Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

I'm averaging 2lbs loss per week and I'm at the point where I feel like I need to see a solid difference here. Ever since I saw that picture of myself and realised why nobody else has noticed I'm wondering where exactly I've lost it from and when my shape will change.

You've probably lost lots of visceral fat which is a major win tbh!

But also I bet you do look different! Nobody says anything because it's not really the done thing anymore to comment on people's bodies. So they'll have noticed but keep it to themselves.
I've lost 5st and nobody says a word about it. Not even people I haven't seen since December/January. I had a few comments around the 3st point but that's it.

Are you recording your measurements? That can be very helpful.

But the most important thing is are you feeling better? You should be proud of how far you've come.

OntheTrainX · 11/06/2025 20:48

Welcome @parfaitamour !

I agree with Zibb, people are reluctant to comment on others’ weight. It’s seen as discourteous now. And unless you know the person very well, you never know if it’s due to something like illness or bereavement.

Totally agree - I think people are worried to say anything in case they offend. I've lost 4 stone and though I don't feel any different I know I do look much thinner than I was at the beginning of the year.
It took a long time for one of my colleagues to comment, but I think after I responded positivley it opened the floodgates and now everyone keeps mentioning it.
There are a couple of girls at work that are on WLI so I am sure that some people suspect that I am too.

CoolLimeSheep · 11/06/2025 23:58

I can relate no1 mentions alot none of my colleagues even mentioned my hair and I am now blonde highlights lol from brown. One colleague did say you need new clothes I was still wearing size 20 leggings 9 months on. I do before and after pics every month now well more like a collage took me so long to actually see a difference in myself I think we're so use to being big. I wouldn't look in a mirror for a long time. You will get there I still wear 1xl shirts but have gone down from 4xl. I do try not focus on the sizes but do obsess on scales which I need to stop.
Hope that helps

SpiralSister · 12/06/2025 07:13

Morning lovelies. Just thinking about the sizes thing. I notice it much more in clothes now. So I have 16’s that fit. 14’s that are too loose. 14’s that are too tight. I can see 12 over the horizon. So much variation.

When I was an 18-20, everything seemed to fit ok. Perhaps ‘fit’ in my mind meant ‘I can get it on’, rather than ‘that looks and feels great’.

As to people noticing, as I’m such a gobshite, they all know and comment, favourably. Although, one person I see regularly for hours at a time has somehow tuned me out (why on earth ?😂) and not noticed until the other day, seemingly:

’Have you lost weight??’ (disbelieving, slightly hostile)
’Yes. A lot actually’
’How??’
’Injections’ (couldn’t be arsed)

She’s doing it differently, apparently. Shame I’m now the slimmer one! (Evil genius laugh 😂)

Now, @Zibb , I see @Mounjaroday has already given you a gentle kick up the bum, but I echo it. Please be as kind to yourself as you are to us. I see you, Zibby! 💐

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 12/06/2025 07:22

I was at a big company meeting yesterday. At least 30‰ of the previously overweight women looking noticeably slimmer. I wish there was a secret handshake or something for those on wlis, not that even dh knows I'm taking them.

Then again maybe I can sus some out - Constipated and wearing a jacket because you are unexpectedly cold on a 25 degree day? Okay then 😁

Scales say I put on a lb this week. I know it's not true and I am expecting a whoosh. Either that or it's inflammation or possibly both...

Today I'll also take my last injection in a mj I've used for 60 days. It's been fine and I've had no issues at all. Just my experience though.

Febnewbie · 12/06/2025 07:25

@Nomoretopswithblacktrousers I have also seen the same thing - it's really nice to see other people's success, I find it really motivating. One of my colleagues really needs new trousers bless her, starting to look very clown pants!

SpiralSister · 12/06/2025 08:33

Me on a diet, before Mounjaro..

@Febnewbie Another key sign with a seeming reluctance to buy more clothes because they aren't done losing weight!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 12/06/2025 08:59

Does anyone else feel nauseous or have a headache on day 5 of mj? I know this is its half life but 🤷‍♂️

usedtobeaylis · 12/06/2025 09:14

Thank you for the responses. It's so odd to be 2.5 stone down but feeling so negative. I guess weight loss is a complex thing!

skyscrapersinging · 12/06/2025 09:16

@PandaPeacock @Sarahyorks also taking collagen! And a pro/pre biotic. The collagen has been amazing for my nails, if nothing else. And I think the prebiotic has helped with gut health and immunity, haven’t had a head cold in ages, where previously I would catch anything that was going.

WLINewbie · 12/06/2025 11:44

Hi Everyone

Week??? Day??? I'll need to look back at my last entry to see what week I'm on! Giving this maintenance thing a go, I've taken 1.25mg this week and not sure it's doing anything.

