Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

@DidILeaveTheGasOn
fantastic idea! Let’s come up with those short term goals. I’m so Gail’s orientated that I sometimes switch between lbs/stone/kg just so I have loads of goals to hit! 🤣🤣🤣

notgonnafail · 17/06/2025 10:49

@HKG I'm doing the same... below each 10kg, below each 10lbs, each stone, each 10% of body fat, each 5cm off any body part etc all add up to lots of nice mini goals to celebrate along the way!

ChangeGem · 17/06/2025 10:57

Wk 4 on 2.5 taken today, and I’ve darned well put 2lbs on !!!
I moved about more last week, I was away a couple of days, but I don’t eat what I did
I will just have to try harder.
I don’t want to be one of the unlucky ones that this doesn’t work for.

Are you increasing your dose next week?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 17/06/2025 11:19

@hkg I took a screenshot of someone's goals on the 5 Stone or More to lose thread. I think I'm going to put this in excel and modify some for my goals. I think switching between units is a great idea.

I've just noticed my screenshot appears to have a copilot prompt behind that says, 'Make one with a goat' - what's that about! I don't have any particular interest in goats! 😀

FlorenceNightshade · 17/06/2025 11:34

Just checking in! Last jab I used the leftovers for an extra dose about 2.6mg so gone for a full 5mg out of my new pen today.

Week 1 loss 2.4kg
Week 2 loss 1.2kg
Week 3 loss 2.9kg
Week 4 loss 2 kg

That gives me an 8.5 kg loss out of one pen so I’m happy with that! I work shifts and my routine can be a bit all over the place so I’ve been trying to focus on strength training (bought a weighted vest 🙈) and getting more sleep!

Bit nervous about moving up as had basically no side effects but been feeling hungrier and keen to try the therapeutic dose now! If I regret it then next week I will go lower.

Loving hearing everyone’s updates, onwards and downwards ✌️

I’m struggling to read that from the photo. Was it a recent post?

notgonnafail · 17/06/2025 11:46

@ChangeGem Don't panic. If you were working out and busy then it will just be water, like I wrote further up the thread exercise, some things we eat, stress and hundreds of other variables will all make our bodies hold onto more water, and a weekly weigh ignores that most people have an 8-10 day weightloss cycle of ups, downs and staying the same, so daily weighing means you can pick up on that pattern for you, or monthly weighing can balance it out, but weekly means you can just catch yourself on the wrong day.

If you know you stuck to your plan and you were working out, don't panic. Just keep going and have faith in the process. You've got this x

This is genius! I love a spreadsheet as well so I’m going to do it too. Thank you!

Fatrosrhun · 17/06/2025 12:10

I think switching between measurements is good too.

im going to add a few of my animals in - I think I’ve already lost a cat and a bunny in weight. Next stop my little dog and then my lab! I need to weigh them all again.

ElsieJay · 17/06/2025 12:37

Checking in whilst I have access to WiFi, it’s a bit sporadic so afraid I haven’t read all the posts .
Waves 👋 to anyone who remembers me, lots of names on here I don’t recognise - welcome , and congrats all the losers!
It’s only been a week but feels longer (and four more to go) - that sounds very ungracious, but I’m losing control of my eating and panicking that all my hard work is going to unravel .
It’s also extremely hot, so not as much walking being done as I’d hoped.
Gosh , I’m irritating myself now ! - apologies.
Luckily lots of salad veg, and fruit - must have eaten my own weight in watermelon 🍉 already.
The red meat has been relentless , but we’re moving locations later and I should have more control over the food choices there . WiFi access unknown , so will hope for the best .
Onwards and downwards ( or possibly sideways …..) xx

Fatrosrhun · 17/06/2025 12:49

Hello! Sounds wonderful and not like you’re undoing anything. And if you put some weight on you’ll get it off again when you’re home- like a normal person would coming back from holiday…. Enjoy yourself!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 17/06/2025 12:57

@fatrosrhun I totally forgot about the list of animals! I need to find that and add those in too! Love it.
@ElsieJay lovely to hear from you! Try not to worry.

MyScaredCat · 17/06/2025 14:37

Focussing on non scale victories this week as I don’t think the scales will move at my weigh in tomorrow.
i had a meal out Friday, and then 2 Chinese takeaways over the weekend. Everything happened at once. I felt so ill Monday morning after eating it all Sunday night even though I didn’t really want it 🤦🏼‍♀️
I had lost 2lbs from last weeks weigh in until Friday, so if I can end up maintaining this week I may take that as a win.

I have just been shopping as I spotted an outfit I really wanted for my holiday. I bought a M, which blew my mind as I bought an XL not that long ago. If I’m honest the L was probably a slightly better fit. But I’ve 4 weeks to go and I’m hoping it keeps me motivated

@TreesOfGreen99i think the pharmaceuticals like to keep the schedule nice and simple to improve compliance. Once a week is nice and easy so people are less likely to forget.

I have been considering lowering the dose and taking every 5 days as I’m struggling with SE but also happy on a low dose as I’m loosing well. I’m going to see drs today to see if there is anything they can do to help side effects but I was due to inject yesterday but I’ll chat with the drs later and then decide.

i think you can set irregular calendar reminders in iPhones and there is a medication section on the health app where you can set things for different schedules, might help those on a different dosing schedule.

This makes so much sense . I took my first 5mg last Wednesday and I was just wiped out with exhaustion Thursday and Friday. I’m not sure what to do tomorrow . I seemed to be ok on 2.5 a week but wanted to move to a higher dose . I wonder if I did 2.5 tomorrow and then 2.5 Saturday that would be better.

since moving to 5 I’ve also noticed I feel like I have something in the back of my throat - I’ve read it can be quite common with acid reflux essentially which I’ve also had this week , along with burping a huge amount! so I’m not reading too much into it but if it doesn’t go il go get it checked . Not overly concerned about thyroid etc . Think chances are very slim of anything being wrong so to speak. Has anyone else had this ?

SussexLass87 · 17/06/2025 18:27

Random one - but just made this for the family dinner and it met the criteria of 1) will the goblins eat it? 2) is it healthy? 3) was it easy to make, as I just cannot be arsed with cooking since MJ!

Fiddled around with it and added handfuls of spinach and peppers at the end.

They've gobbled it up, and only one pan to wash for me. I added more spinach and salad for myself and it was yummy!

Haven't had anything like you're describing but following the chats about doses with interest. So much of the aim of levelling out the amount of MJ makes sense.

Sorry about the new SE! 🫣

This looks delicious and I love a one pan meal!

Apprenante · 17/06/2025 18:32

@Fatrosrhun I used the same needle for extracting and injecting. I don't think it hurt more than usual. Good luck!

Mounraine · 17/06/2025 19:38

Am I right in thinking the pen will give me 5 doses of 3.75mg? I.e. 5 x 45 clicks = 225 clicks of the 240 available?

FlorenceNightshade · 17/06/2025 20:23

@Mounraine this chart helped me. You are right that 45 out of a 5mg is 3.75mg

Mounraine · 17/06/2025 20:33

Sorry, I mean, am I right in thinking the pen will allow me 5 of these doses? I have a feeling I've asked this before and there was no definitive answer. But seeing as I somehow got a mystery extra 16 clicks from my last pen I'm going to try it.
So just ordered my first 5mg pen. £141. Gulp. This is adding up now. I need to be losing more than the 1 - 1.5lb a week I currently am.
