Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

Jab day for me!

Another maintain- I have been eating what I would consider "normally" over the past two weeks ie not worrying about what I'm eating, enjoying a takeaway etc. Honestly if I can do that and continue to maintain my GW I'm happy!

I definitely won't make it to my new arbitrary GW before I start to taper down so I'm just removing that as a goal.

SW 107.8kg
CW 88kg
GW 88kg

My new goal is to just continue to maintain that! I have one more jab of this 7.5mg pen (my 2nd) then I am going to move down to 5mg and then 2.5mg for as long as I need.

Zibb · 09/06/2025 11:22

I did 3.75mg in my thigh on Saturday night and holy moly I can't eat a thing. Was full after half an apple. This hasn't happened to me before. I always thought people were all being dramatic when they said similar 😂

I did my thigh once before at 2.5 and it felt like it had no effect so I was always superstitious about doing it again. I'm sure it's just coincidence but...

Spent the last 2 weeks bouncing around 85kg, really want to finally see 84kg this week! I've really fallen behind on reaching my goals, was supposed to be 83kg today if I had stuck to my plan but I did have a week at maintenance.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 09/06/2025 15:17

Today I'm officially 3 and a half stone down since January. I've lost 2 and half on mj and a stone before starting.

The way I was eating I thought I might n ed to go up a dose. However I changed my mind, I jabbed 5mg. It's clearly working even if I'm not convinced it is 😂

I go away on holiday next week and I'm planning on not taking my pen with me. Hopefully I can make good choices whilst there. Going to jab before I go and then as soon as I get back.

OntheTrainX · 09/06/2025 20:29

First 7.5 dose today. Very much hoping for the level of suppressn I got back in February to return. I want to get off this BMI 28 plateau.

Mounjaroday · 09/06/2025 21:36

How we doing everyone? Anyone fancy doing a sort of ‘recipe week’ type thing?

I’ve become a bit addicted to chicken Caesar salad recently. Always with extra anchovies! So delicious, cheap as anything and super easy.

Also craving pickled beetroot with a dab of crème fraiche and horseradish. Might have that tomorrow with strips of steak and lots of rocket.

We may not be eating a lot but we still gotta eat! So, what’s on the menu, warriors? … would love some inspiration!

My sis is now gluten free. She has ibs and very skinny to me anyway and nephew who's celiac. She makes chicken and chorizo pasta it's amazing with onions and peppers. Little cream cheese and I've gone from tomato and bazil to tomato and chilli it's amazing and the pasta is so much bigger than normal pasta and tastes nice.

Mounjaroday · 09/06/2025 21:47

Sounds yum. Assume your sis uses gluten free pasta - not sure I have ever had that tbh!

CoolLimeSheep · 09/06/2025 21:50

Hahaa! So weird they are my default meals too ( with Fast 800 as well as MJ).

I’ve been recently obsessed with Chinese/ Cajun flavoured pork shoulder steaks and ribs with a bit of veg. Just bung in the air fryer.

I’ve only lost a stone since February but not actually trying. Unfortunately running out of funds now so sadly stopping after this one. Hopefully now I’ve lost a bit I can refocus and make the effort on my own.

Mounjaroday · 09/06/2025 22:01

Ooh I love Fast 800!

The beef rendang is a particular favourite we go back to again and again.

Also, the berry compote made with dates. My youngest eats it by the gallon with yoghurt.

I eat a lot of Asian food. Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese etc. I also make a lot of Indian food and have an Indian restaurant style cookbook, which are mostly super healthy because I add hardly any oil. Dhal is great to get the pulses in. I'm also gluten free and I always feel like I am missing out on some of the varieties of pasta as they mostly only do basic types. But Tesco now do GF orzo, which I absolutely love. It ends up like a super quick risotto! I have a nice orzo recipe with 'nduya in it. 'Nduja has to be one of my favourite foods and luckily you don't need much of it as it's quite high in fat. Otherwise it's only 470 calories a portion.

Ramen is also a favourite at the moment and also low fat/healthy. Super quick and easy to make as well, I love it. I might do pho soon too, I haven't made that for ages.

Luckily my ability eat spice hasn't changed, but I noticed I struggle with high fat pieces of meat I haven't been ill, just if I get anything too fatty in my mouth it tastes rank and I have to spit it out (I mean meat with actual fat in it, not the 'nduya or real butter for example).

Mounjaroday · 09/06/2025 22:33

Never made a ramen although like it a lot. DH doesn’t consider anything that resembles soup as a proper meal, so it’s fallen off the radar!

Maybe wean him onto those sorts of meals with a laksa first maybe?

Mounjaroday · 09/06/2025 22:50

Haha that is fantastic plan @PurpleCoo!

