I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

Great work / losses / NSVs so far everyone!

Beginning to feel a bit frustrated at the lack of movement on the scales. Costs me the equivalent of £400 per month (I'm in Ireland) & at a rate of 1lb per week I think I might be better off investing in a personal trainer. Very little suppression for the past week so I've moved up to 7.5 a day early, I hope I don't have to wait too much longer before I find the sweet spot, if I don't do well on my next pen I think I will be going it alone or saving my money for liposuction :-(

Not so keen on being 62 and it telling me I have metabolic age of 70!!

Mine told me that I had a metabolic age of 86.

I'm 68.

🤣🤣

Mine was 65 ish. I was 43 at the time...

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/05/2025 20:43

0.6ml I hope!

There's only 2.4ml MJ in each pen (not including the bonus).

To get a full dose on 5mg it’s 0.6 right? Not 0.7?

Yes. A full dose in all the pens is 0.6ml.

The syringe goes up from 10 to 100. So it’s 0.6 = 60 :)

Not a 100ml syringe.

Perhaps it just got its numbers the wrong way round.

Mind you, that was months ago. It's changed its mind and tells me I'm 76 now.

That’s very good! How much have you lost to get the metabolic age down?!!!

I’ve never understood all the magic scales. How do they knowwwwww?????

like I can understand all the fancy tests to know bone density, fat, metabolic rate etc but how does a scale know from just standing on it?

Costs me the equivalent of £400 per month (I'm in Ireland) & at a rate of 1lb per week I think I might be better off investing in a personal trainer. Very little suppression for the past week so I've moved up to 7.5 a day early, I hope I don't have to wait too much longer before I find the sweet spot, if I don't do well on my next pen I think I will be going it alone or saving my money for liposuction :-(

Sorry you’re feeling frustrated. My losses have slowed down now too and I think it’s looking like another 1lb wk for me. I’m kind of ok with it though because I know I don’t have the willpower to diet if I come off the jabs and at least I’m losing weight. Not sure I’d be so casual if I was paying as much as you though. I hope 7.5mg works for you.

SaddlebagSal · 27/05/2025 23:20

W9D5 for me and today I’ve been starving. I’ve managed to muster enough willpower that snacking has been relatively healthy (yogurt and fruit) but a pack of crisps did leap into my hands.

It’s the kind of day that if I was doing this by willpower alone, I’d say sod it and end up giving up. I’ve only ever managed to diet for about 2 months so I’m already at my limit where something in me says “bored now”. But on MJ, I’m quite relaxed. I’ve still eaten less than I would have done in one day before my first jab, the medication is still in my body and I’ll be moving up to 7.5mg using the golden dose from my 5mg pen on Thursday.

Im quite a patient person, which is a good thing when you’re a slow loser! I’m averaging a pound a week, which by my standards is great. I’ve lost 5% of my body weight, and my clothes are looking a bit better on me. That’s enough for me to carry on. If I could nudge that up to 1.5 to 2 lb a week I’d be even happier. But if I stick at a consistent 1lb weekly loss, even on a higher dose, I’ll take it.

Squiffy01 · 27/05/2025 23:21

@Incognitoburrito88 that’s a good way to look at it. I’m so impatient to just not be so fat and gross anymore. I’m annoyed if it’s a slow week and paying so much money for the jabs I could do it myself but actually I can’t. That’s why I started on MJ.

I’m not sure! There are four metal points on the scales (2 for each foot). You have to place the ball of your feet on the top ones and heels in the bottom

You may be overweight, but you are not gross x All the time if you are managing to make healthy choices, you will be improving your body composition / blood lipids / insulin resistance too.

It is frustrating not to see the scales move though. Totally get it, as I'm another one who hasn't lost this week - I've actually gained a lb, despite being in a deficit every day. It shouldn't be hormonal, so who knows 🤷‍♀️ I've read a little bit about plateaus today - everyone seems to say they are normal and that you should just keep on keeping on. So I'm keeping on keeping on. One day the scales will show that for all of us x

Thank you, I’ve just purchased one for 20 quid from Amazon. I assumed it would be super expensive! I’m excited

wordywitch · 28/05/2025 07:39

W9D1 for me and I am officially no longer obese! BMI 29.9.

SW: 91.4kg / 14st 5lb
CW: 80.4kg / 12st 9lb
Weight lost: 11kg / 24lb

I was planning on ordering another 5mg pen as it’s worked so well for me but then I had moment last night when I went to order and worried it might start wearing off so I got the 7.5mg instead. Gosh it’s expensive! 😭 I really need to shop around suppliers to get a better price, I’ve just been too lazy.

Has anyone moved up to 7.5mg yet? I’m nervous!

Incognitoburrito88 · 28/05/2025 09:55

Morning Everyone,

Just thought I'd come on and complain. Weigh day on Friday for me and unless we have a miracle in the next 2 days It's going to be another 1lb down. I rather depressingly calculated that I still have 32 lbs to go until my dream weight which at this rate will take me until New Year's Eve... I had hoped it would be a bit faster!

I know I could do stuff... I could start counting calories and make my deficit bigger - thing is I keep a food diary and I already think I'm 500 cals below me TDEE not including exercise - so don't want to drop lower and also I don't want to count cals because I go mad. I could also go up to 5 mg. My problem is I'm so exhausted on 2.5mg @QS90 I think you described it like the first trimester of pregnancy and I totally agree - I'm wiped out this week. I can't imagine how bad 5 mg might make me feel - anyone have any thoughts on this?

@Squiffy01 I'm sure you are not fat and gross and I know deep down I'm not either but I just want that slim body I've been dreaming of NOW!

Oh I have an NSV though!! I bought a pair of jeans in Sainsbury's 2.5 wks ago. Our Sainsbos doesn't have a fitting room so I tried them on at home - too small. Been meaning to take them back but kept forgetting. Tried them on today and they actually fit!
Right off for a walk in the sun to help me delay my breakfast a bit longer!

Congratulations! Your losses are fantastic. Did you do one month on 2.5 and one on 5? Can't offer any advice on 7.5 I'm afraid but I'm sure I've seen a few posters who are on it already - good luck.

SusanSometimes · 28/05/2025 10:39

That's amazing @wordywitch, congrats!

@Incognitoburrito88 I think we started on the same day back in early April, injecting on a Friday. I'm still on 2.5 as well, and so wiped out tired that I need a nap after work. I think I'm going to stay on 2.5 for another month because I still have suppression and I'm losing well - almost 2 stone off at this stage. Congrats on the jeans fitting, too!

Yes, just did my last 5mg today, with bonus dose still left to do. I hope I don’t regret moving up to 7.5 but figured I can always count the clicks to take less if needed.

It’s always a worry on what to do with doses! I think you’re doing great

I stayed on 5 as I found that I was losing at a good rate and I was chalking up nsv that kept me motivated. Coupled with the fact that I had most days where I could barely eat. So wanted to stay at the lowest possible I could rather than going up

however just remember that with 7,5, you have given yourself options! Which means you can flex what you need to do depending where you are in the next weeks!

you can then decide to keep at 7.5 or even move back to !
