. And her health situation meant she now wasn’t fit for the surgery she needed. An awful crappy catch 22 situation to be in!

Looking after her made me really look at myself. I’d put on that four stone despite me not changing my job (nurse, working full time on a very busy ward) or diet (healthy and balanced but I should have tweaked down calorie intake). Months of trying out different diets and I only lost about 5kg which would then come back on etc. shows how easily it can happen to any of us, doesn’t it?

I’ll never take things for granted again.

Polkadotdash · 17/06/2025 13:39

@BlueLimes if it’s any consolation I’ve only lost 7lbs in 8 weeks, despite moving up to 10mg to try to improve losses. Losing slowly is an absolute ballache. And it’s expensive. Hang on in there x

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/06/2025 14:00

Same here @TicTac80
I didn't keep on eye on my weigh gain and it just sneakily creeped up. A kilo here, 2 there..

I am OK to keep a close eye on it in the future though, as it's manageable with MJ. And being slim is fabulous!

TicTac80 · 17/06/2025 14:15

@HeidiNotSoHeavy , I think I'm going to:
-track food intake.
-watch my weight more frequently (weekly). Tweak food intake as needed. Take proper action when weight hits, say 60kg (or choose another acceptable max weight).
-Look at the Michael Moseley stuff on Mediterranean diet, 5:2 etc etc. Maybe do a sort of 5:2 thing for keeping up with maintaining weight after MJ maintenance finishes.

I don't want to put all the weight back on/have fat % increase again, and I think it will be far easier to keep a lid on weight gain if I stay savvy from now on. And yes, it's bloody great being back to my old weight....even though I'm still occasionally getting pretty shitty comments about being too skinny/looking like a POW etc!

Noooo. Don’t go!

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/06/2025 17:47

My wardrobe is almost empty now, nothing fits. But besides a few casual items I've bought from Vinted, I just don't like anything. Was walking around in shops and everything is just ..meh.
And remembered that it's exactly like the years when I started earning decent money. Before, shops were full of stuff I coveted, but couldn't afford. When I could afford, I didn't like anything.
Just like right now - before, there were so many beautiful items that I wanted to buy, but that didn't flatter a fuller figure, to put it nicely. Now I don't need to consider that and can't find a thing I like.

tinyemmy · 17/06/2025 17:54

I also let things go, it was over a 4/5 year period where is go on diets and lose some but them out it back on and more. On the way down I'd weigh daily and binge at any excuse, on the way up head in the sand. To be honest I couldn't fix it. I knew I needed to lose weight but just couldn't stick to a diet. I think then I was so used to seeing fat me in the mirror Is forgotten what normal me looked like and fat me became the new normal.

I don't know what to do weighing wise. I'm currently weighing daily. I wanted to try and reduce it but the benefit of daily is you know what's going on. It went up on Monday after the weekend, on Tuesday it's still up but down on Monday. I've been trying to eat closer to maintenance calories by having an extra snacks and enjoying myself a bit more at the weekend so I do expect my weigh to fluctuate. I've set my target as 8st 7, I was 8st 5 on Friday and 8st 7.4 on Monday. I'd say based on renpho stats ideally 8st 7 is the max, but perhaps 8st 8. I know how to lose weight now but probably need mj to stick to it. I think I can maintain on 2.5 but if I need to lose for any reason I might need to go up for a week or two. We shall see. Perhaps longer term I can try without mj and maybe longer term I can trust myself to weigh in once or twice per week.

TomorrowPenny · 17/06/2025 19:50

@BlueLimes my loss is similar and it’s bloody boring as well as hard work. I feel the same. I think it’s ok to take a break, here, MJ, whatever you want to do.

It’s like when you have a gift voucher to spend, you can never bloody find anything you like 😄

BlueLimes · 17/06/2025 21:13

Thank you so much for the really kind messages. I wasn’t flouncing all day, busy at work and we had a visiting team so had catering, which fortunately wasn’t that great - I did stress eat some haribo.
I need to take a step back, my weigh ins are dictating my mood and that’s not good.

Im on 12.5mg with good suppression for 3-4 days, gym 3 times a week, 14000 steps a day, lots of protein and water, mostly 800-1200 calories. I might just take a short break from logging and weighing and hopefully return with renewed enthusiasm.

Thanks so much for the support.

BlueLimes · 17/06/2025 21:19

Also wishing @Polkadotdash @Boohoo76 @TomorrowPenny a big whoosh soon 🤞

meatyryvita · 17/06/2025 21:22

I had my first ‘wow, you’ve lost weight’ comment at work today from a long-standing colleague with whom I have a great relationship. He asked how I’d done it and asked openly about if I’d used jabs. I said I had been focussed on protein and low carb.

He said that he knows lots of people using the jabs but they lose so fast that they get ‘ozempic face’. I quite honestly told him that my weight loss had taken nearly 5 months and he said that it was better to go slow. So I didn’t deny it but I put paid to his (not unkind) speculation by saying it had taken me some time.

I wore my White Company black trousers in size 16 today and they were so very baggy! I think I’m within a whisker of 14!

Have a great evening losers!

@BlueLimes ❤️

I was supposed to jab yesterday, but was out for dinner and drinks, so didn't. And I haven't jabbed today either. I'm trying to work out why I haven't. I have a pen to start in the fridge - I think I will do it tomorrow, so I'm aligned with finishing the pen just before I go on holiday - and then take a week's break. Having very stressful time at work at the moment, and I'm just not in the mood I think 🤔

I bought another load of clothes from ASOS and will send a load of them back. @HeidiNotSoHeavy I am not feeling lots of the clothes either ...

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/06/2025 22:05

funny, isn't it. clothes unarguably look better on our slimmer bodies. But I've spent so many years shopping clothes for 'damage limitation' (does this draped top hide my belly the best? Will this wide a-line skirt make my waist look smaller?) so I don't really know how to dress any more when that's not an issue.

discov · 17/06/2025 22:30

@BlueLimes that sounds sensible. I’m sorry you’re struggling with it. Hope you come back to us soon!

Exactly - it’s lovely, quite strange and slightly daunting to go from buying clothes because they fit/ disguise our shape/ will do to finding what we actually like and suits us.
