I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

@Scousebloke nearly half a stone in 2 weeks is fab!

GoGoGovy · 03/05/2025 11:41

catchingzzzeds · 03/05/2025 11:27

@GoGoGovyI would have a light pub lunch and inject tonight.

Thanks @catchingzzzeds . I think I may do that.

Crikeyalmighty · 03/05/2025 10:51

@BeachBodyAim are you a great deal overweight ? as that isa really big loss in 2 weeks- well done though!! To put it in proportion I am 9lb down at5 weeks and eaten like a saint at 1100 a day, 1400 at weekends.

SW 17.7
CW 16.10
age 53
5ft 7in
so I’ve got a good chunk to loose to be a healthy, happy weight!!
I’ve done lots of diet clubs SW etc but it’s normally taken me 2/3 weeks to get the half stone award!!!! So this fab going for me!! I know it will slow down and I’m fine with that as long as the chunk is coming off!!!!
I’ve been in the menopause the last few years and the weights crept on and I just couldn’t shift it so would loose motivation after a few weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️

Waves at @GoGoGovy !
I I’m on wegovy. Started Tuesday this week. Happy to have a fellow wegovyer here as everyone else seems to be on mounjaro. Why did you decide on Wegovy? For me it’s because I’m not in the UK and Wegovy is the standard option it seems (only thing I was offered). I have had very few side effects except being very tired the first night (I injected in the afternoon) and a bit of belching (very mild). The suppression hasn’t been a lot with the first injection but have lost over 0.5kg in 4 days which is amazing!

Beachbabes · 03/05/2025 09:54

Weigh day today, 4.5lb down, I’m happy with that. Just went for a dip in the sea and off home to do jab #2. Managed to stay off the nibbles last night which is a miracle! Maybe Saturday morning weigh ins are the answer to keeping me focused. Feeling positive for the long weekend.

Have a lovely weekend guys 😊

Great result - well done! 👏

How was the sea? I'm not brave enough to swim in the sea in the UK but I do love swimming in the outdoor pool at my gym.

GoGoGovy · 03/05/2025 12:39

@Paranta yey! Another Wegovy user 👋.
0.5Kg in four days is an excellent start. Please keep posting your results.

I was in two minds about going with Wegovy, as mourjano does seem to have better results on paper. In then end, the thing that swung it for me was the studies that showed Wegovy could reduce alcohol consumption. I drink far too much and when I drink, I also crave high fat, high salt, snacks. If Wegovy can take the wine craving away, then that will help a lot.

Hi Everyone,

SW 13st/82 kg

GW 60 kg

I cannot believe how much weight I've lost this week! I had a headache w1d2, that was the only side effect.

Mounraine · 03/05/2025 13:43

That’s great @50lbstolose ! How old and tall are you?

Herewegoagain80 · 03/05/2025 13:56

@Paranta
@GoGoGovy

I’m another Wegovy user. There’s not too many of us around. My main reason for using Wegovy is that it doesn’t affect my contraception. The last thing I wanted is an unexpected pregnancy while trying to lose weight.

I only had my first injection yesterday so it’s a bit early to judge, but I don’t feel any different yet. I’ve had no side effects and also no hunger suppression.

TwistedKeys · 03/05/2025 14:55

Second jab today.

SW 11st 12.6lb
CW 11st 7.2lb (-5.4lb). Yay!
GW 8st 13lb

No side effects yet today, other than I’m absolutely knackered. But I suspect that’s diet rather than drug related.

I still have a whacker of a bruise on last week’s injection site. While I’m never going to be wearing a bikini, I’m wondering if a bruised belly is the price we have to pay for no good noise?

MsRicoletti · 03/05/2025 16:17

@TwistedKeys, I have a big bruise from my second Jab which surprised me as I didn’t get one at all from the first. The only difference was I pressed the plunger down to inject first dose VERY slowly as I was a bit scared. Second time I was less wary, also , and the plunger wasn’t as stiff and so it shot in really fast.

so I’m going to do third one really slowly and see if this prevents bruising 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sunshineandpool · 03/05/2025 16:26

Just had a lovely seafront walk with a friend. He was smoking and I asked for a drag and it confirmed I have no interest in smoking on mounjaro! I was telling him they may eventually use it to help people stop smoking and potentially drink and drugs too. It does feel a bit like a 'wonder drug.'

