Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

took my 2nd jab Friday after sailing thru with no symptoms last week. Today they’ve hit me! I’m at work & been running to the loo every half hour, which is my worst nightmare. I’m hoping I can last the train journey home. The only thing I can think was last night I ate the skin off a roast chicken. I’m scared to eat anything now.

Oh lord that's my nightmare too. I might carry a box of loperamide around with me should it hit unexpectedly. I don't work in an office so am not always close to a toilet.
Just a thought, you're definitely not constipated? You can get spurious diarrhoea when you're impacted so worth keeping in mind

Welcome @Sam187 I took my 1st yesterday morning, a tip I found from lots of reading is font jab after eating too much or anything fried or fatty, or after consuming alcohol. They seem to bring on more side effects it seems, but only a low % of people seem to get them, you sound like I was and worried I would get the worst SE ever, but seem to be ok atm 🤞. It did take me 2 days to pluck up the courage though 🤦‍♀️ good luck and sure you'll be great 👍

Hey, thanks for the advice. I'm golfing tonight so will be having a slightly later dinner (around 9pm). I was planning on having my first dose about 10pm to sleep through any immediate side effects. I wonder if I'm maybe best waiting til tomorrow morning. Thanks for the support, glad you've been doing well 💕

Booklover2021 · 02/06/2025 17:28

W1D3 here and feeling good. Haven't eaten a lot which has been fine but I'm going to head to the gym tomorrow so am making a dinner that I will take to lunch with me tomorrow so I have a bit more to keep me going.

Anyone have advice re weights/ exercise?

shifting12345 · 02/06/2025 17:43

I’m just setting up the juniper app ahead of my consultation and it’s helping work out macros/calories/protein % etc. has everyone else done this? What are you aiming for?

Mine is suggesting 950 calories, 107g protein. Not sure I’ve done it right!

Have a great time!! See how you feel after you have eaten maybe 🤷‍♀️Mourjano slows the food processing procedure down , so you may want to leave it till the morning so it's flushed through a bit 🙈😃

I wondered about taking something but not sure it’ll work for this? No defo not!

loopylou459 · 02/06/2025 17:50

W1D2 for me - can't say I have felt any degree of appetite suppression yet. In fact, I feel ravenous!! Blush

But no SEs so far at least.

Ive not done this bit on the app yet, but will have a look 👍 not sure you have done it right though as 428 cals is protein alone , which is almost half your entire cals for the day? Although Juniper may do things differently. I had a nutritionist a couple years back, I'm 5ft 5 and my target was 1400 cals and between 97-110g protein 🤷‍♀️

Edited

My target protein is similar, 80 - 107g so I’ve gone with 107g as I’ve realised doing the calculation that I actually need to lose more than I thought…

45% of total calories (found elsewhere on the juniper site!) I’d been doing different macro ratios previously. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t working…

That seems a really low daily calorie intake!

Chat GPT tells me it should work when taking Mounjaro where diarrhoea is a side effect. Might be useful to have in these emergency situations. Hopefully the train journey was non eventful!

Yes exactly! I must have done it wrong 😂

BoredReceptionist · 02/06/2025 19:18

I had a really strong immune response to my first injection, having taken it on Saturday morning I had very sore glands in my neck, throat, under arms, breasts yesterday, I couldn’t see anything on the leaflet saying this is a potential side effect but when I googled it a different mumsnet thread came up with lots of people saying they’d had the same thing. Really weird, but fading now thank goodness!

Samilaa99 · 02/06/2025 19:19

@shifting12345 where is it In the app, I can remember where the macros were 🤦‍♀️

ToddlerMumma · 02/06/2025 19:22

I have my first pen in the fridge (MedExpress) and start tomoz! I’m excited and nervous! I’m stressing about how fiddly the prepping will be. It’s so expensive, I don’t want to waste a dose!
I’m so hungry all the time and my portions are huge. Looking forward to some help with the discipline. I’m already hitting the gym quite hard which should help. I’ve lost 1stone on my own but it’s taken me over a year.

I had this too strangely enough! It was very bizarre but I thought I might just have been coming down with something, but I'm d3 now and absolutely fine. My neck under my voice box, and my arms from under my armpits to my elbows were really sore.

I didn't even click that it might have been connected

moremoremores · 02/06/2025 19:46

Managed 80g of protein today. I have definitely felt hungry but can't eat big portions Feeling very tired but not sure if that's because I didn't sleep last night.

SomethingAboutYou · 02/06/2025 19:48

The 'how to' guide on using the pen looks intimidating but it's pretty straightforward when you follow it step by step. I doubt I'll need to check the guide by the 3rd dose. Will read it for the 2nd one to make sure I haven't forgotten anything!

Can I ask where you jabbed as wonder if that has an impact?

I know you didn’t ask me but I injected in my thigh, I don’t think the injection site will make a difference to whether anyone gets this reaction.

SusanSHelit · 02/06/2025 21:07

I injected in my thigh because my post childbearing belly is 90% stretch mark

I was thinking about injecting in back of arm next and just wondered if the SE were near the source of injection, if you know what I mean 🤔. I am defo over thinking the SE. Hope next jabs do not bring anymore nasty effects @boredreceptionist 🤞

Tinybirdie · 02/06/2025 21:46

I took some banana protein shake tonight. Absolutely vile. I was boaking!

Xmasfairy86 · 02/06/2025 22:04

Snacked a bit more today, but within my calories. Drank loads, still under on protein though. Managed 75g, aiming for 100g
