I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

I have also been knocked with the tiredness that usually coincides with when the MJ peaks for a day or 2.

I have just had the fourth dose, jabbed in my stomach as I have every time but was planning on changing to thigh, until I read comments today.
However is anyone else struggling to find a NO stretchmark spot on stomach, after 4 kids my stomach looks like a vase that smashed to smithereens and has been stuck back together (badly).

Seriously though, does anyone know what the issue is if I do hit a stretchmark?

Hawkmoth · 14/05/2025 23:22

I am not tired either. I'm waking up more easily, doing more, but still sleeping like a baby. Everything hurts less as well so I'm not waking to turn over in the early hours.

PoisonIvy89 · 14/05/2025 23:24

@Sheldon4k I googled this recently after someone mentioned it on here. Apparently injecting anything in to scar tissue is a no because scar tissue affects absorption and a stretchmark is scar tissue. I have lots of very faded pregnancy stretchmarks too so am also struggling a bit to try to inject between them.

Chunkysewist · 15/05/2025 08:11

My stomach is like a road map on the bottom half, lines everywhere having had 2 10lb+ babies. Hard to find full skin 🙈 how high up can we do it? Above mid level I have pretty good skin but is that too high?
I'm W4D3 I'm plodding along, still getting full quicker and no urge to snack but I don't feel suppressed as such? Defo get tired easier and I wake up at 4am every morning 🤷 for no reason?!

GoGoGovy · 15/05/2025 08:24

Coming to the end of week 2 now. No suppression for the last couple of days. Nearly went back to my wicked ways yesterday evening. Thank goodness there weren’t any crisps in the house.
Dissapointing loss of 3.5lbs so far. May have to join the plodders thread.
Ive already ordered my 0.5mg pen (wegovy), as 0.25 doesn’t seem to be doing much now.
Onwards and downwards! 😀

PumpKim · 15/05/2025 08:30

Jab 3 last night. I'm still finding the plunger hard to press. It really stung last night and it bled which has never happened before. I seem to have moved the needle and created a scratch, it's tiny but bigger than the needle puncture should be. I was thinking my thigh would be easier but the few posts here about it being less effective have put me off🫤

Looking to get my next pen ordered, I'm going to increase to 5mg. I do have suppression on 2.5 but it isn't extreme so I've decided to move up and then stick to the 5 longer if it's working and SEs are ok.

StartingApril2025 · 15/05/2025 08:44

Re stretch marks, when I had my appointment with the doctor I pointed out I had a lot of scar tissue and adhesions from a complicated csection- my tummy on bottom right is very very hard , doctor said to avoid that area completely, do the other three sections of stomach or front of thigh or back of arm( fatty bit) I y tried the arm or thigh yet but have done higher on on my stomach on the right side ( same side as the scar tissue) last week and felt it much less effective so I’m going to only follow on the one side of my stomach I think and will try arm too.

I keep waking up early too - 4.30am today, 5am yesterday! And deffo more tired first day or two after injecting.

So, I’ve just done my 4th and final week on my 2.5mg pen. To quickly recap, I’ve had no discernible effects on my eating, nothing positive or negative (apart from end-of-day tiredness/waking up early/some constipation) to note from a 2.5mg dose. So last week I did a full 2.5mg dose then turned 30 clicks to inject an additional 1.25mg to take it up to 3.75mg (not recommended, doing it at my own risk, etc).

The test for this week was to see if I could get at least the remaining 30 clicks (1.25mg) out of the pen (and then use a syringe to take a full 2.5mg dose using the ‘golden dose’) or whether as @Crikeyalmighty(I think, this thread’s moved too fast for me to find your reply!) found, the pen was locked because I’d taken a fourth dose out of it last week, regardless of the number of clicks/quantity. In which case, I’d use a syringe to get a 3.75mg dose from the remaining medication.

Well, I got the remaining 30 clicks out of the pen, which is potentially great news for those of you wanting to take less out of a 5mg pen each dose - it’s worked on the number of clicks for me (total of 240 clicks plus a few extra for priming), not number of doses…but to be aware, that didn’t work for Crikeyalmighty.

I then used the syringe to extract a full 2.5mg dose (which was 60 units on the syringe - 0.6ml). It was more difficult to get the needle into me, I had to push quite hard but in a controlled way to get it through the skin and that wasn’t pleasant. I don’t know if the needle had blunted slightly from going through the red rubber seal? But on the plus side, it was easier to depress the plunger once it was in. The injection area feels sore now, whereas I can’t feel where the usual needle went in at all. Maybe if you do it repeatedly at the end of a pen then you get used to it, but I didn’t like the whole process, almost bottled it, and don’t plan on doing it again as I’ll be moving up to 5ml next week and keeping my fingers crossed that it will kick in.

Hope this helps if there’s anything good or bad for you in there!

Scousebloke · 15/05/2025 10:16

@Coventree thanks for the info. Very useful

ymemanresu · 15/05/2025 10:37

NSV here, i sleep on my side frequently and when i wake up my hips really hurt. I kinda told myself this was peri sore joint related but it seems the 12.5 llbs loss has got rid of it! Hope others are having similar effects.

