I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

I’m also pondering how I might do strength training. I have some James Smith routines from way back when he took on individual clients so they’re personalised so I’ve dug those out - there are some for gym and some for home using TRX and also kettlebell. But they’re pretty intense and I’m not sure I’m up to them at the moment.

I’ve found Mel Anderson on insta / YouTube- there are a lot of free kettlebell workouts with beginner versions and modifications for the unfit! She also focuses a lot on general daily movement for flexibility etc which I like. You can sign up for her daily emails for one new movement a day which you can just do while the kettle boils in the morning and I have enjoyed building a little routine of those. Not strength training but a good way to start the day.

W2D2 and I have got slight nausea today and I've had the most awful restless legs at night. It's been so bad I've had to sleep in the spare room so I don't disturb DH! Onwards and upwards...

PumpKim · 04/05/2025 10:01

Good morning all, just catching up.
I had food noise last night.
Saturday is my usual stuff my face for tea and eat a family size bag of chocolate night.
I definitely ate less, than I usually would, it was still a decent portion of food, but usually I stuff myself until I'm fit to burst and feel uncomfortable, if it's something tasty and I didn't do that.
But afterwards the usual boredom food noise started. DH was working night shift so I was alone. My head just kept telling me I needed something else. There was no chocolate in so I couldn't have any anyway but I wonder if I would have cracked if there was? There were choccy biscuits though and I opted for a handful.if raspberries instead 😇 Maybe the MJ gave me enough power to choose wisely😬

I definitely need to start strength training. I was following Penny Barnshaw on YouTube three times a week but hurt my back and just lost the habit while I was recovering. Really struggling to get motivated to get up that little bit earlier to fit it in.

Morning all. Sorry if this is a bit tmi. 2 weeks in and my only real side effect is im a bit constipated (sorry, i know). Someone i know has given me some digestive enzymes daily tablets. Does anyone know anything about these ? I think they might help but a bit concerned they may stop the mounjaro working. A quick google suggests it probably wont but wondering if anyone here has used these ?

Scousebloke · 04/05/2025 10:22

Having read a little more about the digestive enzymes i do not think they are what i need. Any reccomendations ?

HormonalHairyPoppins · 04/05/2025 10:33

Morning everyone, well done on the amazing losses. I've just done my second jab other than a headache for the first couple of days I've not suffered any other side effects so far. I've just weighed myself and I'm gobsmacked. I've lost 10lbs!

I think my headaches may be dehydration related, can anyone recommend some dehydration tablets?

Scousebloke · 04/05/2025 10:37

Thats brilliant.well done

wlinewbie0425 · 04/05/2025 10:49

@Scouseblokefybogel chews have sorted that side effect for me without causing the opposite issue. I don’t know anything about the other type of supplements.

OP posts:
MsRicoletti · 04/05/2025 10:50

@Scousebloke
re constipation, I bought some psyllium husk that someone on here helpfully recommended. I don’t like gritty drinks so opted for capsules (though this is a considerably more expensive option). Got them in Holland and barret and wasn’t too bad as they have a 3 for 2 offer and I needed other supplements anyway.
it is basically fibre that helps to ‘bulk up’ your poop, which is helpful if not eating much is leading to constipation.
I also eat a few prunes every day with an activia yoghurt . I’ve also found senna teabags to be extremely effective in the past, but they sometimes cause some cramping in my gut as they work their magic, so I’m trying to avoid these unless I really need them.

@HormonalHairyPoppins someone on here recommended vidrate sachets, and I’ve ordered the free 30 pack trial on their website (£3:99 postage, you can cancel subscription if you don’t like them or if you continue it’s £16 free postage per month for 30). They haven’t arrived yet.
Ive been using some cheapies I bought in home bargains, they have been a game changer for me. I was having awful headaches and drinking litres and litres of water, which someone on here helpfully pointed out may have been making it worse! I have 2 glasses of electrolytes daily now and no longer get headaches or feel super thirsty.

I meant to put this in my last message but forgot… just thought it’s maybe worth saying that I’m trying to be slightly inspired by my husband (not a sentence I say often 😂). He’s very lean and pretty fit but he’s been doing weights - just dumbells for 10-15 mins a day and he’s really developed muscles on arms and shoulders, it’s really noticeable. So little and often really can make a difference - I’m not fit enough to flog at a 45 minute session and it’s easy to get demotivated thinking a few minutes here and there won’t have an effect but he’s shown me it can and I need to remember that!

