I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

Hi, thanks for popping on ❤️ can I ask, when you went back down to 2.5 was the suppression still there? ❤️

Yes, I still have suppression! Even now after 6+ months. I'm still able to eat a decent amount but there is a lack of food noise and the cravings for sweet/crap food is definitely suppressed!

Do you have a plan in mind for maintenance at all? Will you still use mounjaro or try to do it without? ❤️

Honestly, no I don't which is slightly worrying me, not going to lie. I'm hoping that as I've been on 2.5mg throughout, it won't be a huge difference when I stop? 😬

Sallycinnamum · 02/05/2025 22:44

Just taken my second jab so fingers crossed all is OK over the weekend.

I am.prescrived cyclazine for migraines so have that on hand if the nausea strikes.

5.5lb loss in my first week and as I said on the other thread the suppression is very subtle. It's like I just can't be bothered to eat although I did struggle a bit today.

So thrilled with the losses this week. Even my DD has noticed although she doesn't know I'm on Mounjaro.

Crikeyalmighty · 02/05/2025 22:44

@Tsavorite yep - why make yourself feel crap , if you can cope fine on 2.5 - at the end of the day and lose it but take a little longer - at the end of the day it still comes down to what’s going on your mouth and how much you burn it off .

Chunkysewist · 03/05/2025 07:30

Morning all ❤️ happy Saturday!
I didn't hit my calorie goal yesterday. While at the 'sewcial' I had a chocolate Éclair and my body seemed to decide that that was lunch then and was done 😂
I'm still sleeping terribly 😭 can we take phenergan with mounjaro?
Hope everyone has a good day 😊

Sunshineandpool · 03/05/2025 07:43

Morning! 🌞

W2D1 - I had my 2nd jab last night. Woken up very thirsty. Like many I've been having quite vivid dreams. Last night I had a bit of a nightmare. Apart from that all good.

Enjoy the sunshine, everyone!

StartingApril2025 · 03/05/2025 07:47

Morning everyone, well done on all the results in yesterday!
today was my second jab and the first I had to do myself as the doctor did the first one. I was awake from 6am and full of excitement/ nerves so just got up and did it. All went fine although I finger pricked myself after taking off the needle😵‍💫

I did weigh myself howver hard for me to know exactly what I’ve lost as the doctors scales and mine were not exactly the same but I think it’s 3 or 4lbs which I’m happy with! Had a good week though looking back and tracking what I ate there is no way I ate near enough calories on a few days so will try this week to eat enough. On day 5+6 I was having more food noise and hunger back but then still getting full after a reasonable portion of food so that’s fine, was able to have a few chocolate buttons for the packet last night with the need for a few packets as usual!
absolutely loving this thread and seeing everyone’s updates. I’m due my period this week so will be so interesting so to see if any impact!

I am a secret jabber, as I know my family would certainly be against this, so this thread is so inspiring.
I will jump in the scales next week. I've been at my heaviest for years now and want to get back to the 10.5-11 stone I was 15 years ago.
My autistic son really helps - he said yesterday 'you are a very stout little woman mummy' and I really am.

Oh bless him. My 2 are autistic too. My daughter was telling me the other day that her friend said she shouldn't keep calling me fat 'but you are fat, aren't you mum?' Yes, I am!

Sunshineandpool · 03/05/2025 08:10

Have a great holiday, @AbundanceofKatherines

coffeelover69 · 03/05/2025 08:13

Morning everyone ❣️
Well done to you all 😊
So good to get an update @TsavoriteIm tempted to stay on 2.5 as it seems to work for me with little SE
Big test last night as hubby wanted to go out for pub tea and drinks, absolutely nothing healthy on the menu so had loaded chilli nachos with guacamole etc. I could hardly eat half of it! Managed two and a half glasses of wine though 😫
Felt like I'd had two bottles this morning though 😭.
Anyway I survived! Onwards and upwards 💪 x

SkibidiSigma · 03/05/2025 08:21

Morning all,

Just checking in. W2 D3 for me and all going well. No side effects this injection except heartburn and I'm prone to that anyway and on a prescribed ppi. Bowels are no more messed up than usual. Appetite and wine suppression is good at the moment. I managed about 1200 calories yesterday, although 500 of that was a shake.

@Brunocatmon I brought my injection forward by 24 hours and all the pharmacy sites say this is fine - you have to leave at least 72 hours between doses.

