Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

For a start you’d need 7 times as many needles!

My first thought was number of needles

What are you all having for lunch? Lunches always get in my head and are always my downfall because i think about it too much, worry about what to have and then end up either always thinking about food or bingeing. Would love to know what other people have

The key is plan ahead. It sort of removes the ‘I need to think about food’ aspect. I’ve been making a salad before work (I WFH)with protein, so there is currently a small bowl in my fridge with rocket, sliced cucumber, spinach, a slice of chopped up ham and a sliced boiled egg.

I’ve also been having the ‘flavoured’ Ryvita crackers with soft cheese and sliced cucumber and Turkey slices.

moremoremores · 03/06/2025 11:53

I had salmon salad yesterday with cheese and veg. Having chicken salad today with some potatoes.

flameprincess · 03/06/2025 12:02

Jab arrived today. The instructions completely flummoxed me tbh but when I watched a video it made sense. Didn't feel a thing going in which surprised me, I'm feeling a little nauseous but I reckon that's more down to the nerves than anything else.

I've heard injecting at night is pretty good as you can sleep through many of the initial symptoms but I was way too impatient I just want to get going.

Fatrosrhun · 03/06/2025 12:02

I usually have salad with cubes of feta, pumpkin seeds and pine nuts in a little balsamic vinegar. With a small slice of seeded whole meal bread.

For anyone struggling with protein, there was a section of the BBC1 morning programme this morning, about 10am, talking about good d and purges. It will be on iPlayer. Sorry I can’t be more exact, I was sorting my mum out.

Lavenderosemary · 03/06/2025 12:07

Ah - I haven't actually seen my due-to-arrive-any-minute monjaro yet, so I guess I'm visualising how the pen works wrongly!

SomethingAboutYou · 03/06/2025 12:58

I've been having either a salad with ham/chicken or a sandwich for lunch. I tried the Huel protein shake for the first time yesterday. I opted for the black chocolate one, it tasted ok and it was quite a lot to finish the bottle. I was full all afternoon and didn't even consider a snack.

On the whole I have still been feeling peckish and do get hungry before meals but I haven't snacked as much. Not sure if its MJ helping reduce the food noise or if I'm just determined not to waste ££s! The calorie counter on MFP tells me I was under my daily goal yesterday (1600 cals) and I didn't feel particularly hungry at bedtime so left it. I was easily eating 2500-3000 a day before so something's working! (W1D4)

Hi all! Great to see everyone sharing their stories. Hope those with side effects settle down soon.

I’m either W1 D6 or W1 D5… are people including jab day? I’m confused and bad at maths 😂

Suppression has eased off nicely, I’m managing to stick to my meals and make good decisions but definitely feeling more hunger which is actually refreshing and I hope a good thing as it will help me learn good habits. Day 1+2 were a struggling of force feeding myself!

No side effects here, my night sweats appeared to be down to still having a 13.5 tog duvet on😂

How is everyone getting protein in? I’ve had two boiled eggs, fridge raiders and Greek yoghurt today and only at just over 40 grams. Aiming for around 110 grams! I don’t like protein shakes, apart from the hurl pre-bottled ones you can buy from the supermarket but at over £3 a pop, I can’t afford that long term.

For protein I really recommend the clear whey. More like a squash than shake. No nasty protein taste 😂

my protein do some lovely flavours

SomethingAboutYou · 03/06/2025 13:34

I add a few sunflower and pumpkin seeds to my salads and yoghurt to give it a protein boost. It's not a lot but it all adds up throughout the day.

OhMyEarsAndWhiskers · 03/06/2025 13:41

I’m on W1 D4 now. I have less suppression now but I’m still able to notice and dismiss the urge to eat when I’m not hungry. I used to binge eat at night out of tiredness and boredom and that has completely stopped. After struggling so long to stop and failing over and over, this feels like a revelation.

cigarsmokingwoman · 03/06/2025 13:45

intersting that people report going off diet coke, I haven't had a single one since jabbing and I'm currently on w1d3. My appetite seems the same although I'm eating less but that's consciously not because my body is making me do it.

Tinybirdie · 03/06/2025 13:45

Loveacrumpet · 03/06/2025 11:45

I’ve still got a bad tummy! I’ve had to work from home. I’ve taken 4 Imodium & not done much. Even a sip of water sets it off again.

Oh no! Hopefully the loperamide kicks in soon. I've not pooped for 4 days but that's not unusual!

Tinybirdie · 03/06/2025 13:47

W1 d4 (I don't count jab day)
Feel freezing cold. Sleep is absolutely the pits. Still quite high suppression.
I'm off for a bath to warm up. Feel like putting the heating on!!

Today I'm having scrambled tofu with loads of veggies and a small baked sweet potato. What little suppression I had is wearing off and it was a massive plate of food for a small amount of calories plus it is upping my protein.

Me too. and pine nuts. I add chia seeds and pumpkin seeds to my fruit and Greek yogurt too. I seem to hit the target daily. I really don’t want to be eating processed things, including the protein shakes. That’s just me. I want to retrain to healthy food. It’s worked so far. 9 lbs down after two weeks.

Sassy1968 · 03/06/2025 14:11

I am starting next week and would welcome a supportive chat thread!

Today I've had a salmon fillet with spices and some salad :)

I'm also planning Tuna and Ryvita things crackers, toast and scrambled egg. Omelettes etc.

Hope that helps :)

Loveacrumpet · 03/06/2025 14:24

Seems to be ok at last

The MyProtein clear whey isolate is good as it's just like drinking diluting juice (or squash if you aren't Scottish 😂). It's about 80cals a portion, 20g protein. There's different flavours, I've got a vimto one to try.

I’ve had the same lunch all week as I don’t need to think about it and I know the kcals/protein (plus it’s yum!) It’s a low fat Greek salad with chicken
1/4 cucumber, deseeded and chopped
8 cherry toms, chopped
10 black olives
100g half fat feta
1tsp olive oil
Then four little chicken mini fillets (frozen from Aldi)

About 450kcals and 60g protein- but still feels very light!

Xmasfairy86 · 03/06/2025 15:20

I’ve had a jacket potato with tuna and salad. Topped with seeds

Morning, I’m W1 D4. Feel ok, I felt a bit achey yesterday plus mild headache. It could just be my imagination. We have cut our portion sizes and I did feel a bit peckish after dinner last night. I assume it’s possible to not actual eat enough on Mounjaro!!

I do wonder if the headaches are withdrawals from sugar or caffeine even. It's happened to me before when I have gone low cal diets. Hope it's a one off for you🙏

Rockfordpeach · 03/06/2025 16:16

Thank you for the lunch suggestions.

A tip from me from when i tried mounjaro last year. Symprove probiotic drink, very spendy but amazing against constipation.
Peppermint oil capsules for wind and to protect against sulphorous burps. Word of warning, it will make going for a wee a bit tingly like you've washed with original source mint shower gel 😂😂🙈🙈

ToddlerMumma · 03/06/2025 16:17

Just did my first ever injection. I’d put it off all day as I was so scared I’d mess it up and waste a dose! It was pretty straightforward though so all good. Am I right in thinking I don’t need to leave it in the fridge now, as long as I use it within 30days?
