Just starting up a new thread!

Well done @Lindy0070

Yep I have the doighy tummy too. It was at its worst in April but seems to be improving slightly. Been using Avon dry oil on it.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 06/07/2025 10:42

Weigh day today and I'm ignoring what it said. I hit a 11stone 7.2 this week. Went day dancing yesterday. Danced for 4 hours solid, over 20k of steps, drank Diet Coke and rounded the day off with halloumi fries and two slices of thin pepperoni pizza and apparently I've put on 3lb. So I'll keep my 11st 7 from earlier in the week 🤣.

In NSVs though, my friend took a pic of me dancing and I realised I don't look anything like I think I do! I look bloody normal. Not overweight, not massive, just nice!! I think I still see "big" me in my head.
And I went out for a colleagues do on Friday. Saw 6 people I've not seen since I started weight loss. All of them were saying how amazing I look and asking how I've done it etc.

Slimwannabe · 06/07/2025 12:14

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals it's probably just the salt from the halloumi and pizza making your body hang on to extra water, definitely keep the lower weight!

Slimwannabe · 06/07/2025 12:16

@Goinghome25 I've heard that yoyoing calories up and down can help with a bit of a plateau - worth a try?

OP posts:
JunoRoma · 06/07/2025 12:17

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals definitely bank the lower weight and ignore this morning's measurement.

Slimwannabe · 06/07/2025 12:17

A measly 0.5lb off this week, bit rubbish. Not sure why, I don't feel particularly heavy or bloaty and was 1.5lb down on Thurs. Oh well, I'll hope it comes off next week instead...

OP posts:
frogpigdonkey · 07/07/2025 20:41

Week 31
SW 15 stone
CW 11 stone 13 lbs
TW 9 stone

still grinding out the 1lb a week. Like others I see lower weights midweek but just for consistency am using the weights on the day. Having somewhat mixed emotions about it all- I feel and look much better but then I see pictures or videos and realise how much further I still have to go. Ah well. One day and one pound at a time- it’s all a loss. Onwards and downwards!

TrinityWaves · 08/07/2025 08:30

W32D07
Loss this week: -0.4 lb
SW: 263.4 lb (BMI43)
CW: 184.4 lb
TL: 79 lb
TW: 11st (BMI25)
Current dose: 10mg

@frogpigdonkey - today I've only lost 0.4 lb to record for this week but 3 days ago I was actually 2 lb lighter than this.

JunoRoma · 08/07/2025 12:15

End of week 32. Still on 5mg.

My BMI is now 27, and I'm happy with anything in the 25-27 range. My focus has moved from kg to cm.

My goal is to get my waist measurement down to 91cm, which would give me a W:H ratio of 0.55. I'm not aiming for the 'healthy ideal' of < 0.5 as I have a condition which has caused my womb to be the equivalent size of a 20 week pregnancy. However I'm aware that I'm also still carrying quite a lot of fat around my middle.

Start: 127cm
Current: 100cm - somehow larger than a month ago despite having lost a couple of kg 😠
Goal: 91cm

TrinityWaves · 08/07/2025 12:37

I've also been following the stuff regarding maintenance with interest. Oushk (but I think this is just because they were unlucky with regards to the time of their inspection) have had to tighten up guidelines for maintenance and monitoring of patients, although it's still very possible.
I'm going to keep going with 10mg until I get to 11 stone/BMI of 25 (still a while away - 30lb) and then maintain at that on 7.5mg, then maybe 5mg for sometime. I'm unsure how long, I've read about set point theory which can be anything from 6months-some years. So maybe a year or 2 on Maintain-Jaro.

Goinghome25 · 08/07/2025 12:53

Love that! MAINTAINJARO!

Goinghome25 · 08/07/2025 12:56

Just had my online maintenance consultation with Oushk.
Cost me £5.

Was told to stay on 10mg, aim to lose 1st more by stepping up the protein, maintaining exercise, and to book another one, free this time, in 3 weeks!

