Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

W1D5 and I am feeling hungry. BUT no food noise. I can just feel it in my stomach that I am hungry, but I don’t really fancy eating anything.
I tried some Daylesford Chicken Bone Broth with ginger and greens from M&S and it was revolting, and really expensive.
Am having chicken and pesto pasta for tea (I’ll be going easy on the actual pasta though).
Lost 9lb so far this week!

Iv lost my way a little bit , the food noise came back on day 5 and I wasn't feeling great either. day 6 some glands have come up under my chin/jaw area and I feel so tired . Yesterday I took my second injection and didn't eat all day and ordered chips cheese and gravy because of how poorly I was but couldn't manage to eat it , I'm also getting some period type cramps but I'm not sure if that's due to the womb surgery I had just over a week ago or not has anyone else come down with any of these symptoms?

It’s likely you are coming down with something. If cramps get worse or develop a fever see your GP.

ArwenStewQueen · 06/06/2025 17:25

I had more come out of mine today as well! More like a squirt than the first time which was a drop 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks @ArwenStewQueen maybe the second dose is always different to the first then on that type of thing!

UglyBastardFace · 06/06/2025 18:51

I was going to start with my first injection today but have been invited to a lunch tomorrow so delaying the injection until I ger back. Feel a bit cowardly but know I have to start by tomorrow.

@Thornrose good luck with the jab today!

Xmasfairy86 · 06/06/2025 19:11

We’ve just had a Chinese to celebrate a birthday, probably not my finest choice the night before weigh in 🤦🏽‍♀️ but it is what it is, I only ordered one dish and no side.

less suppression today

shifting12345 · 06/06/2025 19:11

Mine arrived today so going to do it with DH after the kids have gone to bed!

Did they know you were on weight loss injections at the hospital that operated on you? Do you think you need to check in with them or with whoever prescribed the MJ?

shifting12345 · 06/06/2025 21:09

DH says we shouldn’t do it tonight as we’re out all day Sunday on trains etc in case we aren’t quite, erm, feeling ourselves.

How has everyone gotten on with side effects so far?

That probably makes sense, I mean you might be lucky and not have any, or light ones, but is it worth the risk?

I'm W1 D4 and I've felt absolutely fine. I did it in the evening to sleep through any initial effects. The main thing I've felt is freezing cold, and a bit tired (but that could be down to the lower cals and lack of carbs too). Haven't had nausea or headaches, and the loo has been fine, so pretty lucky. I have felt really full after some meals (even small ones) and have found that a half hour walk has made me feel heaps better.

Hope that helps, good luck to you and the Mr! Is it Sun eve now then?

flameprincess · 06/06/2025 21:15

W1D4 Feeling... ravenous today. Not good!
But also I have been super busy with work and not drank as much water as I have been chugging on previous days.

Still managed to stay on plan and not go over my calories but really wanted to stuff my face this evening 🙃

No issues at all. Honestly had a brilliant week x

Booklover2021 · 06/06/2025 21:46

Small win today. A week in and (I'm a teacher) a parent came over and asked if I was trying to lose weight cause he could see the difference! Absolutely made up!

Mamafromthebeach · 06/06/2025 21:57

W1D5 - still feeling pretty good. A little constipated so will start to be diligent with the Metamucil and prunes! Last night I had a glass of wine (in Australia so morning after here!). It was so weird - I enjoyed it but finished my glass and then thought - no I don’t want another. Last Friday night I would have had the bottle. I am so pleased with that side effect alone!

Long weekend here and have a few social things on - hopefully all will be ok.

Enjoy your weekend all June starters!

Thornrose · 06/06/2025 22:25

@UglyBastardFace I have put it off for tonight. I have my dd staying overnight, she's 25 and has autism. I panicked that I would have side effects and she would be worried.

I am massively stressing about side effects. I've been a big drinker, which I really want to change! I've got into my head that I'll get pancreatitis. I've just got such a massive fear about taking that first step.

