I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

I’ve just been to my GP and she suggested I go to 5ml as the suppression is very low the last couple of days. I also asked about the HRT for anyone who was asking earlier in the thread. She said cos I have the coil in it won’t affect me, but anyone taking oral HRT it will. It’s the progesterone that’s the issue, it doesn’t absorb so you may need to get something for that if needed.

Thanks for asking your dr this as i am on oral progesterone and this is what i read too. Trip to drs to be booked ..

PoisonIvy89 · 13/05/2025 22:41

@Flowerchild547 great loss! hope you feel better soon

@TheSilentSister total suppression and hardly eating is not good, are you going to reduce the dose?

@SassyLimeHelper well done!

@Sheldon4k the dry mouth is annoying! I had a few days of being very thirsty but that wore off, hopefully the dry mouth will too

TheSilentSister · 13/05/2025 22:54

@PoisonIvy89 - I'm only on minimum starter dose so can't reduce, lol.
I think my pre-diabetes will be a factor, it always would be in hindsight. MJ has got to do it's work on that first I suspect. It's only W3D5. I'm thinking I've got to give it a lot longer chance to start showing good weight loss. I'm post menopausal too and inflammation in joints. MJ (and myself) has a lot of work to do.

Good morning all. Jab 4 for me later today and weigh in this morning. Happy to have lost another 2lb this week. Knew things had slowed to a more sensible rate and hoping to continue like this as, exciting as the initial drop was, I worry about hair loss and possibility of loose skin. I do really look forward to getting into next stone bracket in the next couple of weeks though, and the amazing thing with this compared to any previous diet is I have no doubt that I will!

Well done @wlinewbie0425 ! You're doing brilliantly 👏

W3D1 for me and I've lost 1lb. I've ordered a 5mg pen to see if I'll have better results on that in a fortnight's time. Still have 66lbs to lose sadly

wlinewbie0425 · 14/05/2025 07:24

Well done @Coffeeandallthebooks - if we can keep going at 1-2lb a week average just think how much progress we will see in 6 months. It feels really achievable now on Mounjaro, we just have to be patient (not my forte!) but knowing it WILL happen helps enormously unlike every other struggle of a diet.

Great results @wlinewbie0425

I had a sneaky post poo weigh in this morning and despite chocolate-gate last night I too am at 13st 1 so am very happy. Official weigh in tonight with clothes on, then 4th jab.
similar starting weight to you but can’t even imagine getting down to 10st. Aiming for the weight I was when my marriage fell apart (12st)

Congrats on the losses @wlinewbie0425and @toobusytoclean 👏👏👏

Thanks for sharing this article... Yes, it really feels that the narrative is changing towards a more responsible focus on long term health outcomes vs. Sharon Osbourne's face! Thank goodness!

While we're all forking out hundreds of pounds on these medications, we're probably also saving the NHS millions of pounds by staving off future health problems... I wish that fact could somehow counteract all the fear-mongering and accusations of 'cheating'... But at least the tide seems to be turning 🙂

PumpKim · 14/05/2025 08:31

Well done on all the fab weight losses
Third jab for me this evening. Weigh in this morning and I've lost 7lb in total so far, so chuffed with that 😁

I've definitely been able to eat more the last few days, still not snacking but my main meals haven't been an issue with feeling too full or anything but it could be that I'm finally in tune with what a normal portion should look like.

Thinking I'll definitely just move to the 5mg when I order my next pen.

Also starting to think I'm the only one here that doesn't intend to take the 'bonus' dose 🙈

Sheldon4k · 14/05/2025 08:59

@PumpKimI'm not 100% sure whether I will or won't take the extra dose. I am more thinking I may like to step up from 2.5 to 3.75, or if I do decide on 5 and get bad SE may want to drop back to 3.75, however don't want to waste medicine if it then stops at 4 doses as there would be paid for medicine left (therefore possibly needing to mess with syringes). I don't think I would want to do another 2.5 (extra dose from existing pen) as my weight loss has slowed a lot already and im noticing a little more food noise creeping in earlier than in previous weeks.

