I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

Great work / losses / NSVs so far everyone!

Thank you @SunnySpellsAhead . Hope you feel better. I'm dying (like most teachers) to reach the end of term. Last week is all off timetable and sports days and special trips and activities and in theory it's great but it's really hard to keep track of where you're meant to be at any given moment. So long as I have some cans of pop in the fridge and protein yoghurts I should be ok food wise but it's hard when out of routine.

Crikeyalmighty · 28/06/2025 11:09

@QS90 it does make you realise when you look how much weight even say 10kg is !! why so many felt knackered or excercise of any kind didn’t appeal - it’s a really viscious circle.

TC4 · 29/06/2025 11:25

So I think with 7.5mg I’ve got some mild side effects, I have a very slight deep seated nausea which I’ve experienced before on lower doses for a day or so. But a new one for me and who knows if it’s related, has anyone experienced this?? I have a couple of slightly painful skin patches, there is nothing to see but it’s quite tender to touch and feels like a graze, it’s just the skin it’s not inside I currently have it on the top of my ankle and a patch on my stomach 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Knakeredd · 29/06/2025 11:31

I’ve just taken my 5th dose of 7.5 - will go to 10 next week. My SE’s mainly burps and wind haven’t got any worse with each dose.

I have come out in hives on my upper back and shoulders - they come and go and can be v itchy. Not heard anyone else with this SE - so maybe it’s not even the MJ.

PhantomErik · 29/06/2025 12:30

Wk14 lost 1lb this week. I was exhausted day 1 & 2 last week, haven't over eaten but not had enough protein, can't seem to face it. Feeling a bit fed up but our house is pretty stressful at the moment (kitchen renovation) but should be better by mid July.

SW 16.6
CW 14.10

It's quite slow going but at least it's going in the right direction. 3rd 7.5mg injection later.

Mounjarogirl25 · 29/06/2025 13:11

Weigh in day today and I have now lost 2.5 stone, this has also taken me into a new stone bracket so I have now said goodbye to 3 stone brackets (hopefully forever). Still not dropped a dress size though which is annoying, hopefully soon! I am on holiday the beginning of August so hopefully lose another half a stone by then🤞

SeaDippingandLattes · 29/06/2025 15:49

@Mounjarogirl25 🙌 2.5 stone - 🤩

Uninvitedleaf · 29/06/2025 16:22

Weigh in day for me, just under 2lb loss this week so that’s a slow and steady 1st3lb altogether (in 11 weeks). I’ve just started my second 5mg pen and seem to be doing OK on it so at the moment I’m thinking I will order 5mg for the next one as well.

I bought a lovely Ralph Lauren size 16 dress in their online sale this week and was gutted that it doesn’t fit me. On the positive side it was only too tight across the chest and was OK everywhere else so I’m probably losing weight in the right places 😂. Considered hanging on to it until it does fit but I’ve decided to send it back. It is nice to be looking at clothes I would never have considered three months ago!!

PinkCatInATree · 29/06/2025 16:33

Demoralising week this week and I am back to carrying the scales around looking for a place where they weigh least ...
Absolutely furious with myself for staying on 2.5 for my 3rd pen. Have a 5 in the fridge.

Shared an ice cream with my dog.

Could it be Polymorphic light eruption? Our toddler came down with this recently, it's a horrid thing! No idea if it's related to MJ or not though...

Thanks at @QS90 - I dont think so as I always keep covered as have had skin cancer. I have done a google and its a rare and potentially serious SE indicating allergy and could go to anaphylactic shock - but I have had them for months now and they havent got any worse with increasing doses. I might go to see my GP though as it might be an immune issue. Would be absolutely gutted if I had to come off it though. I am due to take my 10mg dose next Friday - maybe I will just take a 7.5mg dose out.

How long have you got to go with your 2.5mg pen? Could you get a higher dose out of it?

it’s so hard trying to decide weeks in advance, I feel your pain. I’m thinking I’ll stick with 5mg for my next one but realistically it will be a month from now before I need it (4 doses to go from the current one). And then that would do me another 5 weeks - do I want to be on 5mg in 9 weeks time 🤨? I know I have a couple of weeks to decide but it’s tough having to guess when we’ll want to go up a dose!

YES!!! 12.13 today. Been trying to get below 13st before end of term which is next Friday for me. Plan is to use the 8 weeks to lose another and go back for INSET at 11 something. I've been teaching nearly 30 years and almost all of them I've told myself I will be the one who gets the "wow, you look amazing" comments (there's always someone). I might actually stand a chance this time!!!

