Weighed in at 84.4kg this morning and currently wearing size 12 jeans and t-shirt! Vanity sizing I'm sure as the last time I weighed 84kg (3 years ago, and much fitter) I was a size 16. Who cares, really? I feel good today.

I'm not really a recipe person I just make stuff up as I go. My current favourite meal though is my take on seekh kebab, except I don't shape it individually, I just bake it in a dish as one big slab and then slice it after. Not authentic at all but easy and delicious all the same.

I also never measure spices and herbs, just do what my heart tells me is right!

500g chicken mince
500g turkey mince
Garlic, smushed
Onions, diced however fine you like
Coriander, lots
Chilli, finely chopped
Ginger, smushed
Garam masala

Mix it all together, spread in an even layer in an oven dish, bake until done. Slice into whatever portion size is good for you!

I always have it with aubergine curry, salad, chutney, and raita.

The curry is also super simple.

3 aubergines, chunked (remove skin if you like)
Tin of tomatoes
Garlic
Onion
Ginger
Panch phoron if you have or garam masala
Spinach

Roast or saute the aubergine, add to pot with onions, garlic, ginger, spices and saute for a couple of minutes. Add the tomatoes and simmer until aubergine is soft. Stir in spinach at the last minute. Done!
Really, you can add whatever extras you like. Only have 1 aubergine but need to use up some cauliflower? It works!

@Zibb I was 84kg when I started MJ and was fitting in some size 12’s others a 14. I’m now 74kg and they still fit albeit bigger.

But I still can’t comfortably get into size 12 jeans I’ve had since 2011!

Zibb · 10/06/2025 14:39

Ah I knew it was too good to be true. Why does womens clothes sizing have to be so messed up?

Was just about to get my old jeans from 8 years ago out of storage but I won't bother now! I'll just end up crying.

I will have to measure them all at some point, current size 12 versus size 12 from 8 years ago and see how they compare.

Febnewbie · 10/06/2025 14:45

Sizing is mad! I never get rid of anything and just about getting back into some 16s from 12 years ago which are clearly smaller than today's 12-14s

Zibb · 10/06/2025 15:10

Ah well I don't feel good about myself anymore.

Why can't women's sizing be like men's? :(

I wish sizing was less mad but you are still sizing down which is great!

That's how I try to look at it - I am in a huge range of sizes at any given point because it varies so much, it is more about how you feel!

I am wearing size 20 chinos from M&S (bought last week) and size 20 wide leg, comfort fit, jeans from M&S (bought at the weekend) won’t even get past my thighs. So fed-up with the inconsistency, especially as I’m tall and fat but most brands don’t do tall (31”) above a size 20.

Ke11 · 10/06/2025 10:39

@usedtobeaylis I've always hated seeing pictures of myself, I don't see the image as me and I always stick out and immediately draw the eye as "the fat one". My dad has a picture up of me and him at his wedding a few years ago and I can't even make eye contact with it.

I'm hoping as time goes on I'll settle into my new mental image and be more accepting of pictures. I still can't really accurately judge my smaller physical dimensions but I definitely feel it in work chairs, cinema seats etc

I thought I was smaller than my pictures show - not by much but the difference is so huge to me, I guess because it's my body - but my pictures look no different and my outfit definitely wasn't fitting me the way I thought it did. It looked much better in the mirror.

At least I'll never be accused of losing weight too quickly! No sudden 'from sausage to slim'. Although I wonder if when people finally start noticing it'll seem sudden to them, whereas to me it's been a much longer journey.

Do you ever wear mens clothes? I wear mens t shirts and jumpers and while the sizing isn't moving much on women's clothes, I did have to go down to a medium in men's t shirts as the L sizes are pretty baggy now. I can wear both fine at the moment. It's a nice feeling!

I think our bodies are just so different and the way clothes are made will make a difference. I've got some size 16 t shirts - one I've just relegated to pyjamas because it's swimming on me. Some fit. One stripey one I've never fit into is still too small. They don't look all that different size wise but they seem to all be cut differently at the waist and stomach areas.

Lola50 · 10/06/2025 18:09

@Zibb Cut all the labels out of all the clothes and then you’ll focus on feeling good in whatever you wear.
(I do have a skirt I try on routinely to see if I’ve gotten smaller…)

It is definitely not you, it’s the clothes and the fashion industry!!

You’re doing amazing, everyone on this thread is. We can still want to lose weight whilst also knowing that the size of our jeans do not define our worth!

I know you are right.

It doesn't take much for the body dysmorphia to kick in and then my brain starts telling me I still look exactly the same as I did 4 months ago. This morning I was just feeling those changes and then all of a sudden I can't see them anymore and I'm still 20st Zibby and the clothes might say size 12 but they're just mislabelled and I'm still a size 24.

