Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Health reasons for me too@SusanSHelit.
I'm menopausal. Have lots of aches and pains. I'm on blood pressure medication, I'm pre-diabetic and have raised cholesterol. So definitely doing this for health reasons, I cannot continue as I have been doing.

flameprincess · 01/06/2025 10:18

Joining in for June (hopefully). Ordered on Wednesday evening but have had 2 emails now saying delays due to stock issues so feeling a bit deflated as I just want to get going but they have my money now!

5ft4, 132kg

I have a lot to lose for my height, but would be happy even at a size 14.

SusanSHelit · 01/06/2025 10:32

@dietstartstmoz I probably should be on blood pressure medication really, it's always on the high side when I measure it in work but I (probably being in denial) put it down to stress. I work in acute medicine with some very very poorly patients and it genuinely is stressful, but probably not so stressful that my BP would as consistently high as it is. My feet always hurt, my back hurts, my knees hurt, my ankles are swollen and I haven't even hit 40 yet, something absolutely has to change. I will have plenty of nsv to celebrate along the way!

And as a little extra motivation, my cousin is getting married in August, if I can get down to just overweight by then I will be delighted

maddiemookins16mum · 01/06/2025 10:39

I took my first ever jab on Friday evening. I’m 13 stone 12 and 5ft 4. My goal by Christmas is to lose 3 stone. I’m excited and I think having taken it I’m fully embracing a healthier diet and more exercise. Yesterday I only ate a bowl of Fruit and fibre/semi skimmed milk, a ham and salad wholemeal wrap and a griddled chicken breast, salad and a smaller than usual portion of new potatoes (with a touch of butter instead of the usual chunk). Plus did 12000 steps. First weigh in is next Saturday morning.

UglyBastardFace · 01/06/2025 04:16

I'd like to join, will take my first 2.5mg injection Friday so any side effects I can deal with on the weekend.

5 ft 3
12 stone 6
3 stone to lose

I'm also taking my first injection on Friday for the same reasons @UglyBastardFace🤞🏻 for us!

Mounraine · 01/06/2025 10:47

A May-interloper here, but I would also recommend NutraCheck on the basis that's it's more reliable and UK-based than MFP. I paid the £20 annual subscription.

Spiers09 · 01/06/2025 10:55

Hi, would be nice to join for some support as I am not telling anyone. I am 2 weeks in on 2.5mg. Minimal side affects, apart from tiredness andI have lost 9lbs to date. 7lb first week, 2 lbs 2nd week. I have much more to lose than others on here though.
Height - 5.4
SW 18.10
CW 18.03
GW 12.07 (long way to go)

I have just re-ordered another month of 2.5mg, but noticed that my hunger is back the last couple of days after injecting on Thursday.. Hoping the suppression will kick back in as didn’t want to increase to 5mg yet if possible.

cigarsmokingwoman · 01/06/2025 11:03

hi I started today, hyper vigilant for any side effects, throat feels a bit dry but dont know if thats a side effect or because DD may have passed on her cold!

Gratefulgrape57 · 01/06/2025 12:35

So I took my first 2.5 on the 27th May.
SW 20st 6lb
6.1"
Hoping to get back to 14st.
First weigh in is Tuesday, but sneaked a look yesterday, 6lb down. Eating fruit for breakfast (and multi vitamins) shake for lunch and chicken breast, veg and small portion of rice for dinner. Snack are strawberries at the moment.

Good luck all

moremoremores · 01/06/2025 12:38

I am due my 2nd jab today, last week I did it in the evening but may do it earlier today.

Side effects last week - one night of indigestion & a few egg tasting burps. Are these the sulphur burps?

I didn't count calories last week as I wanted to just see what I craved/wanted & ate what I
fancied. I definitely couldn't eat large meals and would be sated after a slice of toast whereas before I could eat 2 slices and still want more. I did feel I craved sugar though particularly chocolate & ate quite a bit, but I am the week before my period and do normally eat/crave more this week.

Apart from the choc/sugar I didn't really think about food which was nice.

This week I will calorie count & aim to eat more balanced meals.

Booklover2021 · 01/06/2025 12:39

2 days now, yesterday my appetite was really suppressed, ended up having eggs, a protein bar then had a burger in a wholemeal wrap at a family BBQ. People kept offering me more food and usually I'd have had heaps but didn't even go for seconds or sides. Didn't then eat again.

Height 5ft7
SW 14 stone
GW 11 stone

Spinningplates22 · 01/06/2025 13:07

Hi
im new. Took my 1 st injection last Monday 28th. So thought I would join June group than the may one.

SW 12stone 8.
CW 12stone 3 !!! This mornings weight.
GW 10 stone 3.

Haven’t had any real SE. Like nausea toilet problems etc. but I have gone completely off Diet Coke (and I’m an addict) and not interested in my normal weekend wine. Also have been hungry but at meal times . No interest in snacking at all.

I’m debating moving my injection to Sundays. And doing it to night rather than tomorrow. As I’m feeling if major suppression is going to kick in I would rather that during the week.

how is everyone getting on

Xmasfairy86 · 01/06/2025 13:09

5ft 4
CW 105kg
GW 80kg - will be happy at that but ideally should be 70kg

first day today, no noticeable side effects, making myself eat as not hungry. Can’t tell if that’s fact or in my head 😂😂😂

dietstartstmoz · 01/06/2025 13:30

I have just had an omelette for lunch. 2 eggs, some ham and a few mushroom slices and I couldn't finish it.
Normally I would have scoffed it. Then crisps and probably something sweet afterwards. Very bad habits I know.
I can't quite believe the change today already.

katand2kits · 01/06/2025 13:46

Hopefully joining, I've just ordered my first dose, hope it is approved. I've got a lot to lose, probably about 5 stone.

FirstDayonthePlanet · 01/06/2025 13:49

Hi, my first dose arrives this week (weds) - it sounds like people are noticing the effect on appetite quite quickly after the first dose?

Paynoregard · 01/06/2025 14:01

First dose yesterday, the suppression has already kicked in. Starting weight 14st 5. I hit 15st a month go and lost 9lbs by following my eating plan in preparation for staying the injection. Good luck everyone!

Yes, for me I took it before bed and woke up feeling STUFFED in the night. My last supper was still very much there…. 😳

Paynoregard · 01/06/2025 15:09

I know I should know the answer to this but I’ll ask anyway! My TDEE is 1200. If I eat 1200 but burn off say 200 with a walk, will this negatively impact my loss - do I need to eat another 200 or is the fact I’ve eaten 1200 the important bit?

Thornrose · 01/06/2025 15:31

This is all so new to me. I've only vaguely calorie counted and dabbled with low carb.

How the heck am I going to eat that much protein a day! I have bone broth which I could drink 2 cups a day I guess.

It feels like it's going to be expensive too!

It's up to you if you "eat back exercise calories". 1200 is low. How tall are you?

moremoremores · 01/06/2025 15:47

The protein is a struggle for me. I've had 2 eggs for breakfast & a salmon fillet for lunch and I'm tracking at 38g

I'm going through the kitchen cupboards checking protein of everything!

I love making dhal and I could add tofu.

I really don't want to eat a lot of meat,
although I love fish.

moremoremores · 01/06/2025 15:54

I also find it a struggle to eat a decent amount of protein & fibre, I only seem able to achieve one or the other. Not a massive bean fan!

moremoremores · 01/06/2025 16:00

Ooh one thing that I have noticed is I can eat a biscuit & not devour the whole pack which is amazing.