Fellow teacher here! I started MJ in June 2024 (13st 4lb) and lost 9lb before the end of term. I was determined to use the summer to lose weight, like you. I went back to work nearly 2 stone lighter than my starting weight (11st 6). In my eyes I looked no different as I was in the same size clothes. However, many people noticed and their first question was, 'How have you done it?' I was not prepared for that question. I hit goal in October half term (10st 8) and have lost another 3/4 stone since. I have been totally off MJ for 4 months and now weigh 9st 12lb. Never did I think I would see a 9 on the scales again especially being over 50. Good luck.

Squiffy01 · 29/06/2025 19:57

@QS90 😱😱 you have literally just diagnosed my son for me. Thank you! He gets it on his ears every spring for the last few years for a few weeks then is fine. It’s so strange.

you have my sympathy @Knakeredd i have been coming out in hives for years and years multiple times a day. Still haven’t worked out what it is. It has definitely got less frequent the last month or so but still happens.

I am so disappointed in myself the last few days I have eaten so much. I 100% won’t lose anything this week. It’s like I can feel myself getting bigger.

QS90 · 29/06/2025 23:08

Sorry to hear about your skin cancer @Knakeredd . If it were me, I'd have a look into the allergy thing. Hopefully it's nothing to do with it, and they can sort it out for you. But if not, that SE does sound quite serious 😬

QS90 · 29/06/2025 23:14

Lol glad to help @Squiffy01 My boys seem to have every odd skin / allergy thing going, God bless them, so I try and keep informed! It fits too, that your son only gets the hives in the spring.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad week btw. Whenever I have a bad few days, I remember how much worse it would have been pre MJ - I might end up putting on 1lb rather than 6... I'm sure you can't have gotten that much bigger in just 1 week x

QS90 · 29/06/2025 23:20

I'm envious @Uninvitedleaf My clothes always end up loose on the chest and tight on the tummy 😂🤦‍♀️ whatever size I am. Hopefully I will get a similar effect 🤞 Although now I'm thinking about it, my bras all seem to be fitting fine - put have gone down a jeans size. Maybe there is hope yet!

OP posts:
QS90 · 29/06/2025 23:25

This might be a rude question @diian so sorry if so... but in the spirit of it being an anonymous forum... how are you feeling with regards to your skin / shape in general? I'm down 2.5 stone now, and getting a bit conscious about being a different texture almost to before, when my stomach was almost tight like a beach ball!

Obviously I'm mainly just pleased to be healthier and without knee ache. But am curious as to how others getting on.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 30/06/2025 05:09

SW 260lbs
CW 233.5lbs

The beginning of June was a wipe out. I kept losing and gaining the same 2lbs. Without MJ I would have thrown in the towel for sure. This time I trusted the process and kept going.
Last couple of jabs I upped it slightly from 5mg. I have 2x7.5mj syringes in the fridge ready to go.
I’m also down 2 dress sizes and need to buy new underwear. Very soon, as my knickers are close to falling down 😆

diian · 30/06/2025 06:35

@QS90 I am loving my new shape. It is great to put clothes on and they look nice. I wore shorts for the first time in 6 years last week. As for the loose skin. I only really have it on my upper arms. I am very conscious of it. I won’t be wearing any vest tops or halter necks again!! However, this is a small price to pay. I will stick to elbow length sleeves.

I’ve had this but didn’t realise it was related!
I keep getting the sensitivity on my arm and I’m having to take my watch off.
I had shingles a while ago and it’s a very similar sensation, like a nervy feeling in the top layers of skin

QS90 · 30/06/2025 07:15

Thanks for the reply @diian it sounds great! Congratulations on it all.

Yes tbf, my texture change is only round my tummy, and I've never worn a crop top in my life. So in that sense I suppose it doesn't really matter.

Me too! Random bits of my skin that are sore to the touch, but completely fine the next day. Usually on the arms or legs.

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 30/06/2025 13:41

After another 10 days of static weight (always around ovulation, very strange!) I have dropped again and now 15kg down from my starting weight. Although 17.3kg down from my heaviest in March 2024.

Tried on my yoga set today as my lower back has been aching and not only did it fit well but I can really see a difference in the tighter clothes! Did a deep dive to try and find a picture at my biggest and genuinely was shocked at the before and after especially around my stomach (which is where I carry all my excess weight).

Starting at 101kg and with a goal of 65kg I think I can officially say I’m half way to target now which after 12 weeks feels great, I imagine the loss will slow down over the next 12 weeks and it will take me until the end of the year at least to reach target but let’s see. I have decided this is my last 5mg pen and I will go up to 7.5mg for the next one.

I love seeing the NSVs!

SeaDippingandLattes · 30/06/2025 20:24

Officially overweight from today ‘hurrah’ and at the half way mark now! Just another two stone three pounds to go 😂 have trialled 5mg today and hoping it doesn’t backfire!!! Hope everyone has a good week!!!
