Hoping it's not too late fir me to juno on this thread as a May starter.
I've been thinking about mounjaro for months but have been too scared to do anything about it, I work full time and have a DD with SEN so can't really afford any down days.
But yesterday I thought f**k it I'm going to do it, signed up with voy yesterday and medication arrived this afternoon.
Injected myself about an hour ago and feel a bit achy and can feel a headache coming on.
Not sure if this is psycosomatic!
Will try not to overthink- DH thinks I'm mad to try it.
I'm 54 5ft 2 and SW 82.4 kg.
I'd like to get down to 10stone and if I can do 9 4lb which I was before DC it would be a miracle!

I’m doing my first jab tonight and have signed up to Voy too. They’ve been very impressive so far, I had a coach phone call today, which was good. But the app doesn’t seem to be working anymore. It won’t let me log in today, which is annoying. The tech people are looking into it for me, I hope they sort it tomorrow!

hottubsundays · 20/05/2025 21:09

As a type 2 diabetic I will be given the 5mg after this first pen as it’s the medical dose. I’ve been ok with side effects on the whole it’s been manageable and I’m feeling a lot better in myself, more energy. Does worry me how I will feel on 5mg but will have to give it a whirl for my health

Anonymousmember25 · 20/05/2025 21:12

So.... W2 D3. Was disappointed with a 4lb loss but on reflection, have eaten normally ish today, wondered why I have felt so uncomfortable, I think for the first time in a very long time I am actually starting to feel full or at least recognise that I am.

I was feeling really rubbish about the whole state I am in but feeling a bit more positive. This has spurred me on to keep going and make some better choices. 😊

Apprenante · 20/05/2025 21:16

I've chosen the 5mg pen but depending how I'm feeling at the end of week 4 may adjust the dose.
I squirted a whole dose out by mistake - thinking I was priming the pen! - right at the beginning of week 1. So in order to get 4 doses out of my current pen I'll have to be brave and use a syringe. Aaggh!

stripesdotsdashes · 20/05/2025 21:19

Checking in, 3 doses done and due 4th 2.5mg jab on Friday. I've changed providers for the next pen after researching on mounj.co.uk for the best maintenance provider. I had to do photos and a video but it was quick for approval.

I've definitely felt less suppression this week so am glad I've gone for 5mg for next time. Hoping I can stay on this for a few months then titrate down once at target to 2.5mg over 6 months. Hearing food noise again as I walk round the house has been annoying.
I've only lost 2kg but I feel very squidgy as if the fat is almost loosening off ready to go! No SE other than nausea if I've gone too long without eating, and a bit more tired and cold.

ElsieJay · 20/05/2025 21:32

Welcome to all the new joiners, and congratulations to all the losers also.
Feeling better today , probably because I’ve been able to eat a little more despite still not feeling hungry .
Managed a Huel shake for breakfast by drinking it very slowly over the course of an hour . Late lunch of fat free cottage cheese and crudités, evening meal 8pm was prawn salad with strawberries for dessert.
Presently on Week 2, Day 6 and will do my second weigh-in on the pharmacy scales tomorrow morning .
Plan to stay on the 2.5 dose due to very good suppression and fear of side effects, which have been fairly minimal .
Still debating over what to do whilst we’re away for 5 weeks - as DH and family don’t know ( though have now confided in DDIL, who is very supportive ).
I think the stress of ensuring DH doesn’t spot “ the kit” as we go through airport security, plus asking the various family members we will staying with overseas (will be several different houses ) if I can stash a mysterious package in their fridge(s) will be too much for me ……

Morning everyone, just checking in for the first time. W1D1 for me, I’ve just taken the first dose.

I have 3 stone to lose after years of yo-yo dieting and I’m so glad I’ve taken this step. It was reading the threads on Mumsnet that gave me the motivation, there are some incredible success stories here.

It’s much too early to know if I’ll get any SE, but SheMed included a little care package of Gaviscon, Loperamide, Senokot and Wind-eze, so all bases covered there 😂

I got mine today. It made me laugh when I saw this little care package. 😆

Good Luck! My coach phone call isnt until June, Maybe because i picked a coach rather than have one allocated?
Do have a online webinair tomorrow about starting the mounjaro.
I just wanted a bit of back up/reassurance in case i started to get horrible side effects.
I had a headache/neck ache about 60-90 mins after jab may or may not be connected but Ive had some paracetamol and all good, mind you DH just walked in with a magnum and i though mmm ice cream! so clearly it hasnt switched off food noise yet!

I wanted the back up too, at least for the first month. I chose my own coach too, late last night, and they had a slot this afternoon available so I booked it. They will ring every couple of weeks, they said. But the app not working is bugging me, as I wanted to check a few things before injecting. I wonder if I could get a discount for another month for the inconvenience!

@Peachblossom25 I’m in week 3. Going to move up to 5mg I think. I’ve had minimal side effects so think I’ll give it a try. I have lost 6lbs so far, so maybe will see how I get on at weigh in next Monday. When are you ordering your next pen? Are you doing the golden dose?