Im waiting on more conf from people regarding clicks or doses as the pen locking point.

So I’m on W4 D2 and would normally be not noticing food at all but this week I am hungry! I don’t know if this is totm or just my body being ready for 5mg. Either way it’s made my mind up for me despite dreading the side effects! It has made me realise how amazing the suppression feeling is when MJ is working for me…

Oh gosh me too, I have eaten way too much this week as I’ve zero suppression and eggy burps again

Crikeyalmighty · 14/05/2025 09:41

@Sheldon4k yep I get you - mine literally locked hard after4 doses of 200 on a 2.5 pen . I wasn’t even doing the full dose

Flowerchild547 · 14/05/2025 11:22

For those who are unsure if their GP’s have been informed about mounjaro use by their provider - I received a letter from my doctor surgery earlier this week stating they’ve been informed that I have started weight loss injections and gave an overview of my medical history (to share what they sent to the prescriber I assume).

I was also doubtful that my surgery would be informed but it seems they have been!

LordJohnGrey · 14/05/2025 11:23

W3d1, just taken my third dose, and have lost 9lb in all so far, so I'm pleased with that.

Still no SE so hoping that continues when I go up to 5mg. Suppression is good until last afternoon when I have to use will power, and did think I would stick at 2.5 for another week, but in the end decided to go up and stick there if it's working.

RubyJuno · 14/05/2025 11:53

@PumpKim I don’t think I’ll be taking the bonus dose cos I’d be too worried about getting it wrong and I’m a bit of a goody goody.

I’m away with friends BH weekend which is when I would take my first dose of the new pen so I don’t really want to move to 5mg in case I do react - I’ve had absolutely zero side effects beyond a bit of fatigue and skin tenderness in week one but I’ve definitely not felt the effects as strongly this week. We’ve had a weekend of birthdays so meals have been a bit more “special” and I made a fabulous cake which I’ve had a piece of each of the last 3 days so I’d be surprised if I’ve stuck to calories (not tracking) but I’ve also not gone mental.

I think I will stick to 2.5mg for now as broadly speaking it’s helping me do what I need to do and I’m not suffering at all.

Lidlbitofmonica · 14/05/2025 12:22

@RubyJuno I’m the same, not planning doing a golden dose as I’m worried about getting it wrong too, also not wanting to faff about with syringes.

W3D6 abd def not feeling as much suppression so moving up to 5ml though. Friends have told me they didn’t really feel an effect from the medication until then so looking forward to seeing what the difference will be!

violetmondays · 14/05/2025 12:35

@RubyJuno @PumpKim @Lidlbitofmonica same - not planning the golden dose here either. I've watched a couple of videos and still makes me feel anxious! I really don't like injecting myself and had to psych myself up to it with the pen, I don't want to start messing about with proper syringes and having to count/work out the right amounts. Maybe I will feel more confident after a few more weeks...

Week 3 day 6 for me, and still haven't decided whether to stay on 2.5 or go up to 5. I suppose I might just order the 5 and then I could still do half a dose if I feel like I am still getting good surpression but I can increase if needed. Is it easy to see where the half dose point is on the pen??

wlinewbie0425 · 14/05/2025 12:55

@violetmondays you can’t see the 30 but you turn it slowly and count 30 clicks. All the way to 1 is 60 clicks. If you plan to do the pens a few times as 30 I reckon you could put a sharpie mark in the window at 30 after careful counting the first time.

Oh yes! Thanks @wlinewbie0425 what a great plan! And congrats on the loss this week 👌

TeatimeForTheSoul · 14/05/2025 13:41

@Caddycat I'm at a similar stage W1D6.
Having delayed starting for ages (ill health and worries) I'm really grateful for is thread and for all the posts. Reading more than writing, so thank you everyone!
1st week seems to have gone really well. Will weigh tomorrow. I've had good suppression (beginning to tail off) but noticed yesterday food was tasting SO intense! Really really flavourful. Has anyone else had this?

I'm not taking the bonus either. Simply because I can't be bothered with the faff.