We have a combination of dietary issues in our family so our meals tend to be a bit buffet style which actually works quite well for me as I try to lose weight - also gives us left overs for salads for lunch.

Yesterday it was Middle Eastern themed:

Salad platter with cucumber, tomato, olives, parsley, spring onions

Protein options - ful muddamas, hummus, chicken drumsticks, halloumi

Carbs - couscous

Sauce - tahini sauce made with tahini/lemon/soy sauce and honey

I will then make up a salad for the next day for lunch from the various left over components and/or recycle elements into the next meal.

SpiralSister · 10/06/2025 08:21

I was just thinking about some recipe sharing!

I think I’ve mentioned this on an earlier thread, but my go to is whole grain and veg:

Boil some whole grain (barley, rye, emmer or spelt - spelt is my favourite). You can do this in water, stock, or most nutritious of all, bone broth. I do 100g at a time which lasts for at least 3/4 meals. Before MJ, I could easily eat 100g in one go. See, healthy but too much.

Roast a big tray of vegetables - whatever you have and is in season - courgettes, aubergine, peppers, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, whatever. Plus red onions and garlic. Add woody herbs, again whatever is to hand - thyme, rosemary, bay. Dried will work. Squeeze half a lemon in and chuck in the shell. Drizzle with olive oil, mix thoroughly and roast until soft and caramelised at the edges.

Remove woody herbs and lemon shell, and mix in the grain. Serve yourself a portion as appetite dictates and top with a protein. Suggestions - leftover cooked chicken, smoked fish, feta, cottage cheese, hummus, Greek yogurt with or without a swirl of harissa, etc. Top with nuts and seeds. Salad leaves on side. Also good cold or reheated next day.

Bloody lovely, cheap, easy and nutritious.

Mounjaroday · 10/06/2025 09:11

Will give the grains a whirl @SpiralSister. We often do roasted veg, so a great addition I hadn’t considered.

We sometimes do pan fried aubergines drizzled with a mix of garlic, pomegranate molasses, pomegranate, Greek yoghurt, red wine vinegar and mint. The grains would be good for that too maybe. (With lamb on the side for rest of the family).

@Febnewbie had to google ful muddamas: yum. Buffet style is a great idea.

SpiralSister · 10/06/2025 09:45

That sounds lush, @Mounjaroday - love aubergines. Grains would def go with. Good way to get some healthy carbs in, not to mention the fibre. Should you be in, ahem, need at any point! 😀

WoolerOwl · 10/06/2025 09:49

Wearing my new 34DD bra from Vinted today, instead of one of the old 36Es that were feeling very baggy. It's the small victories!

Mounjaroday · 10/06/2025 10:03

Nice one@WoolerOwl! Maybe after ‘Recipe Week’ we do NSV week. Quite fancy a style week at some point too.

Weigh day for me.
W20 D1 (on 7.5mg)
SW 103.9kg
CW 80.7kg

1.5lb loss this week. Annoyingly I bounced back up a bit, after the euphoria of hitting 79.8kg a few days ago. Will get firmly into the 70s this week I’m sure, and should hit a clear 4 stone loss over this new batch of jabs. That is just wild! 🤪

Is there anything worse than seeing a photo of yourself from a day you actually felt ok about yourself, and you realise you looked like a sausage 😬

Feel quite embarrassed by by how fat I looked which is a bit unlike me tbh, usually I don't care so much but the fact that I actually felt ok on that day embarrasses me.

Need to shift this four stone!

Ke11 · 10/06/2025 10:39

@usedtobeaylis I've always hated seeing pictures of myself, I don't see the image as me and I always stick out and immediately draw the eye as "the fat one". My dad has a picture up of me and him at his wedding a few years ago and I can't even make eye contact with it.

I'm hoping as time goes on I'll settle into my new mental image and be more accepting of pictures. I still can't really accurately judge my smaller physical dimensions but I definitely feel it in work chairs, cinema seats etc

PerditionCatchMySoul · 10/06/2025 10:53

Yummy all this food sounds great! I used to love cooking and new recipes , but MJ has kind of taken the joy and shine off delicious food for me for the moment….

Mounjaroday · 10/06/2025 11:08

God, TOTALLY @usedtobeaylis. Was searching for photos of myself from pre MJ recently. The difference is absolutely unreal tbh. I used to inwardly call myself Jabba the Hutt … but I’m not doing that anymore. I’m not being so bloody mean about myself!! 😂

Contributing to the recipe sharing, rather than just boasting about my new bra size . . . I made a big pot of daal with onions, spices, lentils, stock, fresh coriander and coconut milk, and froze it in portions. I take them out when I'm eating alone, eg if everyone else is out, and they are so much better than ordering takeaway or eating junk.