I’m planning on ordering it at the end of this week when I can see how I’ve felt after week 3. Like you, I’ve had minimal side effects too so I’m hoping that I will cope ok with an higher dose. After reading everyone’s replies, I think I will go for the 5mg. I’ve felt actual hunger today and my tummy is rumbling 😩
I’m definitely going to do the golden dose. It’s so expensive - I want every last drop!!

Peachblossom25 · 20/05/2025 22:44

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/05/2025 17:16

I'm worried about increasing and the associated fatigue. I'm sleeping much better now in wk2 and I'm still tired all the time.

I’m so fatigued too! I keep having to have a nap when I get in from work. Although I'm sleeping like a log at night! I used to always wake up for a wee in the night but now I sleep right through.

Peachblossom25 · 20/05/2025 22:57

Thanks everyone for your replies re moving up a dose. It’s so helpful to have everyone’s opinion and be able to ask questions. I haven’t told anyone what I’m doing - it feels like a wonderful secret at the moment and I feel in control and confident about my weight loss for the first time in forever!!
Im so grateful to this group and for all of you. It helps me so much reading all of your posts and knowing that I’m not alone in this ☺️

Mounjaronew · 21/05/2025 00:08

I have serious suppression and have been eating and feeling much healthier. But it is as if my scales are stuck on 11st 10lb.

Completely in agreement with you .

BerfyTigot · 21/05/2025 07:19

I've just had my second dose. Following advice on here, I've taken a half dose and injected into the thigh.

I've also delayed my dose for 12 hours to fit with my schedule just in case the diarrhoea comes for me. 🤞🤞🤞

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 21/05/2025 07:59

I'm so tired! Not sure if it's because I'm not sleeping, or if it's the way the drug works, but I just want to curl up on the sofa. Not looking forward to my busy day ahead. 🥱

dc82 · 21/05/2025 08:26

@BerfyTigot fingers all crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

I have serious suppression and have been eating and feeling much healthier. But it is as if my scales are stuck on 11st 10lb.

Finally 11 8 this morning so 10lbs in 2 and a half weeks. I am going to stop weighing daily although it becomes quite addictive!

dc82 · 21/05/2025 09:18

Hurrah @Mounjaronew . I’ve resisted weighing (w1d6) so far (until tomorrow). Not easy though to resist, because in the past I’ve been a total day weigher and it really does stall or fluctuate (especially with pooping variances and periods) and then I have been guilty of obsessing and over analysing myself 😩

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 21/05/2025 09:21

Crossing everything for you @BerfyTigot !

Today is WK2D4. I'm on day 4 of no alcohol and now when I think about it I have very low interest in having a drink. This is nuts. I tried to cut down on my own for two years and it was impossible, I think I ended up drinking more! MJ is the shizzle.

Signed up to the gym last night! It's for over 30s, no mirrors, lots of rock/indie music with a bit of Sabrina Carpenter thrown in, it was fab. I'm starting a six week challenge next week which I'm totally mentally up for but physically I'm so tired. Hope that's abated a little by WK3.

Thanks to @BluNavy for the plus size workout gear recs - JLUXE looks gorgeous.

selfesteemsearcher · 21/05/2025 09:26

Good morning all,
I’m due my 2nd jab tonight, first 2/3 days SE were rough, feeling very sick, diarrhoea and then the random Sleep paralysis experience, sooo tired 🙈 hoping they’re lesser this week 🤞🏻 but the last 3 days I’ve felt good, been making sure I get 3 meals in. I definitely don’t have suppression atall, following the not eating much from feeling sick earlier in week- but just making better choices, I still allow a treat a day most days to make sure I’m not depriving so much, that when I come off anything will pile lbs on. I never drank water before this atall, so I’ve upped my water intake. Was feeling quite negative really due to Constipation in the latter of the week, I was quite convinced I’d put weight on, due to bloat. One thing I noticed is that my engagement and wedding ring keeps spinning round so I’ve obviously lost weight on my fingers 😂. But surprisingly I have lost, so I’m happy with that- 4lb loss 🤍

Yes constipation is a big problem atm which i never had before. Fibrogel hasn’t helped. But it’s unsurprising as I have totally changed my diet.

MyScaredCat · 21/05/2025 09:40

W4D1 here, just taken my 4th jab this morning.
It was another 4lb loss this week, taking my total since 30th April to 15lbs.
im really pleased with that.
Need to work on eating more the first few days as I definitely struggle. 2nd half of the week is better for getting food in.
Will have attempted my first ‘golden dose’ this time next week, the needles are here ready. If I have problems I also have my next 2.5 pen in the fridge ready to go

lissie123 · 21/05/2025 09:50

Morning All
So it’s W3D1 for me. Minimal SEs but always feel wobbly after my injection and have to lie down. Then the stomach gurgles start. Hopefully it doesn’t come to anything more than that.