Scousebloke · 04/05/2025 10:52

Thankyou Msricolletti

After goal weight??
Sat here with my own thoughts this morning regarding the longer term when/if I reach my goal weight, or get to the place I want to be. What then??

I don't feel that i want to be on mj forever, and when considering it all before I decided to go ahead I always said the same.. but a little part of me wonders if its that simple...

My plan is to try and get my calorie intake up to at least 1200 (healthily and with plenty of protein) whilst on mj and continue with the gym. This then hopefully would be sustainable without the mj (with less willpower than would have been needed before mj, due to habitual changes).. but a part of me is scared that definitely cant happen and to remain lighter i will need to be on it forever.

What are everyones thoughts/plans?? If you even have any at this stage?

Yes - I had also thought about this. I definitely don't want to be on this long term as I'm finding managing the cycles of nausea a bit of a slog...

I saw this thread pop up from people whose are maintaining / transitioning off MJ and found it quite reassuring. Most say they are keeping up the healthier habits and some have even continued to lose weight. Most seem to want a bit of a weight 'buffer', so if they gain a bit they are still nicely within their target range

wlinewbie0425 · 04/05/2025 11:08

@HormonalHairyPoppinswell done that’s a huge loss!

@PumpKimor could be that you just need a bit more time to get to the level that keeps your food noise at bay. Well done on keeping it in line with willpower

@Sallycinnamum my W2D2 was my worst day but have felt great again since, just try to get in some health cals if you can or shakes and then catch up with nutrition tomorrow.

@RubyJunoi put my hand weights beside my desk in home office and been trying to do a few reps each time I get cold instead of just getting a cuppa or heated blanket! Yes to little and often.

I’ve just done my fourth jab. Not a great loss last week despite being in a deficit which is frustrating (only a pound) but then I zoomed out and in three weeks I’ve lost 8.7lb which is more than I’ve lost without the help of the jab and that’s something to be celebrated.

I can get caught up in other people’s huge losses but surely any loss is better than no loss at all? Ordered my 5mg pen from MedExpress on Friday and received an email this morning about delays so hoping it will be here soon because while I WILL take the golden dose, I want to be fully prepared.

wlinewbie0425 · 04/05/2025 11:25

@CosmicCuppamy 5mg from MedExpress came in under 24h earlier this week despite a warning when placing order of up to 14 day delay, so it’s probably just a generic extra email due to the bank holiday. Good to have it ahead of time for sure in case golden dose doesn’t work. My needles have arrived from ukmedi so hoping that works for me when the time comes too.

Checking in, I still haven't started so might need to find another group but you guys are nice 😄 I'm planning on ordering this week.
@GoGoGovy when are you planning to start? I have a similar start and goal weights.
There were a couple of people with similar stats on the old post, I hope they will carry on here!
SW 73kg
GW 58kg

Hi, I started yesterday afternoon. No side effects yet. I think there is some suppression, but I may be just kidding myself. Didn’t drink the whole of my Saturday night bottle of wine, which is a first.

Hawkmoth · 04/05/2025 11:59

I also found W2D2 really difficult but I've been keeping notes of side effects (and a food diary, and goals, and a graph!) and it was a comfort to see that it was the same set of symptoms as W2D2. I can now plan next week a bit better.

Whoever recommended peppermint oil capsules... Thank You! Minty burps are so much easier to deal with 😁

Psyllium husk has worked wonders for me. 7-9g in a small glass of water, give it a really good mix (I use a milk frother mini whisk), neck it back straight away (it will go thick if you wait). I'm a terrible popper normally and MJ froze my bowels it seemed, since starting this stuff I'm going twice a day 😁

Thank you everyone. I know I've had a huge loss for my first week but I have 10 stone still to lose. I know it will slow down and I'm in for a long slog but it will be worth it.

This thread is so supportive, I was debating about joining and posting my start weight as I'm so ashamed I've let myself get to this point but I'm so glad I joined you all now.

Gabby10 · 04/05/2025 13:22

Well done everyone on their losses! I’m w1d5. Still have no appetite but I am eating. Does anyone else feel a lot calmer? My brain normally has a million things going on and now it just seems so calm and not all over the place. It’s so weird but nice at the same time!

Flowerchild547 · 04/05/2025 13:24

Really struggling with lack of appetite since 3rd jab. Think I’ll probably need to get some protein drinks at some point purely to increase calories which is not something I ever thought I would need to actively think about.

How are people finding making themselves eat without hunger cues?
