Sorry to those of you having tough times 😢, hope things improve soon.
@TomorrowPenny apparently they need to go in cabin bagge because of the temperature, that’s exactly why I’m not taking mine, we’re going with friends and my son and I don’t want to risk any of them finding out. I know I’m probably overthinking but it was just too much of a worry. Oushk are very happy for me to take 2 weeks off so I’m going to, and hope to enjoy the Japanese food and get back on track when I’m home.
@Jins well done, that’s a great feat on holiday! Well done to everyone else who has had losses and NSV. @HeidiNotSoHeavy i remain in awe of your fitness levels!!

Zempy · 15/06/2025 19:38

Yes I think the product would be wrecked by the ultra low temperatures in the hold unfortunately.

Can you put the pen in a toothpaste box or something?

BlueLimes · 15/06/2025 20:15

If you put a few things in the liquids bag it probably won’t be recognisable?

tinyemmy · 15/06/2025 20:21

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 15/06/2025 13:38

I had to go down with my thyroxine dose, TSH was almost 0. So anybody else taking it, go get a blood test.

Mine came back perfectly, but definitely worth a check!

@discov I'm with you - eldest daughter is ADHD and autistic and struggling in year 6 and sadly was bullied in her residential last week. I'm so angry and sad. Hubby has been away since Thursday, got back today and we met at his parents. I've found it all a bit much!

myladyjane · 15/06/2025 20:25

@discov - I am feeling heaps better and back on track so I am hopeful you will took v soon. My dd is older but has an acute anxiety disorder (if someone said she was nd I would not be surprised in any way but she does t want to pursue at the moment). So wanted to give you a manly hug of solidarity as helping them deal with the overwhelm can be overwhelming. Eat the noodles (I had a fish finger sarnie for dinner as my suppression is off the charts at the moment and I’m into the eat what you fancy place).

@TomorrowPenny would one of those frio cases in black at the bottom of your bag work? I’ve not flown yet but maybe with work fairly soon and would t want my boss to know. I did look these up on Amazon and looked fairly unobtrusive although not seen in the flesh….

TomorrowPenny · 15/06/2025 20:47

Thank you @2025istheyeari and @myladyjane. I googled it too and saw that it’s cabin luggage only in the box with the prescription label on it. I don’t have the box, duly shredded. I think I’ll skip it when I’m away as I’m definitely not having that conversation with DCs. I‘ve worked out that I could still do four x 6.25mg from this new pen with the last one on day 30.

I wonder if they take it out of your bag @myladyjane, or if you have to put it in the liquid bags.

I usually lose weight when I’m on leave just because I’m so much more active than when I’m at work. Maybe less stress/cortisol involved helps too! It isn’t like I’ve got a fabulous losing streak on the go is it 🤣😩😂.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 15/06/2025 20:48

I've flown with my pen several times and I never take it out of the bag and put with liquids, it has so little liquid that not even the strictest airports care, probably looks like stationery on the scan.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 15/06/2025 20:50

@tinyemmy sorry to hear your DD is struggling - we are only as happy as our unhappiest child. My DS is about the same age and I can see that the teenage years will not be a walk in the park.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 15/06/2025 21:11

Gah I love Vinted in general, but what's wrong with people tonight?
Uploaded under midi skirts, described as long skirt, 90 cm, perfect condition.
In 3 minutes, I got 3 buyers messaging:

  • does it have any stains?
  • how long is it?
  • so this is a long skirt?
I mean surely it's not that much work to read this one sentence item description?
discov · 15/06/2025 21:52

@tinyemmy oh gosh your poor dd, that is awful. Mine has her residential at the start of next month and I have no idea how it will go. I think she’s anxious about that and a trip to London this week so that’s what’s causing so many meltdowns. I will be glad once the holidays are here!!

@myladyjane Thank you, I’m sorry to hear about your dd’s struggles too. I bought one of those Bol branded ready meals for tea as I thought it’s better than me eating a slice of toast! But then I did have a big bowl of ice cream afterwards… I’ve not had a fish finger sarnie for soooooo long, I love them!!

Week 25 check in here and celebrating finally seeing that elusive eleven on the scales!

SW: 15.13.0
CW: 11.13.2
Loss this week: 1.2lbs, very nearly 4st in total, yay!

Was contemplating ordering a 10mg and using that straight away and saving the 7.5 for when I hopefully get to goal and can titrate back down, but now a bit worried given how many of you seem to be struggling with 10. Hmmm... thoughts on that idea appreciated!

I did this. Ordered a second 7.5 pen as I thought I'd be there a while and it just lost its effect very quickly so I ordered a 10 and now have a 7.5 in the fridge for when I come back down. I've just finished that pen and have a 12.5 now but think I'm going to stay on 10 for at least a few more weeks.

I did get my first side effects with 10 but it wasn't drastic just a few toilet episodes after eating too much. I needed that tbh as I was able to put away a fair bit and was maybe over eating at points. I also did get low mood but it did level out and I'm okay now with no side effects but suppression is still reasonably good.

