I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

The weight on the scales has been up and down from 90kg to 90.8kg for the past two weeks (so frustrating). I’m hot and my asthma is playing up with the heat. Feeling hot and breathless and pissed off wirh no weight loss has resulted in me having an ice cream Solero for brunch!

I’m struggling in this hot weather. MJ has lowered my blood pressure - I was a textbook 120/80 before MJ and this morning I was 93/75. When I was younger it was on the low side so this isn’t out of the ordinary for me. But in this heat I’m struggling to stay hydrated - I’m drinking as much as I can physically take but still not weeing enough. I keep going dizzy if I get up too fast, and breathless if I bend over and don’t fill my lungs fully. In my Pilates class I thought I was going to pass out after getting up from the mat, I had the full spots in front of the eyes thing and the room receding down a tunnel. And that was just going from lying down to sitting up!

This might be the side effect that stops me going up from 7.5 to 10mg. I can manage gastric upsets, but I draw the line at losing consciousness in public!

I think you should make a GP appointment to get that checked tbh.

Ive eaten healthy high protein from the start. Suppression still good but can eat more now than at the start. Also doing weight training & take collagen daily & dry brush regularly.
I can get around 80g of protein in on average, sometimes higher. I still have an occasional treat & alcoholic drink.
I think I will probably change my TW when I get close. I used to always be 11st in my younger days but maybe 11.7 would be achievable now?
For reference I’m 5’9 & 52.

Also I too get the red swelling at injection site. I alternate sides & areas. It’s usually faded to a bruise by the next week. I tried taking it out of the fridge this week beforehand but it didn’t make a difference 😫 No other side effects though so can’t complain!

Sorry for the long update & well done to everyone. I love reading all your updates & tips!
I’m off to look at Tretinoin!

Week 12 for me, second dose of 7.5mg done this morning. I had no side effects whatsoever but also, weirdly, less suppression than on 5mg. Weight stayed the same as last week and I’m also due on any day so not surprised but disappointed as I’m going away next week and was hoping to lose a bit more before then. Ah well. I’ve done today’s jab in my belly so hoping that makes a difference.

I have my first 7.5 injection on Wednesday. I have had no suppression and a lot of food noise on 5mg, so I can only hope the 7.5 will be better

I've lost nearly 3lb this week but it was easy as I couldn't taste my food due to being struck down with Covid! Lowest protein today of only 26g as still poorly but agree with PP it's a PITA to try to get it all in usually. All the special protein foods are chock full of sweeteners it seems, which doesn't appeal.

Congrats to those beginning to hit their targets and shout out to all of us with a LONG way to go yet. Think we're going to need longer to adjust psychologically so it's just as well!

Took my 12th Jab on Friday, just under 20lbs down, I’m slow compared to some.

No side effects really, just able to keep eating sensibly and I am tracking to help when I finally start coming off.

Still on 2.5mg, do have some food noise around about the 5/6th day and weight loss is slowing to around 0.5-1lb a week. Maybe I need to go up but a bit hesitant to go full 5mg. Stupidly, my next pen in the fridge is 5mg, as I had some big food noise around few weeks ago, I think it’s more my hormones when it’s TOM making me crave. So might just count clicks, try 3.75mg or just use the 5mg to do 2.5mg for 30days but just seems a bit of a waste!

My protein intake never drops below 120g per day and I am weight lifting still.

NSV, clothes fitting much better, size 16 is very loose and 14 is starting to fit much better but all depends on the brand!!

I have found the heat the past few days has also curbed my appetite, something that normally happens for me anyway.

Onwards and downwards…

Just taken the bonus dose from my 2nd pen so that’s the end of week 10/start of week 11 for me.

I’m only half a pound down on the scales over the last 7 days but I’m sure a lot of the slow down is due to the heat and water retention so I’m not worried unduly (thanks again to @Crikeyalmighty’s timely posts earlier in the week pointing that out!). I record weight once a week but tend to weigh daily so I know I was about 2lb lower than this mid week - it will sort itself by next Sunday.

I’m just over a stone down in total and am definitely noticing it now. I feel like I have spent the last few days wafting around elegantly in floaty summer stuff rather than presenting a hot sweaty mess as I usually do. Possibly more about mental attitude and confidence rather than anything else as I’ve still got a long way to go but I’ll take it 😊.

Wk13 & had my first week of 7.5mg. Hardly any side effects & feeling good. Lost 2lbs this week & almost another inch from my waist which brings me to nearly 6 inches lost!

SW 16.6
CW 14.11

Still a long way to go but most of the time I don't think about food or losing weight etc so feeling quite free to focus on other stuff. Really nice!

