Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

W2, D3 and that Time of the month has struck and not even the mighty Mourjano can get rid of the food noise . Aaahhh has this happened to anyone else? It's 5.30pm and I've already eaten my chicken , veg and rice dinner but still hungry. Tempted to just go and get in bed! 3l of water gone already after trying to suppress the hunger.

moremoremores · 10/06/2025 17:44

@Samilaa99 I was due on in my first week & didn't track food but definitely still had insane sugar cravings

TOP TIP

morning jabbers

I was reading the November Mounjaro thread and they recommend using the Me360 app to scan and record your dimensions so you can compare in the weeks and months to come. Handy if you plateau but are looking for non scale victories.

the app is free (as long as you don’t subscribe to premium)

I thought it was a great idea to do this now while we are at the start of our weight loss journey.

Have a great day!

Christ that was eye opening. Might have one lettuce leaf for dinner 😂

It' feels so strange as the last 9 days I've had good suppression and got full really quickly, now I'm scared I coud easily undo all my hard work so far 🙈

Hi everyone! Just found this thread, my jabs arrived today and I'm so nervous! Want to take the first dose right away, also shitting myself about it 😂 scared of needles, scared of air bubbles in there (?! great irrational fears), scared of side effects.. but know I need to do it for me and my health! 🙏

I think lots (most?!) of us have been where you are @Looby99! It feels scary, but I was then looking forwards to my second jab as I could t believe how much it worked! I’ve been lucky with minimal side effects. I did feel overly alert after the first jab but that seems to have worn off (and I wondered if that’s what being on speed feels like!).

I am W2D6 and starting to feel a little bit hungrier but sticking to low carbs and trying to hit 10,000 steps a day. I am really unsure as to whether I should order 5mg for the next pen or stick on 2.5mg as we go away mid-July and I don’t want side effects on the 6 hour drive down to Wales…!

Is anyone else thinking of not increasing the dose? We are also away end of August so if I don’t go up for July I feel like I should stick to the same for August as we’re flying for that trip.

I should have started 2 months ago I now feel!!

I'm debating staying at the same dose for next month. I've only just done my second jab, but feeling good suppression, minimal side effects, had a good loss last week and by the end of wk1 the suppression had worn off a little but will power kept me through. I think that'll be what we deal with as we wean off once we've got to goal, so good to get used to that feeling from the get to. If I find suppression dying off a bit next week I might consider 5 or go 3.75mg, but not keen on jumping right to 5.

Any one get the shakes ? I don't. First thing in the morning then in afternoon. I'm not diabetic.

Tummy bloated.
2nd jab due tomorrow

theaveragewife · 10/06/2025 19:32

I have been shaky a couple of times, generally when not eating enough and trying to do something physical like a bike ride, or netball.

EmJ1989 · 10/06/2025 19:49

Evening
W1D5, I injected last week on my stomach in one of the very few spaces where I don’t have stretch marks. Does anyone inject in the thigh and have a different/better effect? Struggling to find spaces on my stomach 😞

I'm eating enough. Comes on if Ive been resting or after exercise.. it's weird

Xmasfairy86 · 10/06/2025 20:33

@Samilaa99 yes! Due on soon and as very snack happy today. Like nothings changed!

hoping I can somehow limit any damage done

Fatrosrhun · 10/06/2025 20:37

Can you not just snack on fruit or veg then it’s not an issue? Grapes are my go to since I started MJ.

So glad it's not just me, thank you. I've not read it previously from anyone else and thought I was broken!

I've had my first of grapes this past week, and already had an apple and a banana, have to watch the sugars in them despite being healthy. It's more that I'm hungry and I haven't been since my 1st jab 🤦‍♀️

I just started today. We're at the same stage.

I went to a pharmacy in person and I'm glad I did. Took my first dose while I was there so I feel confident with the pen.

I haven't been hungry at all today.

That's such a good idea going to the pharmacy! I've taken mine now too, I had my partner do it for me and my neighbour came round to hold my hand lol! I'm such a wuss. I'm glad it's done now and excited to see how the week goes. Good luck with your first week!

Thanks very much. I have to say, I didn't even feel the injection, but that's probably because the adrenaline was running.

Good luck to you too. 😊

W2D1

Did my second jab yesterday evening rather than waiting until today. Definitely suits me better doing before bed as I'm not obsessing over what could and couldn't be a reaction (though I'm sure this anxiety will wane as the weeks roll by)

Did weigh in, down 2.2kg which I'm happy with considering I feel bloated from my period (nearly didn't weigh myself at all) I have a LOT to lose

SW: 132.4kg
CW: 130.2kg

I also do weightlifting 2-3 times a week and praying this helps with loose skin (but probably kidding myself)

Really struggling with my protein, I'm averaging around 90g which isn't enough for my weight and level of activity, but I really dislike protein shakes. Anyone tried the flavourless stuff or the protein waters?

Xmasfairy86 · 10/06/2025 22:20

@flameprincess i drink the clear whey, and get on well with it. More like a squash than shake. Just got the mixed selection from my protein so I can try a variety of flavours

PloopDeck · 10/06/2025 22:46

W1D5 Just checking in - still no side effects for me. The suppression seems to come and go for me.. yesterday I had to use will power to not snack, but I’ve not had any slip ups, or where I’d be disappointed in myself. Need to focus more on how to include more protein in my diet - read it’s about 110g a day and I’m averaging about 50g, with protein yoghurts and porridge etc. Are shakes the way to go?

BigLifeChange · 10/06/2025 23:36

ArwenStewQueen · 29/05/2025 10:58

Also - massive needlephobe so really not looking forward to that part - pls tell me it’s not as bad as I’m envisioning 🙈

The needle is tiny and you really do not feel it at all.

ThisNeedsToWork · 10/06/2025 23:46

I think I’ll try a protein shake tomorrow. Really worried I’m not getting enough calories esp protein based so I’m going to try and up it tomorrow. I don’t really like protein shakes but I can just about tolerate the odd one. They’re just so thick and gloopy.
I’m keeping everything crossed that suppression carries on through the week and I don’t feel ravenous by 3pm.

Re all you ladies on your period, I read something saying your second or third period whilst on the drugs can be a bit off kilter-maybe early or heavier etc. Apparently it’s because when you lose weight, it affects your hormones. It mentioned how one woman thought she was through menopause but her periods came back with a vengeance after 2 or 3 months on the drugs.

Mousetail · 10/06/2025 23:54

W2 D5, was getting on so well, no side effects, and today I've had explosive diarrhea (tmi). I know it is a common enough SE, but I hope it subsides as it was awful.

OhMyEarsAndWhiskers · 11/06/2025 05:27

W2 D5 and I've been able to cease my blood pressure medication. I've gone from mild hypertension on the tablets to a healthy BP in two weeks after losing 3% of my bodyweight. I started the year with incredibly high, likely to have a stroke, hypertension and now it's normal again. Can't believe it really.