That's good you don't have to pay again! Did you find the call useful?

Yes it was useful.
She rediirected my attentiion away from dosage and towards what I am eating and reinforced my target of 10st for maintenance.

LC4life · 09/07/2025 20:02

Hello everyone!

Last week I had a gain of +3.3 lbs, but I purposely reduced my dose to 5 mg (left arm) ahead of my liver blood tests. I still stuck to my liver- and kidney-friendly high-protein meal plan (no calorie counting), but I had a bad week due to lots of work and another flare of right kidney stone pain along with a cold and sore throat. I avoided medication until after my tests, and didn't want to go to the GP and take more antibiotics.

This past week I went back to my regular 9 mg dose (lower left belly) and had a great drop of -7.2 lbs (losing what I gained the week before and more down to 200.6 lbs! I’m now so close to the under 200 lbs milestone and also under bmi 30! 🎉

Still not counting calories (apart from a vague tally on my head) and focusing on very clean, high-protein, liver-friendly meals.

Liver blood test results also came back this week: ALP level is now back in normal range (finally) but ALT serum is still high, but overall the results are much better than before.

I hope everyone is well and I'll go and catch up on the recent posts.

My Current Stats After 31 Weeks:
Height: 5'8" (173 cm)
SW: 260 lbs (18 st 8 lbs / 118 kg), BMI 40.3
CW: 200.6 lbs (14 st 4.6 lbs / 91 kg), BMI 30.4
TL: -59.4 lbs (-27 kg)
→ 56.4% fat loss
→ 43.6% lean mass loss

JunoRoma · 09/07/2025 21:08

@LC4life I'm glad your liver function tests are heading in the right direction.

ShrankLastWinter · 09/07/2025 21:24

gosh @LC4life well done!! Great that liver values are improving!

OrangeDonald · 09/07/2025 23:32

Today i stood on the scales and saw 75.8kg. A seven followed by a 5!!! I feel like the drop from 80 to 75 has taken ages, but its always a real boost to see a new number. I'll ignore the 0.8kg and celebrate my 75.

This was my pre covid weight. Im happy. So very very happy

JunoRoma · 10/07/2025 11:51

@OrangeDonald 🥳 for the 75kg!

I have several meals out booked in the next couple of weeks (milestone celebrations and reunions), then going on holiday (camping - I will not be taking scales).

I will be aiming to eat foods that are good for my body, and to stop eating at the point of satiety. However, I will not be food tracking the meals out or while I'm away.

I think that non-obese / healthy weight people have times when they eat more and temporarily gain a small amount, which they then lose (by eating more carefully and/or doing more cardio). I would like to be able to do that and not panic at the first tiny gain, worrying that it will all go back on again.

I have a maintenance call booked with the pharmacy the day after I get back from holiday, so hopefully that will inspire some moderation while I'm away.

Goinghome25 · 10/07/2025 20:57

Well done @OrangeDonald 🥳

Have a fab holiday @JunoRoma

OrangeDonald · 11/07/2025 22:53

My provider has also emailed to say must have a 6 month review via video. Apparently i need to be wearing tight fitting clothing, have scales, photo id, and a tape measure to hand.

No issues with any of this, as I've always put in correct weight every month- but just curious if anyone has had the video assessment and could tell me what it was like so i have some idea of what to expect.

Lindy0070 · 12/07/2025 08:52

@OrangeDonald I had to have a video consultation on Friday 11th July. Exactly the same requirements so probably the same company. He was late to the call and my medication still hasn’t been approved even though he was happy with everything. Apparently they have tried phoning me but I can’t answer my phone in school! No way if ringing them back so have had to organise another video consultation for next week. They’ve taken my money and gave been waiting since June 8th for this to be approved. I’m out of medication now due to the delay, not happy with this “service” at all.
Good luck, hope yours goes better than my experience 🙄

ShrankLastWinter · 12/07/2025 21:29

Wow @Lindy0070 that’s annoying! Hope they sort themselves out for you asap