I took my second (split dose) 2.5mg this morning, and could feel it kick in after a couple of hours. No hunger at all despite an hours run (so hot and sweaty!)🥵 and I’ve got that lovely not being at all bothered about food feeling! It’s 3pm and I’ve not eaten yet today.
Shotsy estimated my levels today as being 2.89mg and increasing. It’s going to be very useful (I hope) to help me work out the lowest dose I need to get the benefits of Mounjaro without the side effects.
Im currently fluctuating between 10.5 and 10.65 stones but with the heat and being a bit constipated I’m not worried at all. So no “loss” so far this week but no gain from pre holiday either!
I also applied another Tretinoin treatment to my face, neck and décolletage last night. Washed it off and covered with factor 50 today. But blimey I was very red after my run (more than usual I’d say). I’ve cooled down again now and actually my skin is looking really moisturised!

thanks for the thought! I should have said that I did exactly that a year ago, got a full blood work up and an ecg, which came back all ok. GP decided it was stress and anxiety and put me on sertraline. Which did help.

I’ve always struggled with the heat and in my younger days also low bp - I remember being at the doctors and them having difficulty measuring my bp, the exact words being “well I know you’ve got a blood pressure because you’re sitting here talking to me but I’m having difficulty finding it”.

so this isn’t new for me, the symptoms feel exactly like before, and if they drag on, particularly when the weather cools, I promise I’ll go back to the doc. But I’m 99% certain they’ll see my blood pressure is on the low side, say they don’t treat low blood pressure because generally it’s only an issue if it’s due to catastrophic blood loss and to dial back on the MJ if it’s bothering me. I am considering dropping to 6.75mg for my next dose to see if that makes a difference.

Just realised I posted on the late April thread when this one is probs more for me…

I’m late to the party on this thread. Been managing MJ on my own (only my partner knows I take it). Would love to join this thread. It’s hard not having anyone to talk to who actually knows what you’re going through. I started 5th April so it’s been exactly 11 weeks! Doesn’t time fly.

Losses so far:
Weeks (2.5mg) 1-4: 20lbs
Weeks (5mg) 5-8: 13lbs
Weeks (7.5mg) 9-11: 7lbs
SW: 18 stone 11lbs
CW: 15 stone 13lbs

Im officially in the 15’s! 2 more lbs from a 3 stone loss. I’ve found it almost effortless. I’ve booked a holiday in 10 weeks and I’m hoping to get under 15 stone as I’ve not been that weight in at least a decade. More importantly… buying some new clothes in a smaller size would be nice!

I've gained 1lb this week, dammit. I did go out for a three course lunch yesterday, but didn't drink alcohol, avoided the bread basket and had cheese without the crackers instead of pudding.

I've just taken my 10th dose - the extra from my second 2.5mg pen. I managed to get approx 0.72mg out, so I make that 3mg. I will see how it goes but will probably stay on 3mg for a week or two.

Well done to everyone - lots of amazing losses and NSVs! I'm particularly impressed with people navigating holidays 💪

I’ve been there! Try and forget about it and draw a line under it. Start fresh tomorrow. I’ve had days like that, never mind over a couple of days!

When I’ve had days like that I find it helpful to actually count the calories I’ve eaten and it’s usually under 2,000. I think when you’re on MJ you’re so used to eating much less so when you do eat more or binge, you feel like it’s loads.

What dosage are you on? How long have you felt this way?

Why don’t you try dosing 2.5mg every 4-5 days? I’m trying this and to be fair only just taken my second 2.5 dose (first was 4 days ago) but I’ve felt the suppression kick in now, but less tired and nauseated. Plus the scales have dropped this morning!

You did amazingly well to get 13 weeks on 3.75. It might just be time to up the dose as you’re completely acclimatised to that level.

Week 11? Home briefly between trips. I go away again tomorrow. I've had a few days of no suppression at all, which I expected as I'm really low dosing to enjoy my travels. I tried to use the opportunity to nourish myself with lots of vitamins etc but I actually ate Snickers bars and fried chicken! Oh well. A good reminder that this drug is doing the work and it's not some fundamental change in my nature.

A week of eating out with six different friends - and I'm the same weight, despite the Snickers. It feels like somehow there's a delay, for me, between eating and weight change, of quite a few days. Can't explain it.

I’m still trying to decide what to do about my upcoming dose before my holiday. I’m currently on 7.5mg and have quite strong suppression which won’t allow me to enjoy much food while I’m away. I’m debating skipping the dose altogether or taking a lower dose instead (maybe 5mg?), any advice?

I just didn’t want to eat much and felt bad on husband I was trying not to make it a “thing”. I kind of pushed salads around! I felt better by day 4 I think and although wasn’t eating loads or as many ice creams/treats I did not feel restricted to looking for salad only meals! I’m away again in Oct and will either skip or really reduce.

That’s exactly what I’m worried about, and this is our first holiday alone together in 5 years so I’d be gutted (and so would he) if I wasn’t able to fully enjoy myself. Thank you, I think that’s helped me make my decision to skip.