I think I'll try for tomorrow. I'm such an idiot.

OhMyEarsAndWhiskers · 06/06/2025 23:23

First week finished and I've 1.8kg (just under 4 pounds). So pleased. I only wish I'd done this earlier and not dithered about.

@Thornrose I so hear you. I worried about that too! I started Monday. I’ve felt tired but on the plus side I’ve slept better than I have in ages!

No other real side effects other than low appetite and not feeling the need to drink alcohol which is a bonus!

Go for it you won’t regret it x

UglyBastardFace · 07/06/2025 02:10

I hear you, I've also delayed my jab too. It is scary especially as part of me keeps thinking I could do this without this medication.

But I recall three things,:

  1. I haven't lost weight so far in the 5 years I've been clinically obese, so any help is good.

  2. I asked my GP about possible side effects of WLI and he said "the actual side effects of obesity are far worse."

  3. if I remain obese I will almost certainly need medication for associated complications that carry their very own risk.

Ultimately I am trying to prolong my own life so I don't get diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease (all of which I am at risk of). These diseases are killers and if this injection helps, I will give it a go.

Whatever you decide I wish you the best but know your feelings are completely understandable. Feeling nervous, worried before you start is something I and others on this thread have experienced..

UglyBastardFace · 07/06/2025 02:12

@Thornrose Sorry the message above was for you (my quote message did not work!(

UglyBastardFace · 07/06/2025 02:28

@Thornrose I plan to do my first injection today at 8pm. I will post here just before I do. If you want to take the plunge at the same time, feel free!

@Thornrose completely agree with this. I was prescribed last November and have sat on the script since. I recently had investigations for womb cancer - where obesity is a high risk factor. Gave me the impetus to visit my dr again and start.

Best of luck with what you decide but please know many have the same fears and thoights.

Sunshin80 · 07/06/2025 05:58

Hi all, started last Sunday 1st. Weighed in today at 13st 13lbs. Start weight was 14st 5lbs. Have had a good week with suppression and no snacking, kept water intake as high as I could, no side effects so I'm hoping that continues. Due to jab again tomorrow. I really hope I have a good week next week too. Well done to everyone so far. I feel setting myself small goals at first, rather than saying my target weight is 10 stone (even though it is) I'm setting my sights on 12st for now. Wow this feels like there's a long road ahead and I have to keep myself focused, its like I just want it now. It's nice to have a place to share. xx

Tinybirdie · 07/06/2025 06:00

W2 D1 after a good loss. Had my second jag yesterday and I've woken up starving. Yikes! What's happened to my suppression. Hope it comes back!

SW 13 stone 8
CW 13 stone
TW 10 stone

Sunshin80 · 07/06/2025 06:00

Also interested to see how my first weekend goes as normally in the week isn't too bad, its the weekends that are the hardest, boredom kicks in and the children are off school. I have 1 child with additional needs and another heading the same way. It's hard not to console myself with eating if that makes sense. As if it's my only source of comfort. Hoping the suppression continues on day 6 xx

I massively worried about looking after my 2 with Autism, they are alot younger 9 and 6. I'm here alone during the week so it played on my mind alot. However I bite the bullet and did it last weekend as I thought they are at school the majority of the week. Lighter nights make me feel there is someone always pottering around nearby either in the garden or what ever and don't feel so lonely. Then the thought of being obese v these side effects. The phrase you won't make old bones if you carry-on always sticks with me. Good luck keep us posted how you get on xx

Tinybirdie · 07/06/2025 07:20

I spoke too soon! Got up and half way through my kefir drink I thought I was going to throw up! Thought of food is turning my stomach!

Mounjaro definitely impacts my sleep. I've only managed 2 hours. Bad sleep isn't unusual for me, but I usually manage more than 2 hours.

Only other issue is constipation. Even adding psyllium husk hasn't improved things. One unsatisfactory poop in the past week!