@Coventree Thanks for the info, I was waiting to see how someone got on with the golden dose x

Sheldon4k · 15/05/2025 12:33

@Chunkysewist my skin is only clear of stretch marks upwards of my belly button, below that im struggling to find a spot unless its right out to the side. I don't know how far up we can inject either.

@Coventreethanks for the click test update. Possibly going to be viable unless it locks out at 4 doses like @Crikeyalmightys did. So 3.75mg may be okay as im not liking the thought of the syringe tbh.

W3D2: no loss at the end of week 2 but after a 12lb loss in around 10 days and also being away for a few days I expected it. Is anyone just eating when you feel like it or actually making yourself eat 2/3 meals a day? The first few days after my jab I can happily not eat anything but do make myself have 1 meal but feel like I probably need to be eating more.

wlinewbie0425 · 15/05/2025 17:28

Evening all, just catching up, hope you are are enjoying the sunshine too. I definitely think the combination of early summer alongside starting Mounjaro has really helped. All i seem to want for my meals is something protein on salad! And Mounjaro has silenced the voice in my head that would expect this weather to go hand in hand with a cold beer or wine.

Yorkshiregirl10 · 15/05/2025 17:53

@wlinewbie0425 agree that the weather is definitely helping, I'd generally avoid bigger meals when it's hot, but like you, I can turn down a beer and some crisps in the afternoon sun now

MsRicoletti · 15/05/2025 18:52

Hi all, hope everyone is feeling good today.

Im traveling for work today and no idea what I’m going to eat for dinner in the hotel restaurant ?!

I’ve stayed here before and recall it’s all quite heavy food. in the past I’ve been delighted with the opportunity to eat a fancy starter and main meal that I didn’t cook, with a cheeky glass of wine from the bar … how things have changed for me !

im hoping to find some protein and salad/veg and skip the carbs 🤷🏻‍♀️ I ate some lunch and im not at all hungry.

I’ve been having to really push myself to eat more than once per day (apart from the 2 days before due jab) . Trying to have at least 2 meals every day as I get lightheaded otherwise. Hoping when I go up to 5 next week I can still coax myself to eat enough.

First 3-4 days after jab I could probs eat nothing at all. I’m viewing this as ‘fasting days’ , but trying to eat at least something (or have protein shake) once in these days or I get lightheaded… usually have 400 or 500 calories per day on these days, which isn’t enough but all I can face! I eat 2 or 3 small meals the few days before jab is due.

interestingly, in my second week I barely ate anything and lost the least amount of weight in that week …

Nearlyhadenough · 15/05/2025 20:26

I very occasionally work a night shift to cover sick leave. I’m going in tonight and instead of the usual huge bag of Wispa mini chocolates, I’m taking……grapes!

And it’s what I want.

TheSilentSister · 15/05/2025 21:06

4th dose tomorrow. Weighed myself today and seems like I've lost a total of 4lbs over the month, despite appetite suppression. All I've ate today was a portion of microwave egg rice and a cheese salad.
I can't wait to get onto 5 ml dose to see what it does. As I've said before, I'm post menopause and pre-diabetic, so losing weight is hard.
But hey, 4lbs lose is better than gaining!

lissie123 · 15/05/2025 21:22

What does everyone do when their weight goes from the obese category into overweight? I’m just on the cusp and I’m with market place medicine. I think I can still order the next pen. I’m keen to stick with it and get into the normal healthy range- but I’m unlikely to do it without MJ.

MsRicoletti · 15/05/2025 21:33

@TheSilentSister congrats on your loss. Slow and steady wins the race 🥳

I’ve wondered this too…

my understanding is that if you stay with same supplier you can keep ordering until at goal weight (presumably if this is within a ‘healthy ‘ BMI range) then continue to order to maintain your goal weight, with guidance for what this strength should be.

I think (?) you can also change provider at any point , but have to evidence that you were first prescribed with the higher BMI , and it’s possibly a bit more fiddly .

i figure I’ll just stay with my current provider to save the hassle of sending in evidence, new photos etc .

im Hearing this! I’ve just happily walked past the vending machine in the hotel I’m staying in. Last time I was here I shuffled out of my room down the corridor for a late night kinder bueno and a twix. I wouldn’t thank you for chocolate these days. It’s wild isn’t it!

PoisonIvy89 · 15/05/2025 23:04

@Chunkysewist I had the early wake ups for the first week but that has eased off now

@Coventree I hope the 5 works for you, did you still get nothing from the 3.75?

I think it was @MsRicoletti that did the testing? the thread moves so fast some days so it's hard to remember, being able to search in threads would be so useful.

Tomorrow is weigh in and jab 3.
Does anyone wait longer between doses?
I've been wondering about stretching it out to every 8 days instead of 7 as I'm not finding it's wearing off for those last couple of days like a lot of people are reporting so I could probably make it last a little longer. It would take me a couple of days over the 30 day expiry but that's a very small amount so should be fine. But then it's more convenient to do the same day each week so idk

PoisonIvy89 · 15/05/2025 23:07

@TheSilentSister well done, slow and steady, you're right it is so so much harder as we get older to lose any

@Nearlyhadenough it's crazy isn't it! enjoy your grapes!!
