Could I get some advice, please? I have a glut of 10mg pens, but really need to go up to 12.5mg. Would I be better buying some 2.5 and injecting twice? Or (more preferable) take a longer dose from my existing pens? And I’ve done no counting clicks yet so how many would that be? I’m guessing that’s the only way. I can’t quite work out how to take an extra 1/4 dose, leaving 3/4 - which means the next one would be the remainder of that, plus half of the next. And so on…🤯

I'm taking 10mg now from a 7.5mg pen. How I did it was count clicks to the partial dose (20 in my case) then use a pen or pencil to mark a line in the window so you have it there for future uses. Then inject that dose - leave the needle in, turn the pen to the full dose and inject that. That way you only need one needle and it's easy to get to the correct dose without having to look at the window or count clicks because you just turn the pen to the end point.

I’ve just travelled between Gatwick and Nice. At LGW I had my liquids in a clear bag but didn’t have to get them out but at Nice I did have to put them in the tray. I have used a cool case from Amazon for my pen. The first time I used it back in March just between LGW and Nice it didn’t stay very cool so I bought a gel pack and used that the next time which worked better. I just put the pen itself in the travel case and there’s room for a few swabs and needles and I keep the original box in my hand luggage in case anyone wants to see it. I put the pen case in the tray.

@Polkadotdash tdash yes hysterectomy and Y6 is not going to be the best combo, although they are supposed to be independent so maybe DD can help more? Although she won't get the incessant emails, WhatsApps etc!

@Zempy py my BP is low 100s over mid-60s. If I get up too fast I get dizzy. This was the case pre-mj though. The Dr tends to only worry if it's below 100.

Good luck @discov ov I think she's ok but I read her diary and she mentioned wanting to be home schooled. She doesn't want me to speak to school so we will see how today goes. She generally won't speak to me but she might write something down so I will check her room later. Hopefully your residential is incident free!

I don't know what I've missed as my emails are just linking me to the last page of the thread rather than wherever it should be.

On the airport front hubby just came back from Croatia and Gatwick forced him to split his sun cream into 100mls (why he took a big one I don't know!!) and put it into a clear bag. When we travelled in May we didn't need to take them out. Who knows what's going on!

I've taken another 2.5 today, weight a bit up after weekend excesses but to be expected. This will be my fourth 2.5 dose so this should be the last of the titration down. I think I will stay here for a month (presuming weight stays the same) before trying to drop a little more.

Definitely coming off my antidepressants after reading this article. I thought I'd gained loads really fast when I started taking it last year but I've really noticed it again after a break and then restarting

Hi all. Feeling good today, did a 30min peloton ride this morning and then walked 25min to the station.
Will be interesting to see how the ever so slightly lower dose affects me this week. So far, suppression was there but less intense over breakfast. But really it might not peak till tomorrow/Weds.

Interesting to hear about dizziness in others. I was definitely getting this a lot over the last couple of weeks. BP is probably lower, but also I’m wondering if not tracking calories means I was actually eating less than maintenance. I’ve been lax with water too. Hence still losing weight, but also feeling faint. I’m going to track today/tomorrow/Weds to see where I end up.

@Zempy do take it easy getting up, especially if you live on your own. In the mornings if I feel dizzy on getting out of bed I immediately sit back down and wait for it to pass before standing.

DGonMJ · 16/06/2025 12:50

@tinyemmy @discov and those managing end of school year with ND children. Feel for you. We’re just out the other side of 2 Gces (5 papers) for autistic DS. I’m so so so proud of him, but we had some tough moments. We’re all taking a breather before figuring out the next stage (maybe more GCSEs, hopefully an apprenticeship). Hope you also get your breather once term is over.

mince3point14159265 · 16/06/2025 12:54

@sociallydistained many thanks for your feedback; glad 10 seems to be ok for you. It's so difficult trying to work out what's best when it seems to affect all of us so differently! 🙏

Sorry to hear the troubles some of you are having re children & bullying. At least when we were younger we didn't have social media invading our every waking moments. It's horrible what some kids will put others through now. 🤬

Well done on the peloton! I made it to a 6:30 gym class. I didn't want to get up but I'm so pleased I did! I've really gotten into it. I used to go to the gym daily in my 20s and the same with running in my 30s (with one or two rest days), I think the rest of my 40s will be all about strength training and martial arts!

