Thought I'd kick start a new thread for this oh so supportive little group, as the last thread was reaching it's limit.

NSV I wore the size 16 trousers, I them bought a while ago in anticipation. I've been trying them on for weeks. Scales still haven't moved though!

There's a pair of size 16 jeans too to try on again, I'll try those later in the week.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 31/05/2025 17:28

Well done everyone on the NSVs! How do you find out what class of obese you are?

Well done everyone on the NSVs! How do you find out what class of obese you are?

From the British heart Foundation on obesity:

  • underweight: BMI below 18.5
  • healthy weight: BMI 18.5 to 24.9
  • overweight: BMI 25 to 29.9
  • obesity class 1: BMI 30 to 34.9
  • obesity class 2: BMI 35 to 39.9
  • obesity class 3: BMI 40 or more.
Doggymummar · 31/05/2025 18:51

I never knew there were different classes. I was 42 so class three. Wowsers

Billybingbong · 31/05/2025 18:55

My dog was weighed at the vets this this morning, and he's 13kg, the exact amount I've lost so far! Haha, I've lost a whole jack russell 🤣

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 31/05/2025 19:24

My DD's best friend weighs about 7 and a half stone. She's always been petite.

I was walking home from choir practice last week, realising that I could now walk without difficulty, and that I had lost the equivalent of this young woman.

I was trying to imagine carrying her, and decided that it would be impossible. Even though I'd been doing so, figuratively, for years.

Do you know, it's no wonder fat people have such bad joints, and other health problems.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 31/05/2025 19:43

Wow I've still got a bit more than your duaghters friens to lose! 😳.

Lobsterteapot · 31/05/2025 19:45

Week 20 and another pound off. 3 stone 12 off, tantalisingly close to 4 stone! Off on hols in two weeks. Would love to do it by then!

AlicesMum2025 · 31/05/2025 19:51

@Billybingbong 🤣 I weighed my dog at the vet yesterday as 12.6kg and my first thought was that I can't wait until I've lost that amount. When I pick her up I think she's heavy. I've lost 6.9kg so far, the equivalent to 54% of a cocker spaniel (but which half?) 🐕‍🦺

Crikeyalmighty · 31/05/2025 19:54

I carried home a 2.4kg chicken from M&S and realised I had lost 4 of them and just the 2.4 felt heavy!! It never feels much on the scales but even 200g is a pack of butter

Thank you, looks like I’ve just dropped from class 3 to class 2 🙌

Hi all, not posted in a while, will need to read through all the posts. I had a nightmare attempting to get the 5th dose for the first time. I bought the correct syringes, watched a YouTube video. For some reason when I pulled the syringe back it was pretty much all air and then a lot spilled out. If anyone could help me or give me tips that would be great for next time. I ended up just using pliers but probably got less than half a dose, so will see how I feel over the next week. I’ve done 8 weeks now and lost 33lbs! First pen 20lbs, second pen 13lbs. Although I’m losing weight I’ve still ordered the higher dose, as after 1-2 weeks of a dose, I notice I end up making bad food choices and the food noise returns. Hopefully I will find a dose that’s right for me. This week I had an appointment with the pharmacist to discuss contraception, they told me the pill doesn’t get absorbed into the blood if you take Mounjaro, so that’s left me to have a think about alternative options as I’m definitely not stopping MJ! The pharmacist was very supportive and said she knows lots of people on it, including her family members, so it was nice to hear that as I’ve not actually told anyone out loud apart from my husband. Hope everyone is doing okay.

@Potato1234 forgive me if any of this is too obvious, but when you extract with a syringe make sure you’re holding the pen vertically with the red bung at the bottom. When you insert the syringe, the pressure inside the pen may stop you withdrawing the medication. It can help to inject air into the pen before then drawing out the medication. Don’t push the needle in too far, as you empty the pen the level of liquid will fall and you want the needle to be at the bottom rather than too high. If that makes sense?

Then, when you’ve got out as much as you can, hold the syringe upright and tap it until all the air is at the top, and then gently press the syringe until the air is expelled.

Thank you, I’ll try that next month. The video I watched extracted it horizontally so that’s what I did. I pushed the needle in about half way up the liquid so will leave it lower next time. I’m a bit annoyed as it seems a waste. I also got to smell it and it smells like TCP 😷

Enjoying reading about how many dogs (or half a dog!) people have lost - does anyone have a copy of that really amusing list that equates weight loss with an object/person? It's very funny, and I remember thinking how amusing it would be to lose the equivalent of Arnold Schwarzenegger...

Motnight · 01/06/2025 09:11

@eibbed999 I can't immediately find the list but remember that a few months ago I had lost the equivalent of an elephant's penis ( which tickled me, though not literally 🙂). Is that the same list?

SilenceInside · 01/06/2025 09:20

The list is on the starting post of the August thread I think.

New born calf pretty much ! Wow

TragicMuse · 01/06/2025 14:23

I’m back home after a couple of nights at a friend’s.

we did a fair bit of walking and I counted/logged everything. Should be within all calories, even including a burger and an ice-cream yesterday. I enjoyed a tub of ice-cream for lunch!!

I’ll weigh tomorrow morning…

UsernameShmusername2024 · 01/06/2025 14:37

Great reading everyone's NSVs! Also interesting to think about different approaches - I've calorie counted and tracked everything since the start and have lost well every week but do keep wondering how I'd do if I just let myself eat more intuitively and might experiment with not calorie counting for a week soon.
Just been camping this weekend...food choices have very much been the sort of thing I'd have eaten pre-MJ but probably in smaller quantities. Exhausted today and all just had super noodles for lunch and no idea what we've got in for dinner but feel confident I'll get back to normal (my new normal!) tomorrow! I know I'll be irrationally upset if I haven't lost anything this week though even though I know it should be ok to have a couple of days of eating crisps and drinking cider with friends!

Lds1 · 01/06/2025 14:58

From that list I've lost the amount of red meat an average American eats in (1) year