Stupid brain.
Stupid fashion industry.

Is anyone taking a creatine supplement whilst on Mounjaro? Heard that it helps with potential muscle loss.

sweetpickle2 · 11/06/2025 10:37

Don't be so hard on yourself @Zibb - i hope i'm not overstepping to say that you seem to be very critical of yourself a lot of the times you post on this thread. You're doing really well, and who cares if sizing is all over the place, you're still fitting into clothes that you never used to!

I have had a very unhealthy couple of weeks- away a lot for work, lots of celebrations and going out, alcohol, takeaways, dinners etc. I can see the good habits slowly slipping away in the choices I'm making etc, I guess as I'm 3 jabs into my second 7.5mg pen so the suppression is wearing off. I feel quite rotten with it though, very bloated and nauseous. Am making a conscious effort to eat a healthier and lighter from today, and am going to go back to tracking my calories for a bit.

Zibb · 11/06/2025 11:48

@sweetpickle2 thank you. I know you are right. I think I am just angry with myself sometimes. This is my 3rd time losing this same 5 stone. Why couldn't I just keep it off the first time? I mean I know why and it's so complicated but I also can't forgive myself. I'm also at the weight where I always gave up before. I'd hit 80-84kg and it would start getting hard and I'd struggle and just give up and start gaining it all back.
I am currently struggling, finding it so hard to stay motivated to exercise and stick to my deficit. I was hoping smaller clothes might kick me into gear and spur me on.

I've still got about 25kg to go and it's really bloody hard even with mounjaro and I'm scared I'll just give up on myself again.

But I am trying to be positive and notice all the good changes about myself. I've noticed I'm getting collar bones and a jaw!

Yes I took it before I started mounjaro though. I take ancient and brave collagen and also I take their creatine powder too.

skyscrapersinging · 11/06/2025 14:54

@PandaPeacock yes, I’ve added creatine to the plethora of other supplements I’m now taking. Not sure if it’s doing anything, but it can’t hurt. Also not v £ for a bag of it, so will just keep using it and hope it’s improving my muscle mass and recovery.

Mounjaroday · 11/06/2025 16:38

@Zibb you’re doing so well!! A very wise person (you) rightly gave my head a wobble a couple of days ago. We have GOT this. We totally have! xx

Hello everyone, I've been following as a lurker since the first of these threads and finally decided to join in! Started on Jan 31st at 200lb, now 165lbs and on about 6mgs as 7.5 was making me deathly ill. Decided to go up to the full 7.5 for the next pen, which is after this next Golden Dose though, as I have lost less than a whole pound in 3 weeks.
@Zibb and @MynameisJune I have no idea what is going on with clothing sizes as I can only just now start to squeeze into 14 around the lower half, and I am still in a 16 around the top. I bought some denim, & cord dresses in a 16 from Vinted, and they barely went around me, and I have to go back to buying in 18. Depressing as that is the size I started at. I simply can't get the Girls into a lower size still in most clothes!

One thing I have not found altered has been my alcohol drinking ability, so I have finally decided to put a teetotal no-go zone in to see if that make a difference. I was already a pretty low carber before starting this, and I don't eat bread, pasta, rice, etc anyway. Enough from me, I'm taking the dog for a walk in the sunshine!

parfaitamour · 11/06/2025 16:57

Oh, should add, mid 50's, 5' 6, and not yet into menopause. So that gives you an idea of idea of how messed up my stats are!

Zibb · 11/06/2025 18:02

Thanks @Mounjaroday . You're right. We've got this!

Mounjaroday · 11/06/2025 18:27

MynameisJune · 11/06/2025 18:43

@parfaitamourwelcome! I’m 5’8 maybe 5’9 on a good day, I’m 164lb as of Monday this week, my size 12 jeans fit with room and I can get in anything from a 16-10 in tops 🤪 but my boobs are virtually nonexistent after bf’ing two children for combined 6yrs 🙈

I have a size 10 dress from Nobody’s child via Vinted that just about does up but not quite yet and then I have another dress from them that’s brand new in a 12 that’s snug.

So even within the same brand sizing is just messed up.

usedtobeaylis · 11/06/2025 19:22

I'm averaging 2lbs loss per week and I'm at the point where I feel like I need to see a solid difference here. Ever since I saw that picture of myself and realised why nobody else has noticed I'm wondering where exactly I've lost it from and when my shape will change.

Do you feel up to posting a before and now photo on here? I'm certain there is a proper difference that we can see but you just cant see it yourself and people in general have got wary about mentioning weight.
Also welcome @parfaitamour , glad you joined in.