I just had an update on my medical blood tests HBA1C is 33 which is great, non-fasting glucose (although I hadn't eaten but had black coffee) was 3.9 so a tad low. I've always said I struggle a bit with that it could also be the cause of dizziness and would make sense being on mj. So I think making sure we eat enough is important. I'm going to make a conscious effort to eat breakfast!

@DGonMJ well done to DS on GCSEs I hope it went how you all hoped ❤️

MJalltheway · 16/06/2025 14:23

Good work @tinyemmy 6:30am class is inspiring! I used to go to an 8:30am one on a Sunday morning and thought that was pretty impressive 😂

Very happy today that my scales are reporting that my metabolic age is 60. Ok, I'm 51 so it's still over, but my metabolic age was 80 when I started this journey in January!

it's going to be so hot this week, I'm thinking I might take a trip to our local outlet village and get a couple of summery things suitable for work. Maybe even in a smaller size..!

2025istheyeari · 16/06/2025 15:47

@Zempy i get light headed and a bit dizzy too, had my bp done last week as part of my HRT reassessment and it was 100/75, I’ve always been in the lower end of normal. Pharmacist didn’t seem to be worried, in fact said it was v good and asked what I’d been doing. I’m v conscious though that I’ve not eaten enough this week, for no reason other than I haven’t fancied it. Like others have said, keep an eye and definitely be careful getting up and moving around.

So sorry for all of you whose dc are struggling. We had to move ds school
in year 6 because of awful bullying. Kids can be so cruel. Really hope they are ok ( and you too, it’s bloody awful for parents too).

Well done to your ds @DGonMJ , that’s amazing! My ds finished today as well, bring on summer!!

Zempy · 16/06/2025 08:39

Gatwick last month they weren’t using the plastic bags.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy I loaded three items yesterday and sold them all within 90 minutes. I worked out my sales ratio is 80% which is far better than I thought it was.

I have been getting dizzy spells the past few days. It’s probably low blood pressure but it’s a bit worrying as I live alone. Anyone else had this as a side effect?

I’m struggling with dizziness and low BP too. Checked when laying down/standing when I felt rough and it was 80/50 lying down, 99/58 when standing after a minute. I drink more than I ever did, but I still think it’s dehydration as what I eat doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Therealmetherealme · 16/06/2025 16:17

Sorry to hear many are struggling with year six and neurodiverse children. I’ve had similar to deal with, we’re almost at the end of yr 7 now and the transition to secondary (mainstream) was huge. My other child can luckily stay at their EHCP school until 18 so that’s a relief. I am worried about the school holidays though, the summer hols have been so bad previously, I had what I think was a breakdown a couple of years ago. We are in a better place this year I think, but I worry about the boredom eating, stress eating, sugar for energy, late night treats, early morning wake up snacks and just general ‘fuck it I deserve it’ food choices.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 16/06/2025 16:18

we moved schools when DS was 8, also because of bullying. Parents of the bully didn't care, as they had also been the local school bullies growing up. Charming family.

MJalltheway · 16/06/2025 16:29

Sorry to hear so many tales of bullying, it seems absolutely rife. we moved DS's school in y7 because of bullying by y10 boys (literally 2 weeks before covid lockdown!). Thankfully no issues since then.
i hope everyone manages to get a resolution one way or another for their children, I remember the feelings of powerlessness and rage and anxiety when we were going through it. ❤️

tinyemmy · 16/06/2025 16:54

Well done @MJalltheway

And so sorry to hear of so many bullying stories from so many people ❤️
I hope things get better for us all!

TicTac80 · 16/06/2025 20:23

Hello all,

hope everyone is ok! I'm about halfway into my first maintenance pen (and thinking of that, need to order my next pen - hoping they will allow this as I'm not looking to lose any more weight - I'll try and sort this tonight).

SW (as at Jan 3rd): 76.2kg, BMI 28, fat 36.5%, subcut fat 32.7, visceral fat 11, water 43.6%, metabolic age 49 (I'm 44).