I'll start with the cons

  • The emptiness feeling/hunger pains have returned. This was, for me, the absolute best thing about MJ, not being starving after eating, not having those pains from my throat to my stomach as if they're totally empty. It's like the feeling you get after swimming but 100x worse. Admittedly it's not as bad but it's so annoying having your stomach rumble 30 mins after dinner, also very easy to forget I've eaten.
  • Having to dig that bit deeper to resist certain foods and overeating. I'm very glad I never went too full on with MJ, never sought full suppression, still ate proper meals and treats, still needed willpower. I think this would have been much harder if I was using the jab in a way I struggled to eat 800 cals.

Pros

  • My BMI is now around 23 and I hope to keep it around 22.5-24.
  • I feel generally more positive, like I can keep the weight off this time. I've not gone off the rails like I would have done before. I think I've developed some good habits over the past few months.
  • The idea of putting a few pounds on doesn't terrify me and I hope I'm now in a place where I'll now work to get them off again rather than throw the towel in. This is a biggie!

For anyone wondering, I am using a pen way past the 30 days. This is on me and I'm not recommending it to anyone else, it's a personal decision!

Mounjaroday · 12/06/2025 12:37

Thanks @WLINewbie … like looking into the future for us who are still on the journey! Appreciate that. Relieved to see more Pros than Cons.

Today I am officially closer to a ‘healthy’ BMI than ‘obese’ for the first time in years and years … putting in my application to join you and the rest of the maintenance crew soon!

-2lbs this week after staying the same for 4 weeks!

SW 17.3
CW 15.7

feel like im deflating tho! No loose skin but just not firm. Does skin ever return to being firm again over time?

FunnyCrabDance · 13/06/2025 08:32

@MissionToSize10 not sure if skin will ever firm up fully to how it was before, i guess some of that depends on age and genes, collogen levels etc, but the good news is I've seen a lot of people say skin carries on improving and tightening up for a year after weight loss ends, so there is hope we wont end up looking like delated balloons 🙂

Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse · 13/06/2025 09:10

Morning All,

Haven't been on for a couple of weeks as things been a bit hectic. Still going, am on 6.25mg getting ready to go up to 7.5mg. Have found that am doing ok, but have definitely found myself a bit more snackish, but as lots going on seem to be bouncing between not having time to eat and then just stuffing whatever i have time to manage in my mouth.

So stats so far -
Start date 1/02/2025
SW - 247.8 LB

Current Weight - 183.6lb

Total loss -64.2lb

Well im taking collagen and vitamins so along with a healthy diet and exercise, if it doesnt theres not much else i can do. Ill live with it. It wont be too bad/noticeable hopefully 🤞

MynameisJune · 13/06/2025 09:41

Slow weight loss will help with loose skin, but inevitably it’s unlikely to go back to how it would have been before weight gain.

The only thing that will fix loose skin is surgery to remove it.

SpiralSister · 13/06/2025 10:01

Morning! Been thinking about the whole ‘I really can’t be that size’ thing this morning that some people have also mentioned.

As in, I know I’m wearing a 14, but I’m fooling myself surely. These are just freakishly large jeans/tops/skirts/dresses. I’m still an 18, really.

Quite the mindfuck! So I measured myself which I hadn’t done since I started. I’ve lost 4 inches off my chest, 5.5 off my waist, and 5 off my hips.

So of course I’m loads smaller!! Just need to tell my brain..

Might be worth getting the tape measure out if you feel the same and haven’t done so already..💐

usedtobeaylis · 13/06/2025 10:09

I was thinking about 'the picture' again, the one where I look like a sausage, and actually I've lost 10lbs since then. So now I'm telling myself I don't look quite so sausage like any more and by the end of this month I should hopefully be a full stone down since then. I think one of the problems I have is that I don't know HOW to dress. Pre weight gain I had a specific 'style' - nothing special but I was happy with it. For the last 5 years all I've worn is the the fat uniform. I don't think I want to return to my old style, I need to find a new me.

Something else to think about is a good bra

I have been muddling along with bras and found one in my drawers which fits really well and I just look so much better in clothes when I wear it

That's a really good reminder. I think I might actually go and get properly measured this weekend.

I’m 3st down now and going for a bra fitting next week-be interesting to see what difference there is!

This!

I go into a changing room with a 14 and for a laugh a 12. And the 12 looks better! And I'm laughing at myself thinking " yeah, I'm not really fitting in a 12, it's just a fluke, and I'll be 14/16 really".
It really is hard to get your head around. And vest tops! I'm loving them and I would avoid them previously, like the plague, and I'm not criticising my arms in them. And it sounds daft, but it really does mess with your head a little.

I took 8.75mg last saturday and (after an early weigh in today) I'm 2.6lb down this week, not had a loss like that since my 2.5mg pen!!