Polkadotdash · 15/06/2025 22:50

@discov and @tinyemmy I hear you about the final term of year 6. My dd is in that cohort and the amount of stuff they are trying to cram in is unreal. Every day is dress up, go here, permission for that etc etc. If you have a ND kid as well it’s waaaaay to much to cope with. Luckily we got residential done n October so that’s taken that off the list. That’s awful that your daughter was bullied on her trip. Hope she’s ok?

Tomorrow is ‘Dress up as an ancient Mayan’ day. Like, whaaaaaat???? I don’t know how I’m going to keep up the pace for the last four weeks when I will be recovering from my hysterectomy 😩

Polkadotdash · 15/06/2025 22:52

And on airports - I thought they had stopped doing the ‘put your liquids in a bag’ thing?

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 16/06/2025 00:32

Could I get some advice, please? I have a glut of 10mg pens, but really need to go up to 12.5mg. Would I be better buying some 2.5 and injecting twice? Or (more preferable) take a longer dose from my existing pens? And I’ve done no counting clicks yet so how many would that be? I’m guessing that’s the only way. I can’t quite work out how to take an extra 1/4 dose, leaving 3/4 - which means the next one would be the remainder of that, plus half of the next. And so on…🤯

Grecianrainbow · 16/06/2025 02:21

If you were to take a larger dose from your 10mg pens you’d need to take a full dose of 10mg plus count clicks to do 15 clicks ( 60 is a full dose) which would be your 2.5 dose from the same pen to make 12.5mg.

The next one you’d do the same. But you’d only get 3 12.5mg doses from a full pen so you’d have less on your last dose so you’d probably need a syringe to get the last amount out of 0.75 ml of liquid.

at least in EU airports, they brought it back in January, as the authorities were not convinced the scanners are working as they should.

Polkadotdash · 15/06/2025 22:52

I had to use a bag at Heathrow in April, not in Gatwick in May.

Jins · 16/06/2025 07:43

Liquids were still limited to 100ml and in a separate clear plastic bag at both Manchester and Liverpool airports on my recent trips. The only difference is that now you don’t have to take the clear bag out of your hand luggage. The proposed removal of the 100ml limit seems to have been delayed.

It’s a bit hit and miss what’s going to happen on your return. At Corfu they wanted electronics and liquids out of your bag, Turkey is different anyway as there’s three lots of security but I think it was just electronics out of the bags at the second and random checks at the third.

I took my MJ pen in an insulin travel chiller pack with no box and with a separate insulin needle and it got no attention at all but as it’s black and slid invisibly into the side pocket of my backpack it would only have been spotted by the scanner. Even if you do get a random search they just shuffle things around in your bag a bit to look for the thing they weren’t sure about (in my case my travel water flosser) and swab the interior.

Our flight back from Turkey on Friday was like being in a post-op ward. I think I was the only woman who hadn’t had lip filler. I saw some truly dreadful examples of it as well.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 16/06/2025 08:37

@Jins I was in Istanbul for work not too long ago and travel office had booked a hotel clearly popular with plastic surgery patients. I think I was the only client not bandaged up in one way or the other (men mostly having hair transplants) and yes the duck lips!
Same experience in Dubai recently - I am happy to get some nips and tucks and procedures myself, but OMG if you start to look like Janice from Muppet show, it's a bit much.

Zempy · 16/06/2025 08:39

Gatwick last month they weren’t using the plastic bags.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy I loaded three items yesterday and sold them all within 90 minutes. I worked out my sales ratio is 80% which is far better than I thought it was.

I have been getting dizzy spells the past few days. It’s probably low blood pressure but it’s a bit worrying as I live alone. Anyone else had this as a side effect?

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 16/06/2025 08:47

airports are a pain, they all have different interpretation of rules - in my local, you have to take all electrical items out of the bag as well, hairdryers and such. Saw a funny sketch recently of an airport security morning meeting, in the lines of:
So guys, what shall we do today, liquids in or out? Are creams liquids today? No and we will tell people off for taking them out.
Shoes on or off? On, ok, but we will ask every 5th person to take them off. Hand luggage, in tray or not? Not today?
Sounds legit to me 😁

Jins · 16/06/2025 08:48

@HeidiNotSoHeavy that is exactly the look! DH was horrified - kept asking me why someone would do that to themselves and I had no answer for him 😆 I had the joy of seeing two women examining their new veneers in the mirror of the ladies and they’d been butchered. There’s no way on earth that their gums would recover enough to fill the gaps.

I’ve avoided tweakments so far but I’m definitely not opposed to the idea. This was something else though and I found it really sad.

BlueLimes · 16/06/2025 09:17

@Zempy yes I have. I checked my fasting blood sugar and it was 3.5., definitely lower than my previous normal.
I’d recommend checking your BP & blood glucose. Are you drinking enough? You might need to increase calories slightly. Is there a pattern? Ie first thing in morning ?

Zempy · 16/06/2025 09:38

It’s all day to be honest. Worse if I stand up too quickly or bend down.

Just took BP and it’s 117/70 so low but not too low as far as I know.

I had weetabix for breakfast about an hour ago. I am VERY reluctant to increase calories. I guess I will have to monitor.

BlueLimes · 16/06/2025 09:42

It’s probably your BP- trying drinking a bit more.