CW (yesterday): 53.55kg, BMI 19.7, fat 26.2%, subcut fat 24.9%, visceral fat 3, water 50.6%, metabolic age 39.

I can't believe the difference. Most important things for me are the fat %'s going down to healthy ranges. I was actually close to 80kg when I started seriously considering WLIs (and reading these threads on MN back in Nov)....and I got on/got straight off the scales without syncing to my phone, so god knows what my stats were then.

I went to a charity shop in town as most of my clothing is now too big for me. Grabbed a couple of dresses in size small (no changing rooms so I took a chance), which was nuts. I need to go to a shop and just try things on as I don't have a clue what actual size I am. I can fit into my daughter's stuff though (she's 11 but taller and a bit heavier than me - now I mean). This could be handy as I can just keep her stuff (she has loads of cool stuff) if/when she grows out of it...

Polkadotdash · 16/06/2025 20:53

@Therealmetherealme what you’ve gone sounds really tough. The eating patterns I can recognise too. Sometimes food is the only uncomplicated source of joy in your life. That and the eating for energy when what you really need is rest and recuperation but there isn’t an option for that. ❤️
That’s what I always feel that people who have never struggled with their weight don’t realise. You don’t want to be fat, but life is throwing so much shite at you that in that moment if it takes a whole pack of biscuits to get you through, that’s what’s it takes.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 16/06/2025 21:31

congratulations @TicTac80 !
It takes ages for our brains to catch up with our current sizes, it seems - I keep doing the same, picking up clothes and estimating that well that should fit, and then of course the clothes are too big.

Much more pleasant than last year, when I was very much in denial about my size, and kept wondering why no clothes in 'my size' would go around me..

Congratulations @TicTac80 we are the same age and very similar start and end weights. I was 73.7kg at the end of December, took my first jab on 8th Jan and am now between 53 and 54kg. I'm shorter though as my BMI is around 22.
What is your maintenance plan and how is it going?

I'm not sure on sizing either. I've got a size 8 pair of jeans that I wore in 2020 and loved but couldn't get them up let alone done up until well into my journey and the last couple of pounds has found them loose (comfortable loose not too loose), I find it strange how much difference 2lbs makes!
My (eldest) daughter is also 11, we will be sharing clothes soon!

Polkadotdash · 16/06/2025 22:32

Hot weather work outfits. I really loathe it. Who are all these people who can breeze on to the tube looking tanned and co-ordinated in linen as soon as it’s warm?

TicTac80 · 16/06/2025 22:36

Thanks guys. Very weird being here as this time last year, I would never have thought I'd ever get back to pre-meno size.

@tinyemmy I have used Pharmulous for my maintenance (after Zava wouldn't consider it!) and bought my first maintenance pen in the middle of last month (a 10mg). I've just done the next order (for 10mg), so will let you guys know how it goes. Unsure how long to keep at 10mg for....or whether I can just use a syringe to dose out a slightly lower amount and taper it off slowly.

I'm keeping up with logging the food I eat, but am not weighing myself each day (more like twice a week). My BMRR (according to my Renpho app) is 1219kcal, but it's bloody difficult to reach this amount. Sounds nuts, but if I try to eat more when I'm full, I feel really ill. Pre MJ, I was eating around 1500cal a day.Maybe when the dose tapers down, I can eat a bit more.

I have my cream linen trousers at the ready for work tomorrow @Polkadotdash 😎

Definitely not tanned or coordinated and thankfully only have a 10 min drive to work! 😂

TicTac80 · 17/06/2025 01:27

I’m so glad/lucky that I wear a uniform for work! Saves me so much bother each day. I’ve had to order new tunics and a dress though, my old tunic was baggier than scrubs.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/06/2025 05:23

I already posted earlier how I accidentally ordered 2 pairs of shorts for my 11yo DS, I kept the other one for myself.
Linen is my nemesis - I always fall into the 'Oh so elegant and cooling for summer' trap and then look like I've slept rough.

Am wearing a lot of dresses and skirts though - so great to be able to do it without chub rub!