I know a few people are 'secret injectors' and I wanted to show you the case I got for putting my pen and swabs/needles in. It looks like it could be a pencil case so could be good for those who want to keep their bits hidden. I don't need to hide mine, I'm just a sucker for pretty storage! It even has room for my Juniper measuring tape. It also came with 2 little ice packs which you can use if you are travelling and need to keep the pen cold. Another lovely poster suggested it as an idea - so sorry your name escapes me!

I had quite a lot of dizziness this morning. Not sure if it was low blood sugar or low blood pressure. But I felt ok after lunch so was able to go out for the walk.

That little case is adorable.

Crikeyalmighty · 03/05/2025 16:36

@Sunshineandpool god I’m the opposite with smoking sadly - not eating much has made me want to smoke more, especially if I’m thinking I feel snacky - I really must give up when I get the weight off - I’m more than aware it’s not great but thought I would be honest.

I also had a massive bruise from first one but I panicked and did it really fast - my second I took my time and counted slowly to 5 whilst injecting and I didn't bruise at all - so maybe slow and steady is the answer. I still have a big bruise from jab 1 and that was 9 days ago!

I had a good 1st week, definitely some quieting of food noise . I felt very hungry on the 7th day before the 2nd jab and had chocolate craving this morning so I’m going to watch my intake is adequate. But I’ve just been out for brunch and barely touched the food- it was pretty mediocre so I left it whereas I would usually have finished it all anyway. Drank all the cocktails though (pretty sure they were watered down, my typing should be worse….).

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Flowerchild547 · 03/05/2025 17:53

Interesting talk about the bruising! I bruised on my second week but not first or third!
I did change injections sites on second week as saw talk of thigh being better for suppression but I have found that stomach is much more effective for me.

My second pen arrived yesterday. I’ve gone for 5mg as was same price as 2.5mg and can just do half if I’m not enjoying the 5.
My first order was from MedExpress but I wasn’t a fan of their customer service so have ordered from Zava this time and was a much quicker process (and cheaper!)

Flowerchild547 · 03/05/2025 17:53

Well done to all those with losses btw!

PoisonIvy89 · 03/05/2025 18:03

Wow so many big losses!!! well done to all of you!

Are you all eating very low calories to achieve this? No judgement if you are, just curious.
I am having very little interest in food and have had no desire to snack at all so I feel like it would be easy to go super low cal.

I am eating healthy meals and making sure I get protein and vegetables and water in and I am eating because I know I should not because I just want to. It feels very weird. Is this how normal people feel about food? It's literally just fuel to me right now. I have no desire to snack on a whole tube of pringles while watching a movie. I can go to the kitchen and make a coffee and not browse the cupboards while the kettle boils looking for a chocolately treat to have with it.

Holy crap this stuff is magic!

PoisonIvy89 · 03/05/2025 18:09

@Sunshineandpool I also like pretty storage, your case is cute! I have all my stuff in this: amazon

edit to fix link

Chunkysewist · 03/05/2025 18:16

W2D5 for me, food suppression still good here. Enjoyed a lovely 3mile walk around the reservoir, our teenagers even joined us so that was nice. Had lunch in the cafe. Only thing I fancied on the menu was chips, beans and cheese. It was a small portion (cereal bowl sized), past me would not have been impressed 😂 but current me enjoyed it and was full afterwards. I'm not wanting a full meal for tea now so it will probably be a protein shake and some melon later.

Thanks for the tip about Zava! I'm also looking to switch from MedExpress... But I'm being a bit put off by having to potentially do complicated video submissions/ consultations.

Was it as simple as just filling in a form at Zava?

Anyone got any other tips about good online pharmacies to switch to?

I'm potentially looking at sticking to 2.5mg... but agree it could be useful to buy the 5mg and at least have the option of using a smaller dose if preferred 🤔

PoisonIvy89 · 03/05/2025 18:50

@PeachSnail I used WePrescribe and they were great, answered questions almost immediately, checking approving and dispatching were fast, next day delivery via royal mail signed for.

PeachSnail · 03/05/2025 19:01

Thanks @PoisonIvy89 - good to know!