My biggest worry is the long term affordability for me. An hoping the thing about being able to get it for the cost of a prescription happens soon. I can't believe how well I seem to have responded to 2.5mg.

Well done to everyone on the losses and welcome new posters 😊

wlinewbie0425 · 03/05/2025 08:30

Happy long weekend everyone! Well done on all the losses and other positive updates.

After my awful Thursday where I barely managed to eat I did focus on trying to get in calories yesterday. It’s incredibly difficult. Not a problem I’ve ever imagined having. Was able to eat a small portion of healthy dinner and I am purposely not calorie tracking but know it was far too low still. tried to be social with DH for Friday evening and have a glass of wine but I couldn’t finish it. I have a very active day out planned today so about to try and get in as much as possible for breakfast.

My goal weight is 10 stone but I may try for 9.5 which will put me firmly in the 'healthy' BMI zone (I'm short!).

Do you think being short means that more side effects are felt? Or the dose is more effective at the lower amount? I'm short too, and have been feeling extremely nauseous on 2.5mg. I've lost about 6lb too, in my first week. I'm thinking 5mg maybe be too much for me too. Maybe it's early days, just 2 days into my second week..

PumpKim · 03/05/2025 08:49

Gig night went well but I was little weirded out by how I felt. Today is W1D3, so finding it hard to believe I'm having suppression already.
Had a Gin can to drink while I was getting ready (we're staying in a hotel). Couple of sips and I wasn't feeling it but thought it was because it wasn't cold enough. Ended up leaving it. Got to the gig and didn't fancy a drink. I just knew I didn't want anything gassy. I had water! Unheard of! On top of that I still had fun without being at least tipsy.

We got stuck in traffic heading here so no time to eat before. I'd had porridge and a subway salad earlier in the day but I wasn't starving and craving a takeaway afterwards. I knew I hadn't had enough calories so got some cooked chicken breast portions (and more water) from Tesco express on the way back to the hotel 🤣

This morning I woke up feeling like I might have had a drink, so definitely a little dehydrated despite the water consumption yesterday.

I just don't know if it's the medication working or if it's all in my head that I'm very conscious of not making myself feel poorly.

Sunshineandpool · 03/05/2025 08:51

I'm having a bit of a lazy morning. My stomach has been growling so I need to eat but also feeling a little nauseous. I'm also a bit dizzy so definitely going to get some breakfast. I'm thinking weetabix and banana.

MsRicoletti · 03/05/2025 08:55

@PumpKim , I had appetite suppression really strongly from the evening of my first jab. The second and third days were the most significant in terms of my appetite disappearing .

try and get some electrolytes as I’ve found they help so much with dehydration.

MsRicoletti · 03/05/2025 08:57

I woke up feeling hungover 😭 bit sick , headache and so thirsty.

In was at the pub last night but had a mint tea so defo not booze related.

is it possible that I’m dehydrated after more than 3L of water (some of which was electrolytes) yesterday???

It sounds like the feeling a lot of us have had. I had suppression straight away. I found day 2 the strongest. Glad you had a good time!

How tall are you @Sweetspinach? I’m 5’4, 206lbs (and 2.5mg doesn’t appear to be having any effect on me, positive or negative (taken 2 injections). Lost 2lb so far (one dropped off this morning!) but feel that would have happened anyway with willpower and the clean eating/no alcohol and have paid £50-odd for the privilege. Feel like I’ll go up to 5mg and be ‘ah, so this is what everyone’s on about’ 🤣

I definitely think that’s possible. A short friend of mine felt SE on 2.5 and stayed on that dose without going up. It makes sense.

Did you manage to eat okay yesterday?

Crunchymum · 03/05/2025 09:01

2nd jab last night. So far so good.

I've got the world's smallest bladder and we have lots of plans today (no access to a loo) so I'm not going to have much to drink until I'm home later on. I know its silly but it's the only way I manage on days like this.

Hopefully losing weight helps with the bladder issue? I've always had a weak bladder, even when 8st / size 8 but it's got worse as I've got fatter (although I'm older and have had 3 vaginal deliveries. Sorry TMI at this time in the day 😅)

Will do my 2L easily when I'm home though.

Sorry you're not feeling good. I really don't know about the dehydration? Have you got scales that measure your body water?
